paynter is on trial with DONNY!

Believable26 Unbelievable5

Keep up at the back

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep.i heard he was found guilty!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that on trial with Donny, or on trial AT Donny after being charged with not being able to hit a barn door at 10 paces!

Agree0 Disagree0

I just found it dunny that after 2 and a half days Blackpool sent him on his way!

Leeds player in on Saturday will be rodolph Austin after he obtained a visa

Believable17 Unbelievable26

Yes NW says so on the official site

Agree0 Disagree0

It says on the OS that it will be a different signing to Austin as he is pretty much a done deal, i hope it is Peltier as that would complete are back line, wouldn't mind seeing George boyd or having alook at who NW will play as his core team

3 million from Snodgrass to be used to buy 3 players:
1. George Boyd Pboro 500k
2. Lee Peltier Leicester 750k
3. Craig Mackial Smith Brighton 1.75 mil

Martin Cranie will sign tomorrow along with Lee Peltier.

With Paynter, Nunez, Connolly and Rachubka all close to exiting the club. However we will only receive money from the Nunez deal others will be all allowed to leave on a free transfer.

Believable22 Unbelievable8

Cms has a 2.5 million butout clause so the only way leeds will get him is ross mccormack

Let's hope so mate. 3 great signings there to finish off the best squad we've had in a long time

CMS swap for rosco.
Pielter & beckford for 3mil (snoddys sale)
CMS and beckfor up front with Becchio just playing in behind....happy days.

The only rumour part here is that I am rumoured to like this for an attacking line up.

Fredh MOT. In Warnock we trust.

Agree1 Disagree0

That 2.5 million buy is only if a club come in and they don't want to sell but different if the club are willing to sell. I guess it would be up to them how much they want. I might be wrong but i'm sure it's that.

Agree0 Disagree0

We only got 1.5mil upfront for Snoddy so how can we spend the other 1.5 before we've got it?

Agree0 Disagree1

Becchio playing off a front 2? Are u mad? Becchio up top with CMS with a quality number 10 in behind the front two would do me lovely

Rossco to stay at Leeds hes in new talk with utd.hes looking for an improved offer. In tonights YEP.

Believable25 Unbelievable5

C M S having medical and also nick Montgomery, Quinn and maguire from sheff utd !!

Agree0 Disagree2

Nobody having a medical, just another made up story.

Agree1 Disagree0

Division 1 players ? Come on NWturn it in will ya

Agree0 Disagree0

Best signing out of these would be resigning McCormack then Mackail-Smith, the Stephen Quinn, then Montgomery & then Maguire.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross is only interested in himself. Now Snoddy has gone Ross is looking to stay: more free kicks, possible penalty taker blah blah. Remember why you turned the contract down Ross. And b*gger off.

Agree0 Disagree0

I say keep him, as him cms will put fear into all these teams this season. Then Becchio and Somma waitting in the wings to mop up. We really do look strong this season.
SGT WARNOCKS BARMY ARMY!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go if he wants to, he is over rated

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard McCormack's interview before the norway game...he sounded like an arrogant tw3t to be honest. Remeber Warnock said at the end of the season that he didnt see him being a regular...I suspect he may have an attitude problem so, good player that he is, I wouldnt be sorry to lose him

Ramblin Jack

Agree0 Disagree0

We want Mccormack to stay, we also need to sign cms boyd or temletonn and defo peltier and then i think we have a good shout for promotion ( and crainie would be a good signing if we dont get another cb imo) sharky lufc

Greitar Steinsson on trial

Believable29 Unbelievable18

Dont think he is, but this would be a good addition if he was available.

Agree0 Disagree0

If only! Would be a great signing for us!

Agree1 Disagree0

Not one i've heard so far but i hope its true. Bolton let a few good players go on frees last season and i've been suprised we haven't been linked with any of them (poss many of them will hold out for prem offers till the last minute then join championship clubs i guess). Steinsson would be a top RB at champ level and would do a job if we went up too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tough tackling, solid player, bit of quality. Can get forward as well and nab a goal. Still only 30 as well. seems too good to be true. Probably is.

Agree0 Disagree0

True, he is on trial

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here - good source who is usually accurate passed me this. Free agent who wont cost a fee unlike the inferior Peltier (750K wanted by Leicester) so wages can be boosted by signing on fee. Keen to join apparently, great crosser of ball and NW is an admirer of him. Fingers crossed ladies!

Agree0 Disagree0

"Nice try kid" - ha, ha, ha! 47 year old lifelong fan FYI. Back to your pie and chips and depressingly familiar posts. You believe what you want, don't need your approval. This guy would be the solid RB we need, as Lees ain't no fullback yet.

CMS: 1.5 million
Peltier/RB:800,000

Believable25 Unbelievable13

Ive heard today that Beckford has been seen at Leeds training ground. source (UPS Driver)

How good is boyd, dont really know alot about him, thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is the source for this boyd deal? i have heard nothing about him coming to us from any official sources?

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes you think that Ed?

Sy BsE. Leeds {Ed013's Note - I will probably be way off! Phil Hay says judging by Neil's reaction it won't be a striker. Unless its a RB, which Peltier seems to have gone away ,then I am having a Mystic Meg moment and will probably be way off!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, regarding how goood is boyd, well he is definately a good player, easily just as goood as snodgrass, the only down point about him is that he isnt really much as a team player, but im sure if he came to us warnock would drill that into him, he is quick, skillfull and has a hell of a shot on him. if the rumour of '750k + nunez for boyd' is still around, i think that would be a great deal for leeds

thanks matty mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure about Boyd. The thing that struck me when Pboro played at ER was how weedy he was. Stick thin legs. Likes taking the free kicks and trying to pick a pass, but no real endeavour. Don't think he is a NW type of player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really rate Boyd at this level-all those workhorses in our new centre mid should give him the chance to display his skill and creativity (something we'll be needing when things get tight). Chapel A

Leeds close on Mackail-Smith! Not sure what to think about this, he had a good start last season but faded away...
Source: SSN

Believable21 Unbelievable5

I'm a Brighton fan and you would be getting a real good guy in CMS. Works his socks off and if played in the right system, will score bucket loads. he just fit with the way we play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Will be good buy. You need 2 players for every position. That's Becchio covered. We will keep Ross and when Somma comes back we got cover there. Since Boyd can also play as striker think he is next to lighten blow of losing Snod. However don't mind seeing Maynard arrive either.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer Beckford for goal scoring ability but CMS does work extremely hard and I think that makes him a Warnock type of player

Agree0 Disagree0

2 seasons in championship and both were poor goals to games ratio!! we need beckford.....we now have enough workers in the team so now it should be about quality and Becks fits that description for me
Lee
M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

CMS very much like Mackie at QPR - the type of player NW loves. Agree would be great competition for Becchio (similar playing style), especially as Becchio is usually made to play when not on form/fit/carrying an injury. Not sure we can afford CMS though, as Snoddy's transfer fee is either 1, gobbled up by Bates' pension fund; 2, going to pay for none-footie players fees beloved of our Ken :)

Agree0 Disagree0

If CMS signs then he would be a great catch for the club; would be a great partnership with McCormack and if Boyd comes in as well we would surely have a team capable of challenging for promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a great player faded because he was kind of expected to carry brighton with leeds they will expect goals but he wont be the only goalscorer and he will get rests because becchio and mccormack if he stays will both get games great work ethic, good technically and if managed properly can score 15+

Agree0 Disagree0

Played last night for the Foxes, very much in the managers plans!

Agree0 Disagree0

Best news of the day ... perhaps that will put an end to the continuous calls for him to come back ... long may he continue his selfish, greedy ways away from ER. His return would signal a divided dressing room and his presence (ego) disruptive.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he played for a Leicester reserve side against york city and is not part of his plans for future
My cousin is season ticket holder there and reckons its common knowledge Pearson wants rid due to attitude problems

Him playing in a game doesn't really mean hes in there plans but it just means hes not expected to leave just yet so they need to make sure hes fit in case hes needed for season.

He'll probably want to come back when we go up

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats funny as his agent has said he is leicester's #1 striker to the media and he wont be leaving haha..

Agree0 Disagree0

BECKFORDS such a joker. He honestly thinks we would take him back and keep him on £40k ! He didnt really deliver anything more than the £15k he was on with us and he certainly couldnt play at prem level. Had your time my son. Its like jumping back into bed with an old girlfriend.... Nice memories....but it wasnt all that good

Agree0 Disagree0

If you can afford his wages which i doubt, i think he would already be at Leeds by now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow
Beckfords agent is awesome
Not only does he say he is his clubs best striker he also has him a pay rise from £20000-£40000 in the last few posts
Billy paynter should give him a call he should be able to get him a job at my local newsagent as top paperboy
Russjon

Agree0 Disagree0

Being able to afford the wages or not isn't the point. NW will have a valuation of his worth regarding weekly wage and if Beckfords demands are above that we won't have him. Plenty more out there, in Neil we trust

Sky sports article today titled: ''Leeds close on Mackail-Smith''

Media understands Leeds are closing in on a deal for Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith.

The two clubs are locked in talks as they try to thrash out a deal for the Scotland international.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock has made Mackail-Smith his top target as he looks to bolster his attacking options at Elland Road.

A possible swap deal with Ross McCormack going to Brighton has been mooted, but it is believed a number of other clubs are chasing the former Cardiff man.

Brighton are thought to be willing to offload Mackail-Smith despite paying a club record £2.5million to sign the player from Peterborough last summer.

Mackail-Smith scored 10 goals for the Seagulls last term, but Gus Poyet is ready to sell him to bring in a new target man.

Brighton are thought to be waiting to bring in a replacement before sanctioning the sale of Mackail-Smith.

Believable17 Unbelievable3

Ross McCormack scores more goals than CMS, that's why Poyet wants him, I am not sure it would be a good swap

I'm hearing that although a deal with Leicester has now been agreed for Peltier, there's some stalling on his wages. Leicester have supposedly got him on silly money and he's not at all keen to take a pay cut. I think he may now stay and challenge for his place - not a big problem for us I don't think, no point blowing all your wage budget in a RB.

Believable33 Unbelievable7

There is when it's Tom Lees... Only united player to conceed an own goal last season, tripped up on himself three times, two of which cost goals, and whenever he comes further forward panics and lacks vision on who's open. Seriously concerned that he's still playing starting XI.

Agree0 Disagree0

To right, the lad is not world class and didn't set the world alite last season. So let him stay at leicster and hope to play football.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

If you'd paid any attention to our defence last season, you'd know that Lees was the only glimmer of hope there. I can't blame him for making a few mistakes when he's the only one of the back four who's actually defending.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's always Lichaj to go for instead.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees did make a few mistakes last season but he was still without doubt the best defender of the season!

Agree0 Disagree0

He may be lazy but at the moment it would seem theres not a player out there who wants to play for us more than he does right now!

And to me that counts for a lot

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds fans need to get real about Beckford.

He brings nothing to the team except goals, which have been in short supply for him for 2 seasons. This is because he relies 100% on his now declining pace.

Love him to bits, but not up to producing the goods in the Championship. Also he's now 28, going on 29, so will only get slower and less effective.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have tabled a bid of £2.2 million to bring Craig Mackail-Smith to Elland Road. He hasn't been involved in Brighton's pre-season and he is said to be 'One of Warnock's top targets.' Also Leeds are interested in reuniting Mackail-Smith and George Boyd as scouts have been assessing transfer listed Boyd throughout pre-season. Lastly earlier this week Leeds made a bid for Leicester right back Lee Peltier. Deal taking longer than it should. ConnorMOT!

Believable24 Unbelievable23

Swap deal with Ross McCormack going to Brighton but a number of other clubs are chasing Ross.

Brighton are thought to be willing to offload Mackail-Smith despite paying a club record £2.5million Mackail-Smith scored 10 goals last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Mackail- Smith has failed to find any form in the Championship, when he dropped back to League 1 he cored goals again, only for him to be poor again when returning to the C/ship. I cannot believe we are bidding for him to allow Brighton to bring in a better target man/striker (Sky quote)! Lets hope it is not another case of bringing in someone because they can score against us like Paynter! JH

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is a good signing, but big money for someone who didnt score loads last season, plus if it means losin ross as well i dont see the point. We need to add to current team not be replacing them. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Your having a laugh beckford worth around 2.2 million, more like 1-1.5 million. I would be happy with 2 million for the pair no more.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

They would both need to take massive pay cuts so it seems unlikely

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm the poster off this and as much as I'd like beckford to come back , I still rather have a fresh face in beckfords our past maybe we should just move on
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

If Leicester can't afford to pay him they should off load him on a free cos we certainly couldn't afford 3 million and his wages and tbh I don't think he can justify his earnings.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Does it matter that they both played for Leicester last night? Snodgrass played for some of our pre-season and now he's gone. McCormack has been playing & there's still plenty of speculation surrounding him. Just because someone plays a part in his current club's pre-season doesn't mean they won't be moving on during the transfer window. They're not exactly going to leave them at home 'just in case someone bids for them!' - JamesC

Agree0 Disagree0

I read that JB is on between £25k and £40k per week. I am sure that is a lot more than we would pay him or indeed a lot more than he is worth. Will he take a big drop in wages with 3 years left on his contract, I doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes point taken about them playing for Leicester last night but can we afford their big wage demands?
