Michael Johnson will come in on loan ONLY IF he doesn't make Man City's 25 man squad. same will happen with Smith.

Smiths available on a free it's a foregone conclusion that Newcastle want him out so why wait til then? don't expect smith to come back though

Yet more news on Smith.......It isnt gonna happen. I dont think Johnson will either, if it was gonna happen it would have happened by now.

Micheal Johnson cant keep playing in reserves and developement teams at city. At 23 he needs to make some progress and get in the spotlite. Would be nice if he got his career back on track at Leeds

Smith is a freaking mercenary and isn't coming back, full stop.

As far as I, M aware Michael Johnson will not be able to play for the reserves as they have been disbandedso a loan move is on the cards it just needs the finances sorted out Leeds to pay a portion of his wages

Only thing i would change there is swap Birmingham and West Ham, Birmingham losing out on all there best players, but West Ham still look quite strong.

Personally i feel we will be about 5 places south of there mate, not enough strength in depth and a lack of quality signings will see us pushed out of the playoff spots, we have absolutely no chance of the top two spots with are squad atm.

I dont fancy Leicester at all, Sven is a joker. He always rocks up at a club, spends loads of cash and then gets out of town. West Ham will be champions i think. Best we can hope for unless there are significant signings is about 8th-10th i think.

We have improved season by season under SG, last year it was all doom and gloom when Beckford left and we had a great season, yes it tailed off at the end b ut most of us were thinking it was a season to consolidate and stay up. I for one have faith in SG and think we will be right up there with the automatic spots however tough the competition. MOT

We finished 7th last season and to be honest once our defence is sorted we will make the play offs. We dont need quality signings we just need to improve our team moral and up we go. {Ed032's Note - and we need to get behind the lads and make elland road the fortress it once was

I strongly disagree with the above comment. We have only lost Killa and Johnson, and at times i wish like many johnson didnt even have a left foot. IThe arrival of Brown will strenghten the middle of the park. And in terms of Kasper, we are heavily linked with Stockdale on loan who is a better keeper. For the back four we have the return of Kisnorbo, although uncertain of how he will respond to his injury, was a rock in league 1 for us. Although i agree with some that we need a few signings to strengthen the squad, we are linked with good players that will enable us to surpass last season and push for the play offs. Also i expect players such as Nunez to take off this season.

So lets get behind the lads instead of comparing them to other teams.

I just find it difficult to see where the results are gonna come from An above poster says we've only lost Bradley and the Killer. We've lost Somma for 6 months or something and we've let Kasper go.

It's all good and well that we have all these midfielders, but they can't all play Nunez has looked awesome in pre-season, but where's he gonna play?
Are we gonna switch to a 4-4-1-1 and play him in the hole? In which case, who's gonna be the midfield?
You'd assume Maxi and Snoddy on the wings and Howson and Brown in the centre... And Brown won't be able to play twice-a-week at 34... that's the problem with the more experienced players in this division. Experience is all good and well, but it's no use if you've got no proven cover when the older guy is knackered after a Saturday

I strongly disagree with an above poster's criticism of Bradley Johnson. He was absolutely outstanding last season... proven when we were on a good run, only lost to Cardiff (twice) in something like 22 matches and then I was there at the Liberty Stadium, watching Swansea walk through our midfield because of no presence Without Bradley, our central midfield had no defence whatsoever

I really hope I'm proven wrong here.
It's brilliant news that we look to be keeping Maxi and Snoddy. And we have cover for them in White and Sam.
Having Luciano back will be a plus and I think Rossy deserves a chance. I always liked Nunez, he was quality for Scunny - so that's a plus. I love Paddy, so that was a key contract negotiation.
Aside from all the nagativity, we can battle - but we'll be overachieving if we make the play-offs {Ed032's Note - good post.

Covs manager and chairmen have claimed that clingan is staying but they said that about westwood and fox so i think they'll sell for the right price he also looks unlikely to sign a new deal at Coventry.

Would like to get Greening.... good passer of the ball, experienced and has played at a good level for a long time. He is rom York as well so is somewhat a local. Think he is going to Forest though.

Ed do you think that Lichaj is the problem to our Rb/Lb defensive problems? Also his long through could get us a goal or two when things aren't going our way. What do you think? {Ed045's Note - I am assuming you mean solution and, I think he has proved himself perfectly capable of being our Rb in this league, he has pace, a good tackle, and has time on his side(he's stick quite young), I would like to see him permanently though.

I think lichaj is ok but to be honest i dont see him as a solution to anything. We have a very big problem within our team.... And its not individuals... But i was at every game last season home and away, our problem is the gulf between our midfielders n defenders. When we dont have the ball we look so exposed. I think the signing of brown will help that though. (i hope) {Ed045's Note - Yeah i agree, with a solid Def Mid player, we should be able to stop a leaky defence.

Somma injury rumours are true, headline confirmed on OS, no story behind link yet tho...

SG says there isnt a timescale on his injury it could be alot shorter or longer than expected as hes damaged a cruciate ligament

daily star reports Grayson is on the verge of bringing sanchez watt back for a third season. what do u think about this ed? {Ed045's Note - I'm not sure myself, if we sign him this time we need to actually use him as he didn't figure much last season (also missed game winning chances at crucial times) but what does it say about Gradel or Snodgrass?

Watt, IMO, is a truly, truly awful player. He is nowhere near good enough for Championship level.

Ed are we buying or loaning Stockdale? {Ed045's Note - If we do get him it would be more than likely a season long loan, with a view to permanent if we get promoted, but with a 24hr callback clause.

We will not have the option to buy him as fulham will not sell him.
