Gus is after a Striker, but we are not letting R Mac go... more likely CMS coming up the M1......

Agree0 Disagree1

This would some up warnock if true, a workmanlike striker who's nearly thirty who can get 15 goals at most a season, for a creative forward who will do a much better job for us if we get into the prem, creates and scores more goals and is younger!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so....i must be the only Leeds fan who is not a McCormack fan. In our style of play he is surplus to requirements, he doesnt work hard enough and is not as good as Douf. CMS runs his backside off, running the channels and bringing others into play. He would do well in the Premier league with the right players around him. I just hope this rumour is true

Agree2 Disagree0

OUR STYLE OF PLAY, your having a laugh? we dont need midfielders with our style of play, hump it long and the forwards will "run the channels" and "run their backsides off"
What did you ask santa for this year League one fotball and no value for your money?

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't give a damm about value for money at this stage, getting to the Premier league is my priority and NW has a history of achieveing this so we must back him

Agree0 Disagree0

CMS & GARY HOOPER Both deadly in the box. Rumours currently surround both at the moment with CMS / Mac both linked in opposite directions and Bechio and Hooper deal also linked. Think both of these deals will be financially sound business and provide a massive stike force. Watch this play out and keep looking for factual evidence. BETFAIR supports Bechio deal with Celtic and Hooper not signing contract extension

Hearing alot of names thrown in the bowl about whos coming and whos going, say what you like but just spoke to old man who's currently working up in scotland and an old names come back to light, he goes by the name David Templeton, whether this is true or not but Ross mcCormacks SUPPOSEDLY recommended him as the next big Snodgrass

Believable30 Unbelievable25

Prob not true but templeton would be fantastic I was banging on about signing him all summer . prob better than snodgrass got more pace Karl mot {Ed013's Note - I cant see him leaving Rangers}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not when he just signed for rangers. Will never happen.

Agree1 Disagree0

He would be a decent signing. Only problem is would Rangers let him go?

Agree0 Disagree0

Signed a 4 year contract with Rangers, very doubtful he will be released

Agree2 Disagree0

Plays for rangers only young looks like he has great potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip - Rangers won't let me go ?? Is this the same Rangers that are STILL in financial trouble..... IMO ANY decent offer is likely to be accepted... rangers will win their league by a mile with average players, and Templeton is anything but average....

Agree0 Disagree0

We should have got him before rangers did...dithering and dallying lost out aagain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has not excelled since his 750000 move to rangers and this is in the third division in Scotland this league is not as good as the northern counties would we except a player signing from this league

Gus Poyet has just moved his daughters to Queen Margaret's school near York. He will be Leeds manager within a week. MOT

Believable19 Unbelievable96

Why would gfh replace Warnock after publicly stating in their interview last Friday that he was one of the main parts of the takeover was that he was to remain as manager?

Agree0 Disagree0

More like york city manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe next York city boss then?

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just heard he's about to become manager of York City actually.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di matteo sent his kids 2 Cockburn high

His son also goes to Leeds uni and has for last 2 years..........

doesnt mean a thing

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this is true as not a big warnock fan , reminds me of when blackwell was in charge hoof it up front and hope something happens and in my opinion thats why mccormack does not feature too much as he plays football too much !

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackwell was Warnock's right-hand man for quite a while. Almost exactly the same sort of team and approach. Hoof and hope.

Leeds are in talks with Swansea striker Leroy Lita. Source:SSN

Believable17 Unbelievable58

27 Dec 2012 18:38:02
i carnt see that on SSN

Agree0 Disagree0

Just checked the website...nothing on there

Agree0 Disagree0

We can do better than Lita surely? It's a younger and pacey frontman with pedigree we should be looking at; players such as kenwyne Jones or Ricky Lambert would fit the bill and certainly show the best fans in the world our new owners are serious about getting the best team in the world back to glory years ..IMO :)

LUFC always

Agree0 Disagree0

Lita's footballing pedigree is pretty good... is the pedigree chum of his attitude I despise

Agree0 Disagree0

Lita is younger than both lambert and jones though and he has pace to run in behind unlike the other two you metioned.

Telling u all now lads Wornock will sell mcormack in Jan as he's not a fan of him and mcormacks not happy either sat in bench . Like it or not lads he will sell him and bring in probably mcs. It's a shame cause we need to keep all are best players . Instead of selling Ross. we need to bring in 4/5 quality players (lb with pace .2 class wingers with pace .and a quality center mid to go with what we've got ) let's just hope if gfh give Wornock money in Jan he gets it right cause the league is still for the taking .Mot

Believable36 Unbelievable27

Hasn't he literally just signed a contract!?! Why would he sell him. Jesus man get a grip!

Agree0 Disagree1

If I'm honest, I would rather lose Warnock than McCormack. he seems to have lost the plot a bit against the florists, some bizarre team and sub choices

27 Dec 2012 19:59:31
I thought the same thing but the more i thought about it i couldn't see a positive outcome from selling him as he can play wing and striker same as somma and diouf . We have a strong attack but not strong enough to move any of them on .

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with 2nd reply Warnock can go, as he's no real loss in comparison to McCormack.
He looked really composed and skillful against Forest.

Agree0 Disagree0

So why did warnock get him a new improved contract then??

Warnock will bid 1.5 million for billy sharp .
Tate wont sign as warnock doesnt think he is good enough he will move for leicster centre back st ledger

Believable27 Unbelievable49

Warnock will not get Sharp for £1.5m.
And you will not get Rodriguez or Lambert either! Anyone else you fancy at Saints? There is always Elsie-she makes a lovely cup of tea!

Agree0 Disagree1

St Ledger is average and injured went to see a specialist in Germany last week , Tate is far better

Agree0 Disagree0

St ledger is no good coming from an Irish leeds fan , mikeire

Agree0 Disagree0

We will get em cheaper next season when southampton are back in champioship

Agree0 Disagree0

But, Leeds will also be in the Championship next season, so why would Premiership players move to a Championship side?

Leeds targets:-

Definates - Alan Tate CB from Swansea
Michael Tonge CM from Stoke
Ryan Hall RM from Southend

Likely - Jerome Thomas LW from West Brom
Billy Sharp STR from Southampton
Craig Mackail Smith STR from Brighton

Outside chance - Rickie Lambert STR from Southampton
Florent Malouda LW from Chelsea (loan)
Ian Harte LB from Reading
Alejandro Faurlin CM from QPR
Max Gradel RW from St.Etienne

Believable61 Unbelievable26

Would that be the same Billy Sharp that scored against us twice for Nottingham Forest?

Agree1 Disagree0

Gradel is at PSG.....doh

Agree0 Disagree1

Malouda and lambert haha good n

Agree0 Disagree0

PSG as of when? MOT!! White4Life

Agree0 Disagree1

Billy sharp is at forest on loan from southampton so yes same player, and max Gradel at PSG? Maybe you should these things before you comment haha he's still at st.etienne the team he left to join from Leeds haha

Agree1 Disagree0

No - Max Gradel is at St.Etienne as OP stated. Don't try to bash someone when you don't have your facts right.

StevenLufc

Agree1 Disagree0

No mate gradel is at st etienne . And if we did get these names in that's defo promotion fodder .Mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Sharpe is on a season long loan agreement at Forest with no recall

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2012 21:03:20
why would we want Ian Harte back , everyone says we need pace !!!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ian Harte's balls into the box, is why he would be a good signing. He could be the difference between 5 goals and 20 goals. Some people are too young to know that he's not about age, he's about set peaces.
BARMY ARMY!!!
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't really need pace at LB, we just need someone who can hold his own. Harte can do that

Ryan Hall, loan move made permanent... 150k fee, 2.5 yr deal !! Suppose no surprise there.

Believable27 Unbelievable2

Keep byram let white go,,

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock says 'I see him as having potential for a big future'...yeah Colin, so much so that you dont even include him on the bench in the last game, you'd rather play Varney than him...strange Colin very strange.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2012 13:37:32
Both manchester clubs chasing byram, and everton want aidy white, never rains but it pours.

Believable15 Unbelievable37

Wouldn't be bothered about Aidy White, his control of a football is suspect, he clearly can't defend. However Byram is a talent, he's signed a three year deal in the summer, and as Warnock said this week, we no longer have to sell. Plus Byram would easily command a figure in excess of £10 mill for a young English talent.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2012 17:12:24
byram won't be off anywhere unless the offer is ridiculous .white can go for 750k

Agree0 Disagree0

Let everton buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram would b silly to join either of them hell never get a game, best to stay with us for a while then see wheres hes at

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure if some people are serious on this website, byram 10m lol I'd sell him for 3m people must be crazy.

Demba Ba has a buyout of 7.5m, Michu cost 2m and people think Byrams worth 10m, oh dear...

I don't want to sell White or Byram because I think both are good players, not sure why White gets all the hate when under NW he's played in every position apart from the one he likes.

Aidy White has just turned 21, people need to get of his back while he's still learning.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aidy white gets what he deserves on this site, all he has is pace he cant cross past the 1st man
He tried holding the club to ransom in the summer until he realised nobody else wanted him with the compo they would have to pay leeds
are you his Dad/Agent by any chance ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I say take Everton's money, but tell the Mancs to do one !

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba and michu are foreigners, English talent goes at a premium, so Byram costing 10m is about right!
Oxlaide Chaimberlain - 8 mill
Fabien Delph - 8 ill

The above players shone in league 1, Byram is shining in the Championship!

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought that Oxlade-Chamberlain was £12m, and Delph was £6m

Very disappointing result yesterday. Warnock blaming the teams naievity but IMO warnock was the naive one with his poor team selection. when we went 7 games without a win he carried on insisting on playing brown and austin together, then austin got injured and brown suspended and although we lost at millwall we then won 5 out of 6 against some of the top teams in the league, so why go back to the austin brown partnership? they are both ball winners and far too similar without any creativity.they both sit far too deep and just invite pressure, i like austin alot and would be one of the 1st players on the team sheet but everyone could see he wasnt fit enough yesterday, i personally dont see what norris has done to be dropped and i would of preferred to of seen him and green in the middle of the park yesterday with byram hall and thomas on the wings. On ryan hall, does anyone know what his situation is? And also whats happening with Warnock and McCormack? Varney was getting ready to come on yesterday and Ross pulled his shinpads out of his socks and chucked them on the floor. It seemed like warnock only changed his mind once the fans started chanting "ross mccormack" and then he put him on to play right wing! something must be wrong for warnock to think of somma rather than mccormack as his 1st attacking substitution?

Believable56 Unbelievable3

Totally agree with u Austin shud never have started Norris was 1 of the best players v boro mCcormac shud be starting his final ball to set up goals is second to none and wot the heck was drury doing playing I'd rather see white there then him all there main threats cum from his position bring on jan get these loans tied up plus a lb, rw, and may be a creative midfield I don't think we need another striker we av got 4 good players at this level already and i think ashdown should be given his chance in the leauge tho I for 1 still think top 6 is possible MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO, hall is better than paul green on the right side, mccormack is better than diouf and anybody is better than brown. as for lee peltier get rid of him! terrible! bring back paul connolly.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the Drury/White selection, why o why is Drury being selected over Aidy ? - No matter how much Warnock makes excuses, his team selection was poor and he should have the decency to own up to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree original poster!
When the substitutions were made we looked better but it was too late. Austin looked unfit, brown was not as bad as he has been, however it didn't work together. Norris deserved his place.
I was quite pleased with mac and somma link up and somma looked sharp and if anything quicker than before.
Basic thing was that too many went missing and the defence had little protection as we squandered possession and allowed them to run at us.we looked tired
We don't need a striker we need a top defender and midfielder
White teeth

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. Main problem I have with Mr Warnock is that he always feels the need to play ppl out of position. Never a good idea if u ask me. Jst get players in there preferred position and pick the fittest and most motivated players to fill them spots. U dont need bags load of quality, its the championship man!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree, I love Austin but no where near fitness level, green and Norris should be in the middle with byram on the right, I also like diouf but I think McCormack is far superior and it won't be too long before Somma starts scoring better than Becchio. Unfortunately luciano keeps scoring lucky goals and he's one of warnocks favourites as well as brown so they'll stay in the starting xi

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown as captain is a mistake. He spent so much time mouthing off at the referee every time a foul went against us instead of concentrating on getting our players organised and defending properly we'd probably have done a lot better

He's supposed to be a senior pro leading the youngsters by example.

Agree that Austin and Brown together in midfield are too similar. They both fall back to far and invite opposition on to us. Brown also gives to many fouls away in our own half. His brain is slow, time to go.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Norris should have played. But sorry there is no way White is a better left back than Drury ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Definaltly need an attacking minded CM with creativity thats what we lack. the missing piece all along. I'v been to about 10 games this season home and away and we always seems to get dominated in the centre of the park, cant string more than 2 passes together, never thraten to go forward, when we get the ball there if a bit of space we just hoof it towards the box and give it away, think its more important to get that position covered than a ST, LB, RM ect. I know it's a long haul but if we could temp stephen ireland to ER the team would massivly improve the squad he is just what we need!

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree. Yesterday's team selection was two steps back. Austin isn't fit and Brown needs somebody with energy at the side of him. Green is not a winger! He is full of energy and covers every blade of grass, he has to go in the middle. Sam on the right is a better option, although he did get caught out a couple of times. Andy Reid did him for pace once, but I won't knock the young lad, as he is one of our brightest stars

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here. i thought drury done ok to be fair, 1st goal come from brown and byram allowing the wide player to get the cross in, 2nd goal was good movement from sharp, 3rd goal come from the right and so did the cross for blackstocks. McCormack needs to start he gets involved in the game, offers both pace and movement and abit of creativity, becchio also plays better with ross as they are both then occupying a centre back and ross pulls defenders into the channels. my view on the game was that as someone mentioned earlier we are very poor in the middle of the pitch and forest started to play very narrow, reid and cohen majewski kept on cutting and playing little passes taking austin and brown out of the game. Lees and Tate dont feel comfortable in giving the ball to brown or austin so its just a kick up the pitch and becchio is not very good with his back to goal, hes much better with the ball coming in from wide areas, so the ball is continually coming back. if we had green and norris in the middle atleast they are 2 busy players, and norris would make runs from midfield meaning that one of their players have got to go back with him. i think warnock got it wrong and thats the most dejected ive seen him in the dugout to be honest, and im also wondering if that is because he may of possibly been told that theres not gonna be as much money from GFH as what he thought there may be.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last poster I wouldn't say byram got caught out by Reid I think it was more to the point that byram was left exposed by no-one in front of him to help him out green was playing to much I the middle of the park

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney coming on instead of cormack shoot me now

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he didnt play boxing day but I think pelts has had some fair criticism but has anyone seen him play RB? If Byram pushed up to rm we already know his link up with green is good, allowing green to be more central. This might let us see peltier playing a more suited role at RB. I would hand captaincy to someone else to take pressure off pelts. I worry if his performances don't improve he will get the 'barndoor billy' treatment which can ruin a player.
White teeth

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair mccormack needs to earn his place becchio n diouf been playin well up there so would b silly to drop either for mccormack untill he starts bagging some goals hes been given a fair few run outs since injury , upfront isnt a concern

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, i saw the teamsheet before the game and my first reaction was..... how fit is Rudy, coz he gonna be doin a lot of running.... not being funny, and i do actually like the lad, but i thought we would get run in the middle with the way forest play and the fact i knw what brown is like... so rather than be happy he was fit, i was initially worried about him... thought he should be eased back... esp as chuck is actually fit... and believe me,i dont actually think he great or anything, but surely a better option for the game than either rudy or brown...
i think the best strike partnership we have is ross and Becchio... so would like to see them start more games...
i think we need a LB more than anything, i dont trust aidy there, dont trust drury on the pitch, and i dont trust pelts in this sport.... but we have tried all three there now... but we have another option... Danny Pugh might be worth a shout (or maybe a whisper!!).... dont think he great, but may be able to do a job til we find better.... or til taylor fulfils his promise...
Also i think we should possibly try a different formation away from home... try and keep it tighter... even if it means dropping EHD... i think we could esp while we have thomas as his pace is a good "outball"...

Agree0 Disagree0

Top comment,at last someone who can read the game ,in my opinion warnock is not a leeds manager,we need a big name with aproper track record, its not that i dislike warnock he comes over very well and honest, but he still does not know his best team and has had very poor results

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with OP regarding the CM role, however Warnock got the forward substitutions spot on. Somma is more of a natural central striker while RossMac tends to drift out wide. Lets not forget the 2nd goal was scored by DS after an excellent cross by Ross

Agree1 Disagree0

"We need a big name with a proper track record" - how about Neil Warnock with seven promotions?

Agree0 Disagree0

How about Neil Warnock who's been sacked from a team on the brink of financial meltdown... that's happened more times than he's been promoted, I assure you.
Ask Palace fans what they think of his years of over-spending and under-achieving.
