We are appealing Struijk’s red card. Phil Hay reported in The Athletic this morning that the Club was expected to do so, and has now said confirmation has been received that the relevant papers have now been submitted to the FA.
Given that former referees are reported to have said the challenge didn’t merit a red, and perhaps more pertinently Harvey Elliot has said it didn’t, you’d hope the appeal would have a good chance of being successful.

In the meantime while the appeal goes through does that mean we can play Struijk against Newcastle or will a decision have been reached by Friday?

I know, AGM. I was going to say that. The Leeds element of the case would stick out like an exceedingly sore thumb if the decision stands, given the precedent would seem to have been set by a very similar case involving Heung-min Son last season.
