If it is confirmed that we've signed this Hamburg lad, then I wouldn't be surprised if that's not our business done for this window. Rads did say all of burnleys £22m million they kindly gave Us for wood and Taylor would go back into the squad, but he didn't say this window. They seem sensible and maybe they'll keep the vast majority of the money for January and use it wisely on what is needed then.

Why not put some into the academy? I'd rather develop our own stars than overpay for average English players.

Pretty sure he's already putting money into the academy.

I think Cibicki will be the last piece of business. Lasogga will already cost us around £2million in wages so even though its a loan its not without cost. Cibicki for about 1.5mill, already paid £1.5 (eventually) for Grot and save the rest for another time. 3 players for less than the price of one.

I don't think there will be a single leeds fan that isn't now glad our striker has gone. What a cracking bit of business. 3 players and half of ER for him. It makes you laugh really.

Lassoga has joined on a season long loan according to some sources.

Ekuban rumoured to be out for a lengthy spell after having to have a foot operation so now we do need a new striker! And just for once it will an exciting transfer deadline for us Leeds fans! MOT

Really bad news - gutted.

Not used to all these positives since early 2000's. But can't help thinking if a club like Palace or West Ham or one of them sack their manager and have millions to spend to keep them safe from relegation, they will just look at the poor relations in the Championship and take who they want. because they can. I know TC is contracted but these Prem clubs have money to buy out contracts. Just being cautious as being kicked in the guts is how us Leeds fans live.

Octo I get where you're coming from, but for
Me TC is a different breed and so is Rads. I think they're both in it for the long haul and share the vision and dream.

Agree5 Disagree3

29 Aug 2017 17:51:03
Thing is, you can't just take TC, you have to take the whole backroom staff including Bravo and Orta. I don't see him leaving, he doesn't seem like the type to walk away and he was really keen to come here.

Agree4 Disagree1

29 Aug 2017 17:59:08
I'm with you on that one Curahee, Radz is to smart and TC seems very committed and like I said in a previous post he celebrates when we score so his heart is with us, for the first time in a long time we are building for the future and anyone who comes in Radz will make sure they buy into it. MOT

29 Aug 2017 18:02:43
Think you're right Octo, but am in agreement with Cura on this one. Reckon there will be all sorts of clauses in TC's contract too for loyalty, and like Cura says, I think we are onto something different with these guys.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 18:46:21
Despite his European pedigree, both playing and managing, TC was a bit of a punt (but, I guess all Championship managers are, to a degree - what with the nature of the league) so, I don't really see a solid Premier League team coming calling just yet. Potentially next season (provided we have a fairly good one) could see some top flight oppo come calling. That said, I do trust him and the board to make the right decisions.

29 Aug 2017 18:58:09
I think Palace would be more likely to get Colin or Fat Sam back.

29 Aug 2017 19:08:16
Apparently West Ham want Benitez and Newcastle would never go for TC. theyd go for someone they have to pay much more money to for poorer results than TC. So maybe even very terribles for them then! 😂

Newcastle willing to sell Dwight Gayle to get some cash to add new players ! He would certainly fit our style off play. Quick and knows where the net is. ⚽️⚽️👍😃

I am not keen on him either, but I think he would add to our goal tally.

29 Aug 2017 09:47:20
I don't like him either, but with suiz and alo behind him I think he'd be brilliant. Quick, skilful, makes intelligent runs which can be picked out. No brainier for me. It has to be him if we're are looking for an expensive signing.

29 Aug 2017 10:45:51
He's a knob but a talented knob, one of them players you hate when he's playing against you but love when it's for you.

29 Aug 2017 11:56:52
If he's so good, why do Newcastle want to sell?

Agree2 Disagree3

29 Aug 2017 12:09:19
Exactly SG, he only scored 22 goals last season, who wants that goal return in your team.

He is excellent at this level, but I'm still confident in my source that Ings will be a loan .

18mill for Gayle apparently. I think i'd keep the cash particularly as Gayle can be an injury worry.

29 Aug 2017 13:49:31
THought toon needed to sell! now surely £18m for a player who's great in the second division but can't get in their team in the top division is sort of pricing him out of all moves.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Aug 2017 14:29:58
That's my point Cura. You spend £18m on him, it's a huge gamble financially if you don't go up or if you do, you need to spend even more on a better striker and it becomes a waste of money.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 14:31:09
Newcastle spent £70m on Championship players, but now they can't afford PL players because of it and will struggle. You have to sign players who are good enough to get you up and play in PL. For £18m, Gayle is a rip off.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 14:31:59
How many goals did Gayle create for himself? If he's just finishing off team moves, then it's the creative players who got Newcastle up.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 14:50:56
Totally agree sg. if he's only good enough for the championship then clearly no prem team is going to go for him, therefore that leaves the championship teams. none of those can afford £18m for one player without going over FFP rules, so it's just a brainless bit of business from Newcastle. £10m perhaps up to £12m, but £18m is just crazy

Al the guy is involved with Liverpool u23 and he said they will look to put him out on loan for games . They don't want him as back up or bench warming so he said Leeds looked a good option as we had sold our main striker. He does not make the decisions and has no power as such but to mention as in particular seemed strange to me.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 17:20:36
yes but does it not show that Championship players will not always cut it, and clubs like them buy there way back to Prem with an excellent chanp squad . Taylor and Bryam left and are not getting real game time,3-4 games without scoring Wood will be the same . You either need a strong team who play for club and each other or need to buy very well.
