Well that has just driven a bus thro our Plan A recruitment. Hopefully the biting disappointment will redouble our efforts to recruit one or two QUALITY new faces. I say one or two because I and many others, have utmost faith in many of the U23s.

The three signings we did make were actually pretty poor . Bamford a wet lettuce . Douglas left his form at Wolves and Casilla I despair charging out like a bull in a china shop!

only plus of not going up it gives many under 23s a chance and i honestly believe that will be good for us in the long run.

Bermo that's where I am pinning a lot of my hopes; IF there actually is no money to spend. With them and wise use of the loan market, we can go again next year.

I'd agree on the one or two quality new faces needed - with a caveat re the need to also replace any quality that leaves (hopefully with that kept to a minimum) .

I'd also agree that there will be a number of U23s ready to step up next season - and you never know, if given a chance again in Pre-season Wilkes and even some of the other returning loanees may have a Klich-like transformation of fortune. We may yet see Grot in the line-up with Bogusz at some point next season.

After we get over our immediate disappointment and a summer of despondency etc, we might end up reflecting that not going up this season was not the worst thing that could've happened. For one thing, it gives more of a chance for a core of U23s to progress into the first team squad and maybe, just maybe it could see the beginning of our own version of some other club's class of '92.
