Lots of rumours tonight that the takeover will be announced tomorrow ? (Tuesday)

Also NW states 4 more players to arrive, but not squad players. Looking like funds have been released for NW to finish the rebuilding

Any thoughts on those 4 players left?

Beckford? Derry? Rhodes?

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Haha how do u expect to sign Rhodes or beckford when all that's been signed are freebies oaps n a few hundred thousand pound players!

Agree0 Disagree0

Has defs got to be a right back anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one would like to see Rhodes come. 1) i think he is a top class poacher and 2) imagine how the poodles would react!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford

Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

We have signed decent players for cheap . we are able to spend 6 mil + 3.5 mil profit + any sales take away what ever we have spent already on transfers = quite a bit of money left to buy 4 new decent players , that's how we can expect to get someone like beckford .can't see Huddersfield selling Rhodes unless they get stupid money .maybe a little chance if we swap mccormack + cash for him but cant see it

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are all these rumours about takeover being done tomorrow? in your head I think mate.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Good championship level players who will hopefully give us the bit of steel we were missing last year
No need to spend millions to get out of this league so NW is keeping any new money ready for a big push in January and hopefully for when we reach the promised land
At the moment he is spending what he can by wheeling and dealing to have a team ready for the start of the season. Not an ideal situation but I think he's doing OK

On Official Site that Jamie Ashdowne and Andy Gray signed deals with Leeds. Lets hope they are signed as Squad players in case and not as possible starters !!
PeteMOT

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Well, I can't see them being anything but squad players, we have Kenny in goal, Ashdown will no doubt be on the bench, and Gray's a little on the old side to be starting as a striker in the championship but I have no doubt he'll be a brilliant last 20 minute man especially as he's Leeds through and through.
Be patient, there's no doubt better to come, hope Maynard's one.

Agree0 Disagree0

It makes me really worried. If there is going to be a take over, why are we signing players of this standard, it makes no sense whatsoever, even as back up they are not good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamie Ashdowne over Paul Rachubka anyday as backup.

Agree0 Disagree0

" If there is going to be a take over, why are we signing players of this standard, it makes no sense whatsoever, even as back up they are not good enough"

Always someone moans, whatever anyone does to improve the squad.

We look like we may be tookover and get rid of Bates, is that not enough for you?

Then we get all these new players in who have to be better than the crap I was forced to endure on the pitch and that's not good enough for you?

Do you really expect anyone is going to come in and pay bates 70 million quid (ish) try and then buy Elland Road and Thorpe Arch and still have millions of pounds to spend on top class players (who aren't actually on the transfer list anyway if they are any good?)

Lets give Warnock some space here, and if we aren't in the top three at Xmas then THAT is the time to moan and expect more signings in the january window?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ofcourse they are squad players he said Kenny was probably most important signing he'd make so yeah makes sense to sign ashdowne and replace Kenny in starting 11 before signing even starts?

Agree0 Disagree0

what are peoples thoughts on Ryo Miyaichi? i reckon he could potentially run the show in the championship. If snodgrass was to go then at least an attempt at loaning miyaichi would be nice.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Never heard of him who is he

Agree0 Disagree0

If Ryo Miyaichi goes anywhere on Loan in the championship it will be Bolton. He went there last year and Bolton have a good relationship with Arsenal. Wenger trusts Coyle to take care of them ( i.e. Wilshire), blood youngsters, and likes the fact that Bolton play expansive footy, like Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you talking about? So just how much do you know about this player's game and their suitability for the rigours of Championship football? Townsend, Watt, Smith, Livermore, Bannan... We've been there countless times before. And those guys were relatively experienced. Why do people insist on basing spurious conjecture on such limited evidence and knowledge? Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have turned down bids to sign him permenantly, from a few clubs, according to reports in the papers at the weekend. Arsene is going to be giving him a chance in the first team this year after his displays for Bolton last year

Agree0 Disagree0

Ajax are desperate to land him
, so absolutely no chance of this happening mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you people keep thinking that Snodgrass is going anywhere, just give the guy a little respect for still being here despite the offers and despite the so called 'supporters' like you who have already written him off?

Gray and ash down sign

On official site, playing in tonight's friendly

Db

Believable10 Unbelievable0

With Varney and Rudi Austin announced as signed at halftime. Austin subject to visa.

Agree0 Disagree0

No doubt both squad player but should be doing better than signing a 34 year old journeyman. By Bye Snoddy. I dont blame you

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney also signs 2 year deal . on official site

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from Pierce we have not really improved the squad. Journeymen and free transfers.... So much for the new dawn at Elland Rd. Wont be renewing my season ticket based upon the dross we are picking up this transfer window. Just need our two quality players to leave and we will be fighting a relegation battle. I think this round of transfers signals the end of any hope of a takeover.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds fans expect mega rich new owners but sign andy Gray that to me says don't expect that! There will be new investors not owners I reported that on here a week ago keep watching

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is everyone down on Andy Gray will be a decent squad player , Hargaraves is being quoted as signing for Burnley surely he could be a marquee signing Warnock is quoted as wanting also Owen still avaiable

Andy Gray and Jamie Ashdown are the 2 players to sign, its on OS now! Does not inspire me with confidence for the new season or the takeover! DAZ.S

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Two more free transfers both over 30! Not exciting or inspiring. What will Snodgrass think now

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree, these players are clearly squad filler, we have to put 7 players on the bench this season, they add experience. Good work Neil.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheer up DAZ.S he's padding the squad out a bit, Gray will bit part player until Somma's ready and more reliable than Billy.. and Ashdown is certainly better than "Rab chuckit in your net"

DW

Agree0 Disagree0

They're sound squad players. He will bring in the big guns soon. You'll see

Agree0 Disagree0

Look again you'll see Austin and Varney both now at Mighty LEEDS MOT come on !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy will not stop now. Where is the pace we need?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good signings esp a 2nd decent keeper .Not every signing needs to be a star just someone who can add a bit to make a decent squad and the side already looks stronger than last year

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate of mine is a Barnsley fan and said Gray will run his heart out. Said he's good to bring on for last 10 to 15 if you're looking to nick something from a game. IMO, a decent addition to the squad as he has the experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

He still has his sights on 4 more, Austin has pace, I'm guessing a RB that will be up and down the line and a quick striker. Rumours we have put in a bid for Maynard.
Source Westham Blog

Agree0 Disagree0

You ask where is the pace now! Are you the only person to have not watched Austin on the facetube? he is very very quick, can pass a ball, can tackle (he actually has a viewing rating of 18 ), and he can score. My friend who lives up in Scotland says that there is a strong rumour that Leeds have already agreed a £1mill fee with Hearts for attacking midfielder David Templeton.
If this is true it would obviously indicate that either money is available for transfers or Snodgrass is interested in the move to Norwich.
jt-lufc

Believable9 Unbelievable4

FUNNY THAT....Snodgrass was playing in the game against Tavistock tonite. Would u play a player in some pointless match when your gonna sell him ? Slight injury and the deals off. SNODDY is obviously staying put. 'Playing tonite sealed it'

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard a lot about this kid. Exactly what position does he play?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2012 17:40:42
QPR may release Shaun Derry on a free transfer, i think he would certainly fit within our new midfield.

Secondly, i think Snodgrass is on his way, rumour is that Leeds are holding out for another £500K from Norwich, bid currently is £2.5M, Leeds want £3M, i think he will be a gonner this week, the £3M is what NW needs to complete the 8 signings he has mentioned.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Yea he did mention 8 players but who are they haha

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesnt need the money from selling anybody, things have happened that we dont know about

does anyone rate halford i havent seen much of him lufc forever

Believable11 Unbelievable4

In my opinion, he is a quality player. Strong right back who is versatile. Also is a very nice guy for what it's worth.

JW

Agree0 Disagree0

Not bad, but if he was that good he would have left pompey ages ago, backward step in my eyes, mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Seem to recall he's tall, good in the air at set pieces and also has a long throw in. Not as good going forward as Peltier but possibly better in his defensive duties.
I think he might be the better option for us as we seek to tighten up at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's a quality full back. Tall rangy type fairly quick and huge throw in. Also pretty good delivery from dead balls. Dont think he's as solid as Peltier though but probably more of an attacking force..

DW

Agree0 Disagree0

In two weeks pompey will be bust either offer 50k now or wait and get invovled in a auction with agents on who will pay most in contracts this being the case how about ben 30k a week at the moment but may take 10k at another club

Very good player at this level. Good positional sense, tall but no slouch, good athlete, very versatile, calm and intelligent. Sign him up now! Chapel A

Robbie Brady has signed for Leeds on a season long loan from Manchester United. The Ireland under 21 international will link up with compatriot Aidan White who has penned a new 3 year deal at Elland Road.

From my local paper in Cork. MOT.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

I doubt this seems as he is in Asia with united and Fergie wants to use him as cover in full back area

Irish phil

Agree0 Disagree0

I was under the impression that Fergie wouldn't under any circumstances loan any players to us anyway! And Warnock said months ago that he doesn't want loan players in (unless a top quality player because available on loan, but how often does that happen!)
I'd prefer it if NW carries on doing what he's doing and sign more permanent players who actually want to play for LUFC. - JamesC

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm from Cork, so I can confirm this rumour is just lies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Which cork paper is that? Considering fergie gave him a run recently plus the fact that he hates Leeds, I think you or the paper have it wrong.

Warnock has confirmed on OS that talks are on going with Austin but doesn't expect him to be signed this week. Also stated that Snodgrass may not play as a precautionary. Alarm bells are ringing on that one.

StevenLufc

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Warnock said he might not risk Snoddy tonight at Tavistock, there are 2 more games this week. Given the hamstring he may only be played in the game friday. Don't read anything more into it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Warnock gave the biggest hint on his sky interview about him having his head turned. Shame really, but there we go, I suppose its the poragative of players these days to chase the money. Thing is, one day Leeds will be right up there again...we know it and warnock knows it. Sounds like he's gone to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not all about the money with some players . i think snoddy will use Norwich as a stepping stone to get to a top team winning trophy's . he only has to play well for 1 season weather Norwich stay up or go down he will still be in prem league

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest , i am getting sick of the whole Snoddy thing. he was absoultely my favourite player last season but if he doesn't want to wear the shirt as our captain , then we need to cash in. i think he has a total lack of ambition as I expect this Leeds side to look better this season & Snoddy could have extended his contract for 12 months & attracted a bigger club than norwich who are going to struggle to stay up IMO . Time for him to be sold , if that's what he wants

Source: carrowroad fansite:

"Snoddgrass Done Deal
The word around Leeds, is that it is a done deal but Warnock has asked to meet with Snoddgrass to have one final attempt at turning his head back.   Our contact says that unless something happens today re their take-over ; he would expect that City will be the proud owner of a left footed winger.

Leeds do seem to be taking their time over this latest bid, which could lead us to believe that talks are ongoing, and that the offer was there or abouts what they wanted.
We wait for further developments."

Hope this contact is wrong, hopefully the fact that he can't even spell his name right casts some suspicion on his validity. I fear that as the takeover drags on NW will have no choice but to sacrifice Snodders to release the essential funds the squad rebuilds needs.

a scarborough white

Believable7 Unbelievable6

I was on Stadium Tour at Elland Rd yesterday and Lorimer said that Snodgrass had asked for a transfer and wasn't expected to be at Leeds much longer. Also claimed he knew nothing about the takeover ( used the word takeover rather than investment ) and that Bates limited finances had taken Leeds as far as they could.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the duty on Carrow road website thinks its a done deal why does it later say in the same article its dependent on talks between Warnock and Snodgrass.
At the moment Snodgrass is with the Leeds squad in Cornwall. If the right players come in then that may determine what Snodgrass does next.
Until then its all speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass is in Cornwall on the pre-season tour

Agree0 Disagree0

The word around Leeds is that its a done deal? i live not far from Leeds and i can honestly say i have not heard a thing about it being a done deal.. I think the source is wrong here, or maybe i am being optimistic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we worrying about a player who wants out ? I like the guy and would like him to stay but he obviously has other thoughts and not 100% committed. The world does not revolve around Snoddy and he certainly aint the chosen one. 'Cash in and check out son'

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day the ball is literally in Snodgrass's court, and I seriously hope he can spot the difference between Grayson and Warnock, because takeove or no takeover, there are a serious amount of players coming into the team who are more likely to get Leeds promoted than some of the carp that Snoddy had to play with.

Please support the guy while he remains a Leeds player, I hope he does a 'White' but until he leaves, keep the faith?

Rodolph Austin will be a Leeds player by Friday after Leeds agree a 300k fee with Brann

the player having a medical today is Luke Varney who will sign a 2 year deal

Jamie Ashdown will also be a Leeds player by Friday providing cover for Paddy Kenny.

Peltier will join Grayson at Huddersfield after losing patience with Leeds matching Huddersfield bid (Leeds waiting on the Take-Over before paying 600k)

Leeds will potentially listen to any offers for McCormack with him refusing to sign a new deal and NW wants 8 more players ideally, using cash from McCormack to get them.
MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Leeds have matched the £600k for Peltier (actually it was Udders that matched the Leeds bid) and it is possible its Peltier having the medical today.

1 of the 2 players mentioned by Warnock is already in Cornwall and its suggested this is Varney as he is still finalising a deal with Pompey and has not travelled to Portugal.

Austin wil be at least 7 days to complete due to timeframe to obtain work permit

More a theory than a rumour. Either the takeover has already taken place and there is a confidentiality clause/embargo in place or a binding pre-agreement has been entered into with the same effect. It's just that the mood music seems to have changed a lot for the better in the last few days. Remember how it seemed that the club couldn't afford a second hand binbag not so long ago? Could be completely wrong of course ...

fair play if it's varney just to make the squad numbers up but I really would love to see a signing (not loan) of a youngish fast flair player, there are loads that play in the reserves of top clubs that dont get a look in, I'm sure their are lots who would jump at the chance of joining so they can get first time football and make a name for their selfs, just like taarbat did at QPR, the team is crying out for this sort of player

Also, looking at Kightly and Templeton

MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Halford will definitely enhance our team, as I think would Templeton and Kightly. Reserve judgement on the rest. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton is definitely worth a punt ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love maynard, can't see it myself though, surely west ham would want a sizeable fee?

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton is not as good as being quoted by everyone certainly not worth anything like a million cost hearts 60k and has not improved in last 2 season however he is still young

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney signed. Norris and Halford apparently spoke to Warnock yesterday.

1,000,000 rejected for Maynard, but Leeds will agree a fee this week.

Tonge will be coming.

Kightly & Templeton are just of interest.

Takeover or no takeover, I'm happy that for the first time in a few years, we appear to be strengthening the team. Look at the players Warnock has brought in, and compare them to the players they have replaced, i.e Kenny replacing Lonergan, Pearce replacing O'Dea and Drury replacing Pugh/allowing White to play further forward. Personally I also feel Paul Green is a good acquisition, and far less likely to go missing in games like Clayton. Add to this the imminent capture of Austin to replace Michael Brown, and we're starting to build a much more solid all round team. Kenny and Drury also know how to get out of this division, something we lacked last season. Neil's doing a great job with at the moment 'limited funds' and this season, I honestly believe we'll be up there. Marching on Together

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Me too much better

Kenny, Peltier, Pearce, Lees, Drury, Rodgers/White Green, Austin, Snodgrass, Becchio, McCormack.

Plus add a few additions along with some of the youth and maybe some other signing gray for instance going to be better than paynter and nunez

Agree0 Disagree0

I am also excited about what neil warnock is doing but there is still the frustration of not knowing what is happening on the takeover r lass keeps nagging at me to get of the computer all i know is that i will be leeds till i die and i have white blood running through my veins come on leeds lets have a good season

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true I'll be a very happy man. Rudy will be a top top player fore is, the good time are coming back at last.

Sy BsE Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

This is what i love to see, a bit of positivity!

And to think NW wants to bring 8 more in, there is gunna be some more quality added to this squad. I think he'll sign Peltier (if the lad wanted to go to Hudd he would of by now, obviously waiting for us to get the cash), Varney, and Faure (the french defender on trial), then the rest anyones guess is as good as mine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well played my good man, well played

From Brann's website .. google translation:
Fire Sunday night accepted an offer from the English Championship club Leeds United at Austin Rodolphe.

The transition is not complete yet, what remains is that the player carries out a medical test and reseller completed his personal contract with Leeds.

- We agreed with Leeds on the conditions for a transition Sunday night. There have been a calculation for us where we had to measure the value of Rudy's path into the economy of such a transition, and we also believe that the player deserves the chance to transfer to Leeds now, said Rolf Magne Walstad-like the athletic administrative officer at Brann.

Travel to England

The interest from Leeds has been known for a while, and while fire has wanted to keep the player as long as possible, it has also been a matter of economy for a transition of one of Fire's best players.

- Negotiations have been slow, partly because the distance between what Leeds would give the player has been great from the fire wanted to get, and partly because we have had a desire to keep Rudy in the fire as long as possible.

In the fight against Aalesund Sunday afternoon was Rudy Austin his fifth yellow card of the season, which means quarantine of a match. It also played a role in the negotiations for AaFK-match.

- We had a wish that Rudy would play against Vålerenga next Monday, but since he can not there is no point in keeping him here, says Walstad.

Rudy will train with the Fire in the afternoon before he travels to England to negotiate the final agreement.

The desired option

Austin has always been clear that he wanted to have the opportunity to play for Leeds.

- Rudy has done a wonderful effort for Fire in several seasons, and we think it is right that he should have that opportunity now. He has since been known interest was clear that he wanted to continue his career in England if the clubs agreed a transfer.

Rodolphe Austin has played 106 games for the Fire since his debut in August 2008, and he stands with 17 goals for the club

Believable7 Unbelievable1

He'll have a chance to play against valarenga anyway because isnt that who we're playing or is or sandefjord (spelling)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha I love the terminology of in quarantine for a match!
I'm gonna start using that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodolph Austin is an excellent player that will improve from now on. He can score both long shots, headers, and free kick goals (all power). Leeds` opponents will be hurting from now on....

GK-Kenny

RB-Peltier CB-Pearce CB-Lees/Faure LB-White/Drury

RW-Snodgrass CM-Green CM-Austin LW-Rogers

ST-Becchio/DJ campbell ST-Varney

Subs: Cranie, Gray, Pugh, Brown, Kisnorbo, Somma

I'd take that to be honest, as a championship challenging team albeit maybe with different subs.

Think we could get templeton/Russell to replace snoddy if he goes.
Craig Mackail-Smith could also be a target if McCormack goes i think but i'd prefer campbell.

Peltier-£650-700,000
Austin-£350,000
Varney-£400,000
Campbell-£850-900,000
Faure-free
Cranie-free
Gray-free

That would mean spending £2.35 million which we should get from the takeover really.

BURLEYwhite

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I agree to a point, maybe the free players could have better options. The names dont set the world a light but it the championship we are taking about, ppl get to carried away and there wish lists are better than lower Prem teams. That team would be stronger in every area, and just think we have Warnock running the show he will get 110% out of everyone and thats what will make the differance. And lets npt forget as long as we are up there by the end end of the year, a couple of quality addition in Jan window and we could be doing a Reading!

Rodolph Austin's Last goal for Brann.. is on yo*tube now. search for "Rodolph Austin Goal Vs Aalesund FK" its the first one. Great opportunist goal, miss kick by goalkeeper, Super Rod returns it with a beautiful lob/shot over the despairing keeper into the net. For a defensive mid he scores a lot of classy goals.

LouisLeeds

Believable4 Unbelievable0

In no particular order, I'd go for the following:

McNaughton
Whitbread
Kightly
Austin (Looking very likely)
Burke
Beckford
Norris
McCarthy

MOT SussexLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin - Definately
Varney - Very likely
Peltier - Likely
Norris - Possibly
Faure/Cranie - The best will sign

I would then like to see a fourth winger who can play either side to challenge Snoddy, White and Rogers.

He will also sign a goalkeeper and another striker.

Ideal world i'd like to see Maynard

Agree0 Disagree0

McCarthy
Halford
Austin (trust NW on this one!)
Whittingham
G. Boyd
Zaha / Templeton
Beckford
MacKail-Smith

As you can see, I think what we need now is some attacking power to go with the 'stodge.' All the attacking / creative players above are better than any we have currently at the club except Snoddy (and I would be happy to lose any of them except Snod if we got the above). Let's get cracking though: we've already missed out on Ward, Ambrose and Bamba, all of whom would have been excellent here. Chapel A

Rudolph Austin's current team had told him that he would not be able to join Leeds early next week because they want him to play in another fixture before there transfer window opens in August, however Austin played this weekend for them and got himself yellow carded which is his sixth yellow card and he receives a one match automatic ban which now makes him available to join Leeds sooner rather than later, his manager was apparently not to pleased with him to say the least, the good news from Leeds point of view is that the ban does not get enforced in the English leagues so he is free to play once the deal is complete, apparently he also scored again later in his final match with what has been described as a spectacular lob from the edge of the box, let's hope that he brings the steal we need in mid field and can replicate this form for us.
