Leeds looking at a double swoop for goalkeeper Tommy Lee and centre midfielder Jimmy Ryan both from Chesterfield. Both decent, Ryan in particular played really well at Elland Road earlier this season.

Believable18 Unbelievable45

Just what we need, more lower league unproven players. League 1 here we come if we do!

Agree2 Disagree3

No disrespect to these players but they are not the quality experienced players we desperately need at this time. The board and the manager should understand this.

Graham Dorrans
Kenwyne Jones or Le Fondre,
Moussa (Coventry)
Jordan Ibe (Liverpool)
Nathan Ellington
Zaha
Leon Britton
Birdcutt

Max Gradel is too big a risk, he hasn't had a lot of game time and David Bentley - why has no one else signed him? Maybe he is trouble and doesn't apply himself in Terms of effort? IMO

Any of the above on a permanent or a loan will do Mr Haigh & Mr Patel, these are the standard of players we should be aiming to bring to Leeds United.

Agree1 Disagree0

Nathan Ellington?! are you mad?

Agree3 Disagree0

You ask for quality and experience then say Ibe, Ellington, Moussa and Zaha?

Agree2 Disagree0

Doesn't matter where they're from as long as they have the potential

Agree1 Disagree1

Maybe go after Tommy Lee, but I had a look at Jimmy Ryan and he's 25 and hasn't scored a goal this season. Is he really going to improve us? The Chesterfield player to go after is Tendayi Darikwa.

Mathew Etherington - forgive Nathan Ellington mistake, Moussa does very well for Coventry, he can pass, tackle, shoot, and score goals, sounds like he does what our midfield are not at the moment so don't knock.
Wilfred Zaha, I heard somewhere he is pretty talented .

Yes, I can be pretty mad!

Keep happy :)

Agree0 Disagree0

That chesterfield keeper I saw earlier in thr yr at Newport county too good for that league would be great back up keeper

Believable12 Unbelievable81

Kenny was only player to actually turn up

Agree5 Disagree1

Jenny was brilliant stopped us losing about 5-0

Agree3 Disagree2

Would be nice 2 quality players. Leeds also looking at matt Ritchie from Bournemouth. Apparently diouf and 300k going other way

Heard that we have enquired about le Fondre and Sharp, but will only go for one as we are still in the running for Wells, pretty obvious from the last few games that we need to get rid of the older strikers (hunt, varney etc) and bring in those targets. Personally, I think if Huddersfield get Wells we should go for Vaughan who has proved he can score in this division with a bottom half team.

Also, McDermott looking for a creative midfielder to compliment the two or three defensive midfielders we already have, Mark Davies and/or Chris Eagles from Bolton might be a good shout as they would be available at a cut price because of their financial problems. Graham Dorrans on a loan maybe.

Finally, we need to add wingers, and i've heard we are after Gnabry on loan and I think Stewart is pretty much complete. Gradel I think is a very clim chance but I think Jerome Thomas would be decent and he made a difference for us last season on loan.

Definitely need to improve and add to the squad and get rid of the dead wood because to be brutally honest its clear to everyone that some of our players aren't good enough to be part of a promotion chasing team.

Believable34 Unbelievable11

Sorry but after the first two games Thomas was dire!

LUFC KEK

Agree2 Disagree1

After gnabry's performance today against spurs I would very much doubt wenger would let him go

I been saying for weeks, jay Emanuel Thomas

i personally would like to see chris eagles, he has vision and skill both on and off the ball, and if needed he can play on either wing and at left back or right back if really needed good all-rounder

Agree2 Disagree0

Read your article again?
You get rid of old strikers and yet you go on to name replacements who are NEARLY the same age?

Gradel taken massive pay cut to join leeds next week! Trusted source that's usually 99% right!

Believable21 Unbelievable68

God I hope so as we are in the deep stuff. It keeps going on and on. Empty promises with owners that do we really trust?

we need 6 or 7 premier players to add to our 3 or 4 quality players. But do we realistically see us spending this amount of cash.

why buy players that are in league 1 or players that not playing in their respective premiership teams.

we need the likes of gradel or QUALITY players, not players like Thomas and Stewart.

Resigned to another year in the Championship followed by a number of repeat mistakes, poor management and many more false dawns.

Agree2 Disagree2

Takin massive pay cut to join us. Get real!

Agree2 Disagree1

The bloke only starts tweeting about leeds when he is out of favour at st eerie none the fact there head coach has guaranteed him game time now he now stated that he won't be joining leeds anytime soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Were not in the deep stuff. We won't go down and Gradel will not be coming! No way we can afford him and BMAC has already said this, get over it. We are a work in progresss

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Jan 2014 13:41:12
99% certain, I would love it, but with the signing of Cameron Stewart imminent, I think you can expect that we will continue signing average Championship players and expect to finish outside the play offs once again.

Looks like Wells is off to Udders

Believable27 Unbelievable55

For £3m, they can have him. Why not give Walters a chance if we want a young, pacy striker?

Agree3 Disagree1

£3m seems bit much. Huddersfield taking huge risk. How do they manage these deals with their limited income other than owner throwing money in? If they carry on like that will end up with LUFC under Peter Ridsdale situation if FFP doesn't eventually catch up with them!

Agree1 Disagree0

Who?.

Agree1 Disagree0

He will go to QPR let's be honest who can compete with them in this league for money?

Agree3 Disagree1

04 Jan 2014 18:47:19
just aswell we need a full team lookin at that crap against Rochdale today!!

Agree4 Disagree0

We're better off looking abroad (like Holland, Bundesliga 2, Denmark, Spain 2nd Div etc.) for players with better technique and who are much cheaper. We seem to always look in the lower leagues for players now. We need some pace and some players who can pass.

Agree2 Disagree0

We could always look into Europe for players, like Denmark, Holland, Germany, Portugal etc. where the technique, passing and creativity will be better and most likely, the players will be cheaper. I don't think looking to League 1/2 will improve the squad at all.

Agree3 Disagree0

The other wells news is that ssn took more bets on him going to huddersfield nothing that they launched a bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Stewart in line up or bench for Hull City today.

Believable33 Unbelievable2

I don't think he's been on a hull team sheet for 2 years has he?

Agree2 Disagree0

After yet another embarrassing and Cup exit defeat to Rochdale, it is seriously time to re - shuffle the pack and have a major clear out and start a fresh, and if that includes the manager so be it, we have to get a better class of player in, rather than players that no one else want or have heard of ( Murphy, Austin, Varney, Brown, Tonge, Peltier, Lees, Pierce, White, Pugh, Diouf, Wootton, Drury, Norris, Hunt, Green, Hall, etc, etc, the list goes on)how the hell did these players ever get to pull the white shirt on? HOW? and if everybody is truthful was you excited when any of these signed? and if so WHY? This is LEEDS UNITED for heavens sake, let me say it again LEEDS UNITED.

Agree5 Disagree3

04 Jan 2014 19:07:21
Who are we, who are we? Being LEEDS UNITED means now't at the moment. We are an average championship side who have average and some poor players. Reason being we have NO MONEY. Unless what you hear in the press, is about to change! We would all like the messi's of this world to be playing for our beloved, and playing in Rome every other week but it's not goIng to happen for a few years. We need stability and let's hope BMD is the first manager for a while to get transfer funds to spend. and significant at that. So it can make the difference to the quality of the team. Then let's judge the manager and the owners. Unfortunately money talks these days and we don't have any, at the moment.
Sad be true. Let's all hope the news soon and expected moves us into the same direction as some of the other teams with some cash. Eg Leicester, Forrests etc. Keep the faith and nothing lasts forever. Even though for us it feels a life time. MOT

Leeds takeover to be announced soon by Multi Millionaire Business Man Peter Virdee. check out his twitter & David Haigh's twitter.

Multi billionaire if it is the same Peter Virdee I am aware of

Looks as though Cameron Stewart is a go-er then.

I've asked around, as I know a couple of Charlton fans down here, they said he shows glimpses of quality but on the whole seems to take too long to get into a game.

I'm hoping B'Mac can get the best out of him, and I'm more than willing to at least give him a chance, but if B'Mac doesn't get the best out of him we could end up with just another average midfielder, that said he is still very young so improvement is also to be expected.

Cameron Stewart to sign for Leeds once formalities are completed. Likely to be Monday. Also Leeds have spoke to Kevin Phillips and Adam le Fondre with the latter more likely due to Phillips stating he wants to stay in the midlands. Leeds could also take free agent Petric on trial following his release from West Ham. MOT12

Believable23 Unbelievable7

Petric would be good

The goal keeper that is supposedly being brought in to replace paddy kenny is Wayne Hennessy of wolves.

Believable12 Unbelievable35

He refused to play for Wolves today in the cup so he is going somewhere but whether it's Leeds is debatable

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed013's Note - Crystal Palace}

Would be a good signing however its an easy rumour to suggest

Agree1 Disagree0

Can't see it tbh BMD seems dead set on Kenny hasn't mentioned a replacement keeper whatsoever think Kenny's been one of our top players this season

I use to try post things every week as I was a boot boy at leeds and knew most info. I called beecho going, roses new contract, wooton signing and murphy, ross is next to go my mate said who's still there to either cardiff or palace. Bet this doesn't get posted either!

Believable13 Unbelievable44

Why would he want to go to either of these clubs? They will both be back in the championship next season

I know this is true too mate also my mates Courtney's cousine and she told her they might have to move but didn't say where

Takeover confirmed for Jan 28th . so then the owners can announce that summer is coming and we'll do our business then. However, in April they'll announce that we need new investors to take us to the next level and they'll take us over around September time ready for January.

Agree2 Disagree2

Is there anything to suggest this take over will result in any more investment than the current tight wads! Or are they just passing the club around to make a few quid

Stewart looks likely to sign (cant say its a signing that excites me), but cannot see us paying £2million for Wells, who would not be an instant starter.

Varney, Hunt, Diouf, Norris, Lees, Peltier, Brown, & Tonge for WELLS! lol

Believable9 Unbelievable37

Will he not be at spotlands tomorrow afternoon as lufc manager?!

Maybe the meeting is in Rochdale after the game, apparently the Cowboy Inn is a regular haunt for agents to do business

He stated on national radio last night that he doesn't see this happening and will not sign players on sentiment
