So the Shane Long to Leeds rumour doesn't look so far fetched anymore does it? I'm not going to claim any insider knowledge but as he is now quite possibly 4th choice at West Brom it make sense for him to go and get some regular football/get his confidence back. Long and Albrighton form Villa would be perfect An outside gamble on Neil Taylor from Swansea, been out injured for a long time (still a week or so away from fully fit) and would benefit form seem game time

Not a chance that Long will come to Leeds as Hull will sign him on loan. Long is probably on about £40K a week and Hull will be able to cover that wage

Seeing as the window for premier league teams loaning/signing players has now closed I find it very hard to figure out how Hull will sign Long. While they may return for him in January I think it's a safe bet that both he and West Brom will want him to get as much playing time as possible and where better than under a manager whom got him playing the best football of his career. I highly doubt he is on 40k a week, try about 25-30k and Leeds don't actually have to pay the whole percentage

Clearly I have my facts wrong regarding the loan window however I still stand by the point that Long will not sign for Leeds. West Brom were willing to let Long go but they still require 4 strikers and he is one of them. If he does go on loan, West Brom will want to cover the wage as much as possible as they are a financially prudent club. Do you really think that a £5m rated striker will not interest Reading, Forest, Bolton, Wigan who can all offer circa £15K-£20K of his wage instead of Leeds who will struggle to pay £10K?
