Lets put this into perspective If there was still a chance of a play-off place and he refused to play then fair enough but with us finishing 7th and no chance of making the 6th place why would he risk breakings his leg with no contract signed? Its like going Skiing with no insurance you don't do it and Monk should of looked at Charlie's situation and thought yes that makes sense I will put Denton or another youngster in but he didn't he chose to make it awkward for Taylor out of spite because he wants to leave. Now say Charlie broke his leg in that match and was out for 6 months with no contract which premiership team would of took him then? and would we want him? I think not we would of said on your bike like we did Davide Somma.

Last time I checked Hardy, Charlie Taylor was contracted to Leeds United. Until otherwise, he's required to play for Leeds United when called upon and to refuse to play is a disgrace. Injury can happen at any point so it's not a justification at all and to be honest, you seem to be the only one on this page (and one of the only Leeds fans in general) who thinks that Charlie Taylor is within his rights to refuse to play! I know for one thing that if I refused to go to work I'd be out the door the same day.

It's quite simple, he was under contract. Fine him as much as possible. If he won't stick to his contract it shows what kind of person he is. He could have played and bottled every 50:50 tackle but instead he decided to not even show up. Classy guy your friend is!

Player is under contract to Leeds United therefore if fully fit should really do as the club tell him. If he did this and if that happened does not really come into it. I can see the point you're making and if Garry Monk and the club had said he could miss the game, then that's a whole different story but to refuse to do what you're being paid to do is in breach of his contract, surely?

I wish Charlie Taylor well in his future but its starting to end like this with a lot of players at a lot of clubs and it's all down to agents advising their clients wrongly. The sooner players have to speak for themselves and not through ruthless money grabbing agents who lurk behind the scenes sensing their next pound can't come soon enough for me.

He did have a contract signed, it's the same one he has had all season which means he is a Leeds player until it ends or until he moves on so he should play if picked. It's a shame it's ended the way it has for him as he was a good player for us.

Charlie Taylor aside, it's been a great season. Echo the sentiments of the majority and to sign Garry up. Only a fool wouldn't, but alas we seemed to be blessed with them sometimes. Laughed when Reading and Fulham, Huddersfield and Sheff Weds laughed at us, because 3 out of the 4 will have achieved the same as us come the end of the play offs, a top 10 finish lol.

Would of rather been in them than 7th of course but with wise investment in key areas I firmly believe we're not far off surpassing our achievement this season and aiming higher than that. I'll go on record now and say with Garry Monk signed and 5 major signings, we'll win the league. I fear no one coming down, nor anyone in the division, so let's aim higher next time around.

The only things missing were man management and common sense. I can see both sides yes, if asked he should have played, but was it worthwhile picking a man who clearly does not want to be there in a nothing game. Surely better to have a look at a youngster and save the recriminations. I would suggest that anyone clearly fully employed by a company but working their notice, before moving a far higher paid sunshine job, would find some way to wriggle out of a shi**y assignement on his last day. Especially if it carried a possibility of injury. I would either cop a sickie or do the job half hearted and when the firm had to send someone to complete it I would be long gone. My employers however would know this and, I would hope, send someone else in the first place. Maybe another way out would be to play and "pull a hamstring" after 10 mins. Who is to say which is the more ethical. Yes you are right he is a Leeds player but common sense must prevail.

Any leeds fan would give up their soul to play one minute for LUFC.

Hardy, you are missing the point. I agree there is a risk and then he would be out of contract. But that situation only arose because he refused to sign a new and improved contract previously. That is the risk that he took, not LUFC. The same applies if he had signed a contract and then got injured, only then Leeds would have the risk, hence the purpose of a long contract. He could of easily got injured with two games to go, which is why I don't understand why he made this decision, he must of known the response he would get.
