Celino's first action should be to tie Byam up to along contract. Byram's curren deal expires in 2015.

Believable41 Unbelievable10

How about a new manager for starters, then lose all the deadwood, Stewart, Kebe, Hunt, Zaliukas, Wootton, Lees, Pugh, Drury, Peltier, Brown, Tonge, White. Then we can have a great chance of competing next season.

Agree5 Disagree2

Byram has been dreadful this season

Agree4 Disagree3

Byram has had long term injury problems which have impacted upon his all round game & match fitness this season. Is this what you intended to say?

Agree5 Disagree1

Get what we can for him, and let him go he's not that clever, gets caught out of position, thinks he's a midfielder.

Agree1 Disagree3

Leeds are targeting Celtics Georgio Samaras, who is out of contract in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree3

Byram won't get a new contract till at least Christmas, he has struggled to get back to the form he showed last season after his injury and will be given time to prove himself. I think he will be offered a contract but his form at the start of the season will see how good a contract he gets

Agree1 Disagree0

Have you been to the games this season?
He has turned into a very mediocre player ( Hope this is down to being injured )

LUFC KEK

Agree0 Disagree1

Byram is not hard enough. He is a keen enough sort of lad but like I said he is too easy pushed aside. Not what is required for the prem.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sure byram signed new contract last season

Agree1 Disagree0

He actually signed a new deal last season and is clearly very injury prone, when he's played this season he's been poor. Don't see any reason to sort out a new contract at the moment!

Agree1 Disagree1

OP, here. He signed for two years towards the end of last season. His contract expires next summer 2015. Would be much better to push him forward into midfield as many of us suspected might happen this season. Hopefully, this does happen and we get in some defensive presence to sit behind him and do the ugly stuff. Agree, Byram hasn't exactly shone this season but, honestly, who has? Byram is still very young and is nowhere near the finished article but, of all our academy prospects in the last few years, he's one of only a few with genuine potential. Sign him up for another three years because we do not want to be having another January of 'we can't sell Byram' posts.

Agree1 Disagree0

"clearly injury prone" after making 50 odd appearances and his first senior season no wonder! and judging him this season is silly there's barley a single player able to hold their head aloft

Some of these posts here are truly disgusting, I can't believe i'm reading this rubbish about probably one of most highly rated up and coming players for years now, give him a chance he's only what 19/20 ffs

How can you sack a share holder

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Apr 2014 19:37:35
Correct mate, rumours of a phonecall between MC and a head of supporters trust saying haigh was in it with bates and attempted to blackmail the Italian! MC also let slip that hunt, kebe and murphy all on 20+k a week!

Agree3 Disagree0

Haig might well be a shareholder but you can still sack an employee wether you own shares or not. not rocket science!

Agree3 Disagree1

Cant wait for next season

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 20:53:40
Dont think publicity daves a shareholder!

Agree0 Disagree1

Nope jumped the gun haigh still employed and won't be sacked while ever ghf are around ghf entitled to board members

Agree1 Disagree1

Actually, if Haigh pumped in 1.5 million of his own cash (as Haigh reported), then he'll be mooching around waiting for his slice before he slips back under the venture capital rock he crawled out from under. Don't think there'll be much love for him at GFH towers, these days. Tried to buy the club himself on the cheap, stiff his GFH paymasters and wreck the team to knock down the club's value. I don't blame GFH for any of this, by the way. I think Haigh's personal ambitions ruined our season.

Agree1 Disagree1

Cellinos buying Elland Road and Thorpe Arch he also said he will use the scouts from Cagliari Europe south America and Latin America hopefully next season but if not definitely the season after will be coming to England tomorrow to do an immediate press conference in London he will sell Cagliari once he gets his first decent offer he also had 4 signings lined up in January but because of the takeover he couldn't get them over the line

Believable40 Unbelievable10

Lets hope he doesn't ignore the home grown products from the youth academy then.

Agree1 Disagree0

In the phonecall which I'm sure we've all heard, Cellino clearly states that he wants English players, guys with potential who know the English game. Will Hughes of Derby would fit the bill in my opinion but not sure we could couple him with Mowatt in the midfield just yet. As we've seen from Wickham and Butland joining us, Cellino wants the best of the British and I'm sure he'll be willing to pay the required money to ensure we are getting guys of this calibre wearing Leeds shirts going forward

Agree1 Disagree0

He did say he would buy ER but wanted training ground closer to home ground ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 10:22:21
says in the paper cellino has fired david haigh anyone confirm this? Jesus that was fast if it's true. also buying ER back this week?

Believable36 Unbelievable14

He hasn't fired him yet but says he will do. Monday should be an interesting day!

Agree3 Disagree0

Haig has been fired mc arrives in leeds tomorrow press conference Monday also bmc will be gone this week

Agree3 Disagree3

Yes Haigh has gone and Cellino states that he is now going to have a proper conversation with Brian Mac to find out what has really been going on with the team and results. Also paying the players on Monday and going to the bank to buy Elland Road and Thorp Arch THIS WEEK! Says not making promises he cannot keep regarding time frame for getting back into Premiership (how refreshingly honest) and knows that squad needs a lot of changes in order to enable the team to "EARN ITS WAY BACK TO THE PREMIERSHIP" in 2015-2016 season and will focus on buying English and International players! Am I dreaming? We haven't just got a new owner with passion, honesty, high standards and mega money, we've got a bloody GLADIATOR!

Agree7 Disagree2

Cellino states he is looking at english and international players, as for Haigh, Cellino clearly sees no role for Haigh going forward, telling the paper: "David has to go. I have had too much of him.". I am getting excited over this bloke, calls it like it is, what a breath of fresh air he is. Cellino our saviour
veni vidi vici. mot

Agree2 Disagree0

Not fast enough. That guy had more faces than a plethora of hydra on steroids. Never liked him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Probably dodgy connection with Master Bates. This guy is not going to mess around as he's stated he wants us back in the premiership by 2016.Hes also surprised Brian hasn't resigned

According to Rob Atkinson in an article he wrote.
The FL can have another go at MC if his appeal in Italy fails in say 3, 6 or 9 months time is this possible?
P.S. a worried fan.

Believable11 Unbelievable33

No, he's in now, that's it done final stop worrying

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 12:44:05
I wouldn't worry about that

1. The QC has the final word
2. Who would run the club you think the football league would want to be made culpable for the wages

Agree2 Disagree0

Surely if they do that retrospectively, then that same rule should apply to every owner under FL rules, now that would shake up a hornets nest. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 15:37:37
he could just do and will do what Birmingham owner has done resign from the board and still run the club

Agree0 Disagree1

Think the QC that Cellino couldn't be considered guilty of a dishonest act until the whole of the Italian appeal procedure has been gone through. It would appear that could take well over a year.
The Guardian seem to think that if the Italian Judges written report due in June confirms what she said that the FL acted on that would be enough. Not sure they have read QC judgement? I am pretty sure the QC said that the whole appeal procedure under Italian Law would have to be completed and Cellino still found guilty before could be considered a dishonest/disqualifying act.

Agree1 Disagree2

It wouldn't make sense for the FL to be able to disqualify someone after he had been appointed because the clubs would potentially end up going out of business.

I think Cellino may well will his appeal in Italy anyway. The fine was light in respect of the tax not paid and Cellinos lawyer seems pretty confident that he will win, the cost of the appeal will probably be bigger than the fine so it would have been cheaper to pay it if he knew he was guilty

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 17:36:57
Cellino can probably afford better lawyers than the FL. Unless they have a clear cut case they probably want to leave it alone. Most football club owners will have used tax avoidance schemes. Arguably it wasn't 'dishonest' for Cellino to do what he did, but an attempt to use existing laws to his benefit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately we all know how the FL work, and before next season starts they will probably introduce a rule (for no other reason than that they can) to deduct 25 points or more from any team whose owner/director/manager/teaboy is found guilty of any misdemeanour that brings the game/team/them into disrepute.

They have had their nose put out of joint and there is no way they will let us get away with it.

Hopefully Cellino has the financial and legal backing to sue the ar$e of them and thus far it looks like the FL have no lawful right to decide who does or doesn't have a right to own a football club despite all the biased members they put on the panel to try and sort this crap out.

Maybe they can't sack Cellino, but they sure as hell can deduct points from our club with no previous rule being in place.

. been there, done that!

Leeds4alongtime

Agree1 Disagree0

The QC has shown the FL that MC should not, as things stand, have failed FPP test.
THATS ALL.
Doesn't mean FL have to allow him .

My guess is its far from over.

I haven't got twitter but a mate has told me rumours on there about zola coming in!?

I expect to get shot down with this comment but I really hope we stick with BMD. I accept that results have been poor recently but how people can say off field problems have nothing to do with it is ludicrous! Ask yourself if you were only paid half your wages would you give your all at work or would you stand slating the company!?

To replace the manager now or in the past or till the rest of the season would papering up a crack as the problem has never stemmed from the manager it's been the persons above him and BMD has soldiered on and tried to do what's best for he club. This is a man who will succeed IMO given time and a club with no drama and who don't have joke owners! Judge him when he gets a fair crack at things.
Football is a results based business, unfortunately people forget the circumstances surrounding the results at 3pm on a Saturday.

People will disagree which is what football is all about, differing opinions but I just think BMD will do as well as any manager next year with backing and owners who respect him!

MOT!

Believable30 Unbelievable8

I think you make a very fair point. And I agree: he IS a good coach and deserves the same chance that a 'new' coach would expect.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 12:30:04
He's already sacked BMD once so must be abit awkward, prior to Cellino, McDermott signed some poor players. I would not fancy letting him loose with £10m to spend on the league 1+2 players of the year!

Agree1 Disagree3

His tactics are inept, and he hasn't got a Scooby do how to change thing when losing, he is one of the most stagnant managers around.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Apr 2014 12:41:39
Footballers some on 18k a week at Leeds are not going to miss their wages a couple of weeks late some will prefer to get it in bulk because they will be getting like 40k in the space of 2 weeks because wages have been late and idc what football club I was at if I was a footballer i'd try for the fans some of which pay a hell of a lot to see you play

Agree1 Disagree0

They have missed half of there payments for one month we have been poor all season no passion no pace no quality . for me I would keep byram warnock pearce mccormack mowat and murphy only because he is young and the rest can go

Agree2 Disagree1

Totally agree with you, since he was appointed it has been nothing but turmoil at ER so give him a settled off season, and a season with upheaval and then judge him!
PeteMOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Footballers have bills as much as you, they may earn more than you but that just means they have larger expenses to pay, trust me, they will very much miss half of their wages.

Unfortunately in this current climate you would find it hard to find a player that plays for fans, at least above grass roots level. Players join clubs for money and to win stuff, simple as.

tbh I would find it a bit creepy if we got a Serie A player tomorrow who suddenly started kissing the badge (i'm already struggling to see how MC "fell in love with the fans" after we chased him out the ground in Jan. and why should we expect any specific loyalty from players that change their colors every 2/3 years anyway?

(PS I appreciate there are a few good eggs out there, this is merely a generelisation)

Agree1 Disagree1

I think the goings on my have had some effect but his signings have been very poor and some of the tactics and selections have been very hard to understand. When he was sacked by Reading they were bottom of the league. He is not very inspirational and is not the sort of manager who can attract quality players

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with what your saying, I don't see the harm in keeping till end of season but I would exwpct to see a maked imprivement from here in.
Another thing to maybr consider is that there will always be something that's a big deal at lufc, brian will need to understand this a a big club and its a big job so he's going to need to be able to handle that kind of pressure

Agree1 Disagree0

Original poster here.

I appreciate everybodies comments and agree with a few. For me, it's not even a case of imagining yourself not getting paid - it's more of a case of imaging being in a a mangers position and trying to rally your workforce after they've only recieved a portion of their pay!?

What should of happened is GFH/Haigh or whoever caused this financial mess should have gone and done tactics/team talks as there the ones who put us in the initial mess not BMD who then gets treated as the scapegoat as he's an easy target! After what YEP released last week regarding the board checking BMD tactics it's jumping the gun to also criticise his tactics as how do we know these weren't just GFHs chosen tactics and signings not BMD!?

I also couldn't agree more with kentish white - people's need to realise that footballers do not view there club in the same way as those of its supporters. It's easy to say that we would all give our all for leeds half pay or full pay as we're fans of the club. Most at leeds currently aren't and whether it be right or wrong that's the harsh reality. same as If we played for any other club, Bolton for eh. would you give as much of a feck?! It's sad but true.

Hopefully we can move forward now and for me, with BMD!

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with you, I'd like to see him given a shot with some decent funding and no excuses to hide behind. If he does get the boot though who would everyone like in as a replacement?

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 16:26:28
Bring in Glenn hoddle recon he would do ok

Agree1 Disagree2

If BMD wins the majority of the games left this season now that the players will be paid and the ownership is sorted I might agree with you. Somehow I don't this will happen. It can't be denied that most of his signings are pretty poor and wouldn't get in most of the other championship sides. Nor can't it be denied that tactically he has been found wanting. In most of the games this season, even those that we won, we haven't been dominating games

Agree1 Disagree1

I'll admit I was the first one to defend bm when he got sacked but after all the bad mistakes he's made over the last weeks it's hard to trust him with money after the players he's brought in.i can see were your coming from over players wages but I would die on that pitch soon has I put that shirt on they should play for the fans that are paying there wages that travel week in week out to see our team at least try to play football first half yeasterday was really bad, we had a better team in league one I'm just glad that bates has gone for good he's brought our club down far to long Chelsea scum. I'm so glad to see massimo come in after watching him on you tube talking to a fan he loves our club like we do and that's what was up with the fa they just don't like us full stop.it would of been so easy for him to walk away but he didn't he fought for us when he had his own club in Italy I respect the man already I think this could be the break that all us die hard leeds fans deserve mot for ever lads

Agree1 Disagree0

Mate I agree when you say you would die to put that shirt on - nobody more so than me but that's my point. you and me say that as supporters, unfortunately players well most anyway don't think the same way which is why they don't play out their skin for half there pay packet. It's a non starter debate as I assume you have a job mainly to provide and for your wage at the end of the month, just like me. which is exactly what players do but people think there the enemy for having this mentality! Like I said, right or wrong it's the way of the world.

Also, if these are BMD signings and not the boards then I would agree when people say this is his downfall as they've been pretty disastrous so far but people are quick to forget that he was the best manager since sliced bread when he brought in Wickham and Butland. ! All people do is judge him on kebe, stewart and hunt! He's also got the best out of Pearce since he's been here, gave mowatt a proper crack of the whip, got roscos best season out of him and signed a pretty decent goal scoring return in matt Smith!

In a stable club with the right backing I'm sure BMD will be a decent manager and we will challenge next year.

MOT!
Scoty1919

Agree1 Disagree0

Just seen on twitter, people saying he's spent more money then previous etc and he shouldn't be trusted in the market. Kenny, Austin, Peltier, Pearce all amounts to more then what he has spent! Pearce has played well, but he has NEVER been given a chance to do anything, he's only had a scouting network set up from the start of the season. I think seen as he said we didn't have one, no doubt even that isn't up and running.

Results fair enough rubbish, but I think bring in some decent backroom staff, invest in academy coaches and push on. give him next season at least! Grayson had time, so give him more then this season surely

Matt

Agree1 Disagree0

Scoty I love BM but with the results and the odd doggy signing would he be the manger you would give a rubbish load of money to, I don't know but he's a gentleman and if he does give him a chance then I'll be behind him all the way and he does love leeds.what it is scot I travel every home game and sum away but I'm not on my own I live in stoke with my two sons they are both leeds fans converted from a very early age lol my youngest only being 15 can't really remember the good times but he works all week has a paper boy getting up at 5 so he can buy his ticket to watch leeds he dose not mind us losing he hates the lack of passion and fight that sum players have at times, has he gives every penny he earns on watching leeds united but one thing that never disappoints him are our fans and that's why all of us go.we were all so happy even the wife has even she loves leeds, yeasterday when the news broke has I think we can look forward to good times again. we all love leeds mot

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry but I do not agree with original post here (although can see his point), firstly on the players it is not a question of supporting leeds or getting paid is should be a question of pride and loving football. I play in goal, I support leeds and play for my regular team who I don't support I do not get paid but still give all because I love football, love to win and don't like letting goals in, our players should have the same pride full stop, I understand the payment issues but professionals should be better than that, from what I have seen Ross Mcc has step up to the plate if others had done the same we would be ok, as for Brain, who I liked at first. His tactics are inept, his signings have been poor and he has not managed this situation well, dennis wise who was bad manager took leeds in similar circumstances and made the team stronger as any good manager would every situation even bad is an opportunity and brian has failed to rally the troops. so on tatics, signings and man management he has flopped and should go. in any circumstance we should beat charlton and doncaster but our team have given up and its not good enough, eddie howe would still be my man

Agree1 Disagree1

Also (from post above) I often get asked to play for mates teams or other teams who I do not play for regulary still give my all it is down to personal pride and I have not seen much of that at Er over the last few seasons

Agree1 Disagree1

To the above post. I agree with all you say mate. I play football and am captain of my local team but don't get paid. I five 150% as I love football but once again this is my point.love it or hate it players get there pay packet nowadays and that's it!

Morally it's wrong but realistically it's true. I get your point about rosco but bar him the only other person I see wanting the best for leeds is BMD himself!

In a perfect world the players would give there all because of love of leeds united and football, sad fully this just isn't the case and BMD is the one who's made a scapegoat for this. Again, just my opinion mate. onwards and upwards!

I think MC will go for martin Jol not sure why but gut feeling. Personally I would want eddie howe done great at bourmouth and young manager I also think kenny jacket would be very good but not sure he would leave wolves after getting them promoted this year. I am also a massive fan of simon grayson, he had his hands tied always having to sell best players without having money to re-invest and always did well with leeds, seeing us fall apart with other managers since he left has really shown what a good job he did, although not done great since he left. also if we are getting money to spend when will the alan smith roumours start up again maybe as a player manager? one for survivor maybe?
