im actully starting to thinkthat cuddly kens got a master plan to take us up {Ed025's Note - really?

Ken bates only has one ambition and that is to make as much money as he can without spending any. He is happy to buy players on the cheap or get them in on a freebie. If they start to show any quality and other clubs start to show an interest he starts seeing pound signs. He has no real ambition and whilst he remains in charge he will continue to look at corporate entertaining as this is a way to bring in revenue that will continue to line his pocket. He is not interested in investing in quality players to help the club drive on to achieve our ambition to be back up where we belong. WE are a premiership club with a division 2 chairman and whilst he remains to hold the purse strings we are not going to achieve the ambition that we all want and deserve. LUFC until I DIE. we love Leeds. {Ed025's Note - you talk a lot of sense...leeds are a massive club..but will find it difficult to achieve their potential, while bates is in charge..

Would this be the Master Bates plan? There is no plan Emphasis is on ensuring no financial irresponsibility, going at his pace (back in Prem 2022) and buying many freebies along the way. Can you even remember the last million pound purchase?

Why does everyone keep going on about us not spending millions... So what, its good that we dont... Everyone keeps saying Bates is tight, milking club etc, but forget that he let Blackwell spend, and were only just getting over his dross now.....

The only master stroke m@ster bates ever pulled off was at bed time.

Yes Ken Bates does want to make as much money as possible but the best way he can do that is by getting LUFC back into the PL and selling it for millions more than it has cost him to reach there. IMO he will only spend what is necessary to do that and he doesn't need to do what Leicester and Ipswich are doing to do that
Look at some players brought into the first team in recent years : Howson, Lees and White - academy players - free. Nunez - free. Becchio - free. Clayton - cheap. Gradel - cheap. Snodgrass - cheap. All quality cheap or free championship players.

He will work with SG to get us up and then sell us on. That's fine by me.

When these new rules come into play you will be kissing bates arse he not stupid.

Not being funny but it grips me when people say leeds need to be in the premiership were we belong, at the moment we belong in the championship and have no given right to be in the premier league, we took a gamble with ridsdale, lived the dream for afew years then went into oblivion, that was our own faults for putting him there, but no team has a divine right to be in the premiership, i'm not a fan of bates but atleast he's keeping the club afloat, ok wouldn't mind seeing a new face hear and there but we have a decent squad and have made progress over the last few years

Badly treated was Grella but extra cash to spend on the Fin who will be much better. Want to see us get an extra 2 players in so we have a really strong bench.

Have already ranted about Grella. His attitude stinks, along with Alex Bruce's. Source - Academy Player who trained with them before anyone says the kids dont train with the first team

Official: Leeds Utd FC offered Mr Cruz favourable salary to join the club for one season, £3,000 per week and free entry to Mr Bates hotel and shopping empire once it is completed in 2035. The club stated that they would pay for a nights B&B at Sadie's Guest House near The Peacock Pub and the club car (Fiat Punto) was available for his own use. Leeds Utd feel rather upset that these excellent terms and conditions do not appear to have been what Mr Cruz was looking for. The good news is that this means the club save £3,000 per week to be invested (like all the other money) into the hotel and shops.

He would of been a decent signing though, look at the standard of football between him and other Championship strikers. He would of been one of the best strikers in the league if he was on form like he was at Blackburn. He would also get a lot of goals.

We were never in for Santa cruz he just used our club name to get himself noticed like all the other agents and players out there.

He was NEVER a target It was only because has dad mentioned Leeds in an interview that he even got linked with Leeds

Oh thats a shame,hell go there and not score any goals,his record is piss poor,hes no better than what weve already got.

So there's Spanish La Liga clubs in for him, English Premier League clubs but he'd drop eveything top play for Leeds in the second division?

Some of you lot need your bumps feeling, the only people that made Santa Cruz a target were a few deluded Leeds fans who are now p*ssed off because he's gone somewhere else even though there was never going to be a chance of him signing for Leeds in any lifetime

When did anyone at LUFC say he was a target??

Why do we need him give mccormack a chance the lads full of goals.

where on official site or skysports does it say gradel is going anywhere??

Go to the Leeds United page in the Football section...

It says sochaux have bid and forest are keen but it doesnt say he is going at all. numerous teams have been interested all summer, still dont mean he is going.

Forest have just bid 5 MILLION for gradel instead of going for nicky maynard, they look set to offer him 25k a week, i no forest leicester and west ham have a better chance of promotion but i would of thought he would wait for a prem team to come in end of the season, having said that, why would he want to go to a wigan or a swansea figning relegation, and socahux are a poor side. Why cant we just offer him big wages to stay, ?

Forest dont have that money hence why billy davies clashed with the board on so many occasions last year they are trimming the wage bill of big players like earnshaw mcckenna and adebola because they cant afford them

Billy didnt have the money mate because forest owner was selling his haulage company for 365 million now he sold it he brought steveie mac who has had 20 million available to him to date he has only spent 1.4mill on miller and 1.8 on derbyshire, greening was 800k. so yes we do have 5 million, add another 300 million to that forest can afford any player just wages are issues with the new FFP rule coming in next year. having said that paying ishmael miller 22k a week means forest have to get promoted they in same boat as leicester.

Forest have as much money available to them as they want mate, it states that on bbc. im a leicester fan and appaently there owner sold one of his compnays giving there manager a big pot just wages are issues for them like all of us with the ffp rules coming in next year. all there players that left were players that wouldnt get a game for them

Totally agree The original post is utter tosh, whoever put it up, are you 8 or just a bit mental? Whatever deals larry does will be done on the quiet and neither me you or some person down the Scarborough taps knows what's doing, and uncle ken won't spend so probably nothing doing
