Brighton have secured the services of Leeds United striker Billy Paynter on loan until January.
Manager Gus Poyet has convinced Paynter to sign for his out-of-form side, beating off competition from other Championship clubs.

Ok we now have a situation where Grayson has lied to us, which I am seriously not happy about!

Will be posting a new thread

Agree0 Disagree0

This is totally stupid, we are helping our competitors here?

If Paynter helps Brighton score a single point in this league it is a direct conflict of interests!

Up to today I have supported Leeds for over 40 years and been behind Grayson 100% but this is totally ridiculous.

Why on earth would you publicly state this has to be right for the club and the player and then you loan him out to one of the teams who are fighting us for promotion?

Time for Grayson to go, now, and it's taken a lot for me to say that, he obviously hasn't thought this through?

We have enough to contend with, without giving the opposing teams a player to help them?

Leed4along time, but possibly not much longer, now. This is just sheer madness!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh for goodness sake! You clearly have not thought this through at all.

If Brighton take points off our rivals as a result of Billy playing well, you're trying to say that won't benefit Leeds

Get off Larry's back and support the team

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack, Keogh, Becchio,Forrsell, Snoddy, plenty of options, he never will get a game with these internationals in front of him, Becchio no international but far better. Get him out on loan makes perfect sense, could not give a jot what he does at Brighton, only interested in Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anybody thought of the fact he might actually loose them points not gain them!? He couldn't hit a barn door!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing i'm have problems accepting is that there was competition for him?!?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see Brighton as a threat and maybe he could do some damage to teams that are a threat. (Though I very much doubt it) And if by some strange chance he does start scoring freely we can take him back in January. Good Luck Billy is what I say.

Agree0 Disagree0

With a bit of luck Billy will start scoring again and take some points off our rivals for Brighton. If he comes back an improved player in January, thyen what is the harm in that?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry are you all high? Paytner is terrible

Paynter gone to Brighton on loan

Believable24 Unbelievable8

Thank god for that. At least we dont have to worry about them anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly we dont have to worry about conceding if he starts for them

Agree0 Disagree0

Ermm, dint he scores 4 goals past us a couple season ago with swindon?

He aint a bad player just going through a rough patch.

Loan move will do him the world of good, we may get a little fee for him too if he does well, as I dont expect he will come back if it works out at brighton.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we have a clause to stop him playing against us, he would probably get a hat trick knowing our luck

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the hell would we give ANY team in the championship a helping hand?

For the first time ever I am starting to doubt Grayson, especially after he clearly stated that Paynter would not be loaned out to anyone who could interfere with our aims?

Brighton are just THREE points behind us, and here we are giving them a player that might help them out??

I seriously hope that Brighton do not go up this year, or the points they score hinder us in any way?

I just cannot understand this loan, it does us no good whatsoever, and potentially helps one of our main rivals??

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy Paynter is a waste of space, but admittedly when he signed for us after putting a few goals past us on our own turf and in the away game, I thought he would be a good signing. Now what I have seen of him I have completely changed my mind and he is useless, he cant run, dont have good strength and some of his finishing is poor.

Leeds said to be very interested in Smithy on loan after toon say he can go out on loan. not really a new rumour as it's obviously been going round for 2 years or so now, but it seems a bit more likely now than ever before.

Believable19 Unbelievable24

Uncle Albert will not pay the portion of his salary that Newcastle want covered, Expect him to Join Aladyce at West Ham in reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Smithy will return in January now all concerned realize Smith will simply sit out the Barcodes season on 40 a week. Alright for some. They might as well let him out on loan and only pay 25 a week because lovely LUFC will pay the rest. If he does return, he will only be a bench player and it's only a ploy to try and boost the falling attendances at ER. Won't work though.

Agree0 Disagree0

No no no, please drop this. we don't want him back , thought this was dead. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Please god no! The last thing we need is an overpaid primma donna past his prime. How unsettling for our team!
Guys forget the past please

Agree0 Disagree0

Why pay any part of his wages for him to keep the bench warm because he certainly isn't good enough to start. If we need to go into the loan market (and personally I can't see the point in loanees unless there is a genuine need to cover for injuries) then get some quality from one of the bigger clubs, not a has been who isn't even being considered at an average team

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would we play him if we did get smith back. he doesnt score any goals so hes not a striker, we doesnt have pace to be right or left midfield. clayton is fantastic this season and grayson loves howson so center midfield is gone. hes only hope of starting is if he wants to play right back

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree,he would add nothing to the team or squad,we dont need him.

Newcastle are preparing to loan out Alan Smith. Leeds are said to be very interested in taking the ex Elland Road player on loan after failing to agree terms with Smith in the summer over a permanent move.

Believable14 Unbelievable21

Can wwe put a new record on please, this isn't going to happen and Smith would not get in the team, we have real players like McCormack, Keogh, Becchio, Clayton, etc that are class, compared to someone who can't get into a team?

Respect for Smith and what he did, but we have all moved on...

I'd rather have Eddie Gray on the pitch than Alan Smith...

Rumours going round that Grayson will leave
Leeds for Leicester.Hope not.Grayson doing a
good job at Leeds. He has more or less sort out
our defensive problems. Come January if he can
get Clingan and Lichaj in ,I can't see why Leeds
cannot get promoted. The defence is more stable
now only needs consistency and total focus. From
what i see the defence have improved especially
White making the LB position his now.If Simon
can bring in Clingan from Coventry, the midfield
will be very much stronger.Clingan is a tough
midfielder and with Lichaj also in as a cover for
Connoly or vice versa. Simon is doing a good job
at the moment for Leeds.Long may Simon stays.
MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable31

Clingan would be good but howson is our captain and clayton 1 of our better players this season. howson needs to play higher up the pitch to make room for clingan but that means dropping rossco or keogh and pushing becchio further down the pecking order? vayrynen looks decent but needs fitness... clingan i agree is a good player but at this moment in time were would he play? and who would be dropped? alan smith is the more obvious choice to spice things up among the fans that love/hate him... lol. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorted out our defensive problems? 2 cleans sheets and now are defence is a mean goal stopping machine? I dont think so mate

Agree0 Disagree0

SG has already ruled himself out of the vacant job at leicester, he stated that although leicester are a club near to his heart, leeds is closer to his heart than any other

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson will not leave leeds for Leicester. His heart is with leeds and has a good rap pour with the fans. It is becoming more likely that Lee Clarke will take the job, the worrying thing for Leicester is he is a league 1 manager at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

League one at best? well you should know you where down there long enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes league 1 at best, he wont get huddersfield out of that league. Look what happened in the play offs, unbeaten for a while then they lost 3-0 to Peterborough.
Also its nice how you have to come onto a leeds website and have a go, and i will just point out, Huddersfield can sing we all hate leeds scum all they want, you mean f**k all to us, enjoy league 1

Agree0 Disagree0

You're off your head if you think signing 2 decent Championship players would make it likely contenders for promotion, we're crap and lucky to be where we are in the league and that's where we'll stay until Bates leaves.
