So Nigel Adkins is the name being touted about as next to take over as manager of LUFC.

I personally don't like the bloke, however his record is pretty impressive, he plays a good style of football with very good end results and knows what it takes at this level.

As for NW, give the guy a break, he came in at a very difficult time last season, and this season hasn't been any easier with the ongoing takeover saga. He was never really supported in the transfer market, a few token signing's but nothing of any great stature and I think our league position shows that. I sure hope the board back the new man, whoever it may be, better than they have NW, otherwise we may well be in the same position this time next season.

Happy retirement NW.

You're absolutely right about us being in the same position as we are now this time next year if we don't get the investment. however I don't agree with you about NW taking over at a difficult time, because had SG been given that same support you refer to and if we had not sold the guys who were performing well for us then we would have been more likely to learn the lessons of last season and succeed this. Its the lack of cash supporting good footballing decisions we need and we haven't had it. That goes right back to the top Smurf and now GFH. They are not supporting the manager now and haven't done for years to the required level.

Adkins is favourite for the Reading job.

Well I think gfh will wait until end of season and get Shaun o'driscoll as manager.

"Adkins is favourite for the Reading job"

Adkins is probably favourite for ANY job that comes up now, doesn't mean we won't get him.

I totally agree with your comment. Warnock has been lied to and ending up carrying the can. Even if he gets well paid for it.

Liverpool have rejected loan bids from Championship sides Leeds, Cardiff and Bolton for struggling 18-year-old winger Raheem Sterling.

Looks like Warnock saw my post the other day. At least it shows some sort of ambition.

Warnock gone Naylor in charge for Ipswich Atkins is the number one target.

Believable14 Unbelievable57

Atkins is now odds on favourite to takeover, expect an announcement this week

Agree0 Disagree3

Best hurry up leister are after him aswell as persons job is on the line MOT. Jp

Agree0 Disagree1

Someone should tell him he's 'gone' then because he's still giving interviews on the official site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock will not go, unless pushed by gfh.
there is no money to pay off warnock if they sack him, so he's sitting pretty.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sick of all this colin will stay untill the end of the season what is the point of him going now

Agree1 Disagree1

Adkins will go to Reading we will be as ambitious as ever and promote Naylor odds on you'll see.

Agree1 Disagree1

Time to lay off Warnock now and support the team till the end of the season. Already said he will go at the end of the season unless we get a replacment before so not sure what the Warnock out chants achieve

In response to the fifth reply, the point in getting a new man in sooner rather than later is that he would have a chance to assess the current players and ascertain what is needed in the summer. It would allow us an opportunity to go in for better players earlier instead of constantly losing out to our rivals.
