Was speaking to a West London based journalist tonight. He covers QPR and works with the club closely, is often on the training ground and knows the majority of the players and staff at the club, meaning i have no reason to doubt him.

He told me that Warnock is looking to bring Kieron Dyer to Leeds. Dyer signed a new contract extenstion at QPR this summer however i was told Dyer had the option to extend the contract, NOT QPR or Mark Hughes, Hughes is happy to let Dyer go.

Warnock has been chasing Dyer all summer, however wage demands are a stumbling block and Dyer will only sign for Leeds if we match his QPR wages which i'm told are '' Far in excess of what Leeds United are currently willing to pay '' .

I was also told Warnock is prioritising other signings over Dyer, however should Snodgrass leave, Leeds, QPR and Dyer are 99.9% certain to come to an agreement.

Believable9 Unbelievable47

Great sign him on big wages for him to get injured in the first couple of weeks. No thanks {Ed020's Note - gotta agree with you, throughout his career he's been a liability with injuries, and i still kinda hold a grudge for him kicking off at bowyer when they both played for newcastle!! lol}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate, Can't see this happening at all. I don't think Leeds will be anywhere near KDs radar. -DB

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes an has been and passed it,please, please, please NW dont sign this man!! markymafia

Agree0 Disagree0

No point in even considering Dyer! How many games has he played in the last 3 seasons - don't think it's many. AB

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, I just don't believe this. Would be nonsensical. Would be no more an adequate replacement for Snoddy than Paddy Kenny! Wouldn't touch the guy with a bargepole -was briefly promising in about 1998! Chapel A

Michael Tonge will have his Stoke City contract terminated tommorow, allowing the midfielder to link up with Neil Warnock once again. The former Sheffield United man was previously happy to see out his contract at Stoke however Neil Warnock has tempted the player to depart the club where he has made just 12 appearences in 4 years.

Andy Gray is also set to sign a 1 year deal with Leeds and he will line up for the Whites at Farsley on friday night.

Believable8 Unbelievable31

Can see this being true but not sure about Tonge, seems to have been pretty much off the radar for years so wouldn't know what to expect should this be true. Was a decent player at Sheff Utd but that was a long time ago! Andy Gray I think would be a poor signing in my view and although he's training with us, I can't see anything going further with him.

Spoke to Becchio in the afternoon and told me a 2 year contract extension will be signed from him and Somma as they pledge futures to the club john fitz leeds15

Believable9 Unbelievable37

You seem to see alot of the players John....have you seen that we are signing the Dutch international goalkeeper Hertz Van Hire? {Ed013's Note - Great Keeper}

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop posting utter crap, go bother some other teams fans you person !

Agree0 Disagree0

I dot get why you don't try and change your name every time you post rubbish about bumping into everyone, at least make it a little more believable

Agree0 Disagree0

So you meet and speak to snoddy and becchio in one day? Guessing you didn't speak to becchio after posting about snodgrass, so surely it would have made much more sense to post the two things together, to make it, at best, slightly believable! To say I don't believe this (or many, if any of your posts) and that they are utter tripe is an understatement

Charlie Brown MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop posting tripe and hertz van hire is great loads of miles left in him. ROBBO {Ed013's Note - He can definatley go the distance}

Agree0 Disagree0

R u from Argentina because I know becchio and he hardly speaks a word of English {Ed013's Note - His English was very good at the "Meet The Team" event last year. He was very good with my son and took time to talk to him}

just had a nice meal in london k b will be out of your lives by next monday . just remember who saved your club .a few years ago

Believable9 Unbelievable28

Of course il remember who saved us from administration and relegation to leugue 1

Agree0 Disagree0

What did you have to eat ...chinese, Italian ,Indian etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm assuming you meant KB kebab? As for saving leeds...he didn't they went into administration wrote off the debt with a creditors coincidentially were his pals who voted him back in. Not been funny if Leeds had owed my pals and they were the biggest creditors then they could have voted me in. Does everyone forget it was dodgy as hell thats why we had a 15 point deduction. Saving the clubs means investing your own money i.e. a cash injection or directors loan into the business to provide cash. HE DID NOT DO THAT!! Save the club? what from 4 years in league one...having a laugh

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you kb you saved us you made us proud again after sir peter r

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you KB for making us proud again? of what? you can't judge a KB against Ridsdale, both were just as bad but in different ways...you seriously a supporter of bates? I'm not a anti bates for the sake of it, but all he's done is use the clubs revenues to generate money for him to take out in tax 'efficient' ways and invested in loss making projects such as yorkshire radio. He has not invested even the clubs profits into the team let alone additional long-term investment for the future. You seriously thanking him?? Or is this a wind up?

Sebastian Squilacci is set to complete a season long loan move to Leeds tommorow. The French international has several loan options in Ligue 1 and Seria A however he would like to stay in England. Squilacci was impressed by Leeds United as a club, citing the fans as a crucial factor in his decision when we spoke today when Arsenal and Leeds have met in the FA Cup for 2 consecutive seasons. I was told Arsenal will be paying a substansial amount of his wages which are in excess of 40,000 pounds a week.

For those doubting me, having studied in France for 2 years i became friends with someone who was also friends with Sebastian, i was introduced to Sebastian at a party and we have been in contact ever since, knowing i was a Leeds fan he sent me a text saying, you might be seeing alot of me next year ;) . I quizzed him on this and got this information. The deal is all but done.

Believable15 Unbelievable30

Post ur name. This is utter bull sh!t. I would stake my mortgage this doesnt happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, steady on tiger, Ed prefers people not to swear.

I think the main reason that Jackanory never made a comeback is because of the tall stories like this one on these rumour sites.

Maybe Arsene got him a season ticket to ER at the Emirates secret santa because he likes the fans so much.

Leeds are set to complete the signing of versatile MK Dons midfielder Luke Chadwick. The experienced former Premier League winner is set to pen a 2 year deal with the whites after meeting boss Neil Warnock on wednesday. Reports in Milton Keynes suggest Billy Paynter could be part of the deal however i cannot confirm this. {Ed013's Note - This is a new one. Would fans forgive him for playing for Stretford Utd?}

Believable13 Unbelievable26

Would be a good addition i think. Also do people forgive Strachan? {Ed013's Note - That was my next question!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he's better at football than modelling ! He looks like Freddy Kruger on a good day an a makes Martin Keown and Peter Beardsley look like the Dream Boys ! Ha ha ha
Seriously though, cant see this happening. If Fergie got rid of him and he's dropped down the divisions, then he's not likely to have got any better over night to warrant a shuffle up the divisions to a team aiming on promotion ! No way Warnock would want him, your talking bulls**t mate.

Didn't the schools break up this week? Looks like we can get more postings from our very own resident Billy Liar!

Agree0 Disagree0

So Fitzy.. which pub was Snoddy in? Or was he in the bookies? I'm from Wetherby, moved away a couple of months ago and most of the lads frequented town, it's only 2 miles from TA.. they don't talk to people about football matters that are personal.. even a hair dressed I know who cuts some of their hair never gets insider info.. so when Fitz say's he's spoken to so and so and so and so have said this and that.. what he means is.. I've just woken up on a roundabout with pains in my rear and a foggy memory of leprechauns wearing PVC clobber!

In the coming 3 weeks we can expect to a lot of new players. These will be Luke Varney, Lee Peltier, Rodolph Austin, Reece Wabara, Kim Ojo, Martin Cranie, Tommy Lee and possibly Andy Gray depending on other targets falling through. This should all be after the takeover!
TOM MOT

Believable14 Unbelievable28

Is this the same takeover what was gonna happen weeks ago face facts no one wants to bye into you no ambition so why bother

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you (not original post)?
You obviously aren't a Leeds fan, so why post comments on a Leeds site. Go forth
There obviously is some type of take over, and the list Tom posted are all possibles. Rob MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

You think you'll be really rich because you might be taken over, yet your targeting players like Andy Gray? It just doesn't add up.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only players that will sign out of that list are austin, varney and peltier

No body thinks that at all we dont need a BILLION air to be a big club

Its funny how you dont say what club you support my friend whats up to scared

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last poster, if you was a true leeds fan, you would know what has been said in respect of the takeover/investment,NW stated that whoever it is coming in, arent going to pay silly monies for players, also dont you ever think that such players as Andy Gray will only be backup/squad player becouse NW thinks they are better than what weve actually got??
Why dont you go back to your own team page and stir up sh**e there instead of coming on here and trying to wind everyone up?
Ed, can we put a stop to sh**sti**ers from other clubs posting here?
Paul MOT {Ed013's Note - I have to allow them mate and to be fair he does have a point, as do you. If we do end up with a little money I would like to see a decent striker signed. Not someone that left us years ago, only to be released from Barnsley! However, in Neil we trust}

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Kim Ojo in a Leeds shirt next season, great forward in my opinion.

-WhiteForLife

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed , the site is called leeds rumours , why do you HAVE to put posts on by other fans , the bitterness in their posts is amusing but leeds fans have more pressing things to do with their time than to read them . {Ed013's Note - Mate you are free to post on their sites. They are obviously looking for a reaction so don't bite. By them not leaving a name or a Team they support shows weakness. Grow taller my friend}

ESPN understands that Leeds United are on the brink of a takeover, which could be completed in the coming days.

PA Photos
The future direction of Leeds United could be announced in the coming days

Leeds have been in talks with a group of investors for some time, fronted by Bahrain-based Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, a Leeds United fan who failed with a takeover bid in 2003.

After protracted discussions and countless rumours, an ESPN source has said: "A takeover is now imminent, it could happen any day."

ESPN contacted current owner Ken Bates in Monaco, who refused to comment on the possibility of an impending change in ownership.

Bates told ESPN: "I am here in Monte Carlo but I am making no comment at all. If anything happens you will be the first to know."

Bates also refused to confirm that the party involved was in fact the reported Bahraini investors. Bates, though, did confirm that "an investor" has been granted an extension to the usual business process of due diligence, where the club's finances are examined ahead of a possible takeover.

Former Chelsea owner Bates added that has he has signed a confidentiality agreement, meaning that he cannot discuss any aspect of any potential takeover.

Hopefully we will sign Austin and a striker if we gonna sell Mccormack which looks likely.

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Looking at our possible team this year im confident that its better than the team we ahd for most of last year.
paddy,peltier,lees, & Drury is much more solid than lonergan,lees,Kisnorbo,(bruce / OBrien / O Dea) White / robinson

Green,Austin,Rogers and snoddy should be just as good as Snoddy, Clayton, Brown & White

We also add Somma to our strikers and things look a lot more promising.

Only if we can keep the Key players like Snoddy / Ross / Luciano

Agree0 Disagree0

If mccormack goes we need 2 strikers at least to come in ,still neen another winger that can play both sides a RB and maybe another CB i think zac Thompson will be our sub midfielder and can play at the back .

Its looking almost certain that Austin is coming to Leeds United; going on the strange way in which the OS has approached it, we don't usually advertise our interest like that with other players. Strange!
I have a feeling due to Peltier's previous link with Huddersfield, if we have both submitted the supposed £600,000 then he may sway more to town end over united, would be a shame however after missing out on Ward also.
The beckford rumour has very much dried up and although i'm a Leeds fan that would LOVE to see him back at ER i just don't see it happening, however i feel if McCormack is due to depart the funds we recieve could pave the way for a decent forward to accompany Becchio.
1 final point, due dilligence has been taking place now for what seems like a life time to any leeds fan, and we all want this torture to end- but with the hints dropped by NW in this mornings interview i think we can only be getting ever closer, my estimate between 2 days and 8!
RyanMOT

Believable7 Unbelievable3

The strange announcement on the OS was in responce to Colin's interview on Talksport.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to that ESPN due dilligence isn't
just about the prospective buyer. The finances of the club have to be interrogated. Can you imagine the hornets nest that is Ken Bates fiscal structure. I bet he's got more offshore bank accounts than the entire Italian government !

Agree0 Disagree0

Peltier will have been told that Leeds is the marquee club in the division, he will choose us over Hudds easy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin has agreed a contract, we just need to find the money before Brann decide to up their asking price.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have a good chance.... it is very difficult to go back after having moved to Leicester as they are a bigger team than HD. He is not going to take a step backwards!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree in that PELTIER will not go back to Huddersfield. He knows LEEDS are the Marque club. If he loves the area it will be home territory for his family but a new lease of life with Leeds rather than back to the old club he couldnt wait to get away from.

Neil Warnock has confirmed he is hoping to conclude a deal to sign Jamaican international Rodolph Austin sooner rather than later.

The 27-year-old, who can play in central midfield or at the back, is currently playing in Norway with SK Brann and the United manager is a long-time admirer.

The boss took Austin on trial at QPR last summer, but was unable to conclude a deal to take him to Loftus Road. However, he has renewed his interest once again, and is now hopeful that a deal will be agreed to bring the player to Leeds.

"I don't think there's anything agreed at this stage, but we're in conversations with the club," said the United boss.

"From what I've read in the papers they want to play him next weekend, but I'm hoping we can tie a deal up and get him as soon as possible in the early part of next week.

"I like him. I had him at QPR and would have loved to have signed him then. I've kept tabs on him since then.

"He's very flexible. He's just as good at full back or centre back, and gives us a presence in midfield." So Warnock has officially declared his interest via the OS now! So sign him up and let's get promoted! Hope Ross McCormack stays, and I hope Snodgrass does, not too fussed about Aidy White, if he wants to go then let him go, should appreciate the career oppourtunity he has been given by Leeds United and give something back, and as for signing for Derby, it will prove he only wants money, not medals and honours! Don't want players like that, play for the shirt or move elsewhere! PickersLUFC

What a step back that is .id understand if it was a premier league club or some body in Europe

If White won't sign a contract we need to take what money we can from Derby, rather than having to hang around whilst a tribunal sets a fee and then wait longer to see if anyone will pay that fee or if it then becomes a dutch auction.

when has snodgrass or mccormack ever said they want to move away from leeds? yeah. thought so, i may be ranting but at the end of the day i want some belief in leeds fans. we are going up. MOT.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

That's just because we're a big club. We're in the top 3 or 4 in the 'to get promoted' betting list every single year. In my experience betting on Leeds United generally ends in disappointment! Unless it's in the days before they'd cottoned on to Ian Harte's free kick abilities where you could still get 33/1 on him being first goalscorer. They were good times. :-)

Reading on the BBC website that Peltier's agent has confirmed that Leeds have submitted a 600k bid in writing for the young man. If that is true, there must be money available from somewhere...and it's not from the sales of Clayton and Lonerghan as I guess they are spent or earmarked for others. Whether or not we get him or whether other readers actually want him, the fact that we have submitted such a bid in writing has got to be positive. Yes, before others say, I do know agents can make things up, bids can be withdrawn etc but I see this as a positive. Then again, maybe I just want to believe!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I think it is worth noteing he will be match fit as he is half way though the season, so I doubt NW would be too fussed to bring him in to do circuts with the squad, he would want him to be playing football. So good chance he might join the team in a couple of weeks.

If you imagine Neil Warnock as head of a department that has little to do with (other than transfers) the financials of the club.
Through professional courtesy from the board means he'll be getting updates on the investment/takeover etc. However his budget is made up at the moment of the usual 1/17 of the pot that Bates has allocated him and any money made from transfer sales.
If the club was to come out and say that a transfer deal is going through then all NWs transfer targets would instantly double in price.
His piece in the YP the other day saying "Don't expect a spending spree" was as much a message to fans as a message to the clubs where his targets are.
He is showing better transfer acumen than Grayson however. Who's only ideas seam to be to poach his old Leeds players and then try to hijack and of Warnocks targets.

Expect Varney and or Norris to sign by Friday.
Expect Austin to come in either by friday or next week.
Peltier deal is going to get ugly and I don't believe we have the expendable cash to bully others out of the market.

Beckford is long shot but Warnock would be daft not to enquire.

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Warnock has met the new owners been told his job was safe

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally, a sensible, well-thought out and accurate opinion on the current state of play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Graysons transfer policy of poaching old players and hijacking NW's targets seems a sound one to me, after all if he'd have stayed Leeds would have ended last season in the play-offs with those players, instead, NW came in, immediately rubbished all the players and de-motivated them. So why wouldnt SG want players he knows can achieve a play-off poistion who will be fired up to stick it to NW. SG outthinking NW.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also i suspect it will be viewed as more believable coming from NW's lips as apposed to cap't birds (L)eye. If ha came out with anything every bit of sinew would instinctively reject what he had to say as bulls***. I JUST HOPE bates has not hoodwinked NW. I do however remain optimistic the deal is going through.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing to do with Bates hoodwinking Warnock , he is too wily a charachter not to know the state of play , before , now and after , IMO the takeover will happen , the funds will not be mega and we need to forget about bates as he is clearly going - if not he would be breaking all sorts of confidentiality agreements and saying he is going nowhere. Also , we need to move on from talking about Grayson who left us with massive deadwood we will be lucky to shift and now we need to trust we have the right manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's one in, one out until the TO happens or fails... after that no-one outside the club knows. It feels like if it does happen this won't be a mega-rich TO though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm feeling really optimistic.
Neil Warnock openly stated that he nearly left Leeds. Obviously he wasn't entirely in the loop when the takeover started. After losing Joel Ward he obviously though KB was back to his old ways and breaking his promises. Also why would Warnock stay if he wasn't going to get what he thought he needed to make a promotion push. I think the mear fact that he's still LUFC manager is proof enough of investment/takeover. -DB

Peltiers agent has announced both leeds and huddersfield have both put 600k bids in, player yet to agree personal terms yet

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Why would they put in 600k bids if leicester rejected hudderfields 650k bid last week?

Agree0 Disagree0

As i understand, Huddersfield have had a bid of £750K turned down and no fee is agreed with either Leeds or Huddersfield, and with NW hands tied at the moment, i cant see any bid for any player by Leeds going above what he is getting in the way of sale money, so expect no one arriving at Leeds for above £400K

So this one is miles out. He is huddersfield's man.

Wanted to point out to anyone that are less than inspired by the current signings, compare what we have brought in so far to last year, Pearce much better than O'Dea, Drury in my opinion much more solid than White, Kenny better than Lonnergan, Green better than brown. With rumoured signings Peltier is better than Connelly and although can't really tell from the youtube clips but Austin looks a player and likely better than Clayton. Just saying, think Warnock has made some quality signings so far and I think will continue to do so. I am mildly optimistic for the season ahead for once. MOT

Believable21 Unbelievable4

Exactly my thoughts regarding player signings to date, however wouldn't mind keeping White and as you stated is hard to judge Austin until we actually see him but he surely is no mug if Stoke and then QPR were interested in him previously. MOT SussexLeeds

Pearce much beetr than ODea, Drury White - and you'd know that would you, never actually have seen him play a game yet?

Agree0 Disagree0

Drury is a much better left back than white... He's also much older! MOT Peter

Agree0 Disagree0

Just an opinion mate from ACTUALLY seeing them play a number of times. I am not having a go at the players effort last year but ODea was not a great defender, often out of position and not commanding the defence. White, although quick and not bad going forward (End product lacking however) made me nervous when he was tracking back near his own area and looked suspect in defence on more than one occasion. Like I say only an opinion.

I must admit I haven't been listening to Yorkshire radio this morning but I just wonder with regards to peoples posts if NW has let 'a bit too much slip' as a tactful way of reassuring the supporters?!

It's no secret that the fans are desperate for some news so NW talking about how 'he knows more than he can divulge' and 'the new people' maybe is just a positive way of keeping the fans in the loop without breaking the confidentially agreement supposedly in place!?

This can only be brilliant news either way :)Scot MOT! {Ed045's Note - Agreed, things must be moving forward for NW to announce them as inconspicuously as he did.

Also slipped into statement from NW on OS about "still being in the process of due dilligence" so it would seem things are still happening all be it slowly, that said given the timings and from experience and a mate thats (still) involved with corporate stuff (NOT LUFC) I am guessing that due dilligence must be close to complete and it is now probably a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's that are holding things back. Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2012 09:50:22
With our first pre-season game only 2 days away I think there will be big things happening for us on the transfer front in the next 10days. The takeover side of it will take as long as it takes and I'm not worried about it as it will happen when the time is right.

I can see players leaving before new ones come in but when we kick off in August for our first league game I do believe that Neil Warnock will have assembled a squad strong enough to push for promotion... I wouldn't expect any big players to arrive in this transfer window to be honest, I think NW will wait and see where we are in January and then spend big to give us that big push in the last few months of the season.

Players out this window I think will be:
McCormack - £1m
White - £500k
Snodgrass - £2m

Players In I think will be:
Austin - £350k (he will sign next week)
Varney - £200k
Peltier - £500k
DJ Campbell - £1m
Buszaky - Free
Beckford - £1m

Believable9 Unbelievable7

I'm not so sure Beckford or Buszaky will sign but I hope they do, I'd rather we get Beckford or Buszaky than Varney but this is only personal preference. Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass is going nowhere mate, don't you read the OS? And if he actually does get sold, it certainly won't be for a poxy 2 mill.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford cost Leicester 4 mil so i don't think they would accept 1 mil . he is not worth the wages he will ask for .

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicester have realised their mistakes from last seasons spending, they turend down a reported 650k for Peltier and paid 750k for him so wont want to lose out financially, doubt he will come for 500k and so selling Beckford at a 3m loss no chance!

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney is a strangepotential signing lots of peolpe unsure about him.The only persons judgement that matters is Warnock personally I think that he would be better on the wing than up front, he is very fast and strong and willing to fight for every ball just what I think we need on the left but that's just my thoughts (and he is very skillful!). sharky lufc

CONFIRMED: Rodolph Austin deal is looking to be tied up ASAP, will give us a much needed presence in centre of midfield, also SK Brann valued him at over £2m a season back yet we seem to be on the verge of snapping him up for between £200k and £400k which would seem a bargain, I am slightly worried however by his 5 yellow cards and 1 red card in 11 games so far this season, but maybe this is the type of player we need. If snoddy stays well and good, if he goes (warnock holding out for as much as he can) we can get three half decent players in for the money. With either Rosco or M-Smith...doesn't really matter. YEP reporting:

"Having refused Norwich’s approach for Snodgrass, Leeds are weighing up an offer of £500,000 from Derby County for Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Aidan White.

White, 20, is out of contract at Elland Road and has turned down a new deal but Leeds are entitled to compensation for their academy product on account of his age.

White’s fee will be set by a tribunal unless Leeds reach a private agreement to sell him to another club"

Don't want to lose White, but in my mind I think this would be a good price for him, I am pretty sure a tribunal wouldn't give us that much money, and with Aidy still unprepared to sign a contract this would give us some much needed transfer cash to play with?
