Some of you may have seen that All Leeds TV claim to have an agent contact/ friend (who has apparently proved reliable for info previously) who advised a few days ago that despite the various media stories there had been no Barcelona offer to Leeds for Raphinha, and that Raphinha had most definitely not agreed a five year deal etc. Supposedly Raphinha was one of the favoured options for Barcelona to replace Ousmane Dembele, if the latter left in the summer. Dembele had previously turned down a new contract and was due to leave on a free, and had been frozen out of the first team. Xavi subsequently brought him back in from the cold and he has returned to form, linking up well with new signing Aubameyang. Reported that they may now be entering new talks over a renewed contract. It would be cheaper for them than buying Raphinha or any other replacement.

Dembele was PSGs preferred replacement for Di Maria this summer, but they are supposedly monitoring Raphinha’s situation as a possible fallback option.
