Spoke to Simon Grayson at Oulton Hall the other day - he was collecting his car, complete with a huge bandage over his leg...he wouldn't disclose much, said he'd be interested in Smithy cos he's a good battler, but that Leeds HAVE NOT made any contact with him yet and it would depend on wages, with Smiths having to somehow go down by about 30k a week.... His words were 'watch this space' and wouldn't mention any names but says that negotiations are ongoing...nice guy

Simon grayson already said live on Yorkshire radio he has talked to Newcastle and alan smith, he also made it clear ther is many high hurdles to get over though.

WHY would we want smith back, seen him play for newcastle last year (the few times he got a chance) and he seemed very static(not very mobile), also he's now classed a crock. Smith is past it, and before anyone says he was fantastic for Newcastle ask them what they think about his ability They are begging clubs to take him and his ridiculous wage of their hands. He'd be a problem for us if not directly then at the end of the season when we're left with his 45k+ wages

He looked quite content at Newcastles training ground.
I don't believe he will be leaving SJP until his contracts up.
He's happy to remain collecting his big bucks for little imput other than being passionate and a cheerleader, which us fans could do and for much cheaper wages.

SG and David Stockdale spotted at the McDonalds opposite ER. They were chatting ( probably about the possible loan deal). The guy at the till told me Stockdale had a milkshake and that SG had chicken nuggets and a McFlurry. Hope the deal goes through. He is a Leeds lad and has looked a decent keeper at Prem level, plus England call ups.

I wonder how many of the people talking about how we need "quality" players could name QPR's back four from last season. Big names do not equal success. I'd rather see us sign proven Championship players than indulge in gambles on crocks and "prospects". I trust Grayson and his staff to choose the right players. Playing for Leeds takes a rare kind of mentality, a lot of the players mentioned on here as "must buys" won't have it. MoT

Loving reading the "I can't believe we haven't signed anyone" posts, the transfer window has only been open a week

We just do our transfer business in private, so you don't hear about it until there is a conclusion either way

The problem is we dont do any transfer deals and every player we are linked with get snaped up by other clubs. Time to wake up and smell the coffee mid table here we come.

So it doesn't matter if we don't sign any players for a few weeks and they miss half of the pre season training, pre season friendlys with existing players etc.

WHY DON'T SOME OF YOU 'FANS' GET THAT THE SOONER THEY'RE IN THE BETTER, THE TEAM NEEDS TO GEL OTHERWISE WE'RE LOOKING AT ANOTHER SLOW START TO THE LEAGUE AND WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT EFFECTED ARE POINT TALLY LAST SEASON

I think our targets have been signed by other clubs, we'll be left with the dregs again

What is up with you guys It's not as good as last years but it's no where near as bad you lot are making out, look at the admiral kits recently especially the obe we were relegated in, this one kinda look like the old Nike strongbow one, which is odd cos everyone loved that

It's a football kit, who cares, ther isn't alot you can do with a full White kit, it's no better no worse than the last 10 kits we've had, u dnt like it dnt buy it you sad moaning t**t

Having a quality kit by a quality manufacturer (Adidas/Umbro) has a effect on fans/customers...the perception of the club becomes tainted by poor brand...Macron must be paying well, but they are not an established brand so we have the tin-pot feel to our work uniform's

The reality is that we need more than 4 new bodies. We have released Naylor, Higgs, lost Kilkenny, Johnson and Kasper. We have obviously also lost the loan players. All we have in is a comedy keeper. I think six players are needed; GK, LB, CB, CM X2 and an attacking player just for kicks who can play wide.

worrying that we chose Andy O'Brien to model the new kit. He's not exactly a looker is he...does this mean nobody is guaranteed to stay other than him and Howson? Surely Snoddy, Becchio and Max would have been prime choices for kit modelling.

I can't see us going up this season other than the play offs. Leicester and West Ham are going to walk the division, then anyone from about 18 could get in the top 6.

The unvailing of the new home kit might mean howson will be the catain and andy o'brien as vice captain??

I think Leicester will buy the title, but not sure about West Hams credentials. We could make 2nd but I would be happy with making the playoffs and taking our chances

Why would Totenham have any input in whether Woodgate would accept a pay-as-you-play contract?
Still, stoke is the more likely destination at the moment.

Andy Lonergan will choose between Leeds or Everton in the next 48 hours.

The 27-year-old Preston keeper was ready to tie up a £200,000 move to Elland Road.

But Everton, who took on Lonergan for training last season, have made a late counter-move.

Everton have been after lonergan for at least a week if not longer.it's touch and go whether or not we get him.
