Looks like warnock has accepted that he won't be getting the funds before the close of the window (unless we're lucky with the takeover) so has resorted to loans. This might not be such a bad move because if all goes to plan and we get promoted with the loanee striker getting some goals, then we are likely to sign him on a permanent basis anyway!

Complete smoke screen from NW takeover has been completed new owners to be announced on the pitch prior to kick off. NW has already moved to close in on 3 permanent moves today, two will be unveiled neither are FP.i

Paul Connolly has joined Portsmouth on a short term loan.
Lets hope he impresses and secures a permanent move away!

Hope Pompy can get him full-time, he should be decent at that level and it'll help their rebuilding process. Can't help but sympathise with Pompy can you?

I met billy painter and connoly in antalyia airport in turkey, funny enough on the same plane. we approached him, he's a decent guy but conoly was sat down eating hariboes!:O They both said they wanted to stay... P*SS OFF..!

Lust said that they expected the takeover to be completed before the wolves game. Wouldn't it be amazing if it was announced just before kick off that it had been completed! That would be sure to create maximum atmosphere at ER!

Hate to say it but LUST are not really helping the situation. I know they have good intentions at heart, but these announcements have only served to build fans hopes up, only to dash them and then give hope again. When the wolves game has been and gone with no sign of a takeover, fans' hopes could be crushed beyond repair.

The atmosphere will be great anyway come on this is the start of the football season. We have built a strong squad without investment. Let's not become like the prawn sandwich brigade like some clubs we do put part and support our team whatever, let the money men worry about the other stuff

Wish it was true for neil to bring in what he wants and if he does get us up i would love it if he stayed with us nw is becoming a true leeds fan

No fletcher is a big bonus for us though ebanks blake was very prolific at CH level last time around so we need to be very careful

NW admits only way of improving squad now before close of transfer window is by bringing in one loan signing.

Lets hope its a quality striker - Maynard perhaps?

Great news. Ross just signed new 3 year deal. Just need that big target striker for him and Beccs to play off now. Maynard fits the bill well, but looks like it will only be a loan if available

Hi, please define big, it cannot be Maynards height, as Luke is about the same height, and he would not be my idea of a target striker for someone who is taller, i.e. Luciano.

Please tell me this piquionne is not true.if it is I give up.this so called takeover is ruining us at the moment.if it was near then piquionne would be nowhere near.if it doesnt happen then bates is even more better off than last year nett income on players wise.

FP wouldnt be the worst buy he can score goals and is certainly more proven and at a higher level than nicky maynard and is not as injury prone! wot u giving up on like? your club doesnt need you if your willing to give up on them so easily!

No news updates on Picciuonne so hopefully a Sky News blooper. Nothing to say we haven't already signed a striker or that a new signing could be introduced tomorrow, but highly unlikely anyone would play tomorrow anyway......
