I posted about the Albrighton deal a few weeks ago and it's picking up pace now. Informed from my source in the Villa camp that Albrighton had a meeting with Paul Lambert and asked what his role would be and Albrighton wants to prove himself out on loan after this meeting.

Also heard that Villa have made very early stage enquiries about Tom Lees, but don't know the outcome of that.

Believable14 Unbelievable51

Looking promising until you mentioned lees, now I know its BS

Agree3 Disagree0

Villa wouldn't Lees, not prem standard

Agree1 Disagree0

Lees is prem standard, ashley westwood is and he's worse so yes lees is prem standard but leeds wnt sell him

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees was our worst central defender last year but he is a constant member of the u21 squad so maybe someone has seen some potential in him

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees was far from our worst cb lol pearce and peltier were the worst by a clear mile. lees was our best u fool

Chris Forrester currently playing for St Pats in the Irish league has been heavily linked with Leeds over the past few days. After tonight's match Forrester has 7 days until his next game with St Pats. McDermott has scouted him a number of times and highly rates him. Things could heat up in the next seven days.

Believable45 Unbelievable12

Not needed 2 weak 4 this league

Agree3 Disagree1

I hope we get this boy, have u seen his chip goal messi style best chip I've ever seen

Agree0 Disagree0

To above poster, he is the best player in league of Ireland by far, and may I just point out previous players who were not sighted as the best in league of Ireland when they moved
Kevin Doyle
Shane long
Noel hunt
Seams Coleman
Just to name a few so he is worth more of a punt than most

Liverpool fan coming with peace! Premier league misses your fans!

Anyways I've heard that Leeds are looking to loan our highly-rated winger/creative midfielder, Suso as McDermott wants more creativity and width. He is a top, top quality player with a very bright future. Liverpool want to loan him for development instead of leaving him in the U21's.

Believable53 Unbelievable19

Would be great. An exciting talent

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah I know of him, great potential, would take him in a heartbeat, would prefer to take sterling, but I think you will probably use him this coming season. I think the same about your fans, always filled south stand at elland road in past, and always keep singing all game (just like us) can't wait to have a chanting competition with you both at anfield and elland road! you just don't get that in championship from other fans!

Agree3 Disagree0

Likewise lot of respect for liverpool fc and its fans, anyone who hates as much as us is ok by me, as for suso not the first time his name as cropped up in recent weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be amazing, would he really be dropping to the champ though?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bless ya. Keep our seats warm, be there soon.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for that bud, beats the hell out of guys coming on here and slagging us off, hope we can loan him then, cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we take Sterling instead?

Agree0 Disagree0

Every time you lads are on Sky I always have a sneaky watch, still one of the best fans in Britain! Warnock ruined you a bit (more). McDermott will be good for you!
I believe Rodgers prefers him to go to the Championship so that he knows the physical side more, but he may want to stay and take Downing's place as he's looking to be sold! (Thank God)
Good luck next season, we'll all keep on singing because we're REAL fans!
BATES OUT! MOTD! YNWA!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see this or the likes of Sterling. I'm happy to see that a lot of the people we are linked with are young and exciting prospects. Looking forward to a season of decent football at long last! Thanks for the info, hopefully it won't be too long before we grace the Premiership again. Wakey White

Leeds to sign Irish Under 21 International Chris Forrester before the weekend.

Currently plays for St Pats in the Irish League. fee unknown.

Very skilful player, winger with a lot of potential.

Believable36 Unbelievable12

£350k fee was agreed last week, contract has been sorted, just waiting for official confirmation. more than likely be Saturday morning prior to Farsley.

Leeds United shown intrest in Altrincham Striker Damian Reeves 27years old, Scored 41 goals in 50 games last season and 44 goals in 42 games in 2011/12.

Believable9 Unbelievable47

He hasn't look on soccerbase and it says since he joined in 2010 he has scored 32 in 95 with a ratio of 0. 27 per game

Agree3 Disagree1

Didn't he used to be at Leeds when he was youngster, I think I read that somewhere?

Agree4 Disagree1

No way, I saw him play for Guiseley on loan a couple of years ago!

Agree3 Disagree1

Altrincham Andrew
Seen him play a few times last season when
SuperLeeds not playing. Good player but we need a
proven striker not another with potential.
Sure that number 9 shirt is earmarked for
someone proven.

Agree2 Disagree1

"He hasn't look on soccerbase and it says since he joined in 2010 he has scored 32 in 95 with a ratio of 0. 27 per game"

According to the Altrincham website he scored 36 league last season so perhaps soccerbase is a little bit inaccurate.

Agree0 Disagree0

He broke his leg as a youth player & was later released, He was the real deal as a schoolboy, but maybe his leg hindered him from stardom.

bazza

Agree0 Disagree0

Damo comes from donny & broke his leg playing for lufc youth team. he later was released & went through non league including guisley, was a good schoolboy player. hope he makes it back. me wwfc fan in peace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Soccerbase is wrong look at Altrincham offical website 41 goals last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Already got our strikers sorted we don't need more

Tommy Rowe is in nandoos in white rose. Hopefully he has been down to Thorpe arch. He was with a older man did not look like a agent as he was wearing jeans

Believable39 Unbelievable35

04 Jul 2013 15:06:13
I thought I saw him too. There was loads of people trying to get photos ect but was not sure who it was

Agree12 Disagree10

Doesnt look like an agent because he was wearing jeans is the dumbest thing I've read here.

Crmd

Agree3 Disagree3

Older man in jeans. got to be his sugar daddy then. obviously!ha

Agree3 Disagree2

Its illegal for agents to wear jeans in the white rose you know.

Agree3 Disagree2

This guy? Thomas ('Tommy') Rowe DFC (born Poole 13 August 1913, died 9 May 2006) was a member of the Portsmouth team that beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 in the 1939 FA Cup Final.
Rowe died on 9 May 2006, aged 92. He was the last surviving member of Pompey's cup-winning side.

A bit old even for Warnock. Plus being dead could be a problem too.

Agree1 Disagree3

Tommy rowe isn't a big name, so why would folk behave like he was BECKHAM, WHERE ARE THE PICS?

Agree1 Disagree2

It's official, agents don't wear jeans. By the way that's a FACT

Agree1 Disagree1

Agents wear jeans!

I was at TA for the player sponsor day and Rossco's agent rocked up wearing jeans, shirt and a sport jacket

Agree0 Disagree1

The agent was wearing jeans so that no-one would believe he was an agent. they're really clever people. Unfortunately, they went to Nandos, which proves that Tommy Rowe is a footballer and so their cover was blown.

Diouf is off to America

Believable23 Unbelievable50

Be for the best

Agree17 Disagree24

How would it be for the best? he was one of our best players last season.

Agree24 Disagree7

Best for who? Diouf is a real talent and he hasn't put a foot wrong since joining Leeds.

Agree20 Disagree6

Does his contract run out or will we get a fee?

Agree3 Disagree6

Complete rubbish, I dnt rate him atall but no american team will want him

Agree5 Disagree11

Nah. Reported to be at TA with slight knock - doubtful for Farsley on Saturday, but travelling with squad to Slovenia.

Agree4 Disagree1

Diouf was far and away one of our best players last season. persons think unless someone is Messi they don't rate em! Get a grip!

Agree17 Disagree3

Diouf is so bad, he offers nothing atall. skill? not once have I seen him do any kinda skill just slug around like a mardy kid

Agree1 Disagree1

He's a person get rid talented or not

Agree0 Disagree0

'Slight knock' he needs to stop those 6am starts if we're to get promoted!

No good with only an hours kip before training!

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 20:18:36
I really don't get all this Diouf knocking. The guy is by far and away the most technically gifted player in our squad. Under Brian we could see him make a major contribution this season as he will be playing in a team that don't do hoofball. MOT.

Agree1 Disagree0

After the brum game mcd said he wants everyone living in the local area, I think he lives in Bolton. he was linked with a move down south and someone on this site said he wouldn't go because he won't leave his home in Bolton. please correct me if I am wrong, I could be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly can't of watched any games then if you think that very rarely gives the ball away and is perfect at killing time

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 22:03:43
Best touch/technique on the pitch every time I saw him. Sure he has not got much pace but ability wise, he is very good at this level and should be more effective with better quality around him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes poor end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 23:08:38
some need to get real he was by far 1 of the stand outs in what was a crap season

Agree0 Disagree0

How can someone be ' by far and away ONE of our best players?

Agree0 Disagree0

How can anyone day Diouf was poor. He may be slow but he has enough ability to make up for it.
He definitely helped make Byram the player he is today, and had a hand in many of our goals last season. Not sure how he'll fit into the team next season

Agree0 Disagree0

If mcdermott had any brains diouf will b sold :) offers nothing but greed with a few neat passes very overated player. byram has had no help from diouf lol byram is talented diouf is past it. diouf and austin need 2 b kicked out they are dragging leeds down

Agree0 Disagree0

Give austin a chance. takes time to come back from a broken leg. unfortunately for us, they never seem to come back as good

McDermot looking at Sheffield United player Kevin McDonald. My mate whos a blade says he's creative, can play on either wing, or central either attacking or defensive.

Believable14 Unbelievable39

Not true

Agree7 Disagree4

We got murphy a very creative midfielder I think we could now do with a holder that everything goes through, mabye frimpong on loan someone in that mould to help austin do a job.

Agree4 Disagree5

Well I would be having words with your mate doesn't play out wind he is a central midfielder who is creative but needs to have someone making runs for him or you won't go forward and can play defensive but needs someone to do that for him like brown who will do the work for him.

He needs time on the ball is confident so would be a good buy if you have the right players to match his game.

I know this because I am a blade and was just telling you before you all start with what you doing on our rumours page.

Agree2 Disagree0

Circulating on blunts rumour pages too. Never know, might be alright

Rumour doing the rounds that Villa have accepted two nominal bids for Shay Given from unnamed championship clubs, could we be one of them? not sure if BMD is after a keeper? MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable28

I hope he is after a keep as that's the weak link we have at the moment. Kenny no good

Agree12 Disagree18

We have 2 fine goalkeepers. We have 0 wingers. I think wingers is more the weaklink position.

Agree17 Disagree3

I like kenny and think he's the second best keeper we've had since we've been relegated from the premier league second to schemicle (spelling?)

Agree6 Disagree4

Kenny was one of our best last season. without him we would most likely b in division 1 so no need 2 replace thanks and given is terrible now

Agree11 Disagree4

Not the same goalkeeper he used to be

Agree8 Disagree1

He's not the greatest no but he's a good keeper. One of two good keepers we have. Like the guy said, it's all about priorities; at least one good wide player and a solid central defender are the priorities for us. Just because we've made one million pound signing, it doesn't mean we have the money to improve every position if we already have a capable player in that position.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcarthy and ashdown do for me, Kenny can do one, go drive warnockys tractor

Agree0 Disagree0

King kennys top keeper. we need a winger plus a solid center half to partner young tom lees. mcD is in talks to sign rowe from peterboro. deal is very close.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given were a good keeper for many years, but best days long gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenny will b staying and rightly so. without him we would b in league 1 probs so he will once again b our number 1 gk, ashdown is ok but if any goalkeeper leaves it will b ashdown

Beckford's deal at Bolton taking a long time to get over the line. BMcD's late entry is being held up by funds that are not available until tomorrow and hopefully he will be back to ER. Strike force sorted.

Believable34 Unbelievable44

Not going to happen, get over him.

Agree31 Disagree13

Stop all this beckford talk, more chance of yeboah lining up for us

Agree27 Disagree14

Hes not good enough to play 4 leeds again lower league player

Agree21 Disagree16

Beckford has failed since leaving us and is unproven in the championship so sorry but there is no need 4 sulky beckford when we already have diouf who is sulky so no no no thanks

Agree19 Disagree17

Diouf's gone

Agree7 Disagree19

Once Beckford was on the pitch, we always had a chance of scoring. Have missed the excitement caused by his goals.

Agree15 Disagree3

No loss if Diouf gone - loss count of the number of free kicks and corners that were completely wasted. His crossing of the ball was also wasteful. Was excellent at holding up the ball but overall, no loss

Agree6 Disagree19

Dioufs' gone where?

Agree0 Disagree1

First off, I do feel people need to get over him, as he was once our player but no real rumours that he will be again so we should be able to leave it now, however I disagree massively with the negative talk about Beckford, how on earth has he failed since leaving us? Scored 2 goals in 3 starts for Everton, yes he wasn't played much, but how can he produce from the bench, he also scored 8 in 14 starts for Udders last season, same division as us, which is a better goal scoring ratio than our strikers, Leicester is the only place he never really got going, the rest he managed to do what a striker does and that's score goals, all this talk of not being good enough is nonsense, you weren't saying that when he was banging in 20+ goals a season for us, oh no, back then he was good enough for the Premier League, now because he don't play for us and he left in not such flattering terms he is rubbish. do me a favour.

MOT SussexLeeds

Agree20 Disagree6

Who cares!! he ain't that good. if you all remember, he doesn't pass, moans worse than my missus and misses a boat load of chances

lets get some footballers in the team

Agree6 Disagree10

I'm sorry but all this talk about diouf. the amount of games last season where he was easily our best player, showed he has quality when on the ball, he would be a big loss.

Agree12 Disagree4

Totally agree with the 9th poster. He scored 10 goals for Everton in total despite not having much game time, including one vs Chelsea where he ran from box to box through 5/6 Chelsea players! One goal doesn't make him a star I know, at Leicester he suffered with injury all season, then he got his shooting boots back on with Huddersfield. For me, he still has that spark that can turn a game.

Some players find that they are more comfortable at one club than any other, Beckford could be that kinda guy!

However, I feel that BMD is looking for something a little different in the way he is setting the team up. I'm happy for Beckford to come in, as I am for all new signings (whether they have played for Leeds before or not) because it shows the manager has a plan, and I am happy to support him in whatever he does. Because I am a LEEDS SUPPORTER!

Also, to the tenth poster. You and I are obviously hearing very different moans from your missus!!

Agree7 Disagree1

Beckford is the past. He scored a lo of goals for us in League 1, hit the winner against and got the goal that got us promoted, then did one. He was lazy, and didn't want to stay because he wanted more money. He can't cut it in the PL or the Championship. Time to move on. Brid White

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jul 2013 09:33:53
As someone has recently said, talk down in the midlands is that Leeds will meet Leicester's asking price for Morgan, however he is reluctant to leave the area although there is also talk of significant bonuses to be offered should we gain promotion as MCD is reluctant to throw money around on wages and leave us lumbered!

Also strong talk of Burke joining but Clarke not too keen on losing Burke if Redmond leaves so MCD trying to get the deal pushed through before any deal for Redmond can be done with a Prem side which could potentially scupper our move for Burke.

Believable18 Unbelievable10

Im sorry but morgan is well out of our league, he got voted the best cb in the championship last season and we just dnt have a chance with him as he likes the midlands aka forest and foxes if anywhere he will prob go derby more chance

Agree3 Disagree0

Leicester have no asking price for morgan as he's not for sale and is signing a new contract with us

Agree0 Disagree6

Read elsewhere forest were intrested in re-signing morgan.

Phil Hay saying there may be a director of football type role now Williams has left, Gary McAllister?

Believable20 Unbelievable9

Maybe Matteo?

Agree8 Disagree10

Hopefully the post will not be filled. I have a feeling BMcD is more than capable on his own. PK

Agree10 Disagree2

BMD is in favour of a Director of football, he had Nicky Hammond as his director of football at Readng.

The role of DOF often has been seen as a failure in the UK but that is mainly due to the fact that the DOF is harboring a desire to be the manager, and/or the manager didn't want a didn't want some one sat above him interfering.

However the DOF works all over the world especially when the manager you have a manager that is effectively hiring his own director of football & setting the parameters that they work to.

Agree3 Disagree1

A big job for one man. No reason we couldn't have Gary Mac in there offering a bit of nous and some excellent contacts

Agree4 Disagree2

Totally agree with the 3rd poster. Let BMD bring in his own back room staff etc he's the man in charge he's the man to take us forward in this totally new era for LUFC! Leave old players as old, it hasn't really worked in the part has it! So here's to the NEW future the NEW manager The NEW team (he's building) the NEW regime the NEW look elland rd!:-)

Agree8 Disagree0

Pretty sure Gary Mac could work well with anyone and this would simply be a strategic post, not an operational one.
The point of it is to simply add a footballing check/balance above the manager (which is a good thing in the case of some boards who know naff all about football). Would rather have Gary Mac in there than Joe Kinnear who Newcastle have gone for. Dennis Wise followed by Joe Kinnear. You have to wonder what Mike Ashely's been smoking to come up with those master plans.
