Dont really think so . He is too old, too expensive and won't drop into the Championship . Not a Mac type of signing in any shape or form . He is on huge wages and will go to a lower Prem team for a final pay day . Hull or Stoke, someone like that . Young hungry players are what we will get with maybe an older experienced Italian or two to compliment them . That's my take on it anyway MOT

TREV you sure? I reckon Bent in our league is worth 20 goals. still class finisher and you don't lose that certainly a better standard of signing than taylor and hockaday

Totally agree, Bent would be great for us, but he is out of our League in wages even if Villa let him go cheap . Good shout though .

Does anyone have any info as to when Nicola Salerno will be officially appointed. Seems that he is busy working away behind the scenes but I would have thought MC would want to announce it ASAP?

looks like the first 2 italians in will be Marco Sylvestri (keeper) and Tommaso Bianchi (Midfield) deals done by Nicola Salerno

Not bothered what nationality they are as long as there better than the recent shower we've had to suffer, not sure why we haven't off loaded the likes of tonge hunt and Norris tbh if there getting rid of the dead wood? MOT

Nothing certain yet. We are looking at lots of players but any signings will be value for money and players who want to come. Sylvestri looks likely but all the others are up in the air. My family in Piri tell me that Avelar is desperate to come over and that a young player from Cagliari will be leaving for these shores, maybe Fabro but not certain. Thing is we are sure to have a better squad than we had last season, and new talent in the youth team. mot
