I wouldnt mind if we didnt make any more signings in this window (tho it would be better). Perhaps a season gettin the younger lads up to scratch in the championship such as nunez and clayton would be good. Make this a season for consolidation and build for a promotion push next season. I cant see any harm in that.

I see harm in that if wr dont go up this season we will lose all out top players like gradel snodgrass beccio and more we need to go up thisseason

Year-on-year improvement is necessary in any profession, skill or trade. Leeds United should be no different.

Aim should be play-offs at a minimum, but lack of money invested speaks louder of the club's ambition than any Yorkshire Radio propaganda.

Theres no point entering a conpetition if you dont want to win it, a decent left back and a loan striker to cover becchio and somma and we'll do well

Nunez isn't that young, hes about 27

We are clearly the biggest club in this division with support etc... i am sure we will average the highest attendance in this league as we do year on year.. so why do we have to consolidate, this baffles me with Leeds United - we allegedly have no debt so we must be an attractive investment for someone to take us in the premier league.. even KB should realize he will treble any investment overnight if he spends

No need to get overly excited with the talk of 2 midfielders coming to the club that KB is talking about.
One will be Sanchez Watt back on loan, the other deal wont happen as SG sees his squad as capable for the coming year.
He will most likely take up the option to sign Mendy and Bodor seeing as they are free transfers, but unless a serious injury were to occur in the squad, he'l still go for the cheapest options.
We should be sponsored by Asda....

I've never heard such rubbish in my life Aldi would be a much more suited spnsor :P

Personally I don't see the point in signing both Watt and Mendy as we have plenty of wingers already

I agee with what you say about Watt. Unless we lose Max or Snoddy he'll be lucky if he plays a handful of games. We need a defence and half a midfield. Bowyer & Johnson would have been ideal if we could have pulled it off. If SG is putting his faith in Paddy, OB & Bromby in defence I think we'll struggle. Paddy not proven at this level and God only knows if he will stay fit. We won't go down, but we'll be lucky if we make 6th.

Our squad this year looks better than last year. We have retained our best players from last season and improved on some of the weaker ones. Johnson is arguably the only loss. Would like to see a centre back and another centre mid, but I personally feel very positive about the changes we have made so far.

Agree with you mate apart from Kisnorbo replacing BROMBY. More like replacing Naylor. Dont forget Lees who I reckon should be given a go. Johnson is not a big loss at all. I expect Clayton or Nunez to step into his shoes and completely outshine what he had done .

I'm agreeing with that, only place I feel we really need to improve now is both full back positions, would like eric back, and maybe bodor (spelling?) will be a good left back Ben parker should be sold Unfortunately

I to hope Lees is given a chance. We've seen too many promising youngsters dissapear in recent years. Whatever happened to Scott Gardner, saw him play a couple of times and each time he looked excellent but was never given a real chance. Could have been the right back we've been searching for since Garry Kelly.

How is Lonergan better than Kasper Schmeichel?.... The other 2 yes, but so far we've sold good players (Schmeichel, Kilkenny, Johnson, Naylor, etc...) and bought old past it players in Rachbka, Lonergan (who was only 1 keeper who conceded more than Schmeichel did with our crappy defence infront of him & Brown who's knocking on too & didn't look too good at Portsmouth I worry for the season unless some quality is bought Come on Batesy & Grayson....lets buy quality Some Good free transfers up this year too So we don't always have to spend alot Even some good loans like Sanchez Watt was last year Sort out our crummy defence thank god Kisnorbo's back

Not seen new keepers much, have to trust SG, but did see Kasper in 30 odd games last season, and didn't rate him. Very flashy, great saves, but poor communication, positioning and decision making. A nightmare for defenders to play with.

I will support Leeds till I die but when players who claim to be Leeds supporters themselves make comments such as this it really shows the position to which we have fallen and our aspirations for the future.

Johnson said: "It was an easy decision. I had not played for a while and then the chance to come back under Sven."

This along with Bowyer (who I think would have been an excellent signing) going to Ipswich and Smith who has said he would rather sit out his contract (not bothered about him one way or the other but do think he would do better than Brown).

Brown played more games last season (when he didn't play for half the season cos of his contract) than Smith has done in the last three years And Johnson would be a luxury we neither need or can afford. I was only trying to get the point across with Johnson that when a 'Leeds fan' finds it an easy decision to choose another club it highlights the fact Leeds are not an attractive proposition. Ditto Smith with preferring to 'sit' on his arse.

People talk about money being an issue but when you consider these players earn in a year what most of us earn in a lifetime should a few thousand quid a week really be that much of an issue across the period of a loan deal? I for one would consider it a small price to pay to play for the team I support and it would hardly mean they would have to go without would it?

I don't think you can really describe £5k-£10k a week as peanuts which is I'm sure, even within KB's limited budget. On top of that there would no doubt still be a considerable percentage of their salary paid by their current club.

OK so they may have to take a cut in their salary but in MJ's case even at 50% (which I doubt in reality it would be as low as) he'd still be earning well over £1m a year.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at the players here, I'm just trying to point out how unattractive the option of playing for Leeds appears to come across.

One of my dads clients was staying at Granary wharf where the Newcastle team where staying around 3 weeks ago my dad believes when he was telling me. This is the Gods honest truth but his client and personal friend is an avid leeds fan and he managed to speak to smith for around 10 mins at the hotel. Smith said to him that he wont come back to Leeds because he says he can no longer cope with the expectation that he would have to live up to at elland road. Furthermore he says that he doesnt feel half the footballer he was and that he can barely use his left foot and doesnt want to let the team down, feeling that he would be more of a liability than an asset to the team. Whenever he spoke about Leeds he used the Words "We" and he is still very much passionate about the club. Im relaying this information onto you lot, i believe ive got all of the details and not forgot anything :s I just thought you lot deserved to know

The whole team will benifit from the experience of Brown in midfield. Clayton and Nunez have looked really good in pre season also. Mcfaddon would be a good signing but depends on his fitness as he has not played for a while. The two keepers look good better than the two we had last year and both have more experience at this level.

There seems to be a common view that Clayton can just step up but where is any evidence for this? I've not heard of one game for Leeds where he has really shone. Ok so Bradders got better offers and wouldn't sign but since he got booed for this you have to say the lad raised his game no end. No excuses - if we don't find another proper championship CM and CB then our squad is about good enough for 10th in what will be a difficult year.

Connolly is not good enough Where has he ever had any success? Maybe he looked good for Plymouth but that was a long time ago He was p*ss poor at Derby, they were glad to see the back of him. He was rubbish last year, always too far up the pitch and regularly getting skinned by average players. We need a right back who can defend first

Personally I think Connolly did ok last season, he didnt set the pitch alight but was steady enough. I wouldnt mind him being our starting right back. Other areas are by far more a priority

Always thought Connolly might end up at CB. When you look at Lihaj you see what a proper full back should be doing ie attacking with pace and a bit of skill

Leeds leaked far too many goals last year. Fullbacks too lacking in pace when they came up against even average attacking pace. They need to strengthen the back four and get a quality defensive midfielder. We have plenty of attacking quality, no worries there.

Leeds already have Brown (holding midfielder).

James Milner will return to Leeds within 48 hours ( can play midfield and up front, ring any bells). This will be a loan deal with Leeds paying 50% of his wages. The deal will be partly sponsored in a high profile joint deal with 'The Big Yellow Skip Company'.
