CH players contracts up this summer worth trying to sign
keith southern Blackpool
micheal johnson leicester
ian Harte
matt Bates Middles
Luke chambers
Jay Tabb
and unlikely but would be great signing although because of age some fee would be required Jay Rodriguez

Believable10 Unbelievable28

Bates will be off to prem league in summer . we should of signed harte before he moved to reading for 100k

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnson was on loan at leicester, now back with man city, sent him back early unfit and rather fat, never tried to get fit what awaste of talent

Agree0 Disagree0

I know its unlikely but just think. If we got promoted and get atleast 10 million of prem funds and get rid of 5-6 of our s**ttest players and buy good ones......... what a dream :)

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to be joking with Ian Harte - the man who scored about 10 very good freekicks/penalties but cost us at least 20 by inept defending. Basically Harte (and O'Leary for picking him) cost us a champions league place..............
Can't get out of mind that awful night at ER when Newcastles Salano turned a 3 - 1 defeat into a 4-3 away win - thank u Ian Harte!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mccleary too!, but apparently norwich are after him, anf he aint gonna want to join us after putting 4 past us

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree about Harte. Never understood how Harte and Bakke kept their places in the team. Think we would have won the league with a decent left back at that time. Oh well, all history now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cannot believe people are knocking Ian Harte for past performances - we are not in the Champions League we are in the Championship! Look what a good job he has done for Reading. However, it is too late now, should have got him two years ago when we had the chance - will be too old next season. {Ed013's Note - I spoke with Ian Harte's Brother last year in Florida and he said Ian wanted to come back to Leeds, but despite reported interest SG didn't go for him. Reading did and in my eye's that was another missed opportunity}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can`t believe you muppets knocking Ian Harte.. Great servant for Leeds and prob had many bad games just like lazy Viduka, but decent player and more than capable at this level. Who would you rather have? Bessone ?
"T"

Agree0 Disagree0

I know that this isn't really relevant, but I struggle to agree with the remark "lazy Viduka" - the problem is that most people who say this didn't really watch him individually in matches. He was a class player, and was nowhere near as lazy as players like Kewell. He only looked kind of lazy because he was always next to Smith, who just ran around like a headless chicken. Viduka had much less energy than Smith but was a much better player.

contracts expiring maybe worth punt
Jody Craddock DEF
Declan Rudd SUB KEEP
ZAK Whitbread DEF
Long shot but worth a try Kevin Davies ATT
James McFadden ATT
Stephen Kelly DEf
Peter Lovenkrands ATT

All these players are worth trying to sign some more likely than others admittedley but hey why not try?

Believable3 Unbelievable20

Only McFadden and Kelly are wirth going for there

Agree0 Disagree0

They will go to some rubbish club for more money

Agree0 Disagree0

I think all of these names are awful shouts. they are all premiership players that wouldnt drop down a level

Agree0 Disagree0

The only two players that are likely to drop down a level are Peter Lovenkrands and Jody Craddock, Due to age, or Zak Whitbread. The others will be in the premiership still.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying that we are getting any of them just that the are avalibe and if warnock gets rid of some of the poor players then we could maybe get 1 or 2 of the above in

Expect Neil Warnock to have a massive clearout in the summer, The following players to leave..
O'Brien, Vayrnen, Forrsell, Bruce. (all out of contract in the summer).
O'Dea loan ended. Expect a few more to be tranfer listed if anyone interested. The likes of Nunez, Paynter and Connolly etc.
This little lot gone will give NW enough funds to get his 4 or 5 targets he wants. 2 or 3 Defenders, 2 midfielders and a forward.
MOT.

Believable24 Unbelievable7

Forsell and Nunez have never been given enough of a chance. Youngsterd such as Thompson, Clayton and Lees need to be kept hold of for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom Lees is not good enough, O'Dea isn't a bad player. {Ed020's Note - i would like to see vayrnen have a fair crack at it too, he's been scuppered by injury}

Agree0 Disagree0

O'dea out of contract in the summer. so no loan deal will be done. maybe a permanent signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees is a good young defender and will improve

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say that Tom Lees is our only defender who is good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bruce should stay- given a fair crack of the whip he is a decent defender; lees is only young and hopefully will improve but has been somewhat of a liability at centre back in recent games. Paynter has only been seen in 5 minute bursts and so doesn't deserve all the stick he has been getting. Why not try him upfront alongside McCormack for a couple of games and see how he does.

good result going our way again today with brum and cardiff still in our sights with a 1 - 1 draw so never say never! we can dream cant we MOT

Believable9 Unbelievable3

We can dream but to be honest i would rather wait another season to get better equipped for the premire league i mean if we went up this year we have to pay a further 25 mil which is a huge chunk of money especialy as we would need to sign around 10 players next year that debt would be written off let warnock assemble a good squad and win the chapionship next year would be nice to win something lol

According to the people newspaper warnock will sign paddy kenny in the summer!

Believable15 Unbelievable6

Can't see that one in the people. maybe i'm blind.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can confirm it was in the People! I saw it myself!

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock praises Lonergan for the penalty save and then looks for his replacement?

Nothing changes then....

Agree0 Disagree0

Lonergan is good kenny may be better but bluntly goalkeeper is not where we need to improve. Lots of areas that are far more suspect than andy lonergan ie defence

Agree0 Disagree0

Lonergan and kenny are equals i think. buying kenny would be a waste of valuable transfer funds. we instead need 3 new defenders (all except lees can go) and a DM (brown has played well recently but he's old and hasn't really got the legs to be our first choice DM next season)

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that the goalkeeper department isnt of particular concern to me

Agree0 Disagree0

If Paddy wants to come and fight for the jersey with Lonners all season then great coz the competition will be healthy for both but if it's to replace Lonnergan then I'm afraid Colin's got this one wrong. Lonnergan is a really good keeper nearing his prime whereas Kenny is an excellent keeper getting towards the end of his career. If NW feels the need to replace Lonnergan then i for one would prefer McCarthy.
