MORRISON, Norwich Striker rumoured on YEP to be interest to Leeds as Norwich eye GRAHAM. Ticket prices also being slashed to £15 for Peterborough and Blackpool games. 'Oh my god'.... GFH are coming to their senses. Lets show them we appreciate it and attend.

Believable57 Unbelievable11

I don't really care about the cost, allthough it does help. I'm more bothered about what type of player we are going to buy and what the hell is Warnock doing with this set of players.
Cost never bothered us in league 1 and that's because we had a better team and it looked like they wanted to win something.
OAP DADS ARMY!!!

Agree3 Disagree1

Morrison wants 20k a week, no way is he worth that, keep him at Norwich

Agree0 Disagree0

If Morrison does want 20k a week wouldn't it of been easier and better to pay Snoddy that and keep him here.
foxrat

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see morrison at leeds having seen him play against us for millwall and norwich I rate him as much if not more than bechio

Agree1 Disagree0

I wholeheartedly agree with this post. £15 for a Saturday 3pm game and it is looking like that new signings will have arrived.

Let's suppot this initiative and get behind the club.

Spire White

Agree3 Disagree0

We need creative midfielders or wingers.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Morison is a very effective striker at this level -though I agree that we are desperately short of talent (if not numbers) in midfield. Only Green and, on occasion, Tonge, really have anything to offer in the middle of the park for a team with anything other than mid-table aspirations. In fact, Byram, operating from right back, is probably our best midfielder! Chapel A

Anthony Modeste from Bastia & Michel from Levante potentially if we sell Becchio for a fee of £4M.

Believable7 Unbelievable34

If you did your research, you'd know Modeste is on loan at Bastia from Bordeaux.

Pity people have to make things up

Agree0 Disagree1

Why should we need to sell before we can buy!?

Agree0 Disagree0

We have to sell before we buy as we have no money

on twitter, considering Habib Habibou quite obviously saw the game today and was at Elland Road, it is fair to assume that he is in talks with the club. AND, if he is claiming the Leeds number 9 shirt, that would suggest a deal has been agreed.

Believable60 Unbelievable10

I agree he seems quite open about it let's giv him a warm welcome wen finalised m.o.t

Agree2 Disagree0

Sign the lad up, could be the next Leeds favourite. Look at Becs, he came out Of the blue and is now a Leeds legend. Love Leeds, and stayin positive.

NickLS26

Agree2 Disagree0

Has anyone checked out his stats .......... Appalling

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio is no 10 but he is welcome to take no 9

Agree0 Disagree0

During a Zulte-Waregem game against Lokeren Habibou grabbed and threw a duck over advertising hoardings because it had wandered onto the field...sounds like quite a catch!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Stats aren't appalling but they are mediocre. Not a good signing if we proceed.

Agree0 Disagree0

His stats aren't appalling - he has 20 goals in 57 apps.

World class strikers have a ratio of 1 in 2. Good strikers, of the calibre we want, get 1 in 3. This guy has just over 1 in 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's here at ER done deal

Agree1 Disagree0

You've got to remember he plays for one of the worst teams in the Belgian League so to get 20 in 57 is quite an achievement really, you wouldn't see a Bristol City striker doing that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be happy with this signing. Judging by vids on utube, he's skillful, got good aerial presence and can score goals. Only hesitation is that the championship is surely a step up from the belgium league? MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The Championship is probably on a par with the Belgian league to be honest. Lukaku and Benteke are doing ok from that league, as long as we can give him the service he should do well. He's hardly the "icing" signing we were hoping for though

Dazz {Ed037's Note - Better than OK i'd say}

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays for one of the worst teams in the belgian league?? they are second!!

Agree0 Disagree0

His team are 2nd in the league to Anderlecht - the team that only ever wins the league, not exactly bristol city are they

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this a good thing? Is he any good? Does anyone really know anything at all about him apart from what they've Googled? One Robbie Rogers! (Only joking) Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Just watched a Youtube video of him and although its clearly showing him at his best he seems to score all types of goals from tap ins to decent shots and headers and also sets a lot of goals up so seems like a good player to me from what I have seen

Can't believe what I have been hearing this last week, and even more unbelievable is the amount of negativity amongst so many of my fellow leeds fans. Its disgraceful. You want bates to no longer been in charge, you get it! You want a manager who wants the best for the football club, you get it! you want a team that has a chance of getting a play off place, in my eyes we've got it! At the age of 17, the majority of my life has been spent following a falling club. Over the last 4 years we have once again began to rise, and even with a few hiccups over the last 2 years, we are still in a good position. What i'am now struggling to understand is now that the club has the foundations to push on, it is the negativity of fans which is holding us back. We should be standing by the club, the owners, the manager and most importantly the players. I'm in dismay to the fact that fans are no longer with the team through both its 'ups and downs', but what I do know is that I will still be wearing the badge, and singing the chants no matter of the circumstances, through thick and thin. In Warnock I trust, and more importantly in Leeds I have faith. (Ed please put this on the main rumour page for all to see) {Ed013's Note - Its not a rumour mate}

Believable66 Unbelievable30

Bates is still here as are Harvey & Williams,

Warnock is not the right man for the job.

People are entitled to there opinion.

Agree1 Disagree2

Are you on the payroll to Mr. Bates, Warnock clearly lack tactically abilitys and his style of football belongs to the past.

Agree2 Disagree2

As a 17 year old I would hope you would want a modern fast pace style of football, not this old school tosh we witness week in week out! It don't work and we have players like brown who are not capable of the style of fooball we need to play! Sussex white mot

Agree1 Disagree0

The 12th man....ha?
Teams must love coming to Elland Road, all they need to do is get the supposed 12th man(supporters), wound up and the negativity transfers to the team. The great support that should work in our favour is turned against us by fans that do not understand the simple psychology of the human condition. That is why Leeds have not won as much as they should have in previous years. It is a pity because if everyone got behind the team the 12th man would actually make a difference....he does come out occasionally and it is great to see when it happens.

Agree1 Disagree0

I have to say that for a seventeen year old that is one of the best and most down to earth inteligent posts I have seen on here.
you put other posters who think they know it all in the shade. we all pay our money and are entitled to an opinion but some posts a child of six would be embarrassed with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep taking the pills fella. If you think Warnock is doing a good job you must be in psychiatric care!
Keep those rose tinted glasses on as well. The worlds a much better place!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that you Ken or is it Sean? Either way the club is going nowhere and you obviously never go other wise you would have had enough of this terrible football. Warnock is a dinosaur.

Agree0 Disagree0

I respect your opinion as you are entitled to 1, as are the so called negative supporters, who are also entitled to feel negativity in my opinion as what is happening at the club, a decent team, playing decent football would be a good start, for positivity, agreed we are in a not bad position our home form is apart from 3 loses quite good(so 12th man aren't doing to bad). After years of stagnation, we are just looking for a glimmer of hope that there will be a forward step, by team and board, takeover bought optimism thro positive noises coming from new board members.Aint heard nothing since, and only Tonge and Hall signed, not exactly cause for getting out the champers.I am not looking for anything major, just a sign we haven't been sold a dummy,, MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Since promotion from league 1, have you seen any improvement in team, club ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm 50yrs old, been following Leeds home & away since I was 16, have to say this is 1 of the poorest teams I've witnessed with dreadful longball tactics, it's a shame the team that turns out doesn't have the same passion & desire as the fans, moneys tight so people will not waste it to watch crap football, what makes it worse for me is that my 9yr old is fast losing interest, it's hard work getting him to want to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too bad for too long, too many lies for too long, no investment for too long, no answers to obvious questions like why would you make bates club president when he is hated. You will see the fans get behind the club when GFH or whoever change what is at elland road and has been for years.

Agree1 Disagree0

For 1 I have always supported the team and the players what I don't support is neil warnock who thinks the long ball tactics is good enough no it isn't in interviews instead of of saying it wasnt good enough he singled out playershe replaced rob snodgras with luke varney he let adam clayton go and kept brown neil warnock thinks he is managing wimbledon from the late 80s

Agree0 Disagree0

Here here my fellow leeds brother MoT

Agree0 Disagree0

You havin a laff? you expect us to be positive when a manager waiting to retire is playing people out of position, playing terrible football, and we're charging top whack? get real, people will come back when we have a keen eager to produce an attractive style of play people want to see, 35 yr season ticket holder I for don't like paying my hard earned money to watch the crap we produced at barnlsey, I've had the ups and downs so don't give me the negative fans crap.....

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2013 17:17:34
GFH are full of rubbish and Warnack isn't good enough for LUFC the job is to big for him.

Warnack out now, we won't make the playoff now, so get a new manager in now and get the team playing football ready for next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said! For a young man united are more wise than the negative ones on this site, an the ones who commented above !
These folks will moan even I we win the Premier league and beat Barcalona in the Champions league final. I think it's the only way they feel happy, by moaning all the time, I wish they would go support Hudderfield !
Rob MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Your on another planet ! I genuinely think Neil warnock or ken bates has wrote that no one can be upbeat about how our great club is been run ? Whilst fans have to pay big money to watch the match they are entitled to an opinion we have to protect future generations of leeds fans and we are not there is a bigger picture to those complaints and I agree with the general consensus. If you except what is happening we will eventually lose our passion and what we stand for as leeds fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a good, honest post, but it's wrong, Bates is still here, no money is being spent and worst of all Warnock's 'style' of football is abysmal, have you seen any games? it's truly awful to watch... :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of the mouths of babes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why have we gotten so pessimistic nowadays, it seems like after bates stepped down we started looking for something else to moan at and Warnock and GFH are in the firing line, were still in the play off race. gave them some time and judge at the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO a lot of these so called long term fans could be eating their hats come end of season. There's still time in the transfer window and one or two shrewd signings can make all the difference. We haven't been playin well but we are still in touching distance. Get behind your team. MOT always.

NickLS26

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of comments on this post, but not everyone does that. At time of posting, believeable rating 28, unbelievable rating 11, says alot. Most agree with the original post.

NickLS26

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster, you're 17, give it time.
You have years of disappointment and self-implosion ahead of you, supporting our great club.
Don't worry, we all know we'll be setting the world alight again, one day... we do so every 15 years.
In between, there are some truly terrible times where we drop down the league(s) and make our way through some awful football and managers... trouble is, this time it's lasted a bit too long. Where we should be optimistic about our future, we see very little other than bygone football tactics played by players who weren't good enough, even at their peak.
Crowds don't applaud when they're bored, they grow restless and angry. This is as true of Leeds United as it was the Roman Empire. If the mob isn't entertained, they'll call for someone's head.
But you're young. Give it time and the cynicism will bite, eventually.

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock said judge me on my team, he has brought in loads but they are all average at best.Hall was bought and can't make the bench, drury was bought and not played, peltier was probably most expensive purchase and isn't as good as byram.Kenny isn't as good as ashdown.Brown over the hill, Luke varney is abysmal what next

Agree0 Disagree0

Through thick and thin, it's easy to see where you fall within that comment.
We have a manager who talks before he thinks, plays players out of position, plays slow players who are past their best ahead of youth.
We have so called new investers who don't have much to say about much and week after week the football is terrible and without it seems much of a plan. It's unlikely that we will make it to the playoffs and even if we do there are much better teams in that group. So it's no use in having blind faith. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2013 06:51:00
What a great article from a young guy. We need more supporters like you, never lose the faith .
I am 60 and have had great and bad times following Leeds, you have only seen bad times, I promise you the bad times will be forgotten when the good times return. It will be worth it in the end .
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

I say to a certain extent, you have to blame the players on the pitch, and not the manager when they play badly.

However, there are some players here, which you wonder why they are anywhere near the pitch. He insists on playing a rb at lb (for some bizarre reason), he plays players like Brown who can hardly run, and Varney who can hardly kick a football. Warnock has to take blame for that.

What I don't get, is why he doesn't just play the U18s. There's no way that up and coming young talent like Taylor, Thompson and Dawson aren't better than the dross we play at the moment. Byram has proved that this season, and just look at our record - we have Howson and Delph most recently, and before them, Milner and Lennon, and before them, that great youth team that did actually become our first team (and don't tell me that didn't work). Before that, the likes of Speed, Kelly and Irwin. I'm not going to keep on going, but all the way back to John Charles, we have produced and nurtured top class (and in many cases world class) talent.

Trust in the youth!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am 57 and have seen the good and the bad times, in the standard of football this is worst we have ever seen, my season ticket this year was £750 thanks ken, and we are watching pub team football, I don't expect people to spend their hard earned money watching the crap we are playing, yes we will lift our game for the Spurs game then back to the same old rubbish. GFH need to put up and lets get the players we need before this season becomes lower table rubbish yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing this club has seen grow in the last 4 years is master bates bank balance. The size of the club we should have gone up ages ago! So naive, bates would have wanted the ground filled week in week out but he still wouldn't spend on the team! never wanted to get real quality in. that's why we struggle to get 20'000 attendence each game fans really just arn't getting there hard earned moneys worth (in your case pocket money) and cheated. Why would people waste there saturday afternoon watching a below par (in my opinion) team hoof the ball over there heads, get bullied in midfield and eventully drop points in a game (not every game but story of this season so far). If we bring in the quality, the crowd will turn up, simple as that.

Leeds are looking at taking a young Dutch striker on loan for the rest of the season called luke de Jong can't say I've heard of the the guy my brother is working In Germany and this is the hottest gossip over there he's been injured the last few months and they want him to get some football in ready for next season. There will be no option to buy as they regard him very highly.

Norma white

Believable17 Unbelievable16

He was being linked with prem clubs before his move there so I doubt he'd come to us, even if it is on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Luuk de Jong would be a great signing. Can't see it happening anyway, Spurs, Liverpool and Inter were following him last season

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong is back after injury and playing well for Gladbach. He ain't going nowhere let alone the championship. Incidentally, he was injured when a certain Mr. J. Barton scythed right through him in the UEFA cup. Plus ca change?!

Agree0 Disagree1

He is quality, he won't come to leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

I would doubt that RVP"s dutch understudy would come to us, he played against england at wembley when we was out played so there is no chance, the swedish strker guidetti from city is more realistic!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate youve got the name wrong he's called Hoof de Longball. He is signing next week and we won't need any creative midfielders after he signs.

Sad hearing about the Michael Johnson situation at City, he could have been a great player. I know he'll probably want a break now, but wouldn't it be great if Leeds could snap him up? He'd hopefully settle for fair wages and could be a great asset next to Austin with a few games? With all the experienced pros we have, I could see us turning his career around?

Believable20 Unbelievable38

His career as a footballer is over, he wouldn't last 5 minutes in a match

Agree2 Disagree1

Even if his head was in the right place, which it isn't by all accounts (no disrespect to the lad) it would take over a year to get anywhere near the first team. He is very overweight and would need to lose about 4 stone and get a good pre-season... plus he's got to want it and he doesn't.. so forget it.

Agree1 Disagree1

I would give him a 6 month low contract to give him chance to prove he can get in shape for next season. if he can he'd be a revelation for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the OP - to answer your question "Wouldn't it be great if Leeds could snap him up?" - In short, no, it would be woeful.

With Becchio departing do you think ed ?
To be honest its only because McCormacks been injured that Becchios scored so often, would you not agree that SHOULD £4million be bid for Becchio we should accept regardless who to ?
Imo McCormack brings more to the team than Becchio does, he works harder to make things happen, scores goals too.
I'd take £4million and invest in a winger, Gradel or Snodgrass type.
My opinion anyhow i'm saying what I think.
MORLEY WHITES {Ed013's Note - There is something not right and it goes back to my info in November when Neil was sick of Becchios poor work rate. I think Neil would take a few million for him and bring in someone like Mackail-Smith, it just depends on who would pay the money for him}

As soon as Brighton sign a striker, CMS will sign for Leeds I know some on hear don't rate him but I think him and Ross would be a exciting partnership. When he played against us it surprised me how fast he was.he would link with Diouf as he makes very good runs and as we have seen Diouf can spot a pass. He would be the perfect fit, IMO Warnock has got this one spot on.we just need a bit off luck ie the deal Brighton have on going with the argi striker going though(not Becchio )

Believable15 Unbelievable16

I am not bothered who we sign, we have to start planning well. If Bechio head turned let him go, we may start playing proper football in stead of long ball without. We could use money to fund a couple of hot prospects.

Bechio has done his bit for leeds and I would wish him well, and see who else we can get

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok we for a fact don't know if becchios head is turned the o0nly person to say that is warnock picture the scene leeds birmingham the 1st match j ones interview after match after becchio had secured the draw its important that we keep hold of becchio and byram (putting teams on notice we will listen to offers) leeds barnsley warnock says becchios heads been turned by agents leeds birmingham replay he states that no ones for sale but becchio dictates the long ball that we play oh so badly(warnock forgets the hudders game we played a great passing game where becchio scored 2) and then he warnock on saturdays saying no player is for sale but if he was oiffered 4 mill he would be daft not to consider it giving the price away if anyones heads turned its warnocks
