Leeds United close to capturing a midfielder to strengthen there chances of promotion with one of - Craig Eastmond (Arsenal) - Andrea Orlandi (Swansea) - Keith Andrews (Blackburn).

Leeds also look to strengthen the deffence, with the loan signing of Sebastion Bassong (tottenham)

Leeds also in talks over getting Howson back on loan till end of the season, as he is a doubt of any first team football this year at norwich.

All sounded plausible till the last one. Howson will not be fit to play until the end of March. Lambert will introduce him slowly from mid end of April

Bassong would be a decent loan player to bring in,but sure spurs would rather sell him

Dont understand why norwich would pay money for howson when his contract was up at end of season, then loan him back to us til the end of the season...not sure about that one

Was all sounding good until you mentioned Howson... lol

Bassong would be a great loan signing, with King being a constant injury worry I'm sure they would rather loan Bassong out than sell him.

You never know if source is reliable it could be part of the sale contract and if true no doubt it would start on Tuesday so captain birdseye saves a weeks wages

If they waited until howson contract run out they stood a good chance of missing out. Norwich may actually fancy sending howson back on loan to gain fitness instead of risking playing him in prem league which would make sence .

Transfers: New Bid in For Jelavic; Leeds Refuse £4M
Leeds have reportedly refused a £4M "test the water" bid for winger Robert Snodgrass from the Hammers this morning. They are looking for £6M. West Ham are countering. Perhaps £4.5M and Sears? Gj

My Point is SHOULD we accept £6 Million for snodgrass ??
I think it's a good offer but would prefer Snodgrass to stay, what are your thoughts people Gj

6 million in Bates pocket & a relegation battle, or our best player keeping the team winning games? tough one.

It's not about the money. It's about a statement of intent about our promotion chances. Selling him to another championship club is not going to happen.

We refused 1.5 milllion for Beckford from Newcastle, and the promotion he helped us to more than made up for that.

Snodgrass is the key link in our team, and without him we are going nowhere....

Think about 5-6 mil is bates going to really miss out on this sort of money ,i doubt it

There must be players with as much skill as snoddy and for the similar amount of cash as we paid for him somewhere and if leeds think they have found this player they will sell

HELLO, Robbie Rogers IN Robert Snodgrass OUT - it wouldn't suprise me!

Snodgrass came out the other day and made it pretty clear he intends to stay, almost certainly at the prompting of the club, so I really can't see him being sold in January. In the summer maybe, if we don't go up.

West ham wanted Gradel didn't they and we're offering some rubbish payment plan over a long period of time.
Where have they suddenly got 4m from.
If Snoddy is going anywhere it will be to Prem or Spl.
6m is a good price though ! Could get 3/4 decent players with that..

If Bates was to get 6million for Snodgrass expect Grayson to see 10% of that to strengthen the squad

As for Snodgrass, bid was rejected earlier on today from WestHam.
This was on twitter from a WestHam member of staff.......

Hope Leeds keep saying no {Ed020's Note - word on the street is they offered 4 mill for him}

Leeds turned down £4M plus add ons from Norwich cant see them taking less than that offer, but again, dont think he is going anywhere

The bid is exactly that "word in the street" I.e. there hasn't been one. Confirmed by a number of reliable Leeds sources

Just browsing and noticed on Danny Rose's wikipedia page it states he joined Leeds on a four month loan deal on the 24.01.2012? I know its wikipedia and anyone can edit the pages but not heard this rumour anywhere so a bit random... ed? {Ed020's Note - probably best if you stop looking at leeds players or potential players, cause wiki is WRONG lol.}

Beckford not coming back as bates said he was offered to us last month!

Bates didnt say he was not coming back, what it said was we where offered beckford last month. not once did he beckford wasnt coming back.
Also beckford agent is in talks with brighton, but he wants to go to leeds.

On loan? he is on 30k a week at least, can't see it.

Have to agree, Bates said he was offered Beckford, but im sure there would have been a snodgrass in the same conversation!

Beckford wont come back, no point when we have better strikers than him, he only has pace and as he gets older will lose it, at best he probably has 12 months at the highest level, so he could get us promoted then be surplus to requirements.

Obviously you have to look at his past, went to everton..they didnt rate him after they signed him so sold him for serious profit....onlt Leicester interested in him,,now they dont rate him as they are bidding for all strikers available, he scored a hat trick and yet they still dont rate him...why should we....come on stop living in the past..buy Maynard if anybody.
