BBC Leeds reporter Adam Pope states, "#lufc Been told Bates is due in Leeds tomorrow.Programme notes mention documents need finalising between lawyers re the deal with investors."
Bates skipped the game tonight, maybe he didn't fancy the 1000+ fans outside the East Stand protesting or maybe even he couldn't take yet another midweek defeat. It's not like Bates could do anything about the squads capability of handling Tursdays with a squad large enough to handle it is it?
On a plus side lets just hope he's in Leeds tomorrow to finally sign the deal a sod off into the Sun Set

Bates always flies in wednesday and flies back saturday this counts as 2 days. dont forget he is a tax exile.
Agree0

Bates was due to attend last nights game however. So something changed, either he didn't fancy the protest or he thought he'd give it a miss as he doesn't actually support Leeds United, and with a sale imminent why would he bother?
Agree0
Disagree0
He is taking the mick out of us, things are moving slowly. how much slower can they go? also its all about investment in his notes, not take over so those wanting completely rid of him could be very upset.

All that remains is that KB signs the deal. Everything else is in place. He may be saying something different but that it, as it stands. Apparently, he is expected in Leeds during the next day or two. You never know...here's hoping!

NW says he's struggling to find a loan striker he wants. "People asking if I'll be on the phone tomorrow but I might as well go fishing.".....need to know anything else about Bates financing of the club?
Believable15
Unbelievable2
Rather than me put my hard earned money into the club and get 2 tickets for Forest and Everton (not much change out of £100 btw) I think I will go 'fishing' or find something better to do with my time. This sums things up at the moment, if NW cant be bothered because he's not getting any help from KB then why should we.
Agree0
Disagree0
Didnt he end that quote with... all my targets have gone? suggesting the any players available are not his first choice rather than we have no funds.
Agree0

I think that was more a statement about the availability of good strikers on loan. However you're right we couldn't afford the wages of any premier league striker. -DB

Surely he becomes a target as everyone knows he's available
He's proven at pretty much premier league and loves the club

Some of the replies to this post are amazing, yeah NW missed out on his preferred loan targets, because he has NO FUNDS. I'm off fishing...
Agree0

I feel totally for NW. to say he will go fishing is his way of saying come on Bates pull your finger out, sign the deal and let me have at least a decent chance of being able to compete with other clubs. Its been known since pre-season that we need at least 1 other striker and a bit of pace out wide, but here we are half a dozen games into season and still no further forward. its a joke!

Leeds chairman Ken Bates has confirmed that the club remain the subject of a takeover bid, but it is only progressing slowly.
The Elland Road club announced on 26th June they had entered an exclusivity period with potential investors but now, 84 days later, the situation remains unresolved.
Leeds have only released a statement to confirm that the exclusivity period had ended but talks remain on going.
And 80-year-old Bates said on Tuesday evening: "Despite the confidentiality agreement, stories keep appearing with varying degrees of accuracy as evidenced by the statements put out by LUST (Leeds United Supporters Trust).
"That included a TV interview that said a deal was 'imminent'. It wasn't then and is progressing slowly now. In football everybody expects everything now - but the real world is different."
Writing in the club programme ahead of tonight's clash with Hull City, Bates added: "The current situation is that as I write, the appropriate documents have not been finalised between the lawyers."
GFH Capital, who are working on the deal on behalf of a Middle Eastern consortium, have sent representatives to one of United's games this season but have not made any comment on the nature of the talks.
Disgruntled Leeds fans have arranged a protest against Bates, who they accuse of putting off-field investments before the purchase of players, ahead of and during Tuesday night's Championship game.

I think you will find that we now revert to 1 up front and then an extra man either in midfield or defense . personally i would add an extra defender and play wing backs byram and white play 3 central midfielders - varney ,austin and tonge with diouf just behind poleon . could do with takeover finishing before end of month as we have our easiest run coming up .

You say 99% go support leeds... i was at the game tonight as im a season ticket holder but you clearly wasnt if you think 99% of fans were there.
i didnt hear them announce the crowd figures but there was a loads of empty seats.. id say alot more than 1% are staying away.
i myself will go till the end of the season and not renew my season ticket while bates is there and i wont spend a penny whilst there and this is the 1st season i wont be buying the kits either untill that leech has left our club
Agree0

I was at the game & the gate was announced towards the end of the match 19,000 and some (forgot the actual figure) but definitely not even 20,000. So fans are clearly voting with their feet which is their perogative. Will be reluctantly joining them shortly if KB is'nt gone soon. Can't bear to watch the disintegration for much longer. No depth and suffering already due to injurys.
Lets have the takeover/investment sorted to enable Warnock to put the icing on the cake before it's too late for this season, if it isn't already as most decent available players have gone elsewhere.

Reading along those lines my guess is, any day now were done with him.
If its now down to the lawyers Ken would said by now deal was off would he not ?

Documents with lawayers and await final signature ?... The fact that they havent been signed is a note of caution in that any unhappy party would negotiate any issue to satisfactory conclusion before signing off. I hear takeover is nearly completed from a reliable source. However ive been told not to get too excited because new owners are not exactly loaded and will NOT be throwing cash at our club! Seems to be a business venture thus they will be looking for a return on thieir cash. They have a 5 year plan. Promotion, consolidation, and sell at a huge profit. Think we going to need at least 6 million in january and not be too far off the top to stand any chance of promotion! Just hope new owners agree!!

Agree0

Have heard similar rumours that the new owners are not super rich in the Man city/Chelsea bracket, but they do have more than enough money to push us to promotion and beyond. Once consolidated in the premiership then they know other investors who can add the needed cash to push us to the heights we deserve. These other investors are not as brave as the intial group and want to see the club stabilised in the premiership, basically make sure we aren't a yo-yo club, before risking any money.
