I'm afraid to say once the Kuwaiti billionaire has taken over forest they will appoint Warnock, dark days ahead, hope I'm wrong. Source: Various journalists on twitter (hope they are wrong).

Absolute rubbish, if not then let Colin go, he needs to back his words up this season or he is letting himself in for a massive fall, he has been building all the fans up making himself look like the clubs saviour, big talk and were all wanting the results

And the Kuwaiti has no cash so the press say,and not a billionaire....he sells fridges.

The kuwait in question does not have the money to buy forest he admitted on kuwait tv he didnt i follow most major journalists and even thy have stopped mentioning itin a press stement released by forest thy said they was looking for a takeover butthey had never heard from alfawazi

It depends really ,maybe he his a billionaire and if he takes over forest he would have money to spend so why not go all out and get promoted .
warnock said if theres no money he will walk .way i see it we have no money without these investers or selling the rest of our top players . i hope im proved wrong but i can see warnock walking very soon .

I dont think the press no anything about fawaz alhasawi they cant tap his phone so they cant say who he is buying i no that u cant find anything about him on wiki all anyone knows is that he is bought a club belived to be leeds or forest one of fawazi family but on twitter concrads to leeds fans he is a realy great guy so where do the press get its forest why would u want be buy forest when u can buy leeds but the press say he dont have the money to buy a club like leeds or forest my guess he is investing into a club leeds maybe full takeover in years time forest want full takeover has there owner died i did read that hes value u was 550 mill and and family value is unkown they said there quadrillionaires hope all this helps could be wrong hope not

Whats every1 veiw on adam clayton should he go or stay i thing he should stay he played most games for us last season and dont forget about the goals he got one that volly was class {Ed037's Note - He needs a partner though, he looked lost without Howson towards the end of the season}

Clayton should stay in my eyes pre howson injury he was our best player

I think we should keep him because we just need a player that is more technical in midfield. Him and brown last season didn't work cus there too similar both power and tacklers. We need someone that can pick out the right pass/create and organise as sucre midfield. Overall we should keep him but get a player with more experience and technical ability. MOT!!

A lot of players would be lost without howson to be fair great player its a good point shame delph cant keep fit be great with clayton in centre with snodgrass right and bring gradel back on left be good mid

Clayton's not good enough and I won't be sad to see him go.

I think if he stays, he will be 3rd in the pecking order, I think NW has new plans for the midfield.

Delph and clayton way too week for cm partnership . would defo keep clayton . he just needs an hard man next to him that will bully opposition players and allow clayton to do his stuff

I think clayton is more than good enough to help take us to the prem. he scored some important goals and worked hard. Real shame gradel us not still here. Thought gradel worked hard week in week out. It took him a year to sort his attitude out, but when he did he was great. We needed to keep players like that.

Clayton had a poor second half to the season and hid when the going got tough. There are better players out there and I for one won't be dissapointed to lose him.

Not sure about Clayton. As has been said, struggled without Howson, who was the real class act in our midfield, as we saw from the point when Howson was injured v Millwall. Basically from that point on (end of Nov), it was a real struggle to get any points at all. The team was lost without Howson (a fixture for the previous 3 years) -without his passing, pace and creating of space (even when not on top form), there was no pattern or focus to the team's play. So, to answer the original question, Clayton, unlike Howson, has never really been integral to the team's pattern of play, so cannot be deemed indispensible. I would term him promising -like him as a player, but would be happy to sell if we continue to need to sell before we can buy; if that changes, then I would, on the other hand, be more than happy to see him stay to see how he develops. So not clear-cut either way...

Keep him. like others have said, he needs another quality partner in the middle with him.

Is this the same person writing these post except for mine.I never mentioned Ridsdale and would agree he caused our club a lot of harm,Bates has done nothing only rip the loyal support off with as much as he could get away with.And i repeat he said in court on oath he never put a penny in to Leeds and its not that long ago he and Harvey who actually said to a select committee of MPS they didn't know who the owners were.
Because the MPS were on to him a few weeks after he announced he was the owner,so who did he buy the club off.

I agree on the saved us bit but hasn't done us proud with the way he's sold players. How much of these sales have been put back in, or even replaced them. I just feel its time for change of the guard.

I wonder if anyone of us fans were to own our beloved club and some of the players were to ask 20k a week of my money. And then see nothing on the pitch as well. I'm sure some would get the youth team to do their garden lol. Ken has done very well so far considering how we were. What club is debt free? And above all Leeds debt free? One thing is for sure, yes we had a minor step back last season but we've made giant steps last few years. I truly believe whether with bates or not once we go up it will be for good. MOT

We are not debt free,We borrowed £5million against the next 2yrs season ticket income to pay for his beloved boxes,Bates also sold 32 preference shares for £3.2million with a guarantee the buyer would receive £4million return if the club was sold or went into admin.

First I'm surprised no one has said "we went into administration a second time because of bate" and that leeds me onto my point, lol. Last time bates got annoyed with our club, when he couldn't buy his extra 2% he stopped giving us any money, so let get behind the whole club and march on up to the big time!

Also bates wouldn't be the first to sell shares and float debt and he won't be the last, Scum are about to float all there debt on the korean stock market, meaning they become billionaires due to the fact there whole fan base is over there!

Bates did save leeds united in a way. he spent some money to get the club . he then used his brain and sold everything which got him back the money he bought the club for . he took us into administration to reduce the amount we had to pay and has been running the club on what's left.

had someone else taken over who knows where we would be .

bates should of sold the club after the last season when we came 7th but he got greedy.

Balance required as ever. Bates is not the devil as some seem to believe(come on, perspective chaps!); he has made some sound business decisions -but has also dropped some absolute clangers (e.g. prioritising ground development over retention of top players; letting mediocre managers hang around too long -Grayson, Gary Mac, Blackwell). So like most people in his sort of position, a mixture of good and bad. I think time will tell exactly wether or not bates has been good for Leeds. I for one hope that he does indeed prove himself worthy and Leeds get back to the glory days. I live in hope

I see alot of people posting teams who they would have and they all seem to have the usual names appear eg, Kenny, Beckford, DJ Campbell etc.

If I was Leeds manager and I had just been given a transfer kitty from the new owners I would stay clear of these personally...

I would go for something like this...

CB - Jason Pearce

anyone heard this rumour about the investment - Elland Rd being brought back by the American Company, they will get 22% of shares(leaving Bates 50.85% the controlling shares), saving 2m in rent a year, the amount needed because of the over spend last season on wages

Doesn't make sense to me, as Bates already owns the stadium through his web of offshore companies. This is how he pays himself at Leeds.

As leeds may have over spent on wages leeds still posted over 3 million profit with company house and ive not heard anything of this rumour but i have hear rumours that bates own elland road and thorp arch and if they have baugt ellan road in your allegeged post it will only save us 1 million as the other million is for thorpe arch

And if they only got elland road they would only save 1 million really dont make sence

It makes perfect sense, if Bates does own Elland Rd(like you say) selling it will get him 12m, so one big lump sum,

so he will basically get 12m for his 22% shares, it will take him another 7 years to get that much in rent,

Elland rd is 1.9m in rent and Thorp Arch 600k or around that

These will be stumbling blocks for any investment or takeover. possible investors will want to know, who owns leeds, who owns the ground and who owns the academy. if bates is not giving this info, there will be no investing, especially if the investors have to pay £2million a year in rent. if bates does sell the ground, he'll still want to build his hotel & casino, which is another stumbling block/agreement to overcome??

We had overspent by 2 mil on our transfer/wage budget but then we sold howson for 2 mil so doesn't that cover that 2 mil or is that just for bates pocket

No one will invest whilst bates is in control because no one trusts him to watch the pet hamster so why give him millions of pounds it will be a take over or nothing

Post 5 if you are the origional posters your post and reply at 5 really makes no sence it would cost just short of 15 million to buy back elland road and in the compamny account sent to company house its states rent at elland road as 1 million plust thorp arch 1 million and if the investment was to buy the stadium for for 22 %stake in the club what would the invetsres get out of it munless they charged rent on the stadium so please go reserch before you make silly rumours

If, as I believe and most of you do, Elland Road and Thorpe Arch are owned by Ken- outside the Leeds United Business, and simply used as a means to extract cash out of the club. Why would any sale of the ground / Thorpe Arch be linked into shares for the Club?
Personally I think we are all doing the typical running away with things and setting ourselves up for major disappointment. I doubt its the Kuwaiti, I feel this could all be a smokescreen to defer some lack of ambition /finance away from Ken for a few months of the close season. I hope I'm wrong, but we must also remember This is our Club, It belongs to the people of Leeds and our descendents. Whoever gains financial control is unlikely to be the Golden Goose, unless they love the club as much as us. For 12m the Americans get 22% of Shares, leaving Bates WITH 50.85%(the controlling shares) with that 12m Bates will build the ground back(its 12m google it) - therefore saving Leeds 1.9m a year in rent(again google it)

we get a new investor and the ground back = long term investment

and if Bates did own the ground, he would basically be buying Elland Rd for Leeds with the Americans money, so Bates would get 12m(straight into his bank) plus still own 50% of the Ground, that is why he would sale the Ground

Makes sense to me -last poster and the original seem to have got the logic of this; as ever, we seem to attract a whole bunch of quite aggressive knee-jerk objectors -shame, as great site and some great posters.
