A report from Italian website Tuttomercatoweb yesterday claimed Leeds United were interested in Simon Makienok.

Preston also allegedly interested despite a very poor goal to game ratio having scored only five goals in 37 games on loan to Charlton last season. At 6' 7" he would certainly be a good target man.

Watched Chris Wood play for NZ yesterday. Awful. His goal was a massive fumble by the keeper ( stuff you see in 'D' grade high school games) . If he is the best we have for a number 9 then we will not be going up. He couldn't trap a bag of cement. and, he jumps like a bag of cement. When playing for NZ v Fiji, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia nobody could say he shone, but it is a massive incentive to any unskilled player who wants to play. if Wood can, then anyone can.

Garry Monk's preferred formation is 4-2-3-1, not very attacking with the 1 up top but Leeds played this a lot this season and now we have a better manager who can worn with this formation and I believe with afew good key signings we can have a good next season. MOT!

It's not a defensive/ un-attacking formation at all, you essentially play with four up front when attacking and five in midfield when defending, which is why it's so popular; albeit as long as you have the right three sitting in behind your main striker!
