craig mackail smith and ross mccormack going in opposite direction's but mackail smith's wages maybe the stumbling block
Believable23
Unbelievable30
So how can they be going in opposite directions??
Agree0
Disagree0
Very doubtful. and even if this were the case, wages would not ne the stumbling block. sounds like a load of made uo s*it
Agree0
Disagree0
Actually, this sounds like a plausible rumour to me. Mackail-Smith is a good finisher -turns well; gets in the Scotland squad ahead of Macca, and plays further forward than Macca. M-Smith could also possibly link up with ex-Posh teammate George Boyd at Leeds -I quite like the sound of that.
Agree0
Disagree0
That sounds like a good deal all round. CMS works his nuts off and next to Becchio will give us an extra dimension. He turned the game at ER when we played Brighton.

Leeds will wait to get rid of a few players before signing any more. By the end of this month Nunez, Clayton, Bruce and Connolly will be gone. {Ed013's Note - Where to any ideas? I think Bruce will find a club easily. Nunez has a massive contract so will have to go for pennies, Clayton is a difficult one and should bring a bidding war and who in their right mind will take Connolly!!!}

So Warnock signs a one year contract and is retiring at the end of the season but doesn't want to get promoted in his last year as a manager?
Agree0

FFS the season has been over two weeks. Get real, we will sign some good players, and miss out on others before August. None of that shows a lack of ambition. Trust in NW and LUFC Slingsby White
Agree0

What on earth are you guys smoking ? There is nowt wrong with NW and his strategy in bringing in players. Things dont happen overnight. Advice for you guys is... Go to sleep and feed that brain of yours some rest. You been thinking toooo hard

NW warnock is on a rolling contrat one year at a time and if he dosnt do good enough they don't offer him a new one
Agree0

Heard it from a realiable source inside Stevenage FC. He looked good against Sheff Utd in play offs and has got some pace. Patience is the order at the moment especially with the new Financial rules coming into play, the agents are now discovering that its reality time and the stupid demands wont happen. We will get the right players for pre-season and i am sure deals are in place but why pay wages for 6 weeks. If it was my business that is exactly what i would do and I am sure my bank manager would agree !!
Agree0
Disagree0
Have a look at your own post mate, "I dont know whats going on, only bates does" direct quote from your post.
You then claim the club wont sign Beckford and they also dont intend to get promotion?
Agree0
Disagree0
The person who posted this has got a bit of stick but i can see his point, NW is great and wants promotion i dont think Bates does. I work very closely with top people at a london club (im not football related but work with them on another angle) and i know that clubs chairmen doesnt really want promotion, honest if they go up so do wages, if they only stay for one year they go back down but wages dont on all playing staff so then best players get cherry picked and the rubbish ones stay on better pay. Somone high up at this club said. teams have to know there place even if the fans do not. sad thing is i think bates thinks our place is championship mid-table. the clubs out goings and in going look that way, NW is great but has a job on his hands and if we somehow go up will bates invest in squad? im not so sure he would just plan for life after releagtion {Ed013's Note - I see your point, but promotion to the Premier League makes Leeds a better prospect to a buyer and that is what Mr Bates will do once the club is there. He would have stayed with a yes man manager if he was happy sticking around mid table}
Agree0
Disagree0
Good point ed i hope your right if we are going up NW is the man to do it, i think it will be an eaiser league next year looking at who have gone up and who have come down so fingers crossed it will be our year, i know it wont be the london clubs who i work for as that are happy just not to go down

Joel Ward and Paul Green to sign this week due to Blackpool not getting promoted!
Believable32
Unbelievable14
Why would we want players who consider us second choice, i would retract our interest
Agree0
Disagree0
If they do still decide on Blackpool or another Championship team they're not worth knowing!
Agree0
Disagree0
Deffo retract interest. We want hungry players who want to wear the shirt not money grabbers.
Agree0
Disagree0
Why would someone pick Leeds over potential premier league football. Hate people who still think anyone will sign for us. The reality is we're in the championship and aren't prepared to pay money or decent wages to attract good players {Ed013's Note - Hate people for that, very strong!}
Agree0
Disagree0
Don't be daft people -players are entitled to consider their options. If we take our bats home we'll end up with no one good -anyone good (as Ward certainly is) is going to have options. Common sense surely?
Agree0
Disagree0
Why should a player be 100% committed to join Leeds without considering his options.
A player has every right to consider their options, and had Blackpool got promoted, I would have fully understood Joel Ward agreeing to go there. Blackpool have a wage structure similar to ours so it wouldn't be for monetary gain, but a chance to play in the premiership.
Leeds are not the only club in the world and if you do not support them, then why would they be a no.1 choice for a player.
A player can move for personal reasons, financial reasons, or family reasons. It could simply be the case that a player like Ward would prefer somewhere closer to home.

I disagree, I don't think Kenny is that good and I've seen him play years back to his sheffield days and he is just an average keeper, problem with McCarty is him and loners are quite equal

He has been released? I aint seen that anywhere.
Would be surprised if they released him, he was one of there better players this year. {Ed013's Note - The last I heard they was deciding whether to offer him a years extension}
Agree0
Disagree0
I thought of him as well when I read it on the BBC website but it did state that as WBA are currently managerless he will be out of contract and will only offered a new contract if the new manager wants to keep him.
He's had a good second half of the season and would be excellent in the Championship. Unfortunately I think he'll be looking to stay in the Premiership and I would be very surprised if he doesn't get offered a contract by a Premiership club.

Leeds aren't gonna pay for a player until he's agreed to join the lads weighing up his options. if he agrees to join they will pay the money.let's face it if leeds paid the money now and he didn't join, leeds are not going to get it back it's portsmouth they have nothing, stop putting negative posts on this site what is the point and by the way how do you know this is true? transfers can take time. its a big move for the lad moving 100s of miles away from family and friends it makes sense for him and leeds if you stop to think about it to let him make up his mind in his own time and then you will have a happier player etc.the delay has nothing to do with money!

To the guy who said Beckford has done nothing since he left Leeds...He scored 8 premier league goals for Everton in 32 appearances in his debut premier league season. A lot of which were from the bench and in a team that didn't score many goals.
