Leeds reportedly interested in 40 year old veteran Kevin Phillips. The striker is comepetitive at this level & would add serious experience up front. The no 9 shirt is vacant for him.

Believable12 Unbelievable38

Don't need another veteran in the swuad. He is good at this level but need younger players.

Agree2 Disagree0

I heard leicester were favourites for him because his family all live in midlands?

Agree0 Disagree0

Has BM said we want players for today and tomorrow, so like every one else I'm saying never as a player but maybe a coach could be a small possibility?

philips on soccer am just said he is staying in the midlands

Any deal for Max Gradel is 100% dead in the water now. It was a long shot in the first place but it is confirmed by Saint Etienne's manager.

Believable40 Unbelievable9

What the manager has said is that he would like Max to stay and is to have talks with him [mg]. As we well know as football fans its footballers and agents who decide where they play and not managers. Remember all the times we were told key players would not be leaving and found out to our disappointment that tough talking about keeping star players amounted to nothing. Just saying that because the manager has said this isn't in itself a guarantee he will remain at StE.

Agree5 Disagree0

Max is demanding game time to bolster his world cup ambitions. The manager will have to guarantee that demand or he will leave the club.

Agree2 Disagree0

Brian stated last night o the radio he doesn't see this happening

Leeds to sign Croatian International striker Mladen Petric. The 32 year old is a free agent after being released by West Ham. He is willing to take a wage cut so that he can play First Team Football in the hope of making Croatia's World Cup Squad.

Believable15 Unbelievable35

He's a good player, if it's true it would be a shrewd signing!

Leeds United Signings
Wells from Bradford City (£2m)
Stewart from Hull City (£300k)
Le Fondre from Reading (£700k)
Possibly a Goalkeeper

Out:
Norris to Bradford City
Poleon on Loan
White to Sheffield Utd

Believable48 Unbelievable21

Don't think we need both wells and le fondre and if we do then will need to offload varnye and maybe send poleon out on loan!

Agree6 Disagree0

Get Wells and McCarthy, Gradel deal off . Mot

Agree4 Disagree0

Would love this to happen!

Agree4 Disagree1

700k for alf are you joking? he's worth 3 mill easy

Agree3 Disagree4

3mil for a player that sits on the bench for most games in a championship side, don't make me laugh lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes 3 mill for a quality player like him. just cus they sit on the bench at 1 club dnt mean there value goes down u clown. he's played in the prem and did very well so if wells is worth 2 mill then yes alf is worth 3 atleast. 700k lol dream on why would they take a huge loss on him when they paid I think it was 5 mill 4 him, use your brain

Agree1 Disagree3

They signed him from Rotherham for £350,000 a player that doesn't play regular for a championship team is never worth £3m.

Agree3 Disagree0

Think you need to use your brain a bit reading did not pay 5 million for le fondre it was 500k that's what they paid rotherham

Agree1 Disagree0

Loan out Dawson if he won't get any games. Need to flog more than that too; Brown, Varney, Drury, Ashdown, Green, Warnock/Pugh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just last season lefondre was very close to being sold for 5 mill so 700k you are way of the mark

Sadly we can put the Gradel rumours to bed. Brian McDermott has just said on that he doesn't see it happening. He reiterated that he will not sign players on sentiment

Believable31 Unbelievable7

Yes I heard that interview, pretty much said max hasn't played much for 2 years etc

Leeds reportedly interested in Reading Goalkeeper Adam Federici. He is unhappy at not being first team goalkeeper at the club & he only became a footballer after Brian McDermott reccommended him to. Also Paddy Kenny is old & a Warnock guy so we should expect to see him on BT Sport soon.

Believable29 Unbelievable10

As much as I rate Federici, there is nothing wrong with Kenny, he has barely put a foot wrong this season.

Agree4 Disagree1

Warnock guy or not, Kenny has been solid for us this season. We don't need a second first-choice keeper.

This is only a rumor but heard from friends dad who works as cleaning staff at Elland road that Matt mulls could be coming to Elland road to go towards bolting huge debt, he'd be a good signing to help our defence. Nahki wells would be goo
d to help share the load for McCormack but doubt he'd come with all interest in him, MOT!

Believable9 Unbelievable15

Mills was a target in May and Bilton have finance problems so it's a possibility

Agree1 Disagree1

No chance, not with another centre half warming the bench.

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Jan 2014 21:14:07
Since he was a target we have signed 2 center backs Marilou's and wooton so no chance dreamer. He crap anyway far too slow that's why he can't get a game at Bolton

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Jan 2014 17:00:45
Leeds are now ahead of Huddersfield in a 3 way West Yorkshire Tussle over Bradford City Striker Nahki Wells, the transfer fee believed to be around £2 Million.

Believable30 Unbelievable20

Lets be honest he ain't worth 2 mill.

Agree3 Disagree2

Probably 1.5 and a player or two would suffice

Agree2 Disagree1

Cash plus Norris

Agree5 Disagree0

Why would bradford want norris? wells is only worth 1 mill tops unproven at this level and 4 me he will struggle at this level please leeds dnt waste your money

Just heard from my uncle terry, a scout for leeds united that we are interested in taking everyone's left back Oviedo on a 3 month loan due to baines returning to the starting 11. Hope this helps MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable33

Thought Baines was off to U

Agree0 Disagree1

That will be a lot of left backs pal

Agree1 Disagree0

Everyone's left back? Blimey, we're already overstaffed in that area imagine how big the squad will be then!

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes but if uncle Terry is recommending it Mc will listen!

Agree2 Disagree0

He's a scout so I'm just telling what he's told me, don't hate the messenger, I'm just trying to give some hope of new signings ok! And yes I do have an uncle terry

Agree2 Disagree0

No chance of him coming. Best player while baines was injured grabbed a goal or 2. Even preferred to pienaar on wing the other day!

Agree1 Disagree0

'Uncle Terry' is actually a youth scout and has nothing to do with the first team scouting system. Nice try though.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2014 19:58:56
Fare doo's

Agree0 Disagree0

Terry Potter is a youth team coach. Doubt he will know BMD's dealings!

Agree1 Disagree1

Terry potter isn't a youth team coach, he is second in charge of the academy and in charge of the scouting, he has meetings with Brian Mac every week along with Redders, but this rumours is utter rubbish because Terry has sacked people before for telling rumours so I majorly doubt he would be telling people anything!

Nahki Wells is looking to come to Leeds. He knows the area well having studied here. He wants first team football and that is the reason he is reluctant about the premier league. Its still up in the air but he has an offer on the table and he's indicated that Leeds looks like the right move short term.

Nicholson

Believable25 Unbelievable15

Highly unlikely
he'll go to qpr or a

Agree0 Disagree5

Highly unlikely
he'll go to qpr for about £3m which qpr offered before the last transfer window or he'll go to a lower premiership team, wheres he's guaranteed a game every week.
he's not tested in these leagues but clubs will take a gamble on him. leeds will not sign him, he's too expensive!

Agree3 Disagree3

QPR Wolves and Reading have all bid for him

Agree1 Disagree2

How many three million league one to premier league gambles have happened recently?

Agree1 Disagree2

QPR didn't bid the only bid Bradford received for him in summer was from Peterborough for £1.2m which they rejected

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jan 2014 18:16:32
might be a possibility he lives in east ardsley still don't he

Agree2 Disagree0

Everyone keeps saying highly unlikely! I had a guy at my xmas gathering that is high up at Bradford and he kept telling me Leeds are right in there when it comes to Nakki Wells, doesn't matter how much money other clubs have, if he doesn't want to go there it won't happen.

Agree2 Disagree0

Not quite sure where a 5'7" striker will fit in when our main man Ross is only 5' 9". would be an expensive bench-warmer. Any new striker will need to be a powerful type in the mould of a Becchio, Sharp, Deeney etc (not necessarily those individuals, before anyone starts. but definitely one in their mould, someone to put pressure on defences). According to the YEP Leeds are one of the clubs that have made contact with Bradford regarding Nahki Wells but haven't made a bid

Believable21 Unbelievable4

Just looked - cannot see that!

Agree1 Disagree0

Look on Yorkshire Post website, Bradford section. Headline "Exclusive: City turn down an opening seven-figure bid for Wells"

Agree1 Disagree0

I think your stating the obvious. Local team have an interest in exciting new youngster playing for another local team and have more money and profile. Not exactly rocket science for scouts

Agree1 Disagree0

That just because he's local and talented doesn't mean it's a given. We haven't gone after people like Jon Stones, Jack Hunt, Harry Maguire etc

Agree1 Disagree0

Hearing we are close to signing Cameron Stewart on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. He has pace and some skill so he might b quite good. Ariyibi can come on too, he has pace and skill, but is not good enough to start. What are people thinking of Ariyibi and Stewart?

Believable24 Unbelievable7

Not a pair of wingers to scare any half decent Championship defence I'm afraid.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ariyibi looks a good prospect but needs to stay on his feet a bit more, went down far too easily several times on Saturday. Maybe he is a bit lightweight, only 18 after all.

Agree7 Disagree0

Neither of them are good enough to start. Ariyibi is probably the same as white where he has the pace but no composure or quality where as Stewart is just not good enough what so ever

Agree0 Disagree3

That's never going to happen! Stewart is out of contract at the end of the season why would hull let him leave for nothing when they can cash in now?

Agree1 Disagree0

Bit lightweight? Stewart is frequently on the bench at Charlton, which doesn't really bode well; as he was at Burnley and Hull. Don't we want players who can come straight into the team and make a difference? Chapel A

Agree3 Disagree0

Ariyibi is just a young lad and his involvement in the first team is just a product of the lack of wingers we have, see where he is in 3 years after a few loans. Stewart I don't really know much about!

Agree1 Disagree0

Before you all start saying stewart isn't good enough let's at least give the lad a chance not even signed yet and people are already slagging him of

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes because we don't want him. Stewart or gradel.
No choice really, gradel may have had injury problems but if he passes the medical then he would rip up the championship. There was a reason why liverpool were after him last season

Take over to be announced 4pm today MOT

Believable14 Unbelievable32

Not sure this is true or not! Where has the info come from?
YEP reporting middle of the month as FL needed more information.

Agree4 Disagree0

Been on radio Leeds that the football league are not back until next week and they have requested some more paperwork from the consortium so I don't think it will be announced today.

Lifelongleedsfan

Agree3 Disagree0

Announced earlier this afternoon.

That is for Charlton and not Leeds, as this takeover is ages away from being completed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Press conf today at 4pm. Pre Rochdale game maybe some news on transfers

Agree1 Disagree0

No time soon with harvey dealing with it

Agree0 Disagree0

Its 5 o clock?

David Moyes has confirmed extended talks that there is 2 championship sides interested in taking Zaha on loan for a season?

Believable28 Unbelievable5

I would have him anyday even if he's from manchester united

Agree3 Disagree0

QPR, Leicester or Forest.

Not Leeds

Agree0 Disagree3

Cant see him coming to Leeds after the abuse Leeds fans gave him last year.
would be a great loan signing for us tho.
