I've told you before and I'm telling you again.
BMD is being reileived of the managers role at ER but will be employed as Chief scout for the remainder of his contract.
Don't laugh it's what Maasimo has decided
Jeff

Believable26 Unbelievable91

Why would McD agree to that? Wouldn't he be better off refusing, getting sacked taking the money and getting a managers job somewhere else? Just seems too far fetched, it'd be a stretch if he stepped down a position to assistant manager. Sorry mate but can't see this happening at all

Agree4 Disagree1

You told us before and again and again. Please stop being the sumo on bin day.

Agree2 Disagree0

Your credibility after your previous 'announcement' stating MC had been turned is in tatters .
Enough said

Agree5 Disagree0

Sorry I meant sulo not sumo

Agree2 Disagree1

Chief scout? judging by the calibre of the players he's brought in I'd suggest he'd be the last person we'd want scouting! and why would he take it? it wouldn't look good on his CV and I'm sure he's not that desperate for the money.

Agree4 Disagree0

Could be true after all this is Leeds and after all that has gone on over the last 2-3 months expect the unexpected is what is say.

Agree1 Disagree1

Could be true but pinch of salt is needed I'm afraid ;(

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 21:22:23
could be a good ploy by Massimo to save money, making McD chief scout means no pay off and he would have to resign to take another managers job saving us £1m (estimated). Depends on his contract but I suspect that is a dogs dinner knowing GFH so maybe super shrewd move by the new top dog, MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

Oh that's a good one Jeff!
Have no problem at all with rumours however far fetched they seem, its what makes this site the best around. Can't really see Brian putting his heart and soul into that role, when he could toodle off pocket a mill and join the Warnock media gravy train. No, so long as its not personal against fellow Leeds fans keep em coming Jeff. Really hope your correct though, would love Zola or Eddie Howe anyone that uses the grass again would be welcome.

Agree2 Disagree1

I've heard this too and it makes perfect sense

Agree1 Disagree2

Who told you that Jeff? Same person who told you that the takeover had failed and the club was in a mess?

Agree3 Disagree0

Don't be so ridiculous, that would be Constructive Dismissal. BMD would just sue. I haven't heard such rubbish since your post about MC having his appeal rejected

Agree3 Disagree1

BMD is playing desperate hoof ball with a park full of defensive mids and fullbacks in too advanced a position to help out exposed centrebacks. These are the exact same tactics (with almost the exact same players) that led to Warnock's resignation.
Wouldn't surprise me if we get a few loans next season and just let everyone wind down their contract, ready for a major investment in new manager and a whole new squad in 2015. Could be yet another transition season coming with BMD seeing out his contract. Anywhere above mid table is a bonus.

Agree1 Disagree1

What about Luke Dowling? I'm sure I read that MC respects him and has already been in discussions with him about potential signings. Where would that leave him?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Apr 2014 10:14:23
There's a better chance of Survivor becoming a Girl Guide than Brian McDermott becoming a scout again!

Agree1 Disagree0

Thats optimism citywhite. Hope you are not correct with that one. But survisor maybe right that Massimmo has decided to make him a scout, but he won't accept it and will be able to claim compo

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Apr 2014 12:45:01
If he has been offered an alternate position and he decides he does not want it then he should not even be entitled to claim benefits let alone any compensation! If it were true at least it would provide damage limitation as anyone 'scouted' would only be a recommendation and not have to be purchased! I believe MC will take a personal interest with regard an unknown quantity! You don't buy a car without a test drive!

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed
Jeff

Agree2 Disagree2

I don't know about football contracts, but my contract at work states I can be asked to perform any role within the company, but cannot suffer a wage decrease. It is plausible that the same could be used in football.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 Apr 2014 21:46:12
A scout is someone who is able to recognize talent when they see it.The players that he has brought in
tell me that he cannot be trusted to perform this function.

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi jeff hope you're both correct and wrong about bmc just as long as he is not In charge of our team after derby game .i think LEEDS was far too big for him and the staff he brought to the club any1 can say there were unmercival hindrances going on around the club YES THERE WERE but he had lost the plot. AWhile before Christmas as somemay say our players have been poor from onset of season but he managed to gloss over the cracks and we stumbled on few wins due to Ross MC .without playing well.
I will say I welcomed his signature with gusto when he joined us but there's a whole world between Readig fc and LEEDS UTD fc in size and stature etc so please Brian leave with dignity and have us chear/clap you're name if you ever return to ER, rather than jeer as per the Warlock before you .

I heard that Brian McDermott is a great admirer of Metz striker Difra Sakho and was rumoured to be interested in signing him in the summer if he's still here. He's worth 1.8m but we could start the bidding at a lower price due to him being out of contract next year.

Believable21 Unbelievable28

What make anyone think BMD will be involved in any aspect of player recruitment?

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 16:33:14
Massimo Cellino's son Eduardo has said that Leeds United could sign Cagliari players Victor Ibarbo, Davide Astori, and Adryan.

Leeds United fan Andrew Brearton got in touch with Cellino's son through , and took a screenshot of his apparent conversation with him.

Massimo Cellino currently owns Cagliari as well as Leeds, and the Yorkshire club are starting to be linked with an array of players from the Serie A club.
Crystal Palace are planning a 'double swoop' on Leeds United for attacking reinforcements this summer.

With premier league survival secured Tony Pulis will definitely be turning his attentions to his summer recruitment plans and if the reports are true then he's interested in signed Leeds strikers Ross McCormack and Matt Smith for a combined £5.5m.

Believable19 Unbelievable37

Matt smith premiership. really? find that hard to believe and the figure is far too low no way ross will leave for less than six we rejected 5 so would not take less now, not sure why people are saying a figure less is confusing to me, if we take less than 6 for ross I would be worried as it means we don't have the money we think we do

Agree2 Disagree0

ED why have you let another person register with same name as me?
Going to get cunfusing ;(

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I cannot prevent someone with the same name taking a very similar username}

Yeah I saw those messages, hard to know for sure their genuine but seem legit enough.

Fee might be a bit steep, but Mccormack and Smith are a pretty good combo, i'd prefer them to Chamakh and Puncheon anyday, whether MC will sell them might depend on how many imports we get. Best players are only the best until someone better comes along.

Agree1 Disagree0

Any player has a price, and there are always bigger fish .
Next season can't get any worst can it?
Can't see Ross saying but he could be a one season wonder and go and warm a bench .
Anybody know what has or is happening with David Somma?

Crystal Palace linked with a £5.5m deal to sign Smith and McCormack

Believable11 Unbelievable38

Why do teams think we will sell our players cut price to them, ross is worth 8 million smith 2 million, we are filthy rich, we dnt need to sell

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Apr 2014 10:45:53
According to Cellinos son (Eduardo) who was chatting on . Ibarbo, Astori, Adryan. could be moving to Leeds in the summer.

Believable56 Unbelievable18

I hope this is true because these are the calibre of players we need not as been's from the premier league or nobody's from the lower league's. Massimo will bring some quality players in because he is detirmind to get us back to the premier league and back to the glory days.

Agree2 Disagree0

We've got to have some incredibly gullible (or delusional?) fans to believe that Italian internationals are going to come to the Championship and that Cellino will give £11m rated players to Leeds for free.

Agree2 Disagree1

Adryan is Brazilian/Portuguese don't think he's even played international football, Ibarbo is columbian, and astori is 9m rated not 11. Why would he not want to give players to his new club before he sells on and offer them the potential of playing in the prem league still regarded widely as the best league in the world under a chairman they have being working with at a 5000 seat stadium. You say it like it's a step down.

Agree1 Disagree1

Adryan is on loan at Cagliari so he's not even their player! Ibarbo and Astori seem unlikely but money talks. We have a 40k stadium to their 5 and they have a good free shot at playing in the premier league.

Agree1 Disagree1

We're in the Championship not the PL and just because we may spend loads of money it doesn't guarantee promotion. Astori was linked with Roma and Manchester United and is likely to be Italy's WC squad, but you believe he will want to play Championship football next year? Get real. How would we even afford his wages at that level? We may have a 40k stadium, but when was the last time we actually had 40k at Elland Road?

Agree2 Disagree1

Ibarbo maybe. But Astori? Don't think so. He has some real class. If Cellino gives us 20mil ibarbo would be about a third of that at least. We don't need a star player we need a team.

Agree1 Disagree0

When was the last time we had international calibre players? If we had these three plus McCormack and another couple of midfielders then we'd get 40k. We might even go up at the first attempt thus giving them prem football

Agree1 Disagree0

There is always talk of exciting signings just before season tickets go on sale

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 10:43:17
My friend just text me its on F-Book that MCs son is saying LUFC could be getting the following players in the summer.

Davide Astori
Victor Ibarbo
Adryan (on loan from Flamengo)

Im looking on FB at the moment (while trying to work) but not found anyting as yet!

Believable33 Unbelievable13

23 Apr 2014 13:08:02
Wud love this to happen bring sum quality in cellino put us back were we belong for all are loyal fans I would b happy with any of these players keep mccormack aswell proven he can score 20 plus goals in a rubbish team imagine him in a quality team

Agree2 Disagree0

I recall this info coming about well before Cellino had officially taken over
The talk was messages pm'd on
Then it went viral
Nothing new at the minute
I was however excited by this then

Agree1 Disagree1

Astori turned down a move in 2012 to Spartak Moscow (£11m) so hopefully he is quality!

Agree1 Disagree0

When do the season tickets go on sale? Call me an old sceptic.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - In approx 2 weeks}

23 Apr 2014 08:29:24
I heard yesterday Brian will be dismissed as soon as the season finishes. I think it's unfair people give him so much stick because he's had to wheel & deal all year and probably didn't want Hunt or Kebe but there was nobody else available on a free transfer. He was just trying to freshen things up. You can see the players put the effort in for him and he's obviously not lost the dressing room. I think it's just a case of the players not been good enough, which is why most of them came on free transfer.

Believable52 Unbelievable19

How can the deal for hunt be seen as a free transfer he gets 25k a week

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - No he doesn't}

Whether we had to pay a transfer fee or not they have added to the wage bill for no improvement in team results!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 13:03:24
In cellinos crazy interview he revealed hunt was on 25k a week may not be true all I know is I would not pay him with brass washes absolute rubbish why bri keeps startin him is anyones guess

Agree0 Disagree0

Not true
McDermott was begging Hunt all summer to join to the point of him calling him every other day to make sure he signed, this came from Hunt himself saying BM even called him on his honeymoon and spoke about it at his wedding
Safe to say Hunt was one of his top targets

Agree0 Disagree0

McDermott also wanted to sign Stephen Hunt and Kevin Doyle, but their wage demands were too high and he wanted Matt Mills who is terrible. Who are his targets for next season? Kebe, McAnuff, and Federici?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tactics are wrong regardless of squad. Grayson had to wheel and deal and did a far better job, don't trust him with or without money, there must be someone better for the job?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about Grayson, he did very well. He did have Becchio, howson, Johnson and snodgrass though, who are all now premier league footballers. (Well for the next few weeks anyway) lol

Original poster

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point about the players who I belive were brought in by gary mac, would be a great scout just not great manager, grayson did his fair share of good buys, although I met him in the hilton dartford just before the charlton draw and told him to buy kasper which he then did so I like to think that is of course of down to me. they all signed my shirt for me which I was well chuffed about (even beckford did, not too fussed about shache watt who also got in on the signing)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2014 23:56:50
Crystal palace want to sign Ross mccormack and Matt smith this summer and and feel a bid in the region of 5.5m will secure both players.

Believable8 Unbelievable41

They can feel all they want won't be happening. Smith is worth a couple of million now so they need to almost double that bid.

Agree4 Disagree3

23 Apr 2014 08:19:31
Rubbish, that's about 1/2 of what there worth minimum!

Agree4 Disagree1

5.5 million what about Ross s other leg?

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith ain't worth 1 million yet alone 2! 5.5 wld be a great deal which includes a striker that can't play on the floor is a great deal

Agree1 Disagree5

They can have Smith for sure. Probably the worst striker to have played for Leeds United

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed013's Note - very harsh! 11 goals in his first season isn't bad mate}

I could well believe that Pullis would like Smith, he fits the bill as a target man for him. Palace have a massive squad and would need to sell a lot of players in the summer. I hope Kebe is not part of the deal. We will have to wait and see who Massimo appoints as our new manager and the formation and style of football he wants us to play. I do not think Smith is Cellino's type of player and Cagliari seem to play a 4-3-3 formation most of the time

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry if they go it will be for about £ 12.5 mill

Agree2 Disagree1

Oh Steven, that money would buy our whole squad and if we could get that and start from scratch, I think Mr Cellino would be doing back flips!

Agree0 Disagree1

I know 5.5m is a joke Ross is worth more than that alone

Agree2 Disagree1

Smith is a good option to have for sure, not a starter for every game yet which is why we need a tall quick forward (ross+smith ain't quick) who can get 10-13 goals and give teams something else to think about.

Ross has to be worth what Rhodes went to Blackburn for, we are going to get loads of these stories but at least with MC we don't have to sell, only if a great price come in, would have been a fire sale for sure if had no takeover

Agree1 Disagree0

Anhow - Smith isn't even the worst striker in the current squad - we have Hunt. Granted, Smith isn't the best but he's already done better than Paynter, Ricketts, Forsell that I can think off off the top of my head.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd give em' Smith in fact i'll drive him down, I'd keep Ross obviously, and if we could break the bank and get Jordan Rhodes what a front two that would be!

Agree0 Disagree1

Rhodes would be quality. But I'd keep him for the tight games gives us an option torments defences. I always think u need 2 poachers mcCormack and Rhodes. A target man Smith and a pacey dribbler like gradel type. 4 very good options all for different games as long as the coach is tactically astute

Agree1 Disagree1

Ross worth more than 5.5 smith is not the worse striker to play for leeds Anhow please remember

Derick Lilly, Ian Rush, Mark Heatley (lowest ever permiership goals total) Clyde Wijnhard, brain deane (2nd time round) Michael Ricketts, danny Cadermatri, Malcome Christie, Leon Constine, Liam Dickenson, Tore Andre Flo, Habib Habobu (if he was a forward couldn't work out what the F+++ he was), Pierre Laurent and BILLY PAYNTER AND THOMAS BROLIN. Expecting a rectraction and as punishment for silly comment you need to say five nice things about Matt Smith

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 21:18:44
Oh my god there were a few names in that lot I'd forgot about.
P.s does anybody else think Smith got a look of a young john charles, or should I get down to spec savers?

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Apr 2014 22:29:41
anhow what are you talking about Smith has done ok 11 goals without any decent services, he has created quite a few goals for Ross with his flick ons Get off the kids back!

Agree2 Disagree0

Frank strandli I forgot about him well excited when we signed him and did nothing another one who makes smith look like chapman

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Apr 2014 00:33:38
I think 11 goals is quality when you have mccormack to compete with up front. And don't forget, smith has only played professionally for about 2 and a half years before that he was playing for his uni team! he's also probably set up 4 or 5 of mccormacks goals. He's a good asset to the team and pairs well with a prolific striker like mccormack as he has clearly shown with great flick-ons all season. Give him a break he's 24 and not experienced, he has a lot to learn and can only get better with age. MOT
