How come no-one has mentioned the obvious ? Robert snodgrass is off to Celtic with Aidy White....

1. He's given an interview questioning Leeds' ambitions..
Why ? Cos he's off and cares about Leeds and wants people to understand why he's off
2. In Scotsman interview he talks about back home and nieces and nephews
3. Celtic would almost guarantee him a starting position for Scotland
Thus the interview references to Scotland national team

Only hope is a team of players Snodders knows are good and respects or quickly learn to respect. Will we sell him or keep him for a year ? I wonder....

Warnock has said if he doesnt sign his new deal he will be off at christmas and snoddy seems content with that. hes guarantted premier league football whether we get promoted or not.

Tbh has anyone thought when he says he wants "premiership football" he actually means "premiership wages" - let him go now if that's the case

Snoddy also spoke about the benefits of Scottish players playing in England because of the better calibre of players, admittedly he said in the premier league but by Christmas we'll be on track for the prem so he'll sign anyway! Let's start thinking positive rather than all this negative talk ALL THE TIME!

I think snods has burn his bridges with the ellant road management team he has more or less stated thge club lacks his ambition any potential signing will read that article by out club captain and start to have second thaughts i say strip him of the captaincy and pull his contract offer

I think he would have trouble getting a starting place in Celtic's team

As much as he is a Celtic fan, Snoddy is not returning to Glasgow. He will remain with Leeds unless a Premiership club come in for him. He wants to play in the Premiership and that's really about it.

Not sure about this one cos he was saying just t'other day how great it is that scottish players are coming down to England, getting better and thus making Scotland a stronger footballing nation. I actually LOL-LED a lot at the last bit!!!

If snoddy doesn't sign he will be off in the summer as im pretty sure there will be teams in with some good bid , this crap about keeping him until christmas in only going to happen if bids are less than 4 mil

SNODDY not gonna step backwards by going to Celtic. He knows the level of play in Prem and supports more players coming down south to improve playing skills for Scotland. He will remain with us at least until Xmas because he seeks Prem football

Snoddy also said he expects more Scottish players to head south (to England) as the higher standard of football would be a boost to the national team.

Paddy Kenny has signed for Leeds and will be announced at the end of the month! Source: Paddy Kennys nephew!

He's still under contract at QPR. Why if he has signed would they wait a week to announce it.

There is no proof of this what so ever, until this deal is complete its your word against everyone elses

I also understand that he has a pre contract agreement to join Leeds in June, apologies but cannot divulge the source, so yes, I know this info means nothing, but lets just wait and see along with all the transfer traffic which cannot happen until then! JH

I know thats a guess but i wouldnt be surprised to see quite a few of them at leeds come the start of the season.

Ok so... puncheon i would say is not coming, neither is gradel, would be surprised with clyne, not that sure about beckford, seems too good to be true and his wages are high... have you just thrown some player names out there and hoped for the best...

Hmm....12 players - and entire team and sub! All demanding somewhere between 5 and 15k, certainly a total pushing 100k a week minimum there....and we are looking to recoup probably less than half that should we offload all those listed and ross.
Jesus...warnock must have something real dirty on fat ken if he's got himself a 50k a week wage budget hike.

Well, I doubt it... I have a gut feeling all is not well at ER and we may be very disappointed come August. One thing is for sure Bates will not spend anywhere near what he'd need to to get even half these!

No way will clyne come to leeds with premier league clubs looking at him! seeing as we have finished outside the playoffs for the last two seasons, we would do well to sign 3 or 4 of those players...

Time to move on from snoddy, clearly no longer commited, all his coments suggest hes looking for a way out, we've lost bigger and better players than him in the past and if he not gonna give us a 100% then lets get a couple mill for him and rebuild. M.O.T

Agree in principle, but we don't rebuild when we sell a player.

We didn't replace any of these adequately. This is because a player of Snodgrass's quality is going to cost more than we're willing to pay in wages. Think about it - one of the reasons he will leave is the offer of more money elsewhere. This surely tells you that players of his quality have a market value which is more than we are willing to pay.

So yeah, all keen to rebuild, but since we won't reach the wage demands of McCormack, White, Snodgrass and Clayton, then its not likely that we're going to bring in players of the same quality.

Were all waiting for investment, fans to see if it's worth the season ticket next season and snoddy because he wants to be part of a big team and he thinks warnock will bring this to Leeds or he would of handed in a transfer request at the leicster match

I disagree. I think the pressure he is putting on bates is justified and I don't blame him for wanting success in his career. It's short and medals and a secure future when a footballer retires is important.
Bates tries to undercut deals and wages as he thinks it's all too high- he's right it is too high, but if we want to compete on the field,we have to compete financially.
As fans we would play for nothing-that's rubbish, if you were the only one playing for nothing next to a guy earning £15k a week living in a mansion and driving a supercar anyone would soon feel envious and unvalued.
Snoddy at last is standing up for us fans- not about money but about our club and it's future,I applaud him

I hope Snoddy leaves for his own good. How do you expect a player to stay committed when the club refuses to show any kind of ambition to get where the player wants to go? Snoddy's already shown far more loyalty than he's had to. We'll sell him then watch as the money isn't put into the squad.

Stay or go, either way I don't care - clearly no longer committed to the cause and will walk if offered Premiership opportunity with Naaaarwich.

Think what Snoddy says is fair enough, I just wish he'd stop saying it openly in the press. He's doing our prospects of getting good players in alot of harm, and no doubt has influenced Aidy and Ross wanting away.

Ha yeah but it's always the case.

"Ah never mind that player x doesn't want to stay, let's sell him and reinvest, rebuild better for next season".

Next season arrives and it's player y that wants to leave so we say the same thing.

Good to see the PR department working full throttle this morning. Does anyone know if Alistair Campbell has been employed by us. On the OS we should rejoice that Lees is likely to be committing his future to the club. Not worthy of a headline article but buried within the same story we admit we are likely to lose Aidy and Ross looks a good bet to follow. Nothing has changed at ER and won't whilst that money grabbing b@£^$$d is at the club. It's not as if we only lose out to Premership clubs but we seemingly can't compete with half the clubs in our division. I have full faith in Colin (as I did with Larry) but worry how long he will put up with this. Starting to fear all my optimism about the forthcoming season was misplaced. Who agrees with me ?

Not me ... yet another boring and negative comment in a long line of the same. It should be remembered that most players are still under contract until the end of June and if, as you say, you have faith in Neil Warnock, give him the time to do his job and stop spreading doom and gloom.

I totally agree with your post. Same old same old. I was looking forward to the influx of new hungry players for next season. Snoddy's got his words exactly right - "put up as youve promised or I leave cos Ive heard this b******t before".

I agree with you completely mate. Lees signing a new deal will only become good news if he improves - a lot! At the moment I'm afraid he's nowhere near good enough for a team genuinely chasing promotion.

To be quite frank, regarding the contract rebels, I'm really not too worried if they all leave.

Clayton - highly rated by the vast majority of Leeds fans, but I've no idea why. I ask again, when was his last good game? A few performances in August/September isn't enough to warrant sticking your collar up as though you're someone special. Not good enough.
Snodgrass - again held in very high regard by most Leeds fans. The fact remains though that we've never had a good FULL season from him. At the beginning and end of the season just finished he was very poor and didn't even look interested. I keep reading these quotes from him about him staying if we sign some Premiership quality players. Well sorry Robert, but you're not exactly Gordon Strachan yourself!
McCormack - my player of the season. A very clever footballer who could definitely cut it at the highest level, in my opinion. However, he's not the kind of player to perform the target man role, neither is he blessed with pace. Therefore, as the boss touched on himself at the back end of the season, he would probably struggle to fit into a Neil Warnock team. Sorry to see him go but if Warnock signs the right players for his system it's not a disaster.
White - when I first saw him in League One I was very excited. But for me he hasn't reached anything like his true potential. Obviously it's not clear who's to blame for that, whether it's White himself or the coaches at the club, but I don't think he's developed much, if at all in the last few years.

In conclusion, it really doesn't need to be the end of the world if all four move on. However, what IS beginning to concern me are the general bad vibes from and lack of movement into the club. Last week Warnock was saying we should have two by the weekend - now he'll be pleased if we have a couple in by the END OF THE MONTH!

We've heard it all before haven't we? Just as a side issue, what do Grayson's detractors make of it? After all, he seemed to cop the blame every transfer window. Warnock's beginning to sound like he's reading the same script, which is worrying.

The one thing I'm clinging to is that, after all, Warnock is still here. I'm sure he would walk if he thought he wasn't going to recieve the backing required to build the squad he wants. I'm not going to reach for the anti-depressants just yet - but if he walks, I really will start to fear for the whole future of the club.

This is what I was trying to get at a couple of weeks ago but got shot down. We could be losing our best players...yet again. But the players we are being linked with doesn't inspire me with any confidence on what is going to happen next seson.

Our "best" players in the main aren't good enough anyway. The real problem to me is our recruitment policy, or lack of to be more precise.

Totally agree- every season Ive tried to be optimistic, but last season left me feeling like a complete mug. The signs are its happening again- Massive investment in a stadium we dont own to raise Bates property portfolio value, dragging our heals on a quality defender we urgently need, players wanting out all over the place... Bates relies on blind optimism from supporters, cos he knows we're all mugs who'll pay through the nose- Leeds fans posibly more than most becasue they are so loyal. Its time to sadly stop deluding yourselves. £600 a season to build Bates a casino? WAKE UP EVERYONE- If any other company treated its customers the way Bates does then it would be bankrupt by now. Bates knows that year on year we'll keep comming back and pay whatever he says to watch our team, so he throws us a little bone at season ticket renewal time, offers a glimmer of hope, then spends the summer laughing with our cash, spending it doing up his ground that he can sell back to us at an inflated price when the time comes. Simple laws of supply and demand say that if the price is too high and the service too poor then the profits go down. If we dont give Bates our money like a blind mug, he wont be able to treat us like one.

Ward is desperate to join Leeds, the only stumbling block is that he is owed a bonus by Portsmouth (like Pearce was but we paid his !) Warnock went mad a Harvey yesterday as he was under imprsession it had been sorted ! will be today

I hope so atleast then the defence will be starting to take shape .
