The Mirror have publicly stated

"Leeds' would-be new owner Massimo Cellino paid the club’s £1million wage bill last week to save them from financial chaos."

I would love them or anyone else to provide proof of this considering the proven lies that have come out of this guys mouth already regarding the sacking of McDermott?

Believable31 Unbelievable19

OP here. Forgot to add, I really can't believe Leeds wage bill is actually a million pounds a week as implied anyway, or perhaps that's just the Mirror not being literate enough to say they paid the last months wage bill in the last week?

Agree2 Disagree1

I have done a little research, Ed does Mr Cellini have to get approval from FL before he can own the club, or is it after the purchase of the club that he needs FL approval .?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed013's Note - He needs it to own the club mate}

I once looked online about leeds rumours from the sun and 1 out of 300 rumours came true

Agree0 Disagree1

Ok cheers for that, as was looking at the cases of Coventry City and Notts County and it appeared they got or were refused it after purchasing respective clubs.Must have mis interpreted it .Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

The Daily Mirror, says it all people, unbelievable.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm in favour of celino. He's already put his money where is mouth is. Celino is my man

Agree7 Disagree3

Wouldnt be a fan of someone with a dodgie past such as Cellino but and its a BIG BUT I have NO faith in GFH. All they have done is promise money lies, we have the football club at heart lies and more lies continue from these UNTRUSTWORTHY people.

Can Cellino be any worse?

Agree5 Disagree1

I too am slowly beginning to favour Cellino.

Agree7 Disagree0

Don't think flowers trusts gfh either, probs why they have a winding up order on them.

Agree2 Disagree0

We had bates thrust upon us and you say you don't want cellino, give it a rest!bates was 10 times worse than cellino, a truly horrible man.give cellino a chance.

Agree6 Disagree3

05 Feb 2014 12:30:17
Cellino may well have lied (as reports suggest) over the BMD sacking but he soon back tracked and pledged his support for Brian after realising the passion of the fans reaction, this shows he listens something Bates never did nor Flowers going by the way he's acting. the bottom line is you have the money or you don't, one man who has great wealth or six/seven all chipping in a couple of quid here and there and what paid structure will this consortium want out of profits? one man answerable for actions or a group blaming each other as we are now.
Its the king of the Corn for me

Agree1 Disagree1

Cellino with BMD would get thumbs up from me but does not seem to be a match made in heaven and surely BMD's position would soon become untenable?
Change of ownership to attract new investment desperately needed, change of Manager is last thing we want.

Agree2 Disagree0

"We had bates thrust upon us and you say you don't want cellino, give it a rest!bates was 10 times worse than cellino, a truly horrible man.give cellino a chance"

Agree0 Disagree0

I also am slowly coming round to the idea of Cellino but my main concern is that he keeps BMD as manager. Hopefully the italians money and BMD steady approach will see us headin the right direction. Have to say I am still not totally convinced but as others have said slowly coming round to the idea.
PeteMOT

Agree1 Disagree0

To the 11th poster on this thread, Cellino has consistantly lied about the managerial postion re the sacking of Mcdermott. He also stated that he couldn't comment on Mcdermotts future with the club if he becomes owner. Mcdermott has been bought back by GFH to keep the fans on side. Cellino comes in, I'm sorry guys but Mcdermotts gone.

People who are pro cellino need to take a good long look at history with Cagliari before wishing him on us thinking it's going to be a quick fix back to the prem.

Agree2 Disagree0

To the 15th Poster who Posted about the 11th Poster, I am a different Poster. I don't necessarily think that people are pro The King Of Corn, but simply that this guys wants to buy the club and has got a few quid.
Anything is better than what we have now, a banking group with no cash, who constantly promise and never deliver.
Cellino might be a bit of a crazy character, but I think that's what we need.
We have been fighting against having no money since Ridsdale the Bandit put us in the mire. Love or Hate Bates, he did save our club, but then failed to invest any further to get us back where we all want as it was simply a money making venture for him.
I for one hopes Cellino gets the club, and let's just wait and see what happens, will be a fun ride along the way, and at least he has an interest in football. Andy Flowers Goes Pop and his friends wouldn't be able to take us to the next level.
Nice MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Wouldnt it be easy just to put your name to your rumour instead of 10th poster to 15th poster etc?

Agree1 Disagree0

Andy flowers is punching above his weight trying to become leeds uniteds owner. sucessfull premier league teams are controlled by the elites who buy clubs as toys in the same way we go to toysruz for our children. Andy flowers is better of trying to negotiate a deal with Harry ramsden selling fish and chips. Cellino ticks my boxes.

Agree1 Disagree0

I am the 11th poster and all I am trying to put across is my opinion, many people with loads of dosh are ruthless that's how they get there, but they are successful. Bates love him or hate him he did a job for Leeds and took us as far as he could then tried to get as much back as he could before he was jogged on. Ultimately success will come but it has to start from results on the pitch, let's not get to carried away with the Huddersfield game 3 points from a possible 21, I like BMD but it will be a steady plod along mid table 4-6 points off the play-offs season "building" for next season selling Ross & Sam to fund it.
This will be the same with Flowers & co local businessmen ticking over in the community not wanting to upset people by taking any gambles, do people think Cellino would pay 25 mil of his personal fortune to deliberately destroy the club? no he invests for success and won't hang around with 5 year plans, people are writing about who are Cagliari? what have they achieved? they have spent the last 10 years in Serie A

Agree1 Disagree1

Its looking like the Italian stallion is the leader in a one horse race. If he comes in i'd like him to give BMD a chance but more than anything i'd like him to keep to that plan of building proper foundations at the club.

Im not saying he would but what if he dismantled the academy? Would that be worth it.

Anyway a deep breath and let's brace ourselves. I liked Ken Bates i'm sure I can learn to like this guy.

Ciao, Fawksey

Agree1 Disagree1

What lies has Cellino told? It is widely known that Noruddin and Al-Rayes were were talking about removing Brian after the Sheffield debacle. The pay-off would have been an obstacle. Flowers has blown his lot out of the water now anyway. Chapel A

Agree1 Disagree0

Sacking mcd could be a cultural thing, Italians are more red blooded and erratic than we are . in Italy if you havnt won for 8 games put in rubbish performances got knocked of a cup by a lower team then respond to that by putting in a heartless performance and loose six nil to a team 3rd from bottom of the league you get sacked . he probably thought it would get us on his side not realising that we would think hang on he is a nice guy and will do well with time which is to our great credit . only my opinion though .

Agree1 Disagree0

Good opinion, sounds logical!

Agree1 Disagree0

The performance has been dire for last few weeks, but would you play your herat out not knowing what was going to happen to the club, and bmd had his hands tied with players not wanting to play, no players coming in either. at least last weeks performance shows that stability brings freedom to play. that's what alll this is about, e I e I e I o.

The politics continue - OS with statement from GFH in response to winding up order!

Believable21 Unbelievable1

Just read the statement, not much in it;

reading laterally though, GFH would have to rigorously deny this because if they didn't anyone wanting to buy could pick us off for a few quid and, any investment made thus far by GFH would now be worthless

Just my thoughts

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2014 12:04:10
bye bye Flowers and co, everyone is saying how ruthless Cellino has been over the weekend but I believe he has learnt valuable lessons on how passionate the fans are about the mighty whites and has shown he will LISTEN with his back tracking over the BMD sacking, he has also witnessed the potential this great club has and most of all he has money.
Under Flowers and co the politics will continue, there will be a power struggle with all of them wanting an equal share of profits leaving nothing for team progression we will continue to struggle on limited funds which I for one are fed up with.

Agree1 Disagree0

Is a man who would take his bat and ball home in such a childish manner any better than the Italian?!

Agree0 Disagree0

We are more doomed under the Flowers consortium than under the Cellino buyout. I for one would rather take my chances with the Italians.

GFH showed they only had the money to buy the club and nothing left for development. I think we will find this consortium to be the same.

Haigh has already shown he will do anything he can, not for the club, but to keep control of the club.

Apparently the Italian has invested in his home town team. But I have to say Leeds is a different 'kettle of fish' in a much bigger football league with riches far beyond that that he could achieve in Italy if he was to get Leeds back into the Premier League.

the club WILL not go into administration salah noorudin has said Andrew flowers has (threatened) getting the money back whilst matching cellinos bid is an attempt to win the takeover as if cellino wins the takeover then he will have to dock 4m for example off the 25m gfh get but if they go with david haigh they will get the full 25m cellino won't win the takeover bid he has done way too much if they was about to sell to cellino they wouldn't of met the other consortium plus they will obviously go in favour of haigh if they match the bid

Believable3 Unbelievable24

So what will Mr Flowers do, write off the £4 million pounds? So in effect you are saying according to your figures Mr Flowers and his consorts are paying £29 million for the club, or are we to believe the£4 million will just disapear?Ps Can you yell me where you read Mr Noohrudin's comments on this matter?

Agree1 Disagree0

"Can you yell me where you read Mr Noohrudin's comments on this matter?"

I'd like to see ANY of this guys comments in writing, it seems he has a lot to explain with all his double dealing and apparent lying?

No wonder Flower's consortium dropped their bid after due diligence.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2014 00:20:43
noohrudins has said to the tv the club will not have money problems whilst gfh are at Leeds united on the tv website and what I meant was if they go with cellino then flowers will charge the club the fee but if Haigh's consortium win then he will not do so they would favour Haigh's consortium especially with the way cellino has behaved along with gfh favouring Haigh

Agree0 Disagree0

If GFH are selling 75% and after that they will have 10% who the hell owns 15% of our club. Is that the ground or some thing?

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

They sold 10% to a middle eastern investment bank and 5% to Salah Nooruddin quite a while ago

IMO deal already done with Cellino, just waiting for the FA approval, hence why Flowers has gone on the offensive. Think meeting with other group only as contingency if FA reject Cellino as an owner. After neglect and asset stripping by KB since administration, not much asset value left in the club. What GFH want is someone to throw cash into the club to get back to Prem where their 15% will increase in value - they obviously have more confidence in Cellino doing that than other group. So it would appear Cellino (with all his eccentricities) is our best bet of Prem League return in the near future. Like it or not that's the reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2014 22:23:35
{Ed013's Note - I am seeing very mixed opinions of who the fans would want to buy the club. Please visit the Blogs and Voting polls page and choose between Cellino and the Farnan consortium for who you would prefer to buy Leeds United. Thanks in advance, MOT}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

If it wasn't for the fact we seem to be skint I doubt I'd wanna pick either of them tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that we are skint doesn't mean we HAVE to pick either of them, GFH are resposible for Leeds debts, they only came in to make a fast buck so why should we worry if they are bankrupted for their greed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why should we worry if they go bankrupt?

ITS OUR CLUB your talking about bankrupt omg THINK before you print.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ed, I thought you had brains!
Visit LUST site and you will see 75% want Sport/Leeds together. The other - Italian person -confirmed liar, cheat, abuser of managers etc would make ken seem like Father Christmas!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I must be without brains if I am the person voting 400 times! LUST do not speak for everyone and the poll proves that}

I think the average member of LUST and the average visitor to this rumours site might be a very different animal. Lust don't speak for me and niether does this site.

I think there is a majority on here who want the Italian. Its not suprising seen as the consortiums seem to be a waste of time. Flowers increasingly looks like he's never had the money to carry it off and its becoming frustrating. i'm ready to back Cellino if there's no other choice but it doesn't help me feel right about it.

I wanted BMD to be given the time to build. That means not spitting our dummy out when we are mid table and working towrads promotion next season.

The academy is better, the squad is better, GFH, ticket prices are all better, Better than Bates and Warnock.

Unfortunately it looks like we need cash more than we need Haigh and BMD.

Rumours about that the players might not get paid this month? Are things that bad?

Believable5 Unbelievable17

{Ed013's Note - They have been paid}

Rumours were that the players were paid but the rest of the staff were not. Looks like this is where the £1.5m we borrowed off Cellino last week went.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a personal friend of one of the players and HE HAS BEEN paid ontime everytime, as far as he knows ALL the players have been paid as normal every month.

Cellino has passed the F.A test.
GFH are desperate for the deal to go through as they know he has the "Instant" cash to pay for the club & they just want rid of LUFC.
There are obviously a lot of large payments due & GFH are guilty of either missing them (very likely ken covered them up) or thought they would have sold up far before now and are cutting their loses.
Big problem now is Andy Flowers.
It's now a legal race between sold or Administration.
No wonder flamingoland pulled out. This is far too much of rollercoaster ride for them to handle.

Believable11 Unbelievable15

Hope so - Cellino in please, everyone who thinks it should be a consortium should be shot.

Do you mean the Football League test? I have given up hope of this being done. And I certainly do not like Flowers. He comes across as even more of a loose cannon than Cellino.

Let's get on with it. The consortium is very flakey. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

So much for these good honest local people then ha ha, his sponsorship deal was probably all part of this dodgy busiess (and people say cellino is bad ha)
not to worry though cellino will pay it wats couple million when uve just spend 25 + he would have been informed of this debt

please think before you type we won't go into administration for that kind of money

More Twaddle - the FL (note FL not FA!) have still to make their decision, so get your facts right. Talks are still ongoing tonight according to local media.

Agree0 Disagree0

I say give the Italian a go! After the 10 years we've had do we not deserve some good time. Football is about cash these days and fame. GFH have done nothing over the last 12 months other than rid bates. Thanks. But these other muppets need to leave our club alone. And that includes DH. Ask yourself, what do you want and what does the club need? Someone with CASH who wants to spend and who's not after a quick return for their investment.

Agree1 Disagree1

Its very interesting. consortium that can suddenly front up 25million, but probably no decent money to invest.how could they with 5 maybe 6 investors who all want a return. although would flowers then not request payment of his 1.7million?. holding tactic I appreciate. its his investment. but certainly no money available for er and ta. I just wish this last weekend cellino hadnt been so stupid as to upset fans with his ridiculous antics otherwise i'd have gone with him. I agree how many of us havnt done a shady deal at some point. ?. if he could show some true respect and support for the club then I really believe we can make the big step. I guess we all want that 'leeds family' to stay intact but become a global product and success. its difficult to achieve though. abromovich seems to have learnt his lesson though with bringing back mourinho who I think will be at chelski forever now. cellino has worked wonders with cagliari. a club with no stadium playing miles away from home, with a local following of 8000 at most. never ever will attract the top players.lufc with a bright future would attract the very best. let's be honest. if lufc as a club had the ambition for any player and we had the money who would you choose to play for?. barca, real, chelsea, man utd?. Leeds Utd. enough said. if cellino can show some humility for this great club and city. maybe just maybe. we could achieve greatness again .

Agree0 Disagree0

"GFH are desperate for the deal to go through as they know he has the "Instant" cash to pay for the club & they just want rid of LUFC."

Where is your proof he has cash waiting?

Agree0 Disagree0

"GFH have done nothing over the last 12 months other than rid bates."

So you want another shyster to take over again then?

Go do your homework on Cellino, at least Bates never had any fraud convictions and the previous team he owned are now sitting very pretty thank you? Where is Cellino's team and what have they ever achieved?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates NO fraud convictions your right but he's cute and NOT been caught yet, oh STILL owns part if not all of our football ground at present.
Id say give Cellino a chance ONLY on the basis he gives BmD 2yrs to turn things around, BmD deserves the chance the way he accounted himself and the way hye wants to build the club.

DO YOU REALLY WANT FESTA IN?

Instant cash fix or gradual, steady growth? Instant fixes with no thought for the future is the British way.

That implies any cash for the club isn't entirely instant to me

Italian newspaper La Gazetta Dello Sport is today reporting a potential collapse of Massimo Cellino’s plan to takeover Leeds United Football Club following a weekend of confusion at Elland Road.

Believable15 Unbelievable12

Nothing in this whatsoever. Completely made up. Just checked out la gazette, nothing in there we didn't already know.

Agree1 Disagree1

Think it was La Gazetta Dello Sport that broke the news that Cellino had bought the club and it was all done and dusted weeks ago, interesting how even as we speak it's still not sorted. Wouldn't even bother google translating any of the news on there anymore!

The English consortium(s) do not have the money to take Leeds forward, we will stagnate. The Italian (his words) has the finance and, love him or hate him, is a football man. We have cried our for years for just this. it may fail but give the man a chance - it might just work. As we are we are going nowhere and will continue to go nowhere with the English consortium(s). Accept mediocrity and lower league football or let's have a go, it will be fun whatever happens! A man that says what he thinks and thinks he is right - sounds like a Yorkshireman already.

Believable26 Unbelievable19

Well said!

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree 100%with you! let him and and see what he can do, he can't be any worse than we've had for the last 10 years and it might just work.

Agree0 Disagree1

Well said, if Flowers and his now 10 man consortium take over we will go nowhere, we need to compete with financial clout the likes of Man city, Chelsea etc. Even Leciester, Qpr and Notts Forest in our own division, are buying success, it has to be Cellino who will invest and take us back to the promised land not a bunch of muppets without a pot to p##s in all wanting their share of any profit

Agree1 Disagree1

Agreed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Yep that makes sense, Flowers showing true colours, can't see why he is any better than the Italian.
We need investment the Italian seems to have it, give it a go for God sake or it will get worst for the club. YEP is also bias in way reporting stuff, they so against him as prob in bed with the "English no money consortium" as for Lust well they don't speak for me, let's hope it goes through before Saturday.

DG the voice of reason?

Agree0 Disagree0

I tend to agree with you all. GFH's tenure of LUFC has been awful. These guys in the consortium don't seem to possess the funds to take us forward; they are there just to try and foil Cellino. The best case scenario? Cellino's Euros and McDermott's footballing sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

I suggest the original poster takes a look at this " football mans" background" in italy he is renowned for bringing good young players through and selling them sound familiar and this billionaire has spent £ 35 million in twenty years at caligary and 36 managers? ITS BATES ALLOVER AGAIN

ppl saying gfh did nothing have some sort of memory loss . gfh came in and turned things around .they got the fans back by reducing the ticket prices which is probably the reason we are in the state we are in today .they tried to keep fans happy by signing a few players, they give mccormack and byram better deals . they could easily decide not to sell leeds and just tighten up and put ticket prices up but they have realized that this would only annoy fans so instead they are selling up and trying to get best deal for them and the fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

Give me the italian anyway

Agree0 Disagree1

He is reacting how any normal person would the consortium together invested 6 million supposedly anyone would want their money and it is now a different group trying to take over

Agree1 Disagree1

Its not 6 mil they loaned the club 1.7mil

if they put money into the running of the club with no deals in place that's unlucky for them

Agree1 Disagree0

I imagine Mr Flowers gave GFH the money in the form of a loan. Most business' would have agreed a plan of repayment. The same day his joint bid to buy LUFC collapses, because he thought he had GFH by the proverbials, he gets a winding up petition against the owners, fully knowing this would affect his BELOVED club?If he was aware club were in agreement to sell said club to Mr Cellino you would have thought he could have agreed a repayment plan.So let's say his bid had worked out, would there have been simular portions against fellow owners if he didn't get his own way.We are well rid if you ask me.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the winding up petition has been done as a tactic to make sure the Italian cannot conclude his deal. Mr Flowers just might have done us a favour using his company in this way. It will just speed up the process as it will have to be paid before the business can change hands. It gives the Flowers consortium time to re-negotiate their deal with GFH before the winding up petition is published in the London Gazette.

Agree0 Disagree1

Unlike ANY of you who have made a comment here, Flowers actually PUT money into Leeds United and has tried to buy GFH out?

When you put your own money into this great club of ours you have a right to criticise him!

He put his money where his mouth is, where's yours?

Agree0 Disagree0

"I think the winding up petition has been done as a tactic to make sure the Italian cannot conclude his deal. Mr Flowers just might have done us a favour using his company in this way."

Amen to that, at least Flowers put his money where his mouth is unlike all the people on this site that just whinge and opinionate at the expense of others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont supporters through attending matches and buying club merchandise put money into this great club?

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here, if you really believe he has put his own money in, you must be bonkers, he is using the company and banks to fund these loans, not 1 pence has come from his pocket, if it has then let it be known flowers. Plus we are the paying public and without us they are nothing, whoever is in charge, we have every right to voice our concern over a supposed fan who is taking his ball back because he hasn't got his own way, even though its not his own ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

He done it so gfh turn their attention to his consortium

Agree0 Disagree0

It gets even worse, Cellino is suing GFH if they don't honour their verbal agreement with him (nothing is in writing) while Flowers is preparing legal action against the FL if they approve Cellino whilst also having issued the winding up order against GFH. You couldn't make it up!

Believable9 Unbelievable5

You forgot if the Football League don't approve Cellino then he may take action against them. The Football League could be sued either way! If the Football League don't approve then Flowers drops both his cases and FL may face challenge from Cellino but would Cellino want to risk having it all dragged through English Courts. I think our Courts would be more inquisitive than Italy's and he knows that.

Just gets better, now if flowers doesn't get to buy us he is issuing a winding up order to get his money back straight away knowing this could mean administration for Leeds, talk about black mail! Tell you what take your ball home you sulky g **t, and this is who you want to run your club, talk about if I can't have it no one can!

It was issued on 29th January, so is already in place. Many view it in the business world as a tactic to force a hand

Get a grip you panickers - no wonder they call it a winding up petition! Its a legitamate stalling tactic to stop a sale whilst further negotiations go on. He's not trying to harm the club he's trying to buy it! Would you trust Celino or GFH? Flowers shows his true colours, he wants to grow up stop acting like a spoilt brat! Everyone should get behind the collinio bid and give him a chance to spend and put us back where we belong. I'm sure I remember Chelsea and City supporters complaining about their new owners, their not moaning now!

Agree0 Disagree1

Hes entittled to have his money back - i'm a Leeds fan but I would my money too ( reported to be £6 mil) - grow up and be realistic

Agree3 Disagree0

It's nothing to do with blackmail or being sulky. flowers pumped money into the club since November only to be shafted from behind by GFH-C! its them who's to blame for all this mess and that seems clear as day to me! They then went and agreed a sale to Cellino only to start talks with another party! I'm slowly starting to turn my head towards the Italian simply because this needs putting to bed as GFH-C take the p***!

Anybody who thinks this 'doesn't affect leeds' is deluded - GFH-C could easily put us in administration as protection against themselves which would leave us 5 points above the relegation zone!

I fear tbh

A winding up petition (WUP) is by far the most serious action that can be taken against your company. So what can be done about it? Often the company has broken any trust the creditor had, payment deals have failed, cheques bounced and generally the directors have not kept their word to pay
if it was a loan GFH might have missed its payments o promised to sell to flowers we don't and won't know the details

Flowers hasn't got leeds at heart at all we don't want this waste of space let's see what this Cellini will bring I'd rather him blow his millions trying to improve leeds united then any other club!

LUST need to get a grip of reallity. If Cellino doesn't take Leeds over then it'll be championship football at best for the rest of our lives because, in my opinion, all the other supposed consortiums are publicity seeking and nothing else. So what if Cellino has got a chequered past, he's also got bags of cash and has already said he's going to spend plenty. I say give Cellino a chance and if he doesn't come up to expectation then do what I will be doing if he doesn't which is stop going

All convictions spent, FA have to accept Rehab of Offenders Act, they can't operate outside of it. Current investigation, premise is innocent until proven guilty therfore in legal parlance not admissable, therefore Mr C home amd dry legally, FA would find themsleves in a difficult legal position if they declined. GFH could go back on the 'agreement' but I guess lawyers might have something to say about this, it could cost them a significant sum, that's if there is such an agreement in place, all indications are that there is.

What have most of the premier clubs got in common? -megarich owners who could be termed( dodgy ).cellino promises to buy back elland road and fund leeds to the premiership .no consortium has promised that, they can only buy the club with stage payments!i don't think the italian's club in sardinia can be compaired to leeds their gates are less than 10,000 and that's in serie A he has propped them up for twenty years .that to me sounds like commitment, not someone after profit .before abramovitch, chelsea had bates remember!

I've seen all the rumours that it looks clear that Cellino will be granted permission to take over. Also a few rumours that 2 more young lads from the Italian league coming this week on loan.

My biggest worry is that if this guy has been at caligari for 20 odd years AND it's his hometown club, is it not worrying that there not on par with the top European clubs by now and never have been since his reign? Apparently he's got billions according to some people - he's hardly thrashed it around at the club he supports so why would he do it at Leeds? It makes me wonder why he feels the need to produce 'false account figures' if he's a billionaire!?!

I'm not fighting his corner but, Cagliari were Serie C when he started, now fairly solid serie A. He has spent a fair amount of dosh, but the managers isn't place have not used it to wisely. They have had some players go through Cagliari to bigger clubs though as they weren't progressing so I see your concerns

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he does takeover, at least has a lot of money, (which he will spend on players) a passion for football, and most importantly, he actually knows how to run a club, since he has been doing it for 20 odd years. give

Agree0 Disagree0

Cagliari, is a small club in Italy, them being in Serie A, is the equivelant of Leyton Orient being in the Premiership.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea I thought that as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here.

Whilst I did not realise that caligari were a seria c side when he took over and will give him his credit there, I don't buy the fact that he fully knows how to run a football club. The guy has gone through nearly and average of 2 managers per calender year in his reign - that's either 2 managerial mistakes per year or just a ruthless attitude and if he has risen them 2 leagues to a stable seria a side why the need to weird the axe so much?

I agree with BMD when he said leeds is a supporters club and you need to grasp the passion of what Leeds UNITED actually means to the fans. 38 different managers or however many there has been sacked doesn't fill me with a 'united' optimistic attitude.

I hope I'm wrong and will back hhim with support if he comes in.

Scot
MOT!

Agree0 Disagree1

Well ill be honest, I hope he does takeover, yes he's a questionable character, but he has a hell of a lot more money than this consortium, sure they might be able to buy the club, with 7 mil or whatever the price was, but after that? general daily running, players wages, 1m + annually, good enough players for a promotion push and buying back Elland road, I just don't think their pockets are deep enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be on par with the top european sides in 20 years or ever would be impossible for a team like Calgieri. You would never get top players to go to Calgieri.Plus top European sides keep moving forward so to catch them up would be near impossible. As there is only so much money you can throw at a football club. The trick is to start with a better club, so not as far to go, to get to the top.

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely want him to take over
lust say 75% of their 9000 membership don't want him, so, that's 6750 people saying no .
Please LUST don't screw this up .

Agree0 Disagree0

He's seen a lot of attempts to build a new stadium fall apart and gotten fed up with the corrupt nature of the Italian game but, he is Italian Dirigente so will always be completely unpredictable and probably make decisions on a whim. Worth noting that Calgiari supporters really like him.

Agree0 Disagree0

"I completely want him to take over

But then again 75% of lufc don't like LUST

Agree0 Disagree0

An excellent post I concur with your views. It doesn't take a lot of research to see that he has not ploughed his money into his 'beloved' Cagliari.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who said that it would be impossible to make Caligari a top european club in 20 years.so what about when City we in the 3rd tier not so long ago?! Even prior to the last 5 years or so City were never a HUGE club whilst in the premier league – i'd hardly called players like Corradi, Vassell, Claudio Reyna, Michael Ball and Ben Thatcher world class but now look at them. If this guy had as much as the reports say (Man City Money), or if he was as ambitious as the city owner then Caligari would be on the map and a bigger name for me!?

Again I would give the guy my backing in support but only time will Tell. Having said that this TO needs sorting sooner the better. I can't help but think that once again we are going through a potential takeover right at the end of the transfer window.I wonder why?

Scot
MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's done a great job at calgari kept them in top division only get 8000 fans home games and I guess they won't of got hardly any fans last season when they had to play home games few hundred miles away due to stadium closed

Agree0 Disagree0

That was partly my point, Man City like Leeds may have been in the 3 rd tier of football but with the right backing as City now have, potential to be a major player, don't think Calgieri ever will, similar to a York City.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man city had terrific crowds even in the third tier, so did leeds .the sardinian side can muster less than 10,000 even in serie A .no comparison

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't take much research to see he hasn't ploughed much money into Calgeiri?Well the man must be a genius, to keep a team averaging 8,000 gates, in the top division for 20 years .
