Haven't checked the numbers yet, but if ive won the euro millions expect a takeoff of Leeds united and expect some excellent signings

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Shane long to come in to run onto Becchios heads

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate to say it but you are probably our best chance of quality signings. However frustrated we are just think it could be worse we could support Forest who McClaren says are 8 players short and they are as free spending as KB

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that'd be just great, a chairman who doesn't even know how to spell takeover.

you're all looking at the wrong Fulham keeper... Jol has to bring the squad age down... Stockdale is to be made No 1... Mark Schwarzer will be available after the new goalkeeper signed...

Believable1 Unbelievable16

Were not all looking at thewrong keeper, simon and keneth are...

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust me it is stockdale coming. My mate is
good friends with him and he is coming home to leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look cut the crap mate this is what Jol has said.
Veteran Australian keeper Schwarzer is expected to be Jol's first choice in the coming season and that has prompted question marks over Stockdale's future at Craven Cottage.

However, the 25-year-old has impressed new goalkeeping coach Hans Segers and Jol feels the shot-stopper would benefit from GOING OUT ON LOAN.

"We saw him in training and Hans Segers said he's a big talent, " said Jol.

"I won't sell him because I think his future is bright, but the only thing is we need a club which will promise me he will play every week."

Elamnder is now a free agent after been released by bolton, proven goal scorer in talks with leeds

Believable12 Unbelievable21

I thought Elmander signed for a Turkish Club. Anyway he would not go to Leeds, there would be other premership clubs that would sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same elmander who signed for the dirtiest horrible club in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

He only A free agent as Bolton could bot keep him from wonting to join galatasaray or how ever you spell it seen as people on here judge some spellings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Elmander is highly sought after by many top european clubs, and i believe his wage is about x10 our budget.

Think he went to turkey aswell, absolutely no chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Elmander signed for the turkish team that shall not be named

Snodgrass to stoke is doing the rounds and Paynter to Carlisle..

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Getting boring now. Let him go if he wants out. £4 million would be a good deal. I cannot see anybody paying £8 million for him. He is not worth anywhere near this.

Agree0 Disagree0

At last some 1 agrees with me 4 mil would be good money for him the only thing is would bates spend it on players

Agree0 Disagree0

If clubs pay 8 to 12 million for conner wickham I'm sure snodgrass is worth 8million why should Leeds sell on cheap when no one else dose.

Agree0 Disagree0

montgomery a cert, although i dont think he, ll improve us.

Believable12 Unbelievable11

He wont at all worse than bradley johnson if at all possible we need to resign derry most underated championship player last season and qpr wont give him a new contract and he always spoke of his love for leeds derry is a must

Agree0 Disagree0

But he would be a good replacement of Bradley Johnson

Dennis Appiah to be loaned to Leeds United

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Interesting and original - 19 year old right back with lots of potential but suprised if Monaco would loan him to Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Monaco just been relegated to French second division. Could be a good signing if he's any good. I'd still prefer Lichaj though.

Agree0 Disagree0

It it true his agent is the one and only Tony Yeboah?

It's true if you look on football manager 2011 but not sure thats reliable source

henri lansbury would be a good signing on season long loan any thoughts.

Believable17 Unbelievable10

Eidur Gudjohnsen signing for Swansea....damn missed that one...he would have been a good signing.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Leicester getting michael owen on loan too, some good deals around...

Agree0 Disagree0

Assuming Becchio, McCormack and Somma stay, why would we need Gudjohnsen? An ageing mercenary looking for one last pay day is hardly what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Sven is after Owen Hargreaves not Michael Owen

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree. he would be on mega money. we need to sign young players. he was so fat he only played a handful of games last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 17:19:53
Forgot to mention
Patrick kisnorbo also signed up to a 1 year deal

Love the site -but some of the stuff is farcical
So I have waited to post something until I knew it was fact

Michael Brown - released by Portsmouth is joining the Whites

Ed - thoughts? Can he cut it at33/34?
{Ed008's Note - Still a good player at Championship level i wonder what his wages are though considering he was on 25k at Pompy.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

A lot of people will be saying that this is true, he will be what we need even if he is not a long term solution

Agree0 Disagree0

What is your source or is this another farcical rumour

Agree0 Disagree0

Well people are crying out for Bowyer to sign and he is the same age and just look at the influence Derry had in helping QPR get promoted last season Brown is quality and would be a great signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Nunez and clayton to replace kilkenny and johnson... along howson gradel and snodgrass would easily be the best midfield in the division... Obviously we still need to sign a couple for cover but pleeasse stop worrying about replacing those two. Defenders are more important

Believable8 Unbelievable8

It depends entirely if Nunez and Clayton can do the tackling and the playmaker stuff that Johnson and Kilkenny "did". I put that in inverted comments because they only actually managed to fulfil their roles in midfield occasionally.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are playing with 5 attackers next season then I think not. Nunez and Clayton are not the type of central midfielders Leeds need if we are to be competitive. Assuming Becchio, Gradel, Snodgrass and Howson all play then nunez and clayton are at best warming the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good shout .......lets face it kilkeny + johnson wern't great playerers

Just to clear a couple of things up.

1. The new kit looks bland because its based on the 91/92 winning season - it's a retro style shirt.

2. Nobody ever said anything about us making 2 signings by today. Bates said he was looking at 4 players (now 3, having lost one) and should sign within the next COUPLE of weeks.

As stated 2 days ago - Lonergan has declined our wage offer and therefore talks have been cancelled.
Martin Jol has also stated that Stockdale is going nowhere (Swansea also requested him on a season long loan).
Woodgate is expected to sign for Stoke City over the weekend after holding 'positive talks' today, and Bowyer is also expected to complete his Ipswich signing later on today.

The deal involving Alan Smith has also stalled, due to him declaring he does not want to leave Newcastle and is just being ignorant and rumoured to have said that he never wants to play in the Championship.

The only player we are newly going after is Christian Poulsen on loan from Liverpool.

Source: I work for News of the World and tapped Uncle Ken's phone

Believable4 Unbelievable12

If thats the case then surely you must know the four players hes after then if you have tapped his phone ?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish. As if you took time out off your day to write all that. I know this is a rumours site but that was pathetic

Agree0 Disagree0

What rubbish Firstly, just because you miss out on your first choice signing you don't reduce the number of players you intend to sign, we will still be looking to sign 4 players Secondly Smith HAS ALREADY PLAYED IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP and finally if you do (or rather did) work for NOTW then enjoy your extended holiday

Agree0 Disagree0

No need for the tosser remark i don't think was a very legit question

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying go pay 20k a week to everyone but to get the experience we need I think we have to pay more than 9k.

Shall we play a game and guess how many goals Rachuba will let in for the whole season?

I will start with 59 {Ed014's Note - 74.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Well with casper letting 70 plus in over the season i will go for 95

Agree0 Disagree0

50 ... new defence hopefully OB and Kisnorbo at back + kasper was inconsistant last year so

Agree0 Disagree0

Wont let any in cos he aint going to be first choice

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know who rachuba is but i think if played rachubka would do better than kasper.

Agree0 Disagree0

None.. He wont f***ing play because he is going to be number 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully he wont concede any as we will get a much better keeper than him as number 1 and he will concede less than 60 hopes

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 16:38:52
i believe leeds will make signings (not nessacerily good ones) but do you all agree that the main signings should be GK RB CB LB and CM x3 (one of them as back up), we need these to make up a decent first team and if we dont we will NOT get a play-off spot, and all these rumours about woodgate and smith arent going to come true but there WILL be signings {Ed014's Note - I think 2 quality CBs is the priority for Leeds}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

ED - We already have 5 including Kissa back fit. CBs are not the priority, it was a DM we were lacking.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

I'm not sure Smithy will take enough of a cut in wages and I think Woody is going elsewhere

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you deduce that we're definitely signing Smithy? Wages are an issue and tbh Grayson's either being very coy or using old boys as a smokescreen for a lack of activity. Would love him to come back but I'm unsure at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds will also sign gary roberts of huddersfield for 350 000 pounfs

Agree0 Disagree0

Just wait till next summer. All you guys scared to death we haven't rushed to buy medioca players to replace Kilkenny and Johnson will be scared to death that we will lose Clayton and Nunas. Give these lads the chance they deserve instead of bringing in someone else's rejects.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

And when they get injured who do we put in then? exactly fans worries are for good reasons. we must buy.. look at leicester

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's this Nunas.. Dam another signing i missed

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you..... Leeds had lots of a slow league 1 players, technically lacking in many areas (johnson gave away 84 fouls last season poor pass completion rate and for a team that scored so many goals he didn't score or create that many) I'm glad that SG has let certain players go:

Kasper
Johnson
Kilkenny
Naylor
Higgs
Grella

Now time to let paynter, bessone, and connolly to follow them, we really needed this clear out.

If we take 1 thing from O'leary years its that leeds has a quality accademy look at how other teams have used it now its time for leeds to see the rewards for themselves.

Leeds lads, pace, technical ability, passion, aggresion its what buiilt this club

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry about Leicester. Their Thai Backers will have to introduce traditional Far Eastern Entertainment at Half Time to help pay for all their signings. Leicester won't be able to play the second half because of of all the Ping Ponk balls on the pitch.

Woodgate to Stoke will be a done deal Monday and Bowyer to Ipswich......anybody else got a feeling our friday deadline for 2 players is bull?

Believable21 Unbelievable12

Leeds have been a shambles this summer. Simon Grayson will be the 1st Championship manager sacked this season ... hopeless

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, Grayson has made a mess of things this summer. Papa Smurf will not break the wage structure so SG has to find realistic targets, which he is failing to do miserably.

Agree0 Disagree0

How the hell do you know this??? we're a week into the transfer window for gods sake, how do we know things have fallen apart because of wages....because a newspaper said so or because you're best mate with bates and he told you this? seriously guys, wake up a get a grip. If we lose the 1st game of the season are you going to be complaining that we won't win the league?

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody half decent are going to Leicester...Sven has a bottomless wallet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Errr...we wont win the league...West Ham and Leicester will be top 2 places...FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to disagree with you. It's obvious that Ken Bates is restricting what Leeds spend on wages. Did you sleep through the fact Kilkenny and Johnson left because Leeds wouldn't pay them £10K+ per week or the Kasper was sold because he wanted an increase on £10K per week wage to sign an extention to his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not blame our best players leaving, why come to LEEDS, everybody is turning us down
BATES please sell the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly not Leeds fans commenting on this. Grayson to be sacked is th emost laughable comment I have heard in ages

Agree0 Disagree0

Keeping johnson and killa on more than 10k a week?? why dont we bring seth johnson back on 30k p/w? have u all lost your mind?? can u not remember what happened 8yrs ago.?? was gradel not a good signing? let them do their business whenever they deem it fit. bates has said our target this season is the prem so let them do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

All Leeds fans need to be realistic. We have no money of note to spend on transfers, and a wage structure that will not be broken ( Rightly so ), preventing decent free transfers.

It will be a long hard season ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

I trust Grayson, not so sure about Bates but we should cut them a bit of slack...if Leicester werent spending we wouldn't be panicking as much

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely not What was it that our esteemed Chairman claimed?..."if we want 'em, we get 'em"

Agree0 Disagree0

Don t belive leeds will get any big names.no one will play for free.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should be panicking regardless of Leicesters activity, our squad is so bare and is possibly worse than it was when we were in L1, we need 5 signings as a minimum, we have lost 3 first team regulars, 4 loanees, and 2 squad players as it stands, bringing in a number 2 goalkeeper iN response, SHAMBLES I hope they arrive, but at the minute it's looking like our best 2 players will go before anything else

Agree0 Disagree0

Cannot not believe the negative comments. As has been said were barely a week into transfer window.Even if we dont get the big signings everyone is screaming for i would rather have an average side who are on an even financial keel than go back to the risdale fiasco where we are challenging but millions in debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chill out guys let bates and Grayson do what they are doing. if they balls up then we no what will happen we will be sold and new manager that what u all sound like you won't. Grayson will suprise us with signings so what has gone he was not that good just living his life from his dads name which upset the team. And as for 2 midfielders down have u forgot we have clayton who is class and was top reserve player befor he Whent out on loan also Nunez class and won player of tournament when he played in south America few month ago. Also we have the tuner twins who can play mid or defence and they are top players. Just give it time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Weve been through it all together and weve had our ups and downs, stand up and sing for Leeds United for we are the greatest in the land... remember LUFC fans we are the best supporters in the land lets get behind SG and sing our hearts out for the lads remember were not famous anymore...

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is, we are all talk and no action. Chasing players who sign for Premiership clubs is a great thing to say to us fans but at the end of the day it doesn't improve the quality of the squad.

What we see is not just Leicester, but WHU, Soton, Ipswich even Portsmouth enriching their squads. Unfortunately money does talk. Leicester have to spend big this year because the new financial rules won't let them in the future.

Thank goodness for Barnsley, Palace, Coventry, Doncaster and Watford.

I'm sure Larry knows what is he doing, his job is on the line, however his record on transfers is mixed and the sad truth is that the players who want to come will have to be youngsters or lower league players who get a pay rise when they move. This doesn't tally with the public statements about bring in experienced players as they won't come for the wages on offer, otherwise they'd be here by now.

In Grayson we trust, in the transfer window we wait, we wonder and watch to if there is anyone left desperate to play for a huge club in the Championship(yes we are huge for the Championship) on cheap wages.

Rant over. Come Larry, give us someone to believe in. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not that it makes me a better fan, but I've had a season ticket for the past 20 years or so, same as my brother(s), and I'm as passionate about the club as any other.

To date I've not criticised Bates or SG, but having checked the LUFC website at least a dozen times daily for the last 2 week's I can say that not only am I disappointed but I am getting more than a bit effed off.

The fact that, apparently, we won't pay enough wages for a relatively unknown keeper to come to us is embarassing and frankly the Club is taking the gypsies kiss. How Bates/ the Club can spend
£4/£5/£6 million+ on redeveloping the East Stand (the newest stand that we have) and hoping to pay for it through hoping to sell the new executive boxes is beyond me. At £28000 each per season it will take 7 years to recoup the outlay.

Why is the Football Club paying so much money to update a stadium that we do not own??

Simon Grayson is a good manager, but I'm sure that he must be embarassed and frustrated that such a fantastic football club, that has such a lot of income coming into the business, is unable to atract any players that not only excite the fanbase but also are able to provide a hope of getting back to where true Leeds fans believe we should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're the most stupid supporters in the land Paying premier league season ticket prices to watch what is, at best, a league 1 team

Agree0 Disagree0

But paying those prices for lower league football is Bates master plan ;)

Dont fully blame Grayson blame bates, a tool is only as good as its weilder

Bumped into Oli Dacourt in Greggs in Leeds, asked him if he was coming back. He said he was considering retiring and that he has offers from Lens in France to be a coach and an offer from Moyes at Everton to observe training while he does his badges. Not coming back to Leeds, but loves the club.

rumour has it that one day everyone will calm down, stop bitching about bates, grayson etc, not think that because the new shirt isnt all that great that we therefore can't attract players, stop whinging that we havent signed anyone significant even though we're only a week into the transfer window, stop crying about the east stand redevelopment, stop moaning about wage caps and not getting the club into financial trouble................i'm clicking the unbelievable button Will everyone just calm down for gods sake, lets make judgement at the end of the transfer window & end of the season

Thats like closing gate once horse has bolted

Agree0 Disagree0

Very well said - and to yet another negative poster and his reply it isn't like closing the gate after the horse has bolted because here is some news for you - we have no say over the transfers anyway Trust in Grayson and Bates who are doing a fantastic job despite all the negative nellies trying to abuse them

Agree0 Disagree0

I DO trust in sg and kb, which is why i con tinue to spend my hard earned in the name of LEEDS UTD , who we all love.but my patience is wearing thin.We the fans do our bit, we ve proved our loyalty, now its time for them to put their money where their mouth is .M O T.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Said and i have just seen Messi leaving Elland Rd with his new shirt Apparently he is relishing the chance to play for a top manager like Grayson (well we can all dream lol)

Basically were getting no one worth anything Leeds united, the football leagues version of a second hand shop. A home to everyone's hand downs and unwanted tat

Bates out......

Believable15 Unbelievable11

If it wasn't for Bates there wouldn't be a club Stop whinging, have faith. It Ken and SG we trust. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you or anyone want Bates out save up some money and buy the club. Otherwise at least back the club knowing that with Bates we will still be a profitable football club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, we will be profitable in league 1 next year.

Simon has been able to work wonders with the club's wise wage structure in the last couple of years by bringing in top notch players under the radar of all the other clubs.

Players like Fede Bessonne, Billy Paynter, Neil Collins, Sanchez Watt, George McCartney, Mike Grella, Gary McSheffrey and Shane Lowry have shown that they have the mentality to do well at Leeds United and are key pieces of the jigsaw in driving us forward.

We could go out there and pay average championship wages in order to secure a player that another club actually wants but I think everyone recognises that that would mean a return to administration and L1 football - something that would never happen under the current Chairman's wise leadership.

Pretty soon all the other clubs will have gone into administration through their reckless actions meaning Leeds United will be de facto Champions of England once more.

I for one am full of hope.

When did you see these players perform well? That is what is driving everyone mad, these players can't cut it yet this is the level of player we are signing. Just not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than Sanchez Watt the players you have listed were and are not good enough. I agree we do need to be careful with the finances but given our gates we should be able to keep the likes of Kilkenny and Johnson, as unlike the players you have listed those two lads were good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

I take it no one realised the sarcasm in the posters tone....

Agree0 Disagree0

McCartney, Watt definately good enough but the rest sorry but there just not ready

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel sorry for paynter hes just had a bad season admittidly he messed up the few chances he had last season i think if he gets his confidence back next season he impress i mean look at what he did in league 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

All those players sucked. is this a sarcastic post?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree give Billy a fair go lads. As for them saying ah yes but he only did it in League one .....what about Beckford he's done ok stepping up to Prem from L1.

Come on Billy, Come on Billy

Re my earier post. I was right about Lonergon. Demonstrates we will only get the players no other ambitious club wants. {Ed026's Note - Except for Everton......

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Ed - I think his point was because Everton wanted Lonergan we didn't get him. Only if nobody had wanted him would he have accepted Leeds offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

To Ed 026. Are you saying that Everton lack ambition? If so what does that make us? {Ed010's Note - I can't answer on behalf of Ed026, but read into it what you will ;)}

well looks like the Lonagon deal dead n buried blown it on personal terms.ie Wages n sumet to do wi Everton knockin....Well done agen Leeds ffs. We gunna get no one at this rate...time to start panicking..

Believable14 Unbelievable10

If Lonergan would rather warm the bench than be our number 1 it speaks volumes about the personal terms KB is offering. Personally I would be very happy with Stockdale but can't have many loan players cos it doesn't work in big matches

Agree0 Disagree0

Well everybody was complaining about the fact he might be coming anyway so if thats the case, we've had a lucky escape. patience is a virtue and we'll all be surprised and probably very pleased when we get the right players in.

Agree0 Disagree0

In all fairness to bates and leeds though, maybe it speaks volumes about lonergan that he would rather pick up a bigger wage that compromise a bit BUT play regular footy? If thats the case, we're better off without him, i want to see people at elland road who want to play for leeds NOT just pick up a fat wage

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit early to start panicking, transfer windows open for another 7 weeks yet

Agree0 Disagree0

As i said...Rachuba will be in goal at the start of the season....mark my words

Agree0 Disagree0

All good points ppl I only want players who WANT to put on the LEEDS SHIRT...Not money grabbing big ego men.....M.O.T
