I know this sounds obvious but we need an Abramovic to take us over, not a supporters trust if we are going to get back to where we feel we belong. It's strange to me that some on here seem to want a period of stability even if that means staying where we are. I can only assume these people are a lot younger than me.

I am getting too old to wait much longer for the good times to return.
I really don't understand why no multi/multi billionaire isn't interested in a one city massive club like ours, because if they came in and made us great again they would be idolised by thousands.

I agree but we are probably seen as a poisoned chalice so not very attractive.

I agree; but to a true billionaire we would be seen as potential for the future not the (agreed) poison chalice we are now. Hence the need for a Russian Oligarch with oil money to get rid of. Maybe a young Putin offspring needs to invest abroad before the coup. I don't care if he has Mafia connections so long as he has LUFC running thro his veins. At least he would know a way to get rid of Bates and GFH, I am thinking horses heads here. Where else could you buy a Premiership club for Championship money?

A Multi Billionaire/Millionaire Will want to do things his way and that's the way it should be as he puts up the money chooses how it's used, However there are those who believe that they should T/O the club then throw more money at it and then shut up sit back and let others decide how it's spent! Not a chance nowadays! If whoever comes in and succeds will be popular enough without having to worry as to how the fans react! MC Should've just got on wit and did it his way, if he failed guess what he's unpopular, Succed and he's more than popular! IMHO anyway!

Whilst this isn't Germany where single ownership is illegal and this isn't Spain where teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid are owned by supporters I am excited by the opportunity for fans to purchase shares.

The time it takes for Leeds Fans United to raise the necessary funds and for the sale negotiation to be completed will probably dictate the chance of a single buyout being successful.

At present I don't see this as a priority. 3 points tomorrow is priceless for confidence and what little momentum we could take with us through the games in November.

Do we really think this is a good idea LFU taking over I mean let's face facts and the big question where would they have the money to buy Leeds 2 how would they pay players wages and then January transfer window in 2 months would they have the funds to buy players Portsmouth did this and are struggling to get out of league two . we don't get 70.000+ fans at a game like big clubs in Germany . your looking at ticket sales and money from the Leeds store and then sponsers and still may struggle. But one good thing can come of this guys like Mike Farnan who's was given he's backing to LFU could buy big shares if my memory is correct don't Arsenal have 2/4 shareholders that could work . but yet one more hurdle MC was in London today and was in talks with another businessman for a takeover of Leeds united who is he what's he worth and will he outbid LFU? This great club for years has been a laughing stock for one poor owner to the next and first real guy that came in MC turned the club around stopped the club from kissing money and turned us into a profit and spent money with haven't seen since before we was relegated to the and we turn our backs on him get be himd him . yes he hires wrong managers and sacks to many but he is a winner and wants to win . we all make mistakes his are not paying tax yet he can still help this club.

There will be multiple bids from various consortia and other already mentioned interests being prepared now. The opportunity has arisen and I only hope that someone with real clout can once and for all resolve all the garbage around ongoing holding of gfh; onerhsip of er/ta; bates still lurking around like a bad smell who I believe still has some interest.
Fans group will need a MAJOR partner to make it work long term.
hoping red bull pitch up in some form or another.

I guess the writing was on the wall with MC from the start. FL were going to hound him no matter what, too erratic a man to run leeds which above all else craves stability. His addiction to managers having the knock on effect of keeping any real quality managers well away from considering taking leeds on.

I don't hate MC iand I do believe we are slightly better off than we were under bates and gfh, just feel he has bitten off more than he can chew and isn't a big enough fish to fully clear the decks sadly.

never dull supporting Leeds, I still retail optimism that the big time is just around the corner, hope something can happen before xmas otherwise without investment in playing squad, worried we will return to lg 1.

Good post but I'm expecting some crony from GFH or Bates himself to turn up as Chairman.

I'd take red bull tomorrow, they can change name of stadium and team if they pump millions into us but it will always be Leeds United and Ellen's road to fans no matter they wanna call it.

I presume Ellen's Rd was a typo Martyn!

Anyway, if Bates does re-emerge from behind the scene, I for one wouldn't go whilst he is in charge. I know nobody would give a stuff but if others had the same attitude, then it would hurt the bearded one as all we could do is hurt him in the pocket.

Bates has no interest in Leeds other than to bleed us dry. He would even take us into admin with all his creative accounting methods, paying his own lawyers, his own wife, etc etc. Didn't he once say he would not rest until he ruined Leeds United or words to that effect? How could someone with an agenda like Bates be any good for LUFC?

I remember going to ER for a weed week game under his tenure when it cost me £37 for my ticket and £37 for my 9 year old daughter's ticket to watch a p**s poor game in the rain, where we lost to Plymouth Argyle. Talk about rip off. The Family Stand back then had cheap £10-£15 tickets but only in one very small section, all others were full price!

Now I know I'll get a lot of abuse on here by super fans saying support the team etc etc, which I have done for many years but another period of Bates in charge would be too much for me. He would ruin our beloved club once and for all and I would refuse to give him my hard earned money.

Anyway, rant over - I sincerely hope he's nothing to do with any take over. Kim Jong Un, Phil Mitchell, Satan or anyone but please no Bates.

MM.

I dunno I quite like Ellen Road ha ha.

We need money foe sure, I can't see the league allowing a name change as in red bull Leeds or whatever but I don't really mind a change of ground name as you get over that and I would pay that price for investment.

Re selling to fans, can't see that working at this level, need 50m plus and that has never happened in the UK before so best if they could buy a small share and have a voice on board ideally but again my business head says that won't happen either.

Steve E has somehow got to get the most out of the team/bring 3-4 quality types in whilst we have all this really bad press/negative feeling aimed at us. Impossible job? Managing Leeds even harder than the England job.
