I posted about the Albrighton deal a few weeks ago and it's picking up pace now. Informed from my source in the Villa camp that Albrighton had a meeting with Paul Lambert and asked what his role would be and Albrighton wants to prove himself out on loan after this meeting.

Also heard that Villa have made very early stage enquiries about Tom Lees, but don't know the outcome of that.

Looking promising until you mentioned lees, now I know its BS

Lees is prem standard, ashley westwood is and he's worse so yes lees is prem standard but leeds wnt sell him

Lees was our worst central defender last year but he is a constant member of the u21 squad so maybe someone has seen some potential in him

Matt Mills loan to be agreed ahead of trip to Slovenia. Jason Pearce on loan to Sheffield United to cover Mills wages.

Pearces wages ( beleived to be 5K a week ) will hardly cover Mills wages.

Liverpool fan coming with peace! Premier league misses your fans!

Anyways I've heard that Leeds are looking to loan our highly-rated winger/creative midfielder, Suso as McDermott wants more creativity and width. He is a top, top quality player with a very bright future. Liverpool want to loan him for development instead of leaving him in the U21's.

Yeah I know of him, great potential, would take him in a heartbeat, would prefer to take sterling, but I think you will probably use him this coming season. I think the same about your fans, always filled south stand at elland road in past, and always keep singing all game (just like us) can't wait to have a chanting competition with you both at anfield and elland road! you just don't get that in championship from other fans!

Likewise lot of respect for liverpool fc and its fans, anyone who hates as much as us is ok by me, as for suso not the first time his name as cropped up in recent weeks.

I believe Rodgers prefers him to go to the Championship so that he knows the physical side more, but he may want to stay and take Downing's place as he's looking to be sold! (Thank God)

He hasn't look on soccerbase and it says since he joined in 2010 he has scored 32 in 95 with a ratio of 0. 27 per game

According to the Altrincham website he scored 36 league last season so perhaps soccerbase is a little bit inaccurate.

He broke his leg as a youth player & was later released, He was the real deal as a schoolboy, but maybe his leg hindered him from stardom.

Damo comes from donny & broke his leg playing for lufc youth team. he later was released & went through non league including guisley, was a good schoolboy player. hope he makes it back. me wwfc fan in peace.

Best for who? Diouf is a real talent and he hasn't put a foot wrong since joining Leeds.

Nah. Reported to be at TA with slight knock - doubtful for Farsley on Saturday, but travelling with squad to Slovenia.

I really don't get all this Diouf knocking. The guy is by far and away the most technically gifted player in our squad. Under Brian we could see him make a major contribution this season as he will be playing in a team that don't do hoofball. MOT.

After the brum game mcd said he wants everyone living in the local area, I think he lives in Bolton. he was linked with a move down south and someone on this site said he wouldn't go because he won't leave his home in Bolton. please correct me if I am wrong, I could be.

Clearly can't of watched any games then if you think that very rarely gives the ball away and is perfect at killing time

Best touch/technique on the pitch every time I saw him. Sure he has not got much pace but ability wise, he is very good at this level and should be more effective with better quality around him.

How can anyone day Diouf was poor. He may be slow but he has enough ability to make up for it.
He definitely helped make Byram the player he is today, and had a hand in many of our goals last season. Not sure how he'll fit into the team next season

If mcdermott had any brains diouf will b sold :) offers nothing but greed with a few neat passes very overated player. byram has had no help from diouf lol byram is talented diouf is past it. diouf and austin need 2 b kicked out they are dragging leeds down

Give austin a chance. takes time to come back from a broken leg. unfortunately for us, they never seem to come back as good

I hope he is after a keep as that's the weak link we have at the moment. Kenny no good

We have 2 fine goalkeepers. We have 0 wingers. I think wingers is more the weaklink position.

I like kenny and think he's the second best keeper we've had since we've been relegated from the premier league second to schemicle (spelling?)

Kenny was one of our best last season. without him we would most likely b in division 1 so no need 2 replace thanks and given is terrible now

He's not the greatest no but he's a good keeper. One of two good keepers we have. Like the guy said, it's all about priorities; at least one good wide player and a solid central defender are the priorities for us. Just because we've made one million pound signing, it doesn't mean we have the money to improve every position if we already have a capable player in that position.

Mcarthy and ashdown do for me, Kenny can do one, go drive warnockys tractor

King kennys top keeper. we need a winger plus a solid center half to partner young tom lees. mcD is in talks to sign rowe from peterboro. deal is very close.

Given were a good keeper for many years, but best days long gone.

Kenny will b staying and rightly so. without him we would b in league 1 probs so he will once again b our number 1 gk, ashdown is ok but if any goalkeeper leaves it will b ashdown

As someone has recently said, talk down in the midlands is that Leeds will meet Leicester's asking price for Morgan, however he is reluctant to leave the area although there is also talk of significant bonuses to be offered should we gain promotion as MCD is reluctant to throw money around on wages and leave us lumbered!

Also strong talk of Burke joining but Clarke not too keen on losing Burke if Redmond leaves so MCD trying to get the deal pushed through before any deal for Redmond can be done with a Prem side which could potentially scupper our move for Burke.

Im sorry but morgan is well out of our league, he got voted the best cb in the championship last season and we just dnt have a chance with him as he likes the midlands aka forest and foxes if anywhere he will prob go derby more chance

Leicester have no asking price for morgan as he's not for sale and is signing a new contract with us

Read elsewhere forest were intrested in re-signing morgan.

BMD is in favour of a Director of football, he had Nicky Hammond as his director of football at Readng.

The role of DOF often has been seen as a failure in the UK but that is mainly due to the fact that the DOF is harboring a desire to be the manager, and/or the manager didn't want a didn't want some one sat above him interfering.

However the DOF works all over the world especially when the manager you have a manager that is effectively hiring his own director of football & setting the parameters that they work to.

A big job for one man. No reason we couldn't have Gary Mac in there offering a bit of nous and some excellent contacts

Totally agree with the 3rd poster. Let BMD bring in his own back room staff etc he's the man in charge he's the man to take us forward in this totally new era for LUFC! Leave old players as old, it hasn't really worked in the part has it! So here's to the NEW future the NEW manager The NEW team (he's building) the NEW regime the NEW look elland rd!:-)

Pretty sure Gary Mac could work well with anyone and this would simply be a strategic post, not an operational one.
The point of it is to simply add a footballing check/balance above the manager (which is a good thing in the case of some boards who know naff all about football). Would rather have Gary Mac in there than Joe Kinnear who Newcastle have gone for. Dennis Wise followed by Joe Kinnear. You have to wonder what Mike Ashely's been smoking to come up with those master plans.
