Santa Cruz turns down Boro loan move to stay closer to North West -

Picture him in a Leeds Shirt anyone..!

Woody LUFC

Believable12 Unbelievable22

No thanks, need someone with pace.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yh mate would be excellent in championship. Last season it was on sky sports that he would drop down a division for a team with big fans and stadiums like Leeds so think he would join. This was his dad I think though but him and McCormack would rape the championship!

Agree1 Disagree1

Why not?

Hopefully we will soon be rid of Santa Claus Bates so replace him with Santa Cruz!!

KTJ - Abu Dhabi!

Agree2 Disagree1

I would have thought he would go to QPR to be back with Mark Hughes

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure when the story broke last year (as per previous poster), it was said that his father, who also acts as his agent, is a Leeds fan...Anyone remember that? Be a great signing in this league, but will he fit in with what we have?

Jody

Agree0 Disagree1

Would give him a go deffinately

Agree0 Disagree1

Would love it if he came to us

Agree0 Disagree1

Picture him on the physios table more like, more injury prone than eddy the eagle! would be great if it worked though, massive wages surely? slc {Ed003's Note - Even if it was true,he has problems with his back}

Agree1 Disagree0

Here is another perspective on the takeover. When buying a company you need to value the asset base and then one option is to negotiate a multiplier on that value to get to a final sale price. There will be lots of issues and many elements held over with valuations being held in 'escrow' ( which means if Mr Pastry has been lying those doing the buying can claim back parts of what has been negotiated).

Anyway. If you've been following all of the news and not just the sporting bit Mr P has been cashing in on all the assets. £2m of wedge up front from the catering rights, £.5m for the official hotel endorsement, south stand sponsorship and so on. The LUFC accounts have accruals relating to the costs for the police court case. Case won (this time) so more dosh released to the balance sheet and a bigger number for the multiplier to turn into Mr P's retirement fund.

The playing staff with little or no contract length have been turned in to cash and those bought, surprise surprise, taken on longer contracts than normal. Why? Because it values the balance sheet higher. Sign a player like Ashdown for nought but give him a 2+1 contract and bingo he has a value and back comes the multiplier bonus again.

It is all standard stuff and why I believe it will be the end of the transfer window or once all current low assets have either been increased (White) or cashed in (Snodgrass) before we will be rid of the Monaco manipulator.

The new investors are not in any mad rush and NW has assembled a good crew so far so nothing to be worried about.

Just returning from a month away and been highly entertained by the site. Well done everyone. By the way I did hear before going away that the UK party helping our Arabian friends was none other than Frank Gray. Nice to see his lady the club then!

Agree0 Disagree1

Yorkshire Evening Post are reporting that he is on 90,000 a week?! (Ed is this true?) surely we cant offer him anything remotely in the region of that. I doubt he will make the switch, although weirder things have happened!

The D man {Ed013's Note - I can't see it myself (coming to Leeds) however is wage is too high for any Championship club with the wage cap. If he has turned down Boro to be near the North West then why come to Leeds which is in the East? If it is true and he cant get a club like Wigan,then Bolton/Blackburn would be on his radar I imagine}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seem to remember us being linked with him in the past -and nothing came of it. I wouldn't bother personally -don't think we'd get our money's worth, for the ridiculous amount it would cost. Has barely kicked a ball in anger for 2/3 years. We need to look beyond 'names' -it's the Michael Owen syndrome again... Chapel A

Are the Ed's on strike..?

Bitting my nails to bone here

Woody LUFC {Ed020's Note - nothing new to report am afraid, we're just as clueless about the takeover as anybody. i heard(don't take it as gospal, that 2 of the investors have gone home and 1 representative or investor has stayed to comfirm details, as i said thats from a source thats usually right so don't quote me lol}

not a good move by LUST criticising the potential new owners, this is why nobody ever wants to buy us, i wish theyd shut up for once criticising everything or theyre gonna knack this up for us

Believable23 Unbelievable11

Go on explain how asking for some info from a supporters trust is gonna knack up a multi million pound deal. Get real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Be quiet bates

Agree0 Disagree0

If it wasn't for Lust we would not be in takeover talks so stop talking b*******.Trevo

Agree1 Disagree0

Well because any potential new investors or owners will want to come into a club with their own ideas of how to run things, they certainly won't want a group of persons telling them how to run their business. It's off putting to say the least when buying a business. Totally agree with the original poster. I think the supporters trust is a great idea if it were run properly, at the minute they are just annoying, they know as much as us and they trying to make out they will get information before us. Not try. Just be patient and shut up

Agree0 Disagree0

If it wasnt for lust there would be know takeover happening one day you will thank them

Agree0 Disagree0

Lust have nothing to do with takeover, then they would`nt be so desperat for news.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Lust should indeed stay quiet. The business dealings are really none of their business and we will all find out in due course once that business has been conducted correctly and ethically. Fingers Crossed

Agree0 Disagree0

Get Real. Deal or no deal LUST is just a group of morons, IMO. No, I'm not Bates just a long standing season ticket holder who who is tired of hearing this bunch mouthing off- they dont own anything to do with the club and at best are just supporters with a bad attitude. They do nothing good for the clubs reptutation or positive future prospects.

Agree0 Disagree0

LUST. lust for self importance. Bates has done more for Leeds than LUST ever will. They do no represent the majority of Leeds supporters. They dont even represent half the crowd at a wet Tuesday night in the League Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hats of to lust i say for reminding the bates lovers out there how much of a crook bates really is if it wasnt for them pointing out a few facts where would we be now they are leeds fans just like us all of us and want the best for the club Dale mot?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lust could ruin this as in their angry child like email they critised the new owners for not being honest and open with the fans from the start. they are trying to get themselves on the board. how many other businesses have customers on the board-none. trading standards should look at lust - board banned from buying tickets so by definition are armchair fans and not supporters

Agree0 Disagree0

Lust are a bunch of self appointed spokesmen for the Supporters , well they certainly dont speak for me and the vast majority of decent Leeds supporters that I talk to , in fact Ive never met one that will admit to being one yet.
Most of their so called members just jumped on the bandwaggon when things were not going right for us on the field.
I dont like the majority of Bates policies either, but telling people not to go to matches to hit him in the pocket, then moan coz he won't spend money is never going to help us achieve our ambitions.
Lust also have had no bearing on the Take over one way or the other, they are a non entity .
If the team perform on the pitch they will be long forgotton .
So get behind Neil and the team and forget slagging Bates and the new owners .
This new team deserve to have our full backing and support to help them .

Agree0 Disagree0

ARE YOU LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD ...

Whoever posted ...." If it wasnt for lust there would be know takeover happening one day you will thank them."

Get Real, this T/O has nothing whatever to do with lust. A group of attention seeking non entities who's time is over. bye bye.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here, IMO LUST just like to say a couple of things every odd occasion just to let people know theyre still around, thats it

Agree0 Disagree0

It's really refreshing to hear everybody's true opinions about LUST. I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't like their interfering "on my behalf". They do not stand for my views as a supporter, and don't seem to do anything other than moan when things aren't going the way they want them to.

They want money invested in the team - they stop going to games; They want a new owner - they criticise them at the first opportunity (before we even know who they are)

The attitude doesn't help at all.

LUST do not represent my views or opinions in any way at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wot are lust going to do when we do get taken over all ther do is create another problem tere is no need for them all there are are self electied and self promoting bunch of cranks [kez1919]

Paynter to Blackpool on SSN

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Only on trial. He will be found not guilty of being a striker

leeds offer McCormack a new three-year deal

Believable23 Unbelievable10

Not They don't it been on the table about 4 weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that a newer offer than the one he was offered a month ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there will be a new offer made for McCormack, something both party's are happy with. Just like the white situation. If not warnocks made it very clear he will only be leaving in a player exchange. Faith in warnock to get a decent player if it comes to this. Personally il think hell sign another 2 years

I have just about had enuff now with this take over and the players we have got at this stage of pre season he says we need 2 more and that's it I don't understand how he thinks this team will go up worrying times Richie 1979

Believable9 Unbelievable13

NW has said 4 more..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have been more worried if we still had the old team together.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see the negativity still evident amongst us Leeds fans, I for one am a lot more optimistic about our chances than I was last season. We have 2 goalies better than our first choice last season, finally what looks like a decent left back, a cracking young centre half and potentially goals from our midfield. Once Colin adds a decent forward and maybe one creative player i'm sure we'll be fine. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

When has he said this team will go up? He said he is building a squad capable of challenging for promotion. Support the manager and players he has brought in if your'e a true supporter.

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't have to have blind faith if you are a supporter. Do you really think all these free transfers are going to get us promotion. The money from Snodgrass is not being invested in the squad and McCormack could be leaving next. I understand the posters worries. Five of the players we have signed got relegated out of the Championship last year. If any other team had signed these players you would be laughing at them

Agree0 Disagree0

Charlton and Bristol City offering for £1.5m for a player, we are just not in that league. I am worried too.

Agree0 Disagree0

One thing p*****s me off more than norwich and thats these so called fans always moaning and crying about what other teams are spending, who gives a f*** what they spend ,get behind your manager and club and stop whinging

Agree0 Disagree0

That was gray who quite often talks carp on in his yep column. NW says 3/4 quality signings to come . slc

Agree0 Disagree0

Portsmouth only got relegated because of the points deduction, so they would have stayed up. Besides, how can you use that as a basis for whether they're good enough or not? It's about the quality of the said player and how it fits into our team, not how it didn't fit into another team.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 5th response:

We've paid for most of our transfers. What do you mean free?!

We've spent £1.5 million, what do you mean the squad isn't being invested in?

If McCormack wants to go, let him go. We'll get a different striker in to do a job.

The Pompey players in our squad would have finished only a few points behind us last season and with a better goal difference if they hadn't had points deducted.

I'd call it pretty good business to take a load of quality players, who are used to playing together, at knock down prices to replace the questionable players we had in the squad last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

You asked what the poster meant by free. I think they mean
Gray
Crainey
Varney
Green
Norris
Drury
Ashdown

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't have a problem with free transfers, why do people think that free players are S***. I bet the same ppl would happily spend 2M on Beckford having let him go for free! I pretty sure all the free signings we had made had turn down contracts from their clubs, unless they couldnt afford them anymore (pompy) They aren't rejects, they are players who are at a better standard or want another challenge. Give the new payers a chance and I bet once the season has kicked off it will be much more enjoyable to be a Leeds fan than in the previous few seasons.

sorry to be negative but i think a team that has been fighting relegation all season develop a losing mentality. i hope warnock can change that mindset with his new signings and fast. cranie if he signs relegated with coventry and the four pompey players . im sure he will

Believable7 Unbelievable15

If you're sorry to be negative ... change it and fill your glass, it doesn't cost a penny. The four players signed from Portsmouth were only relegated because of the imposed 10 point deduction ... and Neil Warnock will keep them all positive.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

6 ex Portsmouth players at Leeds now, surely it would have been cheaper just to buy the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

All the players that have come to club have done so because they want to play for leeds. which is more than can be said for the ship jumpers of last season .

Agree0 Disagree0

West Spam have had a bid accepted to loan Andy Carroll for the season. They have a ridiculous amount of strikers now, Maynard isn't going to get a sniff in that company. Worth a cheeky bid? {Ed020's Note - if its not us, i can see him definitley dropping down to the championship level}

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Yes they have got more strikers than Arthur Scargill! I like Sam Baldock at West Ham 5 goals in 6 starts lasts year. He would be great for us
