Anyone know the score in tonights friendly?

Was 2-1 to BPA when I left with 15 to go. We were v poor, they were great. Was only when they had changed 6 players that we scored. Lonergan played - looks big & knows how to pick the ball out of the net

Calm down lads, remember it was just our reserves against their 1st team, and lonergan made some cracking saves, if we put him behind paddy and O'brien he'll be better than schmicheal.

Hmmmm because it matters what happend in this match. The only one with any chance of playing in the first time is lonergan and from what i heard of a mate that went is that if it wasnt for him we would have lost 4 1. I am obviously just going off what what was said but give the guy a chance.

Team was just youngsters though only first team player was lonergan. Game does not mean anything

Lost 2-1, but we played mainly a team of youths to gain experience.

Lost 2-1 played a young side , grella played and lonergan , but thats about it for 1st teamers

Mcfad's agent is based in Monaco ( who also represents McCormack and Amdy faye ) so may have mileage - would make sense if we can afford him to supply some firepower IF his knees has healed right ?

Nah... Can't see Amdy Faye at all... McFad is a possibility though

McFadden can play up front as well as midfield so fits kens clue, also he has plenty of quality. His fitness would be a concern but if definately fit we could not afford him. A trial would be great

McFadden is quite self explainitary, because Birmingham need to offload players...

He's been linked with a return to Everton, we'd never afford his wages anyway. If we could we wouldn't be signing rubbish players like Brown and offering trials to people like Samuel and unknowns.

You are just believing what Newcastle want you to believe, they are trying all they can to make Smithy go, including propaganda making him out to be a tight arse. You get so carried away by unsubstantiated reports in the media. Most people in the polls that I have seen of Leeds fans say they would like to have him back myself included, at least wait and see what he does before you ridicule him.

Why would we want him back? He hasnt played for a long time, has had injuries, and is ten years older than when he was here. Its nostalgia, anyone who thinks that he could come back and make a contribution is deluded. We want to move forward, not back

I'm so excited I can hardly breath Plus I doubt it, He signed a contract extension at Blackpool at the end of last season.

I hope so he's just what we need to add balance to our midfield. now we just need the villa lad back at RB, then a LB, then we'll be ready for the new season.

re micheal johnson, come on we cant afford his wages. We would probably want to do a deal to pay a percentage of that, but then leicester or west ham will come in and pay the full amount. Simple. End of discussion on that one. MOT.

The truth is we can afford Johnsons wages and many others that we have been linked with it is just that Bates will not pay them. We can afford to spend £7-8m on developing a stand we rent so we can pay we just won't MOT

To be fair, there was an article in the Yorkshire Post which suggested Leeds might be preparing a bid for Stephen Quinn and nick Montgomery. (Paper speculation)

Why should we all give Alan Smith stick?
And the same goes for David Stockdale?

We don't know the in's and out's of any transfer negotiations, we are basically ready to villify people based on media talk, rumours, speculation and lies

If we want to attract people to our club who will enable us to once again reach the Premiership then shouldn't we get behind potential targets and the management of our club?

Alan Smith is greedy bugger, who has no self respect or ambition. He sits on the Newcastle bench or goes to US in order to get the final big pay cheque, rather than trying to help his home team achieve promotion to BPL. He deserves all the stick he is about to get. It's just naive to think that players have no say regarding their future nowadays.

PS. He is an average footballer, past it and crocked. My dearest wish is that the never dishonours the whites shirt by wearing it.

The club then inferred that Smith had taken the offer out of greed, rather than as a favour to the club he loved.
The club should be appologising to the fans for deceiving them, to Smith for scapegoating him and the fans should be appologising to Smith for allowing themselves to belive the lies of the previous owners.
We owe him, not the other way around.

I'm on twitter and have spoken to Scott Wilson of the echo, had a chat to a few Nufc fans. Basically nothing official has gone on and there's only been tentative enquiries with Smith so all this stuff about wages are conjecture. Said it would definitely be an issue but expected him to leave and still thought Leeds would turn their enquiry into serious interest. Really unsure myself but we'll see

Lorimer and Gray both said the opposite that Smith wanted a move to Man Utd and ONLY man utd, stopping any other higher offers from coming in Its well known he was discussing his desire to go there with backroom staff, and they told him to go for it despite fans opinion and he did. We Leeds faithful dont want him anywhere near ER, returning to Leeds 5 years after our relagation for the 1st time shows how much of a Leeds Utd AFC fan he really is.

To all of you, I posted this stating my desire for us all to just get behind the team whether we agree with who plays and who doesn't or any other decisions made.

With Smith, personally I'm not bothered if he sign or not (I don't particularly thinly we need him), but regardless of the past, I'm sure that like every other signing, he'll give what he can to the cause
