Leicester want £850K for Peltier... I'd take Halford if thats the case. No chance he's worth that much

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Halford has signed for forest and Peltier is much much better. Also it makes a change not to be signing Portsmouth players.

Agree1 Disagree0

No chance of signing Halford now.. He signed for Florist today.. Good signing missed out on.. Would have preferred him to Peltier tbh..

Nevermind I know NW will have 3 big named signings up his sleeve. I honestly believe with the new owners giving him assurances about his job being safe they have provided enough funds for him to bring in his targets as prove his job is in fact safe..

Not a rumour just my thoughts really.. Warnock wont take any sh&*£ and will have told Bates or the the new owners wot his plans are and where he wants to take us..

Promotion all the way for lufc this season.. PL here we come!

We can get better for that sort of money , must be bad huddersfield have pulled out mot

bradford white

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. I think I might take Halford anyway, and use the Snoddy cash for the forward positions. All summer I've been asking myself: if Peltier was such a good player, is there any way Leicester would be looking to get rid? Such a shame we didn't get Ward -much better value, younger, more versatile, and possibly a better long term prospect. Chapel A

Too late I'm afraid halford completed move to forest !

leeds to sign one or two of these next week.

Beckford, Templeton, Maynard, dj Campbell, or Peltier

Believable11 Unbelievable4

For the money Leicester are asking for Peltier I'd rather go for Halford. Then I'd like to see us sign Templeton or a winger of a similar class (because Varney is not good enough to be Snodys replacement, decent squad player though) and then a decent striker plus make Cranies move permanent and we'll have a very decent squad (not just a decent team)

However whatever Warnock does I'll be happy because i certainly trust his judgement over mine.

It's on SK Brann official site that Rudy Austin has signed a year contract at Leeds.
MOT

Believable11 Unbelievable9

I think you mean 3 year contract from what I have heard.

Warnock is trying to sign George Boyd for 750k + Ramon Nunez

Believable12 Unbelievable7

Good call. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that really would be a good bit of business and perfectly believable. I personally like Ramon Nunez and believe he should be given the opportunity in his preferred role behind the striker, but as he doesn't fit into NW's plans it's time for him to move on and free space up for a George Boyd move ... my only doubt is the name Ferguson ... Daddy might not like the idea of Darren dealing with Leeds United.

Ed's and fellow whites!!

As you know i have posted a number of times re: the takeover...

I have received news today stating that the sale of LUFC is at least a few weeks of yet and is not imminent!

Due dilligence is still ongoing and I shall keep you up to date on any info i get! MOT!!

Trust me, I have much more important things to do with my time other than dream up crap that might wind up fellow Leeds fans! I only post on here what I know and what i hear! MOT!!

Youngie!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a confidentiality agreement in place regarding the takeover, so how come you have information that is currently not being reported by the media ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary cooper from lust said on the radio the other night, everything thing is complete, just waiting on bates to sign the deal

oultonwhite

Agree0 Disagree0

Youngie - whats the hold up, does the takeover still look on course.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because I do a lot of work with the solicitors dealing with everything! There is a confidentiality agreement in place, that is correct and I said in my first post about the takeover that due to that same agreement the details that I receive are minimal but nevertheless true!

At the end of the day every Tom, Dick and Harry can claim to be in the know...I just post what I am told whether it is good news or bad because I bleed white, yellow and blue and know that everyone wants to know the truth!

As I said the SALE is still a few weeks off...so the positive of a full takeover is still there! MOT!!

Youngie!

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if im wrong, but hasn't it been stated on here a few weeks back that youngie has inside info, even by the Eds, so it might be wise to listen to him.

I have heard warnock is trying to bring in both beckford and peltier for a combined fee of 1.5-2m. huddersfield have dropped out of race to sign peltier and beckford has told n. pearson if leeds come knocking he wants to go

ginnaleeds MOT

Believable14 Unbelievable9

If thats true then ill be one happy leeds fan, i think beckfords just what we need back to get us up

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford...
He cost The Foxes £3Mil I can see us getting hum for that.

Also his wage is around 30k ( not 40K )
so if he joins his wage will half.

Can't see him coming but would love to see him back.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on NW - lets get moving and bring Beckford back home. Badly need a big signing and proven goalscorer!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be great to get both. Beckford knows he was happiest at Leeds and should take up the offer, come on Warnock get the deals done

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on 25k and you would proably neebmd around 3.5 million for them both

He is on more than £25k a week. This is fact

Jungle Drums are going in Leicester....Jamine Beckford was left out of the Hinkley game because he was 'un-well', how Leicester played with 4 strikers, 2 of them new signing.

The Beckford to Leeds rumour is gathering pace, I can only assume a loan deal with an option to buy due to his wages, no one in their right mind would reduce their salary from £40K to max £15K per week.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

I think he has showed us over the past season his ambition to wear white again by his actions when Leeds have played Leicester. His attention has been much more on the fans than the ball.
I would (like every Leeds fan that went to watch us in League 1) happily take him back, amazingly fast, and not many can finish as well as him. But agreed, his wages could be a real stumbling block, that why I just cannot see it happening :/
- From 1 sad Leeds Fan

RyanMOT

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not on 40k wage ! but he will not want to join for 15k wage

Agree0 Disagree0

40k a week my A*** he is on 25k at the Foxes lol............MOT
MJB66

Agree0 Disagree0

The original poster is right, he is on more than £25k a week. I was told of his contract negotiations by a former premier league manager that is still involved in the game. He didn't want to leave Everton so demanded crazy wages to do so, and got it

Agree0 Disagree0

He is on 40k a week for defo as he took the wage instead of his percentage signing fee

He was on 25k at Everton

Ed this isn't a rumour but more of a theory...

I've been thinking the takeover might be complete and NW has access to funds, and the announcement just delayed until after he signs all the players he wants.

Possible reason for this is to prevent teams inflating their prices because they know we have new owners....

Prime examples of this are Man City and Leciester paying over the odds for players.

What does everyone think?

Believable16 Unbelievable10

Most of our signings are frees, but a good theory anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

I was chartting to one of Revies ex legend players today and he says Bates wants 60m for the sale of the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you have hit the nail on the head!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would make perfect sense, think of the queue of agents touting their players round if the cash and takeover had been announced, god forbid we might not have got Andy Gray :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on...It makes sense. When the takeover goes through the real money will be spent next summer...Ready for the Premier league...MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Very plausible however I believe (as you state that the takeover / investment may have already gone through. I believe the reason we won't see funds this year is that Warnock is only Likely to be here for 1 season (the last hurrah he mentioned) it would make no sense for to build his squad (not far off done) then give him a load of cash. Summary Warnock gets us promoted to PL calls time on management & new manager gets investment funds to keep us PL .... I rest my case Dan Flan Chester White

Was searching up on Templeton because i didnt know much about him and came across this blog that asked the question "who is the best player in the SPL outside the old firm?"

Most people said Templeton... WE NEED TO SNAP HIM UP! {Ed007's Note - He is a great little player, very attack minded and he is always looking to get forward with the ball. I would take him at Celtic, he will only get better.}

Believable11 Unbelievable6

I don't think we will be signing anyone for £1 million. He is a great player but Ken wont spend the cash

Agree1 Disagree0

I have never seen him play but i will look him up i have herd he is good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed -I so agree with you. Would really top off a solid summer to date if NW gave us a young, upcoming and exciting attacking prospect like this guy to get behind. A player to give us the bragging rights we used to have with Snoddy -"We've got Temps" has a good ring... Chapel A {Ed007's Note - He would be a good addition to Leeds already good squad. And if you gain promotion (I say every year I think Leeds will go up), after a year in Championship I think he would be capable of making the step up to the EPL.}

Accoring to YEP Warnock has stated that Luke Varney (yes Luke Varney) will be Robert Snodgrass' replacement. Sell a star player and replace him with a second rate player. Sound Familiar?

StevenLufc

Believable12 Unbelievable12

Give varney a chance before you dismiss whether or not he can 'fill' Snoddy's boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many goals did varney get in championship last year before injury 6 in 8.

How many goals did he score in premiership 6 better than Torres he scored 7 in 46 games. Now we know he is no Torres but Snodgrass scored 6 in the championship and 13 last season hardly amazing for a so called amazing player. Wait and seewhst happens we have three weeks yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock knows what he is doing, how often have you seen Varney play?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cripes, I hope that isn't true! And here we were, dreaming of swoops for Boyd, Templeton et al! Hmm, maybe that means the dosh is going to go on at least one, maybe two, marquee-level strikers. Here's hoping for the one or the other! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Varney second rate, surely you meant third! We are selling our prized assets and replacing them with free transfers. I cannot understand how other supporters are getting excited about all these players coming from Portsmouth with the excepting of Pearce, after all Portsmouth were relegated last year. We should at least be looking at bringing in some young hungry talent from League 1 and looking to the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give Varney a chance, Snodgrass wasn't so fantastic last season

Agree1 Disagree0

Snodgrass was a second rate player according everyone on here once he left

Agree0 Disagree0

What warnock means is that varney will play snoddys position .the money which we receive for snoddy will go to a 20 goal striker which will cost more than a winger , varney is good enough to play out wide and probably is his best position . don't panic warnock will bring in 2 class strikers before the season starts .everyone seems to think that because we sold a winger for 3 mil we need to go and spend a fortune on a winger . no need we have wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney had a cracking season in the Prem for Blackpool so see if Snoddy does the same. Varney wants to play for Leeds so give him a chance before slating him

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember Pompey were deducted 10 pts and we know from experience how a team can drop shoulders under the weight of financial worries

White teeth

Agree0 Disagree0

To all those thinking that Varney will play as a winger are misguided. It was well stated that Warnock was going to play Snodgrass just behind the strikers and where he expects Varney to play this season and even in the latest interview it states this. Too many people read headlines and not the full story.

MaltaWhite

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe snoddy will struggle in the EPL. Good championship player but too slow at the highest level. It is a pity that he leaves when the club finally appear to be showing some sort of ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy was a fantastic player for us, but could whinge when things went wrong. I wish him luck because he will be losing more than winning next year, Norwich do not have the quality needed to survive, just mercenaries who want premiership wages. Personally I think Snoddy should have stayed and took us up with NW. He could of been captain of a club where he'd of been loved, fitted in (or even around him) instead he'll be in a demoralised side in an nowhere outpost in Norfolk!

Leeds have made a double loan offer for Swansea duo Wayne Routledge and Stephen Dobbie. Swansea have rejected the bids, however they are willing to let the two players go on permanent deals if they secure two of their transfer targets so i wouldn't rule this one out yet.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Didnt neil say no loans unless there were injuries?

Agree0 Disagree0

Continuing with the pragmatic, realistic nature of NW's recruitment to date, reckon those pair could probably do a decent enough job for us. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Dobbie would be an excellent signing- played a big part in gettin blackpool and swansea out of this league-could be an ideal replacement 4 snoddy in the postion behind our fowards

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be great if we did get Dobbie, a class act.

Leeds are now in a better position at a chance to swoop for Peltier after the BBC reports that the asking price of £850,000 is out of Huddersfields reach.

I'm hoping now that we've won 1,000,000 from the police, we can use that at least to secure this signing. But alas, WE ARE LEEDS; and things unfortunately are never that simple with us.

MOT

Roundhay White

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Keep the faith! you never know what will happen. if sg was still here we wouldnt have bought as many players as we have and probably wouldve lost white as well. NW will bring in the players we need

Agree1 Disagree0

Warnock stated on yorkshire radio there:s 3 right backs on his radar think leicester are going to price Peltier out of a move to Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

We did with the money from that court battle.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not that he's out of Huddersfields "Reach", it's just that he's not worth any more than the £650k offered. If Leeds think he's worth more then go for it. Such a pity you don't have the backing of a rich middle eastern oil sheik to finance such a move!

Agree0 Disagree0

We aren't getting any hard cash from the Police court case. By all accounts it is being repaid over the next season, possibly 2 by way of reduced charges for the policing that they will provide for home games.
Excroggywhite

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't get 1mil from WYP they are skint what with govt cutbacks. Might get it back in bits or not pay for policing till its paid off

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Peltier worth that much? That's a question -what do other punters think? Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe it or not,but i am a Town fan who doesn`t totally hate Leeds! But £850,000 isn`t out of our reach-i think it`s because we don`t value him that highly. All the best(apart from 2 games)next season.

Report on another website that Rodolph Austin has signed a 3 year deal with LUFC. Nothing at the moment on SSN or the OS. The report does say that they are not too sure whether he has gained international clearance but implies that this is formality.

Peltier transfer taking a while because we are working on a deal for beckford also 1.5-2m for the pair.

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Agree that maybe the case but your valuation looks a little low, would suggest £750K for Peltier and £2.5M for Beckford would probably do the deal, although Beckford wahe demand would be excessive and above our norm, if we wasnt going to give it to Snodgrass as club captain Mr Beckford may well have to take a 60% pay cut.

Wayne Routledge

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Agree0 Disagree0

That be a very good signing for the championship he went up with newcastle QPR and swansea, alot of pace and can cross the ball

NW has already said that varney has replaced Snoddy.
