On News Now there is a report of an unknown Manchester business multi millionaire that is thinking of making a move for Leeds United, it is said that he was part of a consortium to take over from the Venkys at Blackburn but pulled out of the deal for some reason. Does anyone know who this may be, could just be a load of rubbish but would be nice to have an English based multi millionaire if Cellino fails with his appeal.

1.) If he pulled out of deal for them because venkys are a joke can you imagine what he's going to find if deals with GFH & Haigh

2.) 28 Mar 2014 07:21:50
keep one eye on the Newcastle situation if a buyer comes in for them which is currently rumoured then watch Mr Ashley come in for us. watch this space

3.) The staff have been paid, I wonder who's paid them?

4.) Why would Ashley want leeds. No ground, no training ground and a pile of over rated players. He could try and sell the players to sports direct so on a Saturday instead of playing football they could work in his shops.

5.) Players' wages not paid.

6.) He bought Newcastle with 100 mill debt nothing different to buying the stadium and training ground back in our case. More to make taking a big club back up.

7.) I thought Melvyn Morris might be worth a shot looking to make half a billion.

8.) Wouldn’t be suprised if it’s . Ryan Giggs and all his other multi-millionare mates. Knowing our luck. (Already got Salford City). Way it’s going we’ll be playing them in the same division

9.) Behestwhite
Is your real name Victor Meldrew lol
Be positive our team are poor but not that bad ffs

Rumours have it that Scott Wootton will join Leeds from Manchester utd on tuesday for a nominal fee, David Moyes has agreed the move as he has a surplus of centre backs to call on if he needs to, what do people think? and is this guy any good? he fits Brian Mcs profile young and hungry but that is all I know of him.

white4ever.

white4ever

1.) Believe this will happen

2.) Great news

3.) All I know is young players who leave Manchester United never really make any kind of mark. And some leave for big money only to become lower league players and never step up to premier again. Who was the geezer with the goofy teeth that scored against us back in OLearys day and ended up at mk dons I think? One oof many overpriced young players who leave them and that's it! 750,000 for a reserve team player with maybe 3 full games behind him. **** I hate that club with all their arrogance and attitude. Maybe now after many years of clubs paying over the odds for their reject youngsters everyone has realised that they are not necessarily the best! let's hope BMD knows what he's doing and taking in another Manchester United reject?!

4.) If u dnt know of him how do u know he's hungry? he's useless and will not be any better than we have

5.) He's the lad that had a nightmare against Chelsea in carling cup semi last season, sold a back pass short gifted them a goal brought ramires down in box, but he's the cheapest option, plus he's from man utd so in my opinion could do better like mills from bolton.

6.) To Cork White: "Goofy" was played by LUKE CHADWICK

7.) Yes I stated that I know nothing of him, but I have read reports on him that also stated that he was young and hungry and put the question to my fellow Leeds supporters to see if they could verify those reports, thanks to those that gave a serious answer I appreciate it.

8.) There are some miserable bug$#rs on here! Young, been at both MU and Liverpool, will be cheap, worth a shout methinks.

9.) A pointless signing. McDermott said he needed an experienced CB to help Lees/Pearce. This lad has played about 3 Carling Cup games

10.) Paul Pogba?

11.) Michael Keane was a CB on loan at Leicester last season from Manchester United and he was quality so not all bad players but other than Giles and Starachs we have never had a good player from there

12.) Poster 3 - I think you are thinking of Luke Chadwick, a real oil painting!

Lets give Wootton a chance before condemning him. I think he captained their reserve side, has youth on his side and BMc will bring him on leaps and bounds. IMO I think he will develop into a good player given the chance

13.) Poster 3. Negative doomer and gloomer. Forget the past and trust in BM. He's not let us down so far . CW

14.) As an Irishman Corkwhite, you should know what an utter load of rubbish you've just posted . just to refresh your memory, could I remind you that a young Irishman left MU some years ago for Leeds United and he became, and still is a "legend" . his name? Johnny Giles.

If BMcD believes he's good enough, we have to support him and give him his opportunity to follow Giles . after all, the outlay is apparently "nominal".

JDC

15.) Wasnt it no other than a young Matt mills who was plucked from obscurity at Manchester city and was later sold for £5m. CW

16.) If you end up as a reserve player at the best team in the Premiership then you can't be that bad!

17.) Young players not doing well after leaving Man U?

Paul Pogba
Ryan Shawcross
Pique
Gusseppi Rossi

all I can remember off the top of my head. All doing pretty well after leaving Man u before their 22nd birthday

18.) The goofy geezer was chadwick "!

19.) 20 Aug 2013 09:05:40
Luke Chadwick was the goofy young professional you refereed too

20.) 20 Aug 2013 09:53:29
the negativity in these replies really is sad, seems the number of miserable leeds fans is on the grow again, bet you have a secret tenner on us getting relegated don't you CORKWHITE, stick to ireland its where your best

21.) Gerard Piqué. Ryan Shawcross?
Not all young players that leave Man U make the grade. Some do.

22.) Young and seems to have some good pedigree. Its like buying a Skoda when u know it has a VW engine. If he comes at the right price he may deliver in the Championship because let's face it. if he doesn't its all downhill to the basement

23.) It seems that Wootton is the plan B in this scenario. Obiously B-McD was looking for experience, but has found that the wages/funds were not right at this time. Considering that both our fit center backs came thought the last game in the wars, we need extra numbers there. It may be plastering over the holes, but the holes need plastering. Good luck to the lad, everyone has to start somewhere even if it is at the S**m

24.) I'll chuck another couple of young players leaving Man U, done well

Robbie Savage
Keith Gillespie

Wootton would be an excellent signing for us in my opinion.

25.) Phil Bardsley another, bloke who posted the above must be feeling a bit daft now lol.

26.) He was their researve team player of the year last season and for a nominal fee, has to be worth a shot.

27.) 20 Aug 2013 14:58:15
Keith Gillespie did well after leaving m u? don't think so only people he did well for after leaving m u was Ladbrokes!

28.) 20 Aug 2013 15:02:55
Trust in bm he's not let us down yet? Noel hunt 12k per week unused sub!

29.) Liam Miller did ok for us (albeit on loan), David Platt. he did OK. what about DAVID HEALEY? Is the message getting through, yet?
It's incredibly difficult to come through that Man U youth system and even get to the reserve team. Getting to the first team is nigh-on impossible for the vast majority of kids churning through the Man U academy and those who make it as far as the reserves lose a lot of development time not playing competitive games, seriously hampering their progress. This is the main reason that the above poster states that most youngsters who leave Man U achieve nowt. In the vast majority of cases, this is true but, those that make the cuts as far as getting to the reserves would be the best of the bunch.
If we get him, we'll be getting a player with a bag full of potential, you can be assured of that.

30.) Cork White. Call yerself "Cork" white and then says yers never seen anything by way of good young players come (our way) from United.

Now then: You might remember there was this 23 year old from Dublin who had played 93 games for United. and then transferred to us.

Probably best midfielder the club ever knew. Had a decided edge but also quick feet and floated the most poetic and accurate passes around ER and indeed any field he graced.

Johnny the Fox also had a splendid voice.

Lets make Wooton a legend.

Toronto White.

31.) 20 Aug 2013 17:36:49
Cant believe youve all forgotten to mention that on going success story that is Danny Pugh!

32.) Echoing others, give the lad a chance and trust that Brian Mc knows what he's doing.he's unearthed gems numerous times so far and as an ex chief/head scout knows what he's looking for, he's proven it time and again! The transfer fee sounds like its nominal and I'd guess his wages will be relatively low too so it sounds like a small risk with potentially everything to gain and solves a huge problem we have which is a severe lack of depth at centre back

al1977

33.) Cant believe no one mentioned giles or even strachan haha pessimists get a grip and give the lad a chance!

34.) To think we signed a cb from mu that has been kept out the side by nobodies in our reject rio and some Serbian bloke. Can't be much cop can he?!

According to an article on news now Ben Jacobs has confirmed by twitter that Brian McDermott is now the new Leeds United Manager, David Haigh and Salem Patel are on there way England to do a press conference tomorrow to confirm that the choice of manager is solely the choice of GFH and that no other third parties where consulted or involved with the decision i. e, Parkin.

white4ever

1.) 11 Apr 2013 18:07:07
Haigh is in the UK - tweeted at 1600 that he was in a warmer UK than last week - does that suggest he came over to meet McDermott? Unless he attended the away game at Charlton?

2.) I agree with this, as David Haigh tweeted earlier today about just arriving back in England, either for the game this weekend or Conference tomorrow (or both).
But I reckon it will be announced tomorrow which will mean that NR will still be in charge Saturday due to late appointment. If it was done today BM would be in for Saturday. So would not expect change for this weekend.

First game will be Burnley Tuesday.

3.) I won't believe it until Duncan Castles tells me it's so.

Gavin

Even if the manager walks or is pushed now will the story be any different next season? will GFH give the new manager the money to invest in the team to bring us to the required level needed to get out of this division? who ever comes into the club as the new manager will need the financial backing to be able to get the players we need to gain promotion, then the big questions start, even if we do get promotion next season will we be able to stay there? will the money gained from going up be used to keep us up or will they take as much as possible out of the club? looks pretty bleak if the past investment is any thing to go by, there must be someone out there that wants LUFC to get back to where they belong in the top 6 of the premier league and playing in Europe, I just hope for all our sakes we can find someone that really wants LUFC to succeed as a football club and not be used as a cash cow for individuals to make easy money off the backs off hard working and loyal supporters.

white4ever

1.) Top 6 of the premier league? as nice as it is to dream, those days are long gone mate, we may with a lot of investment go up, but the top 6 will never happen again.

2.) No nothing will change, if Warnock had been given the funds he would have done the job I'm sure, he's proven it so many times.

3.) Just what I was thinking to write (except mine would've gone on banter for some reason). 100% Totally correct, LUFC have suffered a long time of minimal investment and its now ground down the fans to breaking/giving up point. GFH put up or sell up
As for the first reply all I can say is you must be kidding or too used to the last 10 sh**te years to dream. Sky made it all about money we just need someone to give us some -it has happened to others.

4.) You won't get top 6 in this division, never mind premiership, utt

5.) 17 Mar 2013 10:47:58
I went to the game on Tuesday took the family. I haven't been for a while and I was stunned by the atmosphere. for as long as I can remember the fans have always been massively optimistic. Not now and I believe because they've finally realised that they are being shafted by the owners. Not one of those players on Tuesday is good enough to wear the shirt and we have no chance of promotion with current squad. This club is and should be s premiership tram capable of challenging for honours.

6.) What evidence do we have that we are being shafted by the owners? They have just come in in December, and have (quite rightly) decided to wait until the summer, and a new manager, before they start investing. Why bother spend loads of money in January if you know you're going to have a new manager and therefore a new team in the summer?

7.) Bates still in charge, Warnock still blowing his own trumpet and delivering nowt.
Getting into the playoffs would be nice if only put a million-or-so more in the coffers but, I've said before; I wouldn't want to go up with this squad or manager. This squad would be thumped by everyone in the Premier League and that would set us back about 5 years.
GFH is doing it right, so far.
Wait until after the summer and if you don't have a bright, rosy glow on your peacock colour cheeks, THEN start the condemnation.

If Billy Sharps proposed move to Leeds goes through I would have no hesitation playing him up front with Doukara, both very mobile should compliment each other quite well. And if fit, bring in at least one of the new centre backs and leave wootton on the bench. I just hope Byram stays around now, things could finally be looking up.

Let's face it Hockaday is an unknown by Leeds United standards but who the heck has done any good before him, not one of the so called big named managers we have had recently have done any good, maybe Grayson getting us out of div 1 but that is it really, give the guy a chance this is why he only has a two year contract, succeed or bye bye without to much expense, give him a chance he may just surprise us all and get us playing football again and showing some passion on the pitch.

Now the exodus is starting in earnest Peltier has left to go to Forest until the end of the season, Wickham, Peltier, who will be the next to leave the sinking ship.

Cellino has been disqualified from taking over Leeds United this morning, he has 14 days to appeal, with wickham going back to Sunderland and now this it only looks very grim for Leeds United in the near future, makes you wonder what was already known behind the scenes with Wickham leaving the way he has. As a life long Leeds fan it saddens me to think that this once great club is being driven slowly out of business by people that know nothing about football and the community that follows this great club, I only hope we can find another buyer quickly or this summer is going to be the same old stories again, and it is us who will be suffering the most day in day out week in week out it's enough to make you sick of the whole lot of it.

How about Gianfranco Zola as new manager, Italian, great footballer, likes his teams to play football, why not move for him if he is available.

Aiden White is just not consistent enough at the moment the only place he does show some promise is left back, but really does not show enough anywhere else on the pitch, he is fast but because of that he is much to light weight his distribution is poor and his crossing is woeful, and if you watch him closely he looses his orientation and his awareness of where he needs to be sorry but I think Stephen Warnock will be a better bet for the near future, like Eddie Gray keeps saying Aiden White will never be a forwardly mobile player even with his pace he has to be behind the play not actively moving forward that's why we need a winger in front of him to move the ball forward with quality the would give Aiden less to worry about and he would be able to concentrate and develop into the left back he promises to be.
