leeds lining up summer swoops for shaun maloney and callum mcmanaman from wigan and adlene guedioura from forest. also looking to bring in defensive cover. guedioura and maloney are targets made by nigel adkins in a recent meeting with gfh for when he takes over and r the two he desperately wants. he also wants mcmanamum as he likes the winger a lot but if he fails in getting him he will try get burke on a free to play RM with guedioura CM and maloney LM. defensive cover is supposed to be frazer richardson to make a comeback to be cover for byram as we have pearce as CB cover white and drury when fir as Lb cover but no RB cover. can't wait for summer to come with adkins bringing in some real quality and depth and gfh getting the chance to show they mean business. Sounds like dream land! Maloney plays every week, so does the forest lad who they have only just brought and mc is a star in the making after the last fa cup game for Wigan!

Who says Adkins is next Leeds manager? What evidence do you have? This is of course wishful thinking on your part -but begs the serious question: is Adkins the man for the job? For me, no, no, no. Sorry to rain on your parade. Chapel A

Would be nice if true, Maloney is certainly very influential for Wigan.

Ok Chapel A, fair comment. In the yes corner we have a youngish up and coming manager who has done very well so far, good style of play, intelligent and a good bet for many prem clubs. What do you feel is in the no corner?

Agree1 Disagree1

Keep dreaming you need money to spend to get players summat leeds clearly don't have and forest are in a better financial position then leeds who don't need to sell especially one of there players whose 1st on the team sheet

If - and it's a big If - Adkins came in, I could see a move for Lambert.

Get real that lot would cost a few bob and we haven't got two pennies to rub together. Would be fab if true though!

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry utter utter rubbish! Our joke owners are here to flip us and make money! if the player is remotely good or over 200K, it basically rules us out!

You should spend your time in better ways. most other teams in our division would love to have Warnock as their manager, this is because he has a proven track record.

SteveA, good to see you're putting forward the majority view you made up all on your own.
I have yet to hear any fan of any opposing team in this division nor any other, state either their admiration for our manager or their desire for him to take over their own team. not one.
A few Leeds fans have come on here and stated that they would like to see Adkins given the job of creating a proper structure and philosophy of play that doesn't include the revolving door of has-been's and never-were's, nor the ego-based strategy vacuum of last century management.
Adkins could do a job based on what he has achieved everywhere he's gone.
Warnock can do a temporary job to achieve a single goal but, ultimately will do more harm than good, based on what he's done everywhere he's gone.

It remains to be seen how many pennies GFHC have to rub together (Incidentally, why would anyone do that? I have two pennies, but have never felt the urge. ). The only way you, I or anyone else outside that boardroom will find out is to wait and see what they do in the summer. {Ed039's Note - I have never thought of that, I have never had the urge to rub 2 pennies together either)

I love your optimism after x years of waiting with baited breath during transfer windows for the quality players promised to come in and only seeing our best players go the other way and the tranfer money disappear. GFH had a chance to invest with their alledged choise of manager in january and nothing was forth coming a couple of Mill would have prob bridged the gap for a playoff place for ourselves but nothing but a swap for our best player with money over, freebies and loans. We are crying out for a winger but none have appeared. So I for one am not holding out hope for miracles in the summer and if so it will be the same next season for Warnock/Atkins/Poyet, etc

Maloney recently signed a new deal and he plays every week!

Middle eastern consortium reportedly willing to spend 1. 3 billion for arsenal. They could have us for 55 million, that's one he'll of a saving. All things considered we must be value on those figures. Must be worth a phone call Gfh if you want to make a quick buck

Good point!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would they spend money on a team that's going nowhere and the fans only turn up when things are going right I'd rather buy wigan

Agree0 Disagree1

GFH bought leeds for £19m. £12m to master bates as deposit and £7m due on May the 1st [plus £2m for costs and a wedge that helped with Hall, Tongue and Poleon and Byram's extension.

you don't want to even start thinking about what happens if the £7m doesn't materialise.

The smart money is on Pearson and his Saudi backer [who have stepped back from Mr Parkin, Stubbs et al] will wait to the death before saving GFH's neck and pocketing a controlling interest with GFH left as investors.

By the way ed the log in isn't working {Ed013's Note - Ok mate, I will look into it}

But for £1. 3 billion they get a state of the heart stadium that holds 60k, a team that is young and playing near the top of the Premiership and some world class youngsters that will be around for several years. They also operate at a wealthy profit

Now compare (for half the money) - You get an ageing ground that isn't yours when you buy and only holds 35k on a good day and a team of 30 somethings that are well past their sell date and a shakey future playing in the championship. We may have a few pounds in the bank?

I think if I was an investor with that sort of money I'd go with the expensive option knowing it has a Premiership future without spending another billion to get it where it needs to be.
