Jermaine pennant released by Stoke. Would be an decent freebie

Why do you think the mighty Stoke are letting him go!
Cus he is rubbish!

Agree2 Disagree1

A player who had loads of potential as a youth, had reasonable loan spell with us some seasons back but he has never lived up to that potential IMO. Wouldn't want him, not consistent, but hope he manages to settle at another club.

Agree2 Disagree1

You know what, the horrible truth is that even now he's probably in a different league to those two duds Brian's just treated us to. Oops, sorry, I know we've got to let them 'bed in' blah blah blah. Pennant may be soiled goods now, but for those of us who watched us losing our Prem status first hand a decade ago, his mazy dribbles were one of the few redeeming features of that dismal season -for that reason alone, I won't hear him described as 'rubbish.' Betting on Julio Cesar's next club was suspended this afternoon amid rumours that QPR's Brazilian goalkeeper could be on his way to Leeds United. stopped offering odds on Cesar's next destination after it was reported that Massimo Cellino is set to acquire Leeds from GFH Capital.Cellino owns Italian club Cagliari and they were recently linked with Cesar, who has not made a league appearance this season.QPR have not had an approach but would be happy to let the 34-year-old leave on a free transfer or help cover his wages if a club wants him on loan.Despite reported interest from a host of clubs since Cesar was made available at the end of last season, recent interest from Sunderland was the first approach Rangers had received. They have not heard from the Black Cats since but have had enquiries from a number of European sides in the last few weeks.Betting on Cesar joining Arsenal was suspended last summer following reports he was on the verge of a move to the Gunners, who showed no serious interest in signing him.

Keep up with play bud, Cellino has admitted he's in Leeds on an advisory capacity with no intention of buying Leeds, why regurgitate old stories.

If we sign Carlton Cole I will give my season ticket away (idle and rubbish) I heard from a hammers fan they looking to offer him as down payment on one of our best players ;(

west ham bid for ross mc oh god!
irish leeds fan

Believable33 Unbelievable10

Yes, I just saw that. Here we go again. One step forward, 25 backwards. Really fed up

Agree1 Disagree0

If the deal goes through, it will show that there is no money in the club, and that we are in for more doom and gloom in the near future.

Agree3 Disagree0

This is where the owners are really going to come into the lime light; whether good or bad. Will they accept a ludicrous bid (because that's what it'll take) and give MD funds finally or keep a much beloved prolific, fans favourite, who does much more than score much needed goals. Only time will tell. I for one would not want to see the back of our best player and I think the majority of fans would agree. Time to step up and give fans some much deserved good news.

Agree3 Disagree0

I feel sick, if he goes then it's season over.
Please ross don't go, Yorkshire men don't usually cry bur if this happens many will.

he will end up at norwich part x for becchio and we will give them cash.lol hope not but if he does bates is back

Agree0 Disagree1

Oh know, this is terrible news it could prove to be a disaster if it is accepted, so so worried, west ham dioufy will fit in with you lot much better!

Agree2 Disagree0

3million? What are they after a pair of his unwashed sweaty socks? Do one Fat Sam! You paid £17 mil for Carroll, You may be a mug but we are not! Oh and PS Ross if you want to move to the PL don't pick a club that will be playing championship football next season

Agree1 Disagree0

Gutted Ross is the only Quality player we have and our captain. Thought the takeover meant we were going to bring quality players in not sell them? Lennon, Milner, Delph, Howson, Snodgrass all gone and we bring in Tonge and Habiboo etc when will the Nightmare end? MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

God clam you lot, it is just a potential bid, can't stop teams wanting our better players so chill out.

If they offer silly money then everyone has his price (Van Persie to Man U and Arsenal are a better team now) and hopefully use cash to strengthen team in the areas we need.

Get really fed up with everyone always thinking the worst cause guess what if you think negative then that is how thinks turn out, well known that. So hopefully t/o all sorted by summer as that when it will be vital, not Jan when harder to get quality at a good price, keep the faith
Mr G

Agree4 Disagree0

Last week duffer this week ross, spammers just testing the water for a cheap cheeky bid, wet spam won't give the silly money needed. so won't happen unless ross wants to go.

Agree1 Disagree1

Just been confirmed on tv Radio Leeds but neither club have confirmed it.

He was on the radion yesterday saying how proud he was to be Leeds Captain so I hope he doesn't go!

Lifelongleedsfan

Agree2 Disagree0

Look, he ain't that good! If he were you wouldn't have the likes of poor teams like Middlesborough and West Ham bidding for him would you! The better teams would want him if he were any good. I can't see him going, although I wish he would, he's the reason we don't get anywhere as we rely on him and him alone, get rid then we can build a team

Agree1 Disagree3

Why are people worried its only a bid and will get rejected ://

If we could do a cash plus Carlton Cole deal now we're talking

2 the last post ROSS MAC stays . end of story. we want to move FORWARD not backwards, have faith inBMD, give him the funds and he will sign the players we need.lets just get the t/o done and dusted once and for all.

Agree2 Disagree0

Atleast Austin ain't leaving, surprised nobody has gone in for him, quality player most of the time

To the last post, that's your opinion, others have different ones, I for one am with the poster who says cah plus Cole and get it done

Agree1 Disagree3

24 Jan 2014 21:09:58
Don't rate Cole at all, rather keep Ross least his work rate is decent. Cole's a lazy player not that I mind a lazy player if they score, but Cole just doesn't score enough in my opinion

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Jan 2014 00:57:15
Carlton cole + cash . Ok stop this rubbish now, unless the cash is 10m & cole is prepared to play for nowt. Rossco is our lifeblood at the moment . Without him our season is on the slide.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ross is the reason we don't get anywhere? you having a laugh? without ross we'd be propping up the yeovils and barnsleys. how about we build a team while he's still here, doesn't that sound better than lumping off the leagues top scorer to build a 'team' that couldn't hit a barndoor

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jan 2014 11:38:06
Not his fault they rely on him, it's the teams fault they can't play without him. And sayin he's no good. 18 goals, leading scorer not only for leeds but in the whole league. With a below average team behind him. Don't know about anyone se but that says a lot to me

Looks like it's not just ehj seems Ross is up for sale aswell now!

Agree1 Disagree1

Cant say I blame the owners, Diouf is being paid in excess of £12,000 a week, Becchio would likely want more than that, to come back, and given the amount of fringe players on biggish wages from last season (Thanks Warnock), I would say our overall wage bill is huge, when we offload the likes of Norris, Tonge, Drury, we won't be giving out massive wages on player.

24 Jan 2014 21:52:27
Becchio - Why Why Why do we keep bringing him up! let's remember him for what he did BUT He left last season SO for gods sake let's move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the 9th reply, but Beckford still gets linked, and he was years ago, and even last season, and the past few seasons, we were still being linked with Alan Smith, Bowyer and Woodgate, people never move on it seems.

Why would we want the Argi back?

el hadj diouf on his way out of eland road after the recent acquisitions of stewart and kebe, however BMD is looking at options for the centre of midfield with Darren Ambrose and Peter Whittingham being the first choice options however Whittingham is extremely unlikely in my opinion, would be an amazing pull if BMD could sort it.

Due to the current uncertainty and rumour surrounding the potential imminent new ownership including a possible change of manager, which continues not to be officially denied by club, plus GFH pulling the plug and refusing to financially fund transfers- why would a) Brian Mac be even attempting to recruit new players? b) Does BMac still have a mandate to recruit for our club? c)Which players in their right minds would contemplate a move to Leeds at present time? let's be realistic and accept there will be no recruiting until the deal is done and we know who our manager will be and whether he/she has pounds or pennies to spend.

Agree5 Disagree2

Ambrose is a winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'snt that why we paid 1 Million for Murphy?

Agree1 Disagree0

Well A/ because he is the manager. -b, his mandate is he us the manager. And C, because we are a massive club with huge potential and only a few points off the playoffs despite recent form.
I hope this answers your incredibly negative post.

Reports continue to suggest Massimo Cellino has agreed to buy a majority share in Leeds United, for a price of €50m.

The current Cagliari owner was rumoured yesterday to have reached an agreement to take over the English Championship outfit, who have otherwise been in talks with a British consortium over a proposed takeover since November.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Cellino had been in secret negotiations with Leeds United owners Gulf Finance House, which in recent days have accelerated to this point where a €50m purchase of 75 per cent shares in the club has apparently been agreed.

Cellino’s son and current Cagliari Vice-President Ercole, is seen as part of a delegation to have travelled out to Yorkshire to define details of the deal today, and has posted images on Instagram of the English side’s ground.

Speculation is already turning to eventualities of the deal, including Cellino targeting QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar as his first recruitment at Elland Road, as well as where this may leave the Miami-based entrepreneur’s current side Cagliari.

L’Unione Sarda, who this week ran an interview with Cellino that indicated his increasing frustration with the Isolani’s current situation, believe that the club are increasingly likely to be sold, should the Leeds buyout prove successful.

This is a story on football italia- seems pretty legit to me. Couldn't hurt to link up with a serie a team, watch this space.
