Apparently ipswich to announce that they have signed Stockdale tommorow. So any news on who we are getting for sticks now? Lonergan as Phil brown said?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I think it will probably be Lonergan, I totally agree with the club re: Stockdale, you can't have your number 1 on a 24 hour recall clause.

My money is on Lonergan, announced Monday or Tuesday...

stockdale not signing, according to his cousin he wanted to sign and his wife wanted to come back to leeds but leeds wouldn't accept the 24hr recall clause that fulham wanted, so he is going to Ipswich instead

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Leeds and villa have a good arangement so expect some loans from there.Eric Lichaj deal will be done permanent like the delph deal its a good club for us to do business with.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm wondering if the good relationship with Villa is something to do with the "Undisclosed" nature of Delph's transfer?

Was borrowing Villa players part of the deal? {Ed045's Note - Not a bad shout...

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds should not be looking at a loan goalkeeper as a no1, They should buy an experiance goalkeeper, ie Hanaman or Lonergan.

Lonergan smith m johnson to sign next week watt as well if we opt against mendy

Believable8 Unbelievable10

If smith was gonna sign he would of done it by now

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance with Johnson - he is 2 stone overweight

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith is in the US with Newcastle but tbh nufc are still touting him around they do want rid but don't expect him to sign due to wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendy did well again on Saturday against wendy's & he's now being named so 2 + 2 = he's staying (hopefully)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well at least you were right with lonergan roflmao

Leeds manager Simon Grayson expects to complete his third new signing of the summer on Monday.

Grayson has been linked with a host of names since the end of last season but has so far only brought in goalkeeper Paul Rachubka and midfielder Michael Brown on free transfers.

Fulham keeper David Stockdale, Arsenal youngster Sanchez Watt and Coventry midfielder Sammy Clingan are all reported targets for Grayson, who said: "I would say we are 95% sure of having a signing by Monday.

"We've agreed a deal but until it's signed, sealed and delivered I'm not going to say who or what position.

"From the outside it might look like we've not been doing much but I can assure the fans we are working ever so hard to do things.

"This is the first one and hopefully there might be a couple more by the end of next week."

Believable14 Unbelievable6

What is the point of just copying and pasting things off ? Tell us things we don't all already know you moron

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people might not know... get back to readers grannies you t1t

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. People come to this site to find all the rumours & info in one place - thanks for posting this up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes- no need to be abusive to a fellow fan who is not just making stuff up.
It's up to the ed to not over repeat posts and he does a good job with respect for fellow fans
This is precisely why you are not an editor here {Ed007's Note - We try to post up as much as we can without it being too repetitive, but we like to post things up from people who a) are regular posters and b) leave a name. If people want to post up stuff from newspapers etc that is absolutely fine, not everyone reads newspapers (including myself) and it is still informing others of the information. If there was an article in a paper and it wasn't mentioned on here people would complain about that and quite rightly IMO.}

It's funny cos I am sat here I know for a fact stockdale has signed even yesterday when brown said lonergan had signed I said no because my source of info is 100%, even when reports said deal had fallen through I knew and now they have changed there minds again sayin stockdale is choosing he had already chosen take it from me our new keeper is stockdale I just can't tell you my info or a long friendship would be broken also Leeds will sign Johnson on loan on thurs I have been told also

Believable13 Unbelievable18

Would love both these to be true it would take the edge of my total dejection but not holding my breathe re Johnson

Agree0 Disagree0

That's like me saying I know next weeks lottery numbers but I'm not going to tell you. Without proof you won't believe hence why no one will believe you unless you can prove that he has signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm just sorry I can't tell you my source of info but seriously don't worry

Agree0 Disagree0

If your source is 100% you would say who it is and not say "im not telling you". Some people on here are pathetic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whens the signing of stockdale to been announced?? and johnson to be announced on thursday for definate?

i would love to believe this, just with the failed signings of so many players, its hard to believe anything anymore.

smith, woodgate, bowyer, kruse, frings.....etc. can't say anythings concrete untils its on the OS

Agree0 Disagree0

You either believe me or you don't don't bother me either waygonna be quids in when he is revealed got nice little price on stockdale last night

Agree0 Disagree0

Total crap he's a Ipswich player as of tomorrow morning.. ken bates will not pay his wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll believe it when I see it. But atm I just dont have faith in Leeds to bring anyone in.

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said in my text if I told you the source I would be risking a long friendship it was told in confidence

Agree0 Disagree0

It's nothing to do with bates not paying his wages for once let's not turn it into a bates bashing article It's to do with the recall clause Leeds don't want one in fulham do

Agree0 Disagree0

Can all the people who are having a pop please come on here tom and apologise for doubting the info I gave you thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody says that though. Some signings are bound to happen eventually so i could have a guess with stockdale, johnson etc. Post your name then and we will see. You could go on this every day and say some total crap with something coming off

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person above. Very true look at what happened with Smith, Bowyer & Woodgate. everyone said they were all coming back to Leeds and look they go elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stockdale has not signed for anyone and Leeds Utd FC informed Fulham FC on the 22nd of July 2011, that they will not be pursuing further interest for Stockdale. Lonergan has agreed to join Leeds Utd and once the full requirements have been completed, the club will make an announcement. {Ed003's Note - I thought Lonergan was nailed on for Everton this coming week}

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sign Johnson I will kiss your feet let alone apologise

Agree0 Disagree0

I find this funny as f@?k all these so called leeds fans . if you are true leeds fans you would know by now that us fans only know who has signed when the deal is done. The next thing is ask yourself why did Ken Bates make Simon grayson manager of our great club ? : answer ......... because he is a manager who can work with a squad of players without spending millions of pounds and getting us in the s**t like last time around. Second question : When did Simon Grayson last let us down he got us out of league one first time of asking and he nearly got us to the playoffs on the first time of asking without spending millions like other teams so shut the f@?k the up and get behind grayson and the club because if he does get us promoted to the prem alot of you guys are going to have to kiss some ass as a way of saying sorry. keep the faith leeds united till i die ( what do you think ed ) {Ed007's Note - I am not a Leeds fan, but I can understand your post, I think SG is doing a good job under the circumstances and I agree that the club do not want to end up in the same situation as they were. I actually think Leeds have a good chance of at least a play off place this coming season}

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy talks absolute b*llocks. He will be posting Lee Chapman is in talks to return Dick

Agree0 Disagree0

We will all apologise if Stockdale signs, but when Lonergan actually signs later on today, you have to come on here and admit you are a baffoon.

Agree0 Disagree0

The person who started this topic, needs to be very aware that posting false information is not helpful to the club and I would suggest the player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have a word with your friend and tell him to stop telling you porkies, Stockdale is in ipswich and Lonergan is in Leeds finalising his transfer. stockdales a good keeper yes, but having a 24 hour recall is not a good idea for leeds. mot

Can anyone enlighten me on who Leeds are signing as a keeper, is it Lonergan or is the deal for Stockdale still on?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Looks to be Lonergan most likely he's not as good as stockdale but still a very good keeper so im happy

We will have a goalkeeper signed by tuesaday Max Gradel to stay so thats GREAT News also
if we don't spend any money on any player this season, we will get Relegated Gj

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Great news about gradel, but why do you think we will be relegated just because we might not spend money on players?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish if we don't spend we will get relegated are you insane. Did u not see were we finished last season and seen as they only 4 first team players who have left I would not panic as 2 was goal keepers. We have a realy good strong squad and the free players and loans is all we need as they are loads of free players who are better than Any Brads and killa and they is far better keepers than kasper he played off his dads name

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Its not up the footballer / keeper young un ..its ruled by the club directors decisions - players have no choices IF clubs say no to clauses in contracts - he may want to come to leeds but hes GOING to Ipswich if he likes it or not very sad reality is that BATES over ruled it again should of signed stocky and another young keeper to cover us

Afternoon all.

My mate rang me yesterday with some news on the Stockdale situation.

We knew Stocky years ago when he played cricket at New Farnley Cricket Club. He's in Leeds for a christening this weekend and was having a pint with my mate in the Hanover pub (wortley) on Friday night.

Apparently, he was set to sign on loan but Bates has said no to the 24-hour recall clause. When my mate asked where he'll be going, he said it's now likely to be Ipswich.

Shame really, and hope it changes.

MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Ill bk tht up as I was in the Hanover on friday night and know Stocky was in there, didn't get chance to speak to him though guttin really as he wud hav been a quality addition, looks like its gonna b Lonergan after all

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, i dislike bates, however, having a goalkeeper on loan with a 24hr recall clause in his contract is of no use to Leeds at all. If he is at Leeds on loan, then he is at leeds on loan, period. No other club is more important than Leeds United. So why should we put up with such a ridiculous clause

Agree0 Disagree0

Cardiff look set to unveil their 9th and 10th signings of the season in Kenny Miller and Rudy Gestede following some very useful additions to what was a strong side already. We wait wth baited breath to see if Tom Soares will join Brown and Rachubka at our beloved club. Promotion anyone ?

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Replying to my own post Cardiff lost twelve players close season but the point remains that the quality players they have signed make our signings, our trialists and probable signings look 2nd rate ( although I believe we wii get a decent keeper even if its a loan )

Agree0 Disagree0

Mid-table obscurity for us. Weren't cardiff supposedly financially strapped and in danger of bankruptcy?

With all the players we have sold and the money coming into our club we should have signed plenty.......oh that's right, bates is our chairman and the money I'd currently sitting in the east stand on boxes that will be mostly empty. After all what corporate event wants to take place at a team in mid table??

Agree0 Disagree0

Relegation battle year in year out until we get rid of Bates, who is stealing all the money for his own gain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cardiff are going for broke, its obvious, s**t or bust. I could really give a monkeys how many players they have brought in. No point in bringing players in for the sake of it

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you really jealous of someone signing rudy gestede...nobody has ever heard of him, he could be rubbish also miller is a journeyman. we dont need him. in all honesty i dont think a champ club has signed anyone who i thought 'we should have got him for that'. even bowyer, we dont need another 34 year old, never mind a 34 year old ex player with a bit of 'history' shall we say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Relegation battle get a grip guys is they any Leeds fan that actualy watches the games or listens or even give a dam we finished 7th last season and we have lost no one important from our team if anything we will be stronger you prob won't agree but tell come christmass time you would be agreeing. And as for bates it his is money his club which we can still support thanks to him and as for the stadium development he has done because of people wonting the boxes to make us more cash and then when we are flying Hight with cash you will see top players at our club again but until we are flying High again we will get what we get so get behind our lads and let's see how we do if we fail this year then yeah it time to spend or bates out.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's easy to have a pop at bates but look at it in more detail

1/ he saved us from oblivion
2/ he is running us as a profitable business
3/ at Chelsea he found them a billionaire backer and before that had Harding who was very wealthy ready to take over-didn't just sell out to anyone, unlike Pompey
4/ had Chelsea up to debts like we had until he sold up, however unlike ridsdale seems to have learnt from mistakes, but at least Chelsea had a major development to show for their debts-elland road wasn't even ours by then

Everyone wants a sugar daddy but that brings other problems-look how man city team is so souless.

Best to go up when we ready and are clear of payback clauses that may send us back down as we couldn't compete

Tom Soares signing is about done. The info was released on his twitter account yesterday, but many questioned whether he really is Tom Soares.

Tom basically said that deal was ''90%'' done'' (sound familiar? :D) and all parties seemed very interested. He wasn't allowed to say anything too specific, but everything seemed very positive.

However, he proved his identity last night with a couple of pictures, in one of them, holding up his name written on a paper. I'd say that those pics along with conversations with his former team members, are about enough to say that it's him.

And btw, his twitter account was gone by this morning. And we all know what the club policy is regarding them

PS. Eremenko deal is off, since Leeds got fed up with the agent mess. As said, Leeds tried to contact the guy, but ended up talking to five different people who claimed to be his agent. Sad but true.

MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable5

The Eremenko comment on this post, have no foundation and are untrue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom Soars or any other professional football player currently on the register with Stoke City FC, have not and will not be offered a contract at Leeds United FC

Apparently Fulham, Stoke, Newcastle, Wigan, Swansea, QPR, Hamburg, Lille and Paris St. Germain are closing in on a 5 mill deal for Gradel (Sunday Mirror). Gradel has said
"Leeds is a massive club. It is the best I have been at and to play at a club like this is a dream."

"I want to keep playing at this club for a long time to come."

"There are a lot of positives to be taken from last season and now we are ready to go again. We deserve to be in the Premier League."

So he obviously wants to stay. If Bates accepts an offer I will be furious MOT

Leeds boss Simon Grayson is fighting to keep Max Gradel as nine clubs close in on the £5m-rated marksman.
Full story: Sunday Mirror

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Gradel doesn't want to go though an has said
Leeds is a massive club. It is the best I have been at and to play at a club like this is a dream.

I want to keep playing at this club for a long time to come.

There are a lot of positives to be taken from last season and now we are ready to go again. We deserve to be in the Premier League.
If Ken accepts an offer I'll be furious

Agree0 Disagree0

Its on news that Gradel plans to stay at Leeds "For a long time", and says he is happy at Leeds and says Leeds are a massive club, so if he goes its Bates cashing in.

Agree0 Disagree0

And playing devils advocate you don't think gradel could just be saying this to keep the fans onside so he doesn't look the bad guy if he does go? Or to enable him to get higher wages?

The Sunday Mirror is saying that Stockdale will decide this week whether to join Leeds or Ipswich on a season-long loan deal from Fulham. Ha No brainer there then Welcome to Leeds Dave

Believable10 Unbelievable3

If his he's choice then he will come to Leeds due to family ties love of the club been a supporter etc

Agree0 Disagree0

No brainer indeed - how many players have, allegedly, picked them over us?

we will offer contracts to successful trialists mendy, bodor (bulgarian LB) and maybe samuel

Believable8 Unbelievable9

I didn't get a chance to see the game, can anyone tell me how they did? look the goods?

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't offer contracts to both Samuel & Bodor as they play the same position and Parker already plays there, Aidy White can play there & if we sign Lichaj he can also play there..

Agree0 Disagree0

Samuel is injured and has already left the club

Agree0 Disagree0

They were all poor including Mendy. The left back Bodor made Bessone look like Ashley Cole - none of them good enough for the championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not signing samuel , grayson said he will not be returning

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendy looked fairly good again, probably just needs more fitness and more used to the team, league, country etc, could be really good. Bodor looked very average at best and unless he shows much more than this I dont think we should sign him. Samuel did not play but looked OK against Motherwell. While I am at it - on the others. McCormack looked very average although I dont write him off yet. Paynter looked garbage. Gradel was good as ever although probably not his best game and he was tightly marked so good experience for him. Brown was fairly innefectual and looked simply not fit enough to be worth lots of excitement among Leeds fans (not to suggest anyone is that excited about him). Lots of sudden running and gesturing from him but didnt really do anything that mattered and lots the ball etc. Nunez looked very promising agian. Osbourne OK but too early to say yet I dont feel yet he will be game changer. Clayton ditto at best. Bromby and Connolly - same as last year. Not terrible, sometimes good, sometimes bad. We can play them in the Championship and not get relegated but if we want automatic promotion I think we need a bit better than them period. Kisnorbo however looked better. If he keeps improving I think he has ticked a box missing last year (but thats still slightly an if). Parker off early but at best Id repeat what said on Bromby and Connolly. White did OK, but again Im not sure he is a game changer. Bruce was OK but really he is ditto as for the other defenders. Sam looked fairly good, but too early to say with him as his appearances are inconsistent and I am still not sure he is premier league class (more on that below). Rachubka OK but not as good as the Scottish games. I know that (1) we had O'Brian, Becchio and Snodgrass out, and (2) that we may be making more signings (although one of those will only be replacing Schmicheal which does not really move us on from last year), but Wednesday were arguably the better side, certainly were in the first half. If we want to get automatic promotion this year (which as Leeds United we should be aspiring to), or at least comfortably get in the playoffs (i.e. as per Swansea last year) rather than scrape into the playoffs (i.e. as per Forest last year - or us had we pipped Forest to it), we need to be bottom half of the premier league standard. Newcastle and West Brom last year, and still in there, QPR and Norwich this year (and I dont see either of them coming down), all of whom were as good as / could have beaten the bottom half of the premier league on their day. A good championship club should be able to do this / be as good as this (and we have showed at times we are, i.e. ManU away last year and Arsenal away this year). But my worry is on the coming season, after seeing this display, that unless we bring in some others we are going to struggle to do that, and even perhaps struggle to not get relegated. There is hope though. Nunez and possibly Kisnorbo. But if we loose Gradel, and dont sign one or two others who are a league above Brown (or at least how he looks at the moment) in terms of standard, then I am worried. But lets see what happends between now and Southampton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im the guy who posted and i didnt know samuel was injured however i do beleive bodor and mendy will be given contracts.
