BmcD in for Bannan! Has to offload first tho. Enquiry received for Norris but it's a league one club so he is reluctant to go.
Good source. Also cb in on loan but don't know who.

Believable15 Unbelievable53

Banyan is a good player in a football-playing side but can't see us signing him when CM isn't a priority position, think I'd rather have a winger, striker, centre back or keeper before another CM!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bournemouth are in the same div as us

Agree2 Disagree1

He is a winger not a CM

Agree1 Disagree3

Didn't look that good when he was on loan with us previously.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hope not rubbish last time he was here

Agree2 Disagree0

Bannan has been told he can find another club but not sure if he will drop a division and take a decent drop in wages aswell?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt it. He offered very little last time he was here. Yet another pointless post that seems to happen every time a former player gets transfer listed.
I could post that we're in for Danny Hay but everyone would know I was making it up just like everyone knows you are, too.

Agree2 Disagree0

Bannan is primarily a central midfielder and a bit-part winger (we have loads of those already, ie: Green, Tonge etc) he is the very last thing we need right now.

Berty

Agree1 Disagree0

His will probably happen cause bannans contract talk wi villa as fallen down

Agree0 Disagree0

Bannan was dreadful last season, hardly better than Green or Tonge and will want higher wages

Agree1 Disagree0

Bannan is 100% a CM

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be kind of hard for messi to look good of he doesn't get a chance!
Would be a good signing but need to strengthen other areas first.

Agree0 Disagree1

Could happen as Blackburn pulled out of talks with him which suggests he is off somewhere. Do we need him? Give young Dawson a run out. I saw last season at leeds and he looked ok. He is quick and a tricky player.

Adam clayton on his way back to Leeds in a deal for Norris and varney, personally I this that he is a very good talent and we should not of let him go!

30 Jul 2013 22:46:26
I agree he is a lot better than all our midfield can't Belive Warnock got rid. But can't see it happening tho

Agree4 Disagree1

He didn't want to stay. He wanted too much money. Why will that be different now?

Agree0 Disagree2

31 Jul 2013 00:35:52
He wanted to stay warnock put him on the transfer list that's why he did the celebration in front of him last season

Agree2 Disagree1

Warnock was looking to raise money to fund team building. Not much ever changes, does it?! Chapel A

Agree2 Disagree0

Warnock was looking for money to line his own pocket, not team building.

This is what GFH said about the Saudi Prince story:

"The suggestion Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad is about to buy a stake in the mighty Leeds is categorically not true".

However. according to news sources Prince Abdullah bin Mosa'ad is looking to buy a club, not buy a stake in one.

I think they mean it when they say he is not looking at LUFC. Please, no more feeble attempts at keeping the story going you're only grasping at straws.

Leeds, Burnley and Middlesbrough are monitoring Theo Robinson's situation at Derby.

Believable19 Unbelievable39

Hopefully we dnt get him as he is terrible

Agree0 Disagree1

Who;s leaving Leeds then??

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have got enough strikers no out and out natural goal scorers but we have enough and need 2 quality wingers and a decent solid centre back first or we are in big trouble. See yaz sat lads Neil Hearsum

Agree8 Disagree0

Hopefully not would like to think we, d be looking at better players than robinson.

Agree2 Disagree0

He's been released so is on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree. 'Think we still need one more striker but it's not a high priority. Possibly a loanee if injuries happen early in the season.
Theo Robinson? Offers nowt and doubt he's being tracked at all, by anyone.

Yorkshire Radio to close NOW! And a new look website. GFH really have kicked the Bates era into touch. Now for some progress on the field. MOT

Believable38 Unbelievable6

GFH must be absolutely skint we can;t even keep going a decent radio station on air has for progress on field dream on we aren;t getting anybody else in unless Haigh and Co fancy a game.

Agree0 Disagree9

I think this is a kick in the teeth to Leeds fans

I certainly won't be subscribing to lutv just to listen to games

Agree0 Disagree8

What are we supposed to do now on mach day? I can't afford to go week in week out and this was my only life line on match days. Gutted

Agree0 Disagree3

Had to happen yet another £ losing business connected to lufc, the only decent presenter on there were thom kirwin, whom I would not at all be surprised will now transfer over to lutv as it seems that along with the clubs website will be revamped.

Agree3 Disagree0

I preferred listening to Yorkshire radio

Agree0 Disagree4

Will miss yorkshire radio though, all the guys on there were great and did a great job with sport coverage good music too, bates era is really ending now, looking to the future now MOT.

Agree2 Disagree1

BBC Radio Leeds will now be providing match commentary. You can listen free online.

Agree4 Disagree0

Bates kicked radio Leeds out 7 yrs ago. Then he started Yorks radio. The tables have now turned, Radio Leeds will be providing commentaries for the forthcoming season. You have to feel for the Yorks radio staff, they did provide a good service but it's now a new regime at Leeds & quietly but surely GFH are making good progress! Investment on the field now urgently required, pretty sure it's not far away. MOT

GFH are systematically taking apart Bates's empire and his boardroom pals are no more either. I think GFH don't know who they can trust and have decided to cut off all Bates projects in case he was still getting some form of benefit / income from these.
Lets hope that they have big plans in the offing and this is the start of a revolution towards new funding, new ideas and income generation.
Sad to see YR and the presenters depart but I hope GFH will replace it with something dynamic to attract the fans and advertisers.

Agree2 Disagree0

As usual some fans are engaging their mouth, or on this case their keyboard, before their brain has kicked in. As someone already said Radio Leeds will be doing commentary so you're still going to be able to listen for free. Hopefully Thom K will be offered a job with them {Ed013's Note - I think he is staying and being employed within LUTV}

Agree4 Disagree0

GFH first own goal IMO,

Agree0 Disagree3

The official accounts show that Yorkshire Radio traded at a loss of £600K last year. GFH have made a tough decision, but this money is better being put into the club?

Agree4 Disagree0

Yorkshire radio has lot millions of pounds over the last 7 years well done gfh for finally getting shut of it now I wonder if all these fans that said they would stay away until bates goes will return to help there club out you all know who you are

Agree2 Disagree1

Can't believe for years eople have been complaining about KBs vanity projects and their drain on club funds. now GFH have rid themselves of one of these vanity projects and some people are still whinging? make your minds up!

Agree4 Disagree1

I think this is another good move from GFH. They have got a contract with the tv again so back on tv Radio Leeds. YR never made money and even Bates had to plough Leeds United money into keeping it and other spin-off Bates projects alive.

If it don't make money and serves no real purpose any more then shutting it down is the right move.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally dab radio was useless for me and many others who live abroad. so this seems a move in the right direction by gfh -
froggy

Agree0 Disagree0

Think your find the majority of fans are glad its gone, do hope though that thom kirwin is kept on in some capacity maybe on lutv.

Agree0 Disagree0

Radio Leeds will have every game live! jsut like they used too! when it was freee. well done GFH for this move!

shame we can't sign anyone

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds to sighn scotish winger tomorrow eddie grays now available

Agree0 Disagree0

What new website? Still same old crap imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Another nail in a loss making organisation set up by KB to push his propaganda and shameful attacks on Leeds supporters if he thought they were getting above themselves by questioning his motives for our great club.

Agree0 Disagree0

That 600k loss could of went on a signing last summer "jetting off in a private jet plane kb won't be back again" should be sung on sat

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

For the record, I think Yorkshire Radio's coverage was excellent. The Friday and Monday evening shows in particular made its coverage as good as that of any team by any radio station, to my knowledge. Thom Kirwin was outstanding; and Eddie Gray was a objective and unsentimental pundit. Well done to them -and thanks. Radio Leeds have a hard act to follow. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Radio leeds has always been the better station I remember before they lost rights to do commentary they use to do a show on a thursday night called leeds united unplugged and for me adam pope is a passionate has they come even though he is a everton fan you can tell he cares about this club

Agree0 Disagree0

Loss-makers not needed by the club.
Don't think that we'll see the benefit of this until next year, though.
The winding-up costs will be about as high as the quarterly loss.
Keep faith with GFH. Another correct decision shows these guys actually know how to run a company.
CityWhite

Agree0 Disagree0

How anyone can complain that a cash cow like Yorkshire Radio has closed is beyond me. Sad for the staff, but tv should never have been banned in the first place.

This move isn't about limiting access for fans, its about increasing it, and mending bridges with the people that Bates messed about with.

Restoring the balance, that's what it's all about, and I'm all for it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't get Yorkshire Radio on DAB at my house in Huddersfield or my parents house near Skipton, so it was basically useless.

David Norris to sign for Bournemouth this week.

Believable55 Unbelievable22

Why would he? he's a good player 4 us.

Agree1 Disagree5

Because we have to many mids and he is on good wages belly the white

Agree3 Disagree0

Hopefully, clear some room for a new signing

Agree1 Disagree0

White, tonge, brown, drury, varney need 2 go b 4 norris he's a good player.

Agree1 Disagree2

Its alright saying, he should go, he should go and he should go!

Thing is nobody wants them!

'Hello this is AFC Bournemouth, can we have Norris?'

'No but you can have Drury, Varney, Brown or Tonge!'

'Nah yer alright, thanks anyway'

Agree1 Disagree0

Varney? he could be a big player for us this season.

Agree7 Disagree3

30 Jul 2013 16:06:05
the differences in ability between Tonge, Norris, Green, Pugh and Brown is very small and at least 2 need to move on, so if somebody wants Norris let him go

Agree4 Disagree0

I like Norris and think he is a decent player, however he can go if someone wants him.

He is 32 now, and is behind, Murphy, Austin, Green for a central midfiled slot. Whilst battling with Tonge and Brown to get in. Tonge is a few years younger so it makes sense to ship Norris out if possible.

Agree2 Disagree1

Norris is simply a squad player, hopefully this bournemouth story is true.

Agree1 Disagree0

Theres so many players I would be happy to see go on the strength of last seasons showing, however I also wonder if any of them will be better under a new system and manager? That said if we do receive offers for any of the players mentioned in this thread then I would be happy to see them go if it freed up funds for BMD.

Agree1 Disagree0

Norris is a good player and offers more than say tonge or pugh. 4 me if we are 2 get money from someone then sell austin as all he does is shoot shocking player

Agree0 Disagree0

Can anyone tell me what Norris actually does apart from bustle around a bit? He doesn't score too many goals, his passing doesn't have a great range, he isn't strong, he's not an exceptional tackler, he's poor in the air, he's not quick, he's not got any skills and he doesn't retain possession particularly exceptionally.

Agree1 Disagree0

"Sell Austin", "shocking player". Ok, I'll agree to sell any player if gaffer want to offload and price is good. But think Austin is seen as key player, and pretty confident he will have a massive season under Mac and new system! I'll eat a cornerflag if proved wrong!

Agree0 Disagree1

Austin is the next worse player after brown absolutely horrifyingly terrible

Agree0 Disagree2

Norris pugh brown an tonge all leaving dontknow who to hence why they weren't on squad list lastnight all out an in talks with the clubs interested in them uncle b'mac said drury second fiddle to warnock as white been used as a winger but will play lb if needed but hopes hell not have to 2 signings will be anounced friday the lastest 2 players is ones a center back an the others a winger not sayin no names as uncle b'mac won't tell me nout if its leaked out an don't want to mess the talks up as to all you leeds fans these 2 signings is to make yous pour your hearts out for sats game
if hear anymore ill keep yous posted

Austin played last season tired. Came from middle season in Scandinavian league - no rest - internationals in between plus injuries. This year we see the real Austin. Yes he needs to sharpen his passing on occasions and choose more wisely with shooting opportunities - but I'll not forget him outplaying and nullifying fellani in Everton win when he was one of the form players in pl.

According to CFH the Saudi Prince story is not true

Believable39 Unbelievable8

Yes Phil Hay as been told by GFH that the story going around is deffinately not true. What is interesting is that they were quick to deny this, but have not denied the Red Bull story. The Red Bull story was leaked in the first instance from Paul Robinson who is quite friendly with David Haigh. I firmly believe that this was leaked by GFH to get a response from the fans, they have done a lot of good work this summer and won't want to spoil it by doing something that the fans wouldn't like. I am sure that in some form or another Red Bull will be coming to Leeds.

Agree2 Disagree0

The story is on Bloomberg: this is a news-gathering station that provides up-to-the-minute news for businesses - not, for example, the Sun newspaper. That doesn't mean it's true, of course, or that it will happen, but I think we ought to take it seriously.

Agree3 Disagree0

I think if we look at GFH's history with statements there is a trend that they will deny something very very specific, but not deny something overall. So when they deny that this chap will not be buying a STAKE in the club they are not denying that he will not buy the ENTIRE club.

Agree0 Disagree0

A denial by GFH doesn't necessarily mean it's not true.
You will quite often hear a 'story' or 'rumour' which has been created prior to the initial contact by representatives of a potential investor.
Of course, you quite often just get people making stuff up to try and get attention. as in the case of around 98% of the guff that gets posted to this site.
Could be leaked overtures by misguided PR company. Could be nonsense made up by an incompetent 'journalist'

Agree0 Disagree0

Red bull's out if saudi in! No stimulants allowed - and end of players beer after match!

Few more decent signings and this league will quake in tgeir boots

Believable7 Unbelievable37

Hardly going to b quaking. we only have ross and byram who are players who scare teams the rest r predictable

Agree1 Disagree0

Our best and most influential player on his day and there was many last season is diouf. Good indeed are the young inexperienced byram and McCormack but none of them players are on his level. It's vital to our season he recovers quickly. CW

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah its a story picking up a bit of pace now on middle east web sites think he's worth 120 mill hope this is the investment that's been worked on behind the scenes

Diouf is very overated, he's greedy and 4 me mccormack is much better

Prince Abdullah bin Musaad, a former president of the Al-Hilal soccer club, is targeting a stake in Leeds United and another soccer team in the English Premier League he didn’t identify, al-Eqtisadia daily reported. * Prince says he is very close to buying a club and he will make an announcement on a deal in coming few days, newspaper says.
