Takeover to be completed by Friday.

Let the abuse begin but i have inside knowledge and i am 100% certain it will be completed by then.

Believable20 Unbelievable48

How do u know ?.

Agree0 Disagree1

He doesn't he's a wardrobe millwall fan who wants the reaction

Agree1 Disagree2

Well you have to expect abuse really. Many times in the past people 'in the know' have declared with certainty that the takeover would happen on such and such a date, only for it to come and pass without anything happening. And by opening the sentence with 'let the abuse begin' puts in my mind that you are making it up completely.

Agree0 Disagree0

There have been hundreds of similar posts.
Nothing to substantiate the claim.

Agree0 Disagree1

We need to sell before we can buy any players -look like takeover has stalled dont look good

Agree0 Disagree1

Officially put your house up and I might just start to believe you? Nonsense!

Agree0 Disagree1

Well I don't know why everyone is giving this guy a hard time, I for one am completely convinced!

Unlike every other of the many similar statements this guy has inside knowledge! Roll on Friday, RVP and Robinho the mystery signings? Colin was just waiting till Friday before bringing them in...

Agree0 Disagree1

News was that the takeover was all going to be completed the week commencing 20th august, which ties in with the end of ramadan.
all business undertakings have been put on hold while they are in this period. if this khalifa bloke is involved it would all make sense as he's the one heading this consortium??
hope it happens cos i'll be on holiday when it does, but i'll log on, so keep me informed of any news. season ticket holder and missing first home game(again)

Agree0 Disagree1

Once again - this guy could be right - after all he hasn't said WHICH friday....

nor even that it would be ON a friday...?

Just stop biting, then they'll stop wasting their time........

Grayson to bid £2m for Becchio if Rhodes goes to Blackburn or Fulham

Believable27 Unbelievable70

Good he done nothing in pre season again, spends more time on floor rollin about like a big doris.

Agree0 Disagree5

Not a chance, is the guy on previous reply mad ???
Beccs is 1 of the hardest working forwards weve had for a long time you should take a look at some of his goals

Agree3 Disagree0

Grayson knows how good he is, any team would want a player that works as hard as he does.

hope to god this is true and Becchio says no haha.

And ignore him at the top.

DJM

Agree2 Disagree0

Loyalty doesnt mean he's good

Agree1 Disagree0

I love Beccs he works hard and has a good strike rate. I hope Papa Smurf doesn't cash in and bring in Dave Kitson

Agree1 Disagree0

Really hope this IS true!! He's awful! He's the only centre forward I know that looks uncomfortable with a football... AND he's the only centre forward I know that can't shoot! He has no pace, can't run, and his 1st touch is appalling. And those people that think he's good at holding the ball up, I don't know where you're looking. When it goes into him it just bounces off him - never EVER sticks & when it's thrown up to him he hardly EVER wins a header! He's mostly productive for us when we're defending corners. As for him working hard, all I ever see him do is waggle his fat arse around the pitch without posing a threat to the opposition at all. If someone is willing to offer £2m for him then more fool them! Plus I get the impression Mr Warnock is losing patience with him - thank God!

Agree0 Disagree3

They would be stupid to sell him just before they start their campaign. but i can see this happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody mentioned 'Loyalty' why don't you read the posts

Agree0 Disagree0

£2m?? I let him go for 2 bob!

Agree0 Disagree0

Extremely hard working target man, who on his last full season, 2010-11 in the championship he scored 20 goals!

Last season he had no pre-season at all and still came up with 12 goals, more than Mackail-Smith and more than Nicky Maynard!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes not good enough for the terriers..you can keep him !

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take it if we wasn't getting a takeover could get us two players what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest with u if grayson cudnt afford peltier he not gonna be able 2 afford becchio

Agree0 Disagree0

Luci is the best striker we've had for a long time, strong, great in the air, good finisher, great defending corners and all round leads the line excellently as an old school goal poacher always in the right place at the right time. Warnock rates him highly and can't see him letting him go.

JC

Agree1 Disagree1

Crack me up some people on here Luciano is a class act he does so much for the team, no chance in selling him, 1 off the best in the league

Agree2 Disagree0

He's shocking to be fair. Yes he gets scruffy goals, I'll give him that. But as a player he is terrible! I agree with the earlier post he never poses a threat to a back 4. He's very one dimensional, and what's all this rubbish about him working hard? All he does is wobble around in the one pace that he has (SLOW!) When the ball goes to him, it's like he's never seen a football before in his life haha, and the above post is so true - He cannot shoot to save his life! If we can get some cash for him let's get shut and get some quality in up top. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

We were a better TEAM with Andy Keogh in the side instead of him. Granted, Keogh wouldn't get the goals that Becchio gets, but he was more of a threat to opposition because he'll run the channels all day long. He made the opposing back four turn and face their own goal by making runs in behind. This is something that Becchio cannot do because he's not as mobile. Keogh closed down the back four and worked them hard. He and McCormack hunted as a pair and reaped the rewards early in the season. When Becchio came back in for Keogh, his lack of movement (because he's too slow) & abiltiy to close down the back four early made us easy to defend against. With the loss of Gradel we had no-one to pose a serious threat of a run in behind the back four. Now we have McCormack who's a very clever footballer, we need someone who's a bit of a livewire & willing to run in behind. I'd much rather Becchio leave than Ross.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. We do need a 'livewire' to compliment McCormack's footballing ability. The return of Beckford would be ideal for me! Pace to burn, and alert and bright in the final third. Opposing defenders are aware of his threat at all times. Maynard is another. Becchio only really becomes a threat if we get a good delivery in. He's never going to run away from a defender is he? Or beat a man and score. Beckford or Maynard can produce something from nothing on their own. McCormack is a very brainy player, we just need a bit of pace and movement. Becchio will not give us that unfortunately. If we get an offer that can help us get a 'livewire' then we should accept it. Definitely. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Having watched his performance tonight I would drive from Birmingham to Leeds and pick him up and deliver him to them for 2m

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to the guy that says bring beckford back to play with Ross... WHY beckford did so well at leeds cause of the flick ons etc becchio won with the creativity of gradel and snodgrass BUT mainly because becchio did all the physical work while he took all the goals and glory and now people are slating becchio? and saying he cant shoot, i challenge you people that clearly dont know a great deal about being a striker to replicate his goal against middlesborough away the other season? Go on go do that for your pub teams and post it on youtube for us all to see. Chappy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really good point made about Amdy Keogh above -never got the credit he deserved when he was here, and the only time we looked halfway convincing last season was when Keogh was the focal point of our attack. After he -and Howson- went we were frankly atrocious; those 2 gave us what poise and control we had. And here's a thought: what if Grayson had chosen to spend that 500k on Keogh rather than his fellow -and frankly anaemic- loanee Danny Pugh? I suspect that our season would have panned out very differently, SG (for good or for bad) might well still be in the job, and Howson could well have stayed to try and see us over the line to a play-off place. Just a thought! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Becchio go. Falls over far too easy and referees are sick of him. Fans seem to like to sing his name - has a good ring - but I am afraid he is not up to it. Rare that he can go forward with the ball and he did miss a lot of sitters last season.

Would have to bring in a decent forward - come on home Beckford!

dublinjohnmot

Bring in

Agree0 Disagree0

... you mean that goal when for the 1st and only time time in his life he actually struck the ball correctly? And come on let's be fair most of Beckford came from the ball in behind from Snodgrass. If you actually analyse Becchio's performance during a game you will see that he hardley ever wins any flick ons at all. He never wins a header when it's thrown up to him and his hold hold up play is dreadful as it never sticks when it goes up to him. His lack of movement and ability to close down defenders make us easy to defend against because it means the opposing defence can play higher up the field. We no longer have the wide men of Snoddy & Gradel's calibre so it's up to the front men to work the back four and have the threat of using their pace to get in behind. Becchio doesn't bring anything like that. He's never gonna run past anyone. McCormack is main man now so we need someone with good movement and a bit of pace. Maynard or Beckford would be ideal. I've never understood the Becchio lovers. He's a terrible footballer when you look at him as a whole. He's too easy to defend against. Very one dimensional as the previous poster pointed out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh heck don't post it on YouTube or half the fans on here will be demanding to sign that person up for us! That's all some fans seem to watch nowadays to judge how a player is!

Agree0 Disagree0

2011/12
Becchio - 45 appearances 11 goals
Beckford - 37 appearances 15 goals

We need Jermaine back to play with Ross. If we can get him we should get him! All you Becchio lovers need to wake up. He's not that good. I agree with the earlier post. We play differently now. We don't play with 2 flying wingers anymore. Gradel & Snoddy have gone. We need pace up top in the final 3rd to compliment McCormack's footballing ability. Becchio is not gonna give us this. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, I see some stats being thrown around, so if and only IF we were to judge him on stats then we sure as hell shouldn't be after Maynard or CMS as these are not consistant enough, Maynard has had one good season in the championship, CMS has never had a good season in the championship in terms of goals scored. Becchio works just as hard as CMS but manages more goals (in the championship), so really don't see the big deal with CMS! Maynard you could argue he will bag you goals, but he also get's lost in games, ask West Ham fans, you will get mixed reviews, we need some flair in midfield to create these opportunities not another striker, as when we had Gradel and Snodgrass our strikers at the time (Becchio & Beckford) both scored plenty between them! MOT SussexLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Did some of the posters on this thread only started watching games last season?? Becchio is there to bring those around him into the game which is what he has done throughout his time at ER as well as getting into double figures every year. Don't be expecting exciting flowing football this season either, it will be solid, scrappy, longball games and 1-0 wins.

Agree0 Disagree0

This the same Becchio that swansea city put a bid in for last year at 3m?
Them being a Premiership team and all he cant be that bad, given Brendan Rodgers wanted him last year and this year he is willing to sell £35m Andy carroll??

Dont know why any leeds fan wants Craig mackail-smith and nicky maynard, Becchio, Mcormack far better and the only ex leeds player that should come back sholud be beckford. will score at all levels fact, with out him would still be in League one

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree maybe becchio isnt the target man everyone seems to want. But every team does need a targetman for me the Keogh point is very valid. But also proves the point you dont need a beckford in the team at the side of Ross as he gets more goals with a hardworker like keogh playing at the side of him. And becchio doesnt always finish his chances and scare the defence but hes a nightmare to play against cause he will cause them alot of problem physically, anyone that says he is s*** in the air is deluded. Try to remember he is a striker they are centre halfs he has no right to win a aerial battle with them but he does on many occasions, im a season ticket holder i see him play every week and he does win headers i cant believe anyone can dispute that side of his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

2011/12 Championship games only

Becchio - 41 games - 11 goals
Mackail-Smith - 45 games - 9 goals
Maynard - 40 games - 10 goals
Beckford - 39 games - 9 goals

I rest my case

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't just use those stats as a reason. You have to look beyond those and judge how they compliment the team. As has been said earlier, Keogh's stats as a striker are terrible, but watching him fit into the team shows that actually he contributed a lot, and is the main reason Ross scored so many early on in the season.

Just using the x goals in y games stat is nowhere near enough for judging a player's full ability.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never seen one player divide opinions so much! Personally I would snap anybody's hand off that offered cash for him(however much) yet others think he is a superstar.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who said 'To be honest with u if grayson cudnt afford peltier he not gonna be able 2 afford becchio'

Obviously he would have money from the sale of Rhodes. About £5m or £6m So Huddersfield could easily afford Becchio. It's not rocket science

Agree0 Disagree0

I am also a season ticket holder and believe me Becchio DOES NOT win his fair share of headers! He's a terrible player all in all. As for him bringing people into the game - what does he do exactly to do that? If Swansea offered £3m for him then we must have been stupid to say no. If someone came in with £500k I'd let him go, never mind 2 or 3 million!

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddersfield won't get anything like £5m. Come on, get real. He's only ever played in league one - £2m or £3m tops!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong with your valuation
On ESPN
Venkys, are reportedly prepared to offer Rhodes a £35,000-a-week contract with Huddersfield recouping a further £2 million on top of an initial £4m transfer fee if the Lancashire side are promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Apparently George Boyd is missing Peterborough's friendly tonight to have talks with Leeds!.......Hope so

Believable46 Unbelievable20

He's poor would way rather have barantes or templeton now their class

Agree1 Disagree1

Boyd is not talking to Leeds United, never has been and never will.

Agree0 Disagree1

How come most on here seem to be Norwegian league specialists all of a sudden! U would rather have an unknown than a guy who did well in a poor team in the championship, just coz he's foreign doesn't make him better

Agree2 Disagree0

Michael Barrantes is hardly unknown. He was Norwegian midfielder of the year last year and he is a full International representing his country 17 times. George Boyd has played for Stevenage and Peterborough and has 1 cap for Scotland B team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boyd? Don't want him, not good enough for Leeds. Not what I'd call an icing on the cake signing....

Agree0 Disagree0

U seen the videos of these guys there young n have a lot of potential they will bring us 10-15 goals a season where as Boyd won't

Agree0 Disagree0

... Just cos he's foreign doesn't make him
better.... Yes it does, we couldn't pronounce jimmy flloyd hassleface or tony yerbona but they were fantastic! We could say Seth Johnson and Thomas brolin in our sleep (nightmares) so bring on whatshisname!

Btw Thomas brolin was a joke supporting the previous messager

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasnt the best midfielder in the norwegian league last season? seen as austin is a midfielder and he got (player of the year out of everyone in all positions?

Agree0 Disagree0

He was Norwegian midfielder of the year last year. Check your facts

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope the Boyd rumours are true -will do for me as icing. As for this Barrantes chap, I'm happy just to have the one player having to make the not insubstantial jump from the Norweigan league to the Championship at the moment. Chapel A

Michael Barrantes has to and half year left on his contract, and would cost more than 250000 £. Local press did not know of any intrest from Leeds United, but said that Ålesund is a selling club so everything is possible but not for that amount of money.

Believable15 Unbelievable17

I think he is valued around 1 Million Euro. Also he is an attacking midfielder or central midfielder, not RW as NW has said he wants

According to my source (warnocks nephew, a leeds fan) there are 2 players in talks with leeds as we speak, 1x striker and 1x left footed midfielder.
He wouldn't tell me who bought the midfielder is to be bought and striker loaned with a view to buy

Believable15 Unbelievable26

Warnock has stated he wants a right sided midfielder, so I doubt this rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought we wanted a right sided mf?

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnocks nephew a Leeds fan ? seems unlikely to me

Agree1 Disagree0

Exciting if true! Striker to be initially loaned suggests Beckford, Maynard, or even Bothroyd -in other words someone currently on big wages or costing more than say £1.5m. Left footed mid suggests Boyd (or at a push Whittingham -though the latter would surprise me). Any other suggestions? Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it impossible when snodds played on the right to strike on his favoured left ?
This makes all the sense

Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass played on the right but is left footed mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Ur not telling us much we dnt know already ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't Snodgrass a right midfielder? What foot was he again?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah right sided not right footed snoddy was a right sided player but he was left footed white has been playing on right side pre season and he is left footed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy was left footed and played on the right wing

Agree1 Disagree0

I know warnocks dog walker second cousin 3 times removed and he says we're off to sign messi ronaldo and Rooney but keep it quiet lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Original poster here, if im talking rubbish was has george boyd just left TA ?
Look at team sheet for peterborough see if he's in

Agree0 Disagree1

A lot of Warnock's family are Leeds fans, it's well-known!

Jody

Agree0 Disagree0

As you all know warnock was going to leave Leeds at the start of per season. But did you know it was his >>>son

Agree0 Disagree0

I can believe we would sign Messi and Ronaldo, but Rooney, no way, not when we have Varney

Agree0 Disagree0

And to put the Snoddy debate to bed -yes, he is left-footed, but both he and his managers have largely favoured the modern ruse of playing wide men on their 'wrong' side to boost their cutting in and shooting possibilities. Works rather well when your 'weak' foot is as good as Snoddy's right peg is too. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

NW will spend the rest of his transfer kitty on 4 players. He has 1 million left from selling fees.
1. David Templeton 750k to replace Snodds
2. Michael Barrestos 250k
3. Martin Cranie on a free
4. Nicky Maynard on a season long loan

All in by Wolves game

Source: I know the Peltier family and he was told of the transfer targets and takeover situation.

Warnock has already publicly said that he wants a RW and a Striker, but may not have the funds for both.

Yes to all but cranie! get boyd anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Martin Craine refused to play against Preston so he won't be signining. He is average at best anyway.

Leeds United full-back Paul Connolly is attracting interest from a couple of clubs regarding a loan move.

Connolly, who has a year left on his contract at Elland Road, was placed on the transfer list by manager Neil Warnock at the end of last season.

He has been given a squad number for the coming campaign, but the recent signing of Lee Peltier from Leicester City has increased Warnock's options at right-back.

The 28-year-old could now be offered a loan route out of Leeds, with clubs considering making an approach to the Whites.

Connolly has made 64 appearances for Leeds since joining the Championship club from Derby County on a three-year deal in 2010.

Templeton and Beckford are the two players wanted by NW as a winger and striker.
If these deals don't go through, he will turn his attention to George Boyd & CMS

Believable30 Unbelievable27

Obviously not listening to Warnock. Leeds will probably bring in one more player (Maynard) and that is the squad completed. Beckford was never wanted (thankfully), except by some small section of the Leeds supporters who used to do the same about Smith. McCormack is staying and will lead Leeds attack for at least 3 more seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he wont. CMS wants to stay, Ross wants to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds will sign mackaill smith and boyd by saturday mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Well made up1 cos that uis absoloute rubbish.. rumours from twitter and you have come up with a silly conclusion

Agree0 Disagree0

All 4 are cracking players in my opinion -would be delighted with any 2 of. In reply to one of the previous respondents, Ross doesn't as a rule 'lead' the attack, he plays off those who do (hence the ongoing thorny issue throughout his career of how best to accommodate him -despite his undoubted skills, he does present managers with something of a conundrum, hence NW's, indecision in regard to him). NW made enquiries about costarican international midtfielder Michael Barrantes now playing for norwegian side Aalesund. He scored twice and tortured Rudi Austin in last years norwegian cup final and is widely regarded as the most constructive and skillful midtfielder in the norwegian premier league. Could well be gaffers "new Taarabt". Barrantes reported to have questioned Eirik Bakke about whites after request last week. Transfer money probably close to the Austin fee. Are we raiding Norway?

Believable52 Unbelievable16
