Have just read that we are signing Frazer Forster before the end of the week. Thought we were getting the Real deal done this week. Dunno what to believe anymore.

Tory I believe we are considering making both additions.

Interesting! Perhaps the week where we had injuries to Blackman and Bailey is leading us to secure more strength in depth. With the outfield players, much more flexibility between the two squads of players, less options with the goalies, even KP, Alioski or Dallas couldn’t be that flexible!

Looks like the plan may be to take BPF back to the under 23s. There he can gain playing time and learn better than sitting on the bench. We all can see that though he has fought the good fight valiantly, he is not quite there yet. But he is yound, talented and strong of mind. He won't be discarded as such but given the time to gain more experience and mature and grow as a keeper. His time will come again.

Kiwis that seem a bit unfair on the under23 keeper, who is doing a good job, as is BPF.

It’s a good point Kiwi, how many times does the bench goalkeeper get to do anything.

We might just be lining up different GK options in case one doesn’t come off but if we do get both of them that will be one big tick in the gk department.

With the under 23s we have, Huffer and Miazak. If Bailey drops back, one of those might go out.

I like Huffer and just wonder if in the medium term he might be the prospect. Really dominates his area. I was close to him and listening to what he was shouting . Constant encouragement and positional “coaching”. Very impressive.

just paper talk would one of them want to sit on bench.

Absolutely mygod! It’ll be one or the other, and I think Forster is the backup plan. Hopefully some clarity in the next 24hrs!

Would love forster, great keeper but if we get the Spanish guy then we won't get forster.

I feel sorry for Wagner. I liked his positive and honest interviews. And I thought he did extremely well with an average Huddersfield side.

(Yes, I remember the spat with Monk but with hindsight I can't get to angry about what happened
And yes I know it's the dogbothers but I think the manager was reasonably good at his job. Getting them up and getting 2 years of Premiership money. Not to mention the parachute payments. He certainly paid for himself)

Very good under 23 performance today!

Brown just about lasted the 90, clearly tired in the last 15 but showed some classy touches and good finishes.

I mentioned the need to get 2 of Aapo, Hugo and Pascal playing together regularly. Well today the played all three with Pascal, left back ish and for the first half Pearce on the left wing.

Aapo has a great game solid in defense and pinging some great passes forward.

In the second half Robbie Gotts replaced Shackleton in midfield and Davis replaced Pearce. Those two changes made a real difference. Gotts, a real dynamo, great going forward. David more effective than Pearce.

KP played a full game, calm and assured and Jordan Stevens had one of the best games I've seen from him

Kun played up front and had a few good opportunities.

2-0 and particularly in the second half we should have had a fair few more as the post was hit a few times.

Brown looking better and getting close to being able to come off the bench, but I think he will have another 90 mins next week at least.

You can see the confidence that Aapo, Gotts and Davis have got from their time with the first team.

I turned round during the game and Pablo, Alioski and Beradi were stood right behind me. Lots of the first team drifted about watching the game at various times.

As it stands tonight Leeds too at Chanpionship, under 23 and under 18 level! Sweet!

I do like Gotts

Fair play to for first team players going to watch future and present team mates. That’s class

That’s the current ethos going through this club and a massive reason for why we will succeed.

Love your reports on the under 23 games Spanish. Thanks for these and please keep them coming. I'm either getting old or dead lazy because I'm finding the trip to see these myself a bit burdensome. But I really do enjoy getting the inside juice on how the players are going.

Kiwi, I enjoy the games. It’s interesting apart from the game, who you see and what you hear in the chat going on around.

Next Monday it’s the Premier league Cup against Southampton, tough game and it’s been moved to Tadcaster Albion. 7pm kick off, £3 entry, worth it! Possibly get to see Brown again and one or two of the other returners in addition to a whole bunch of great regulars.

Thanks Spanish for the match/ player report. All your posts are considered and sensible. I can always tell they are your posts before seeing the name at the bottom. Great to find out about the youngsters/ returnees. Keep them coming mot.

Tewit, it took me a few seconds to register who they were! I would have liked to practice my Spanish with Pablo, but the words didn’t come out! At the Barnsley game, I did manage to have a brief conversation with Carlos in Spanish before the game started! I don’t think he was expecting it!

Down south, Thanks, I’d encourage anyone to get to the games if you can. You get a really interesting perspective on the club and you are so much closer to the action. And to be honest now, the quality of the teams we are putting out and the football were playing is great.

Spanish. Think we all love your reports, long may you keep posting them.

Two thoughts. 1.Do you fancy being Marcelo's new interpreter? I have heard some people think that he does not get the nuances of what Marcelo really says, particularly in the "Spygate" interview. Do you agree.

2. You say at the U23's games, "who you see and what you hear in the chat going on around" is interesting. Wouldn't that interest "spys" from another club? Actually your not a "spy" from another club are you?

He mainly shares the love for KP George.

14 Jan 2019 17:36:39
Don’t think it’s controversial George! We’ve looked after him.

I was watching Rob Price today, he spent time before during and after the game with Izzy and a number of the others. Obvious he has a key relationship with the players recovering.

We talk a lot about investment on here, and it’s clear that we have made a strong investment in key backroom staff that really make a difference. I think that has had an impact on players like Bamford and Brown. The players are being worked hard but also being well looked after.

I wouldn't have a problem with young Izzy staying George, even though I haven't seen him play, apart from against us :)

We are also thinking abouyt a loan deal for Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. used to be highly thought of a few years back when he was contending to be the Arsenal No1 but it never materialised with Wenger preferring to stick with Szczesny.

Reported interest in a loan for 29 year old Jefferson Montero, also of Swansea - another international winger and would come with experience of the Prem as well as the Ecuador national team.

apparently we are part of the 'race' to sell more papers - i mean, to sign 27 y/ old Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes - 20 goals in 36 this season. spent his career in the States and has represented his country 40 times.

Daniel James of Swansea linked.

14 Jan 2019 13:17:34
Would prefer Jarrod Bowen of Hull if I am honest. I think he has more chance of impressing in the Premiership than James, and I don't want Clarkes progress to be hampered by a player only just better than him.

I don't think that James is better than Clarke, Bowen on the other hand, well, next season when we're in the Prem :)
