Matt Mills didn't feature for Bolton today. Wasn't on the bench either. Has been rumoured to Leeds.

With a gate approx 50% over the budgeted figure (ie 22000) plus the add ons in first game back shirt sales, other merchandise, programmes, refreshments etc the club made a substantial amount of 'bonus' money yesterday. This could be used to support the managers transfer plans, so a new player possibly on loan for the season could be correct.

Dougie freedman was raving how good he's been in pre season games, then not even make the bench. think he's on his way to us

Hope so - Lees and Pearce OK yesterday but both still have a lot to learn

5.) 04 Aug 2013
I'm hoping that its Mills or Gorkss. Peltier and Pearce were ok but Brighton walked their goal in yesterday with relative ease. Mills is a physcal CB and that's what we need. Perhaps the young guys will develop better with Mills amongst them.

6.) 04 Aug 2013
It wasn't Pearce and Lees that was the problem, it was Peltier and Tonge

7.) 04 Aug 2013
Think Lees is far from the finished article. He was off the pace and got caught out on more than one occasion yesterday. Don't think him and Pearce are a good defensive partnership and he could benefit from having someone like Mills at side of him

To the poster who thought Tonge was a problem you couldn't have been at the match. Tonge was excellent. Peltier looked out of sorts later on though. At one point I thought he was asking to be taken off as he was struggling fitness wise or through slight injury.

9.) 04 Aug 2013
Agree with post about Tonge. He was excellent yesterday an better than Green who IMO had a poor first half. Personally watching the game I felt we needed more from our wing backs too overlap given the formation. Got caught out time and time again down the left and Peltier had an average game and a good winger would have torn him apart.

It would help if some of those in the crowd were more encouraging of Peltier. The sort of abuse he was getting from one Leeds fan in the first half who was sat behind the away dug out would have not helped anyone's confidence. We are all in it together and we are all Leeds.

Tonge had a stormer. Well done Brian for keeping hold of him (proved he can be a good squad player this season)

12.) 04 Aug 2013
I'm not slating Peltier because he gives 110% but just saying playing that formation leaves gaps out wide opening up some of his defensive frailties. he would probably play better at 4-4-2 with a winger to feed

13.) 05 Aug 2013
For me peltier was our best defender v brighton and iv always thought he was good, but 4 his own good he should leave as if most leeds fans dnt rate him then he needs 2 go where they do rate him, no one gets a chance with most leeds fans. pearce also is a decent cb and lees. our problem is midfield and has been 4 along time. green is our only decent mid. austin, norris, brown, pugh are just terrible players. only thing I like bout austin is his tackles but his shooting is a joke. leeds fans have made him 2 sure of himself now he shoots from 40 odd yards just pathetic.

14.) 05 Aug 2013
We used to love it when Batty skied it from 40 yards out. In fairness, though, he wasn't often tempted even with 20,000 urging him to SHOOOOOOT.
Maybe we should start shouting PAAAAASSSSSS at Austin.

Anyone complaining about Peltier clearly weren't at the Brighton game. He had a storming game defensively, when he got forward he wasted chances by taking too long on the ball and hoofing it into the box, but he's never been an attacking defender! I reckon he should play CB with Lees and let Byram come back in, who can attack!
