Hope montgomery doesnt come to leeds as reported. knocked us back last year in favour of money as apposed to playing for his childhood club.
he doesn't deserve the white shirt.
press believable if you dont want him either and unbelievable if u want him

Believable19 Unbelievable22

It wasnt the money that was the problem. He didnt want league 1 football.... But he now seems to have no choice unless he leaves the blunts. And dont let pride put u off. Hes exactly the player leeds have not had and need MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

People like you make me laugh stick to footballing reasons, like to see what you d do in the same possition money home town club and were not talkin a few quid were talkin thousands muppit

Agree0 Disagree0

It was all to do with money not the league as we had just been promoted to championship plus we tried in January too and he said no. He is greedy and now shef have gone down he is lookin for an escape to any club that comes in for him. Belive what you won't guys but I agree with the guy who posted this about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he was just being loyal to the team he has played for all his career

Agree0 Disagree0

I know him personally and he turned us doen last season because we wouldn't pay enough. Now he has no choice - he is hoping to go to QPR really but chances slim as he's def not prem standard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally dont think he is the answer anyway we need energy in the centre why not give Clayton a chance hes young full of energy and will be wanting to prove he is good enough not like Montgomery who is coming to the twilight of his career.Remember all the young players in squad under o leary they did us proud

Agree0 Disagree0

If Clayton was better then Kilkenny or Johnson then he would of played last season

Agree0 Disagree0

I know Nick very well.

Leeds offered him 2k a week and he was on ten.
They also offered him captaincy. 100% truth spoke to him the other day, no contact from Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Dundee manager said that goodwillie would be better of at a English club In the championship it was on sky sports news earlier I think sg should consider this and make a move

Believable9 Unbelievable13

Would cost around £2 million so not gonna happen, on his way to Rangers or Cardiff

Agree0 Disagree0

That's if he manages to escape a jail sentence

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 17:04:40
Does anyone think david goodwillie, from dundee would be a good signing? got good potential and dont think he would be that expensive would he? {Ed015's Note - heard he was in talks with rangers}

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Dundee want 2 mill for him. Their manager, Houston I think, wants him to move to England rather than Rangers. Cardiff have already bid for him or are willing to pay the money. He is a striker though but he is only 22. Do we really need any more strikers? I'll be happy to see a LB, some CM's and a couple of CB's. MOT In Grayson we trust {Ed007's Note - He has a lot of legal problems at the moment as well, a move down south would suit him better than a move to the goldfish bowl of Glasgow}

Agree0 Disagree0

Either Goodwillie follows trouble or trouble follows him. We don't need another Bowyer/Woodgate/Duberry debacle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Dundee United have had bids in excess of £1mn and were after £2mn. Player has his heart on playing for Glasgow Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely not.

1. We don't need another striker.

2. Too expensive.

3. Has just been charged with repeatedly kicking a man in the head and body in Glasgow city centre after already having been charged with rape.

So no, thank you.

LEEDS UNITED SQUAD

--------------------Smithes-------

Connolly---Woodgate---Kisnorbo---Lichji

Snoddy---Smith---Howson---Gradel

McCormack---Becchio

Subs: Rachuka, Parker, Bruce, Montongery, Sam, Paynter, Somma

Believable18 Unbelievable14

What does the ed think? not sure we'd get all those players and unsure that gradels staying {Ed015's Note - Lichji enjoyed his time at leeds, not sure if we could get him permanent, woodgate and smithies would depend on wage and transfer fee, and im not sure if Montongery has the passion }

Agree0 Disagree0

Not bad but i think we need and will hopefully get Bowyer in there too Fingers crossed...well liked at Leeds in my days :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree lad, not too many signings, good squad tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

Connolly to slow as well apart from that we can only hope, think snoddy will go as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy won't go unless someone comes up with 8 million..waste of time talking about him..he's staying cos no one will pay that for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Kisnorbo has been released according to football mirror

Agree0 Disagree0

This team looks pretty good apart from missing nunez

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully billy 'cant hit a barn do with a banjo' paynter is long gone but other than that not a bad squad, ive been begging for Luciano and McCormack to play up top together, shouldve done it all season

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bruce should be given another chance if he had Paddy alongside him talking him through games then hes got the ability.Main problem last season was we had no leader or organiser to sort things Paddy would do this job give him the armband and let Johnny just get on with playing.Wholesale changes arent needed just fine tuning and we will be challenging come end of season

owen hargreaves to sign for Leeds united on a play as you play contract with bonuses included upon success

Believable12 Unbelievable24

Bates got us out of the sh*t we were in, but enuff is enuff. Time to also go Grayson, Paytner last yr, what were you thinking about....Somma is the man. We need a strong mid and a complete new back 4, and as for the Schmicheal, I will never understand that..To all Leeds fans, last yr, we were one of the highest earning clubs..remember, our debts have gone, so whats the prob I would even go as far as to say, bring back O'Leary into football and lets get our youngsters playing again..

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen hargreaves he's more injury prone than johnny woodgate and as for being out of debt that's fair enough but it doesn't mean we have to go mad and put us back into debt.

Lloyd Sam's Twitter - No signings yet i expect some next week

Believable21 Unbelievable5

Yes, Simon Grayson is expecting incoming deals next week, 2 apparantly.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 16:04:55
Well a wish list would be:

Alex Smithies - Huddersfield - £1mil
Eric Lichaj - (loan)
Reo-Coker - (free)
Jamie Vardy - FC Halifax Town - £75k

team would be:

Smithies
Lichaj O'brien Kisnorbo Parker
Snodgrass Reo-Coker Howson Gradel
McCormack Becchio

subs: Rachubka, Bessone, Sam, Vardy, Clayton, White, Gimpel

Just a shout No evidence {Ed015's Note - vardy from halifax isnt a bad player, seen him play myself and he was at a blue sox rugby league game a few weeks ago, seemed like a decent guy}

Believable9 Unbelievable8

We will concede anther 70 goals nxt yr if we had that defence, grayson said he lookn at 4 r 5 people 2 buy 2 tighten up the defence..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 14:09:52
Im not sure if this is a true rumour but i have heard that we are in talks with Tamir Cohen and Michael Johnson, Cohen is a free agent after his release from Bolton and i think he would be a good player for us. Johnson would also be a good player for us but his wage demands could block the deal. {Ed015's Note - Johnson would be on loan and wages wouldnt be a problem as he said last season he wants to play for leeds}

Believable15 Unbelievable1

I don't want Johnson... Too injury prone... 30 odd games since 2006... No ta.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Tamir Cohen rumour is probably from me. I never said anything about Leeds being in talks with him, I merely pointed out the fact he was a free agent and we should look into signing him. A few days after I noticed it had spread and he was now on the verge of signing

I'd love it to be true, I just really don't think it is... Unless SG has been reading my recommendations (and if he has, expect Cannavaro any time soon seen as he's available for free now)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 13:01:31
Signing for next season:

GK: Alex Smithies/Fraser Forster
RB: Eric Lichaj (using Schmeichel money)
LB: Wayne Bridge (loan)
CB: Jonathan Woodgate
CM: 2 from: Alan Smith/Michael Johnson/David Jones/ Nick Montogomery
ST: Carlos Vela (loan - if Paynter leaves)

Believable12 Unbelievable21

Bridge is on £90K a week. Why would Citeh want to subsidise anyone to that extent and why would Bridge want to play in the Chammpionship when he can quite clearly handle the level above. He ain't from Leeds and doesn't support them, unlike Bellamy and his sheep 'love in'.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's happening with Alan Smith? It appears Grayson is still sort of interested but what about Smith/Newcastle?
Cheers, I appreciate more than a few Ehites are fed up of it

www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/snodgrass_and_gradel_staying_put_says_grayson_1_3536994

Agree0 Disagree0

Bridge is likely to go to the Toon according to reports, and Vela is being chased by some prem and spl teams who can offer CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from Vela and Bridge, this has been the most accurate and realistic list of targets I've seen so far on the site

Agree0 Disagree0

As an older Leeds fan Im fed up with all this speculation. Where is the loyalty and love for the club? Gone are the days when you could name your starting eleven from back to front, plus your subs Premodonas the lot of them now a days

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 12:42:30
ed i think a few people on here should stick to playing manager games on there PC because they talk absolute tosh, to say they'd get rid of becchio for 3mil is a joke it would cost us a damed site more to replace a player of his quality and money we haven't got MOT {Ed015's Note - i think everyone should be really kind and give me a easy day as im ill :( }

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Should nt drink on a school night lol but joking aside 3mil for becchio? {Ed015's Note - school night? im 20.... and he wont be sold}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, hope you not too bad... is it because you've been holding your breadth waiting for the rush of new signings to flood through door ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 12:36:24
leeds to sign delph (loan)
c.kirkland (2 year deal)
woodgate (2 year deal)
bowyer (1 year deal)
b.sharp from doncaster (3m)

Believable6 Unbelievable27

Why a striker. And sharp turned us down last year he is only a small team player

Woodgate would be on a pay as you play deal not a contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think delph will be going on loan anytime soon, with a new manager coming in you would think he would want to have a good look at his squad before he decides what players will be going on loan. So if he is going somewhere I would think it would be nearer to the end of the transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think bates would even stretch to paying £3m even if it meant getting messi

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 12:30:44
Changed my mind about Alan Smith, lets give him a chance what do you think ED. {Ed015's Note - i have voiced my opinion on this subject many times, please read past posts}

Believable7 Unbelievable11

It'll be the same poster it always is, its just a way to keep repeating his name over and over so he remain relevant, when he isn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 12:27:57
Leicester hope they go down trying to bat above their weight, that Sven is an idiot.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I can seriously see them crashing and burning. Remember, last season their defence was just as bad if not worse than ours. Splashing the cash and signing every player under the sun is not a grantee of success. Don't rate Sven at all as well. Clueless at best.

I was talking to our local pizza delivery lad who is from Dubai.

He says one of his relatives is interested in buying Leeds United.

MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable29

If one of his relatives had the money to buy Leeds United, why would he be delivering pizzas? Moron.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha this site just gets better What a load of bull

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds are actually really popular out in the Emirates, due in no small part to Don and Elsie Revie conduct when the Don was the UAE manger.

There have been many rumours coming out of Dubai about various Sheikh play cash being thrust in Leeds Boards face for some time. None have come to fruition so far, but you never know.

Pizza delivery boy is not from a rich family though, that is taking slumming it a bit far.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm interested in buying Leeds too. Doesn't mean I have the money though

Agree0 Disagree0

Christ, how long did it take him to deliver the pizza

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i take lots of arab students in as lodgers every year and so far none have ever heard of leeds, most are city or barca fans however i try to convert them but so far none have come forward with billionaire buyers yet, mind you next time the polish pizza boy delivers from dominos i will ask him if his uncle is interested lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Serious sense of humour loss here, dontcha think

Agree0 Disagree0

Had his uncle loads of dough?
Whitebait pizza maybe?
Umm I don't think I am taking this post seriously enough for some strange reason

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol hes a pizza delivery guy and his family is filthy rich......didnt think that one through did you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pizzas is all that will be exchanged for our once mighty LUFC. I say that the Club should be owned by the Fans. Like Barcelona and Real Mardird.
I think all this rubbish of rich Arabs.
spending their money of a loss making venture- honestly the only winners are the Players. and Not the Club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would let becchio go rather than snoddy and gradel. McCormack with Nunez or Somma will still score goals. But hold out for at least 5mill. Old Becchio will never do it in prem to slow

Believable16 Unbelievable9

If we tried to squeeze about 4-5 mill out that'd make good business sense tbh. we could easily bring someone in for 1/3 that price and still have money left over to fund other things (wages for the free agents). whats gone on with matthew upson? any ideas? would be a good signing for the backline

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree becchio will score goals doesnt need pace he s a hard worker never stops we should sell snoddy 1 trick pony only gets 20% of his crosses over, hardly ever gets corners past the first man, ever now and then he looks good when he goes on a mazey run but thats once a flood and usually runs the ball out of play because he s ball greedy and doesnt release the ball 5mil would be day light robbery please some body buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we're in a position to say no to any offer in the region of 5mil, no matter what player. Hopefully we won't receive such a bid for Becchio. :(

Agree0 Disagree0

"McCormack with Nunez or Somma" your kidding right who's gonna hold up the ball we would get hammered every game

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that slow like alan shearer or jimmy flloyd and becchio isnt that slow and i cant name a prem player that can hold that ball up like him

Agree0 Disagree0

The biggest pile of tosh ive ever heard....becchio could do it anywere in any league u muppet

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio scores goals for Leeds -that's it
Paynter scores for Swindon- that's it
Better the devil you know- we could buy an expensive flop instead of a free flop

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Becchio??? What planet are you on? 123 apps = 49 goals? Not a bad return really....

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 11:41:52
I reckon if im honest although im sweatin it out like the rest of the leeds fans that SG has an ace up his sleeve who's to say the home grown talent we have in the youth's wont exceed expectation i mean if barca have been watchin the youth's e.g takin elliot kebbie off us that we dont have players as good as if not better i hear we also have scouts in south america from an earlier post which i do believe where we might get another becchio or a reberto carlos like full back lol (never know) i'd say just keep the faith folks MOT

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Kebbie wasn't taken off of us, his mother moved to Spain and he went on trial with Barcelona... they liked what they saw, but then so did Man Utd last year...

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I heard Barca were distinctly unimpressed with what they saw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite honestly you really think Bates will send people on holiday to South America?? or anywhere else outside the North East??

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 11:39:24
Take over from asian moneymen doing the rounds this morning. various sources. could be something in this

Believable14 Unbelievable13

I doubt bates would sell the club seeing as he has only just bought it. {Ed015's Note - Bates will sell leeds when he retires, ha has already stated leeds would be his last job in football}

Agree0 Disagree0

I kind of hope it is true, as long as it's not a dodgy bloke like that fella at Birmingham. Get us a rich Yank or Saudi, get Bates out and get some players in...

Agree0 Disagree0

What sources? I've had a look around the internet and can't find anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes obviousley delivering pizzas while acting as an undercover agent he he

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol people arent happy with the lack of transfers and takeover talk comes out in full force, predictable really.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 10:46:33
3 million pound for someone who can't kick a ball? I'll pack his bags for him, somma and mcormack will bags goals next year I say let him go, and I'm a big becchio fan.... {Ed015's Note - not much of a fan then}

Believable3 Unbelievable19

I am, his work rate and effort is incomparable, he's just so poor technically, I really think mcormack with come alive next year and the money will help get in players that we really need like a keeper or some decent fullbacks

Agree0 Disagree0

You are clearly mad becchio works hard and was top scorer last season he needs to stay

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckio works his socks off for the team. Holds the ball up well. But does lack pace think he would be a great foil for Somma who shows signs of being top class

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep becchio quality player top goalscorer and I'm a Swansea fan I don't want him as I want us to buy players from the prem but you should keep him he puts in 110% in every game iv seen him play

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio scored some really class goals and to say he has no ability is tosh and you obviously dont go week in week out works hard holds the ball up well and fantastic in the air scored a class goal at borough last season, and when he was injured end of last season we struggled

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who says he has no technical ability clearly didn't see either Middlesbrough game.

Agree0 Disagree0

He scored one classy goal, doesn't make him gifted, yeah he is fantastic in the air I'm not saying he's a bad foward I'm just saying 3 mil is a lot of money when we already have great players going forward like snoddy gradal mcormack ect

Agree0 Disagree0

I go week in week out and although Becchio scored quite a few goals he probably missed more than he scored and a better finisher would have scored 30 plus goals from the chances he had. He does work very hard but unfortunately that is not enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly ed u seriously have no clue if u want rid of our only decent striker and why is everyone sayin mak is gunna score sh*t lowds? how can u possibly tell?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 10:00:55
Dougie Freedman is talking to Patrick Kisnorbo after being let go by Leeds.

Believable5 Unbelievable33

Not been let go, has been offered a short term contract to prove his fitness with the guarantee of a new contract if he does prove his fitness. Palace are offering him a straight deal, so Paddy may go for the security, would prefer if he showed a bit of loyalty to the club that nursed him back from a serious injury, but footballers now-a-days don't know what loyalty is

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter rubbish the only way Paddy will go is if we tell him he's no good any more. fool.

Agree0 Disagree0

F*** me utter person here...
hes signed a 1yr extension..... {Ed015's Note - no he has not}

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 09:53:43
Swansea linked with a £3 million swoop for Luciano Becchio, really hope its just speculation

Believable4 Unbelievable25

We wont let him go for under 5 million, he is our top striker atm

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 09:36:01
Swansea after £3 million rated Becchio Please stay beccs :) Don't know if this has been posted yet (I haven't seen it so sorry if it has) MOT

Source: daily mail website

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Well double that and add another million and they might be getting somewhere near, otherwise they can sod off

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 09:13:10
Best we can hope for:

Kirkland

Lichaj Paddy Woodgate White/Parker

Bowyer Delph (loan)

Snodgrass Howson (CAPTAIN) Gradel

Becchio

Subs: rachukba (or watever his name is), Somma, McCormack, Clayton, Sam, O'Brien, White/Parker

NOT BAD SIDE + COULD MAKE PLAY-OFFS HOWEVER IF THIS IS BEST WE CAN HOPE FR AT A BIG CLUB LIKE LEEDS IT IS LOOKING GRIM IT IS NOT GRAYSON'S FAULT HE HAS NOT GOT A BIG BUDGET, THAT IS PROBABLY WHY HE HAD TO LET GO OF KASPER, TO GIVE HIMSELF A BUDGET TO WORK WITH. SURELY HE IS NOT AS STUPID AS HE IS MAKING OUT QUOTING THAT IT WAS KASPERS FAULT OF CONCEDING 70 LAST YEAR

Believable8 Unbelievable17

Take injury prone Kirkland out and put a different keeper in and would be good team. Kirkland back is always giving way

Agree0 Disagree0

Kirkland, woodgate, Smith, I like them but they woudn't play more then 15 games between them - prone to injury??

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 09:12:37
BECHIO: Subject to £3m interest from Swansea as reported in Mail. Probably good business if we could swing it to £4m. Love him but.... has he got 2 more seasons ? DARREN PRATLEY: Subject of potential interest has signed for Bolton.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

If McCormack improves the way he did last season I don't think we even need becchio

Agree0 Disagree0

Whata load of rubbish 2 seasons and 4 mill good buisness...he has more than 2 seasons left in him and he wont be sold...now get real

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you kidding me - he's 27 and scored 20 in 44 last season...we should NEVER sell him

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on lads let becchio go no chance he is the heart and soul of that side and SG knows it. we need someone to play off him yes maybe mcCormack could do that but lets make some signings to strengthen the team and get behind the boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 08:59:57
Fab Delph could be back at leeds on loan from villa shorly after not making an impact needing a change in form. He will also be guarenteed 1st team football at leeds with really only 1 quality CM left, still unsure about Clayton and Nunez (shown potential).

source: various villa fans saying Depph is on way out on loan + me putting 2 and 2 together, i think its 4

Believable9 Unbelievable12

I would be shocked at this, I live in brum and have never heard this rumor, plus he just digned a new contract last season, so it shows he did something right towards the end

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 08:11:08
Eidur on a free would be a banging signing... perfect striker to get us back to the Prem {Ed002's Note - Sadly rather slow now - and probably only good for a midfield role.}

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Yeah gudjohnsen 'only' being good for a role in midfield is a real problem as we're over flowing with midfielders at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 08:14:56
Sven-Goran Eriksson wants England old boy Jonathan Woodgate to join him at Leicester. (Daily Star) Mega Bucks Leicester strikes again

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Im a massive fan of woodgate but lets be fair he is crocked let leicester waste there money on him he will never be on the pitch.killgallon would be a better signing for us with smithy in centre mid.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2011 08:00:43
morning ed, as a leeds fan and loyal one for over 20 years i have to say even though im as disapointed as the rest of our faithful at the lack of information coming out of elland road about transfers, or lack of signings so far, BUT... i cant help feeling its a bit like groundhog day... every pre season since our days in the premiership we have done our transfer dealings on the quiet, and have been pleasently suprised with the majority of them with the exception of bessone and maybe the attitude of grella refusing to go on loan at times, so maybe sg has got a few suprises up his sleeve, like the kasper signing last season, andy o'b, i understand we have high expectations because of who we are and our recent promotion and only just missing out last season, but we have to wait until we have our squad in place ready for the season, get behind the lads who want to wear the white shirt with the pride it deserves and give the lads our support as we ALWAYS DO IN OUR NUMBERS and get us over that line to the premiership again. leeds4life

Believable18 Unbelievable1

This is not a rumour? get on the right page you moron {Ed015's Note - my fault, hungover still}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol i bet you read all of this then realized it's not a rumour {Ed015's Note - tbh i scanned it for swearing , racism etc then that was it, crnt change what page it should be on now }

02 Jul 2011 08:00:26
montgomery defo wants leeds and has done since LAST season.Got it straight from him july last year.

Believable17 Unbelievable6

If this is true y reject us last summer and in January and if it was down to wages he not fit to were are shirt he should come couse he wonts to not for the cash so he can put his bank balance up and leave like rest of the pre madonnas we had

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, why he turned us down last summer when on a free, as his club were desperate to keep him. funny how his attitude changes when he is in League 1 and his club want him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't he knock us back last year due to money??? Now he's in league one he wants us badly...hhhhmmmm

Agree0 Disagree0

It's amazing how many players change there mind when there team gets relegated well monty should stay were he is he didant wona come last time y now

Agree0 Disagree0
