Using rules made up by Rob Harrogate White on a previous post of mine, we now have to put that posts are our opinion, that we are not in the know, we do not speak to anyone at LUFC and this is only a rumour. Is this a good enough disclaimer Rob?

Anyway on with the rumour, Norris is leaving in the transfer window, initially on loan to Portsmouth his former club but with an option to sign for free in the summer if it works out for both parties. I have mates at Uni who support Portsmouth and this is something they have heard.

Believable21 Unbelievable10

Heard something similar although I only heard about it being a loan deal not a transfer too

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sure that Norris is not out of contract until 2015, therefore unless Leeds buy out his contract I can't see him leaving on a free

Agree1 Disagree0

In my opinion, I like your opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

You can leave on a free transfer and not have to be paid off. If the clubs agree a price and that price happens to be £0 then it just goes through like any normal transfer. {Ed001's Note - a player still gets a pay off, unless they hand in a written transfer request. They receive a percentage of their remaining contract and 5% of the transfer fee. Obviously the 5% would still be £0, but the remainder of their contract percentage can be a significant amount. I remember Joe Cole's free transfer to West Ham United cost Liverpool millions of pounds, they were haggling because he refused to give up his right to the end of his contract - which would have been £5m! I am not sure what compromise was reached in the end, I forget the exact number, but it was millions of pounds, rather than nothing. So don't think a free transfer is always free for the selling club, it would require the player waiving monies he would otherwise receive. It is very rare players do so, unfortunately, they seem to put money first in far too many cases.}

So glad ed has put this little statment together
now please everyone who posts "lets just release all the dead wood" please give it a rest

Agree0 Disagree0

Still 5% is better than paying his full wages till 2015 imo {Ed001's Note - that was 5% of the transfer fee, not 5% of his wages. The percentage of wages is much higher, to stop clubs just paying off players. If I remember rightly, this is off the top of my head though so I might be wrong, it was somewhere in the region of 75%+, depending on the length of time left, and the amount of time already served.}

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO, I can't see it happening to be honest, he's too good for league 2, I can't see him wanting to go to play in league 2 when I reckon several bottom end championship clubs or league 1 clubs. I don't see why people don't like him, IMO he was one of our best midfielders last season

Sorry original poster but you are way off the mark. One of my best mates works for Pompey and he is pretty high up, and he told me that Norris will not be going back to Portsmouth, he won't leave Leeds unless it is to another Championship club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that means were stuck with him then, can't see any other championship side coming in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rob Harrogate has moved the goalposts more.
It's a rumour page, however FACT in capitals means it's totally true factually
In my opinion putting 'in my opinion' is unnecessary, not a fact (hence the small letters) just my opinion
