know a few people who are close to leeds players and the news coming out of the camp is that paddy kenny is a virtually done deal, he has gone under the spotlight recently but has been everywhere with warnock!

Believable21 Unbelievable6

Can't honestly say that a new keeper would be a top priority! Bit of a wasted transfer fee?

I've heard a rumour going round that Danny rose and Fabian delph could join on a season long loan in July. Clint hill is apparently a target, as well as header helgusan and Rob hulse. Warnock likes a lot of strikers st his clubs. Joel ward is a target, paul green, Dave norris an Sasa papac

Believable9 Unbelievable33

These would be good albeit unlikely signings. Rose and Delph definitely.

Like most Leeds supporters, I'm waiting for the Kenny / Hill / Ward / Green / Halford ins and LUFC outs and for some more exciting fresh rumours like this and Conor Wickham!

Agree0 Disagree0

After Danny Roses outbursts regarding Leeds no thanks

Connor Wickham to go on loan to the northern club, they say that his fine prowess in front of goal is what leeds need for that final push for a promotion place. MOT

Believable10 Unbelievable24

Hi, a couple, maybe two three things, who are the "they" who say?
What club is " the northern club"?
"fine prowess in front of goal", would it not benefit Leeds more to have someone who can score goals, rather than show bravery and skill? He hardly set the world alight at Ipswich. I take the ball it the net every time.
Oh, and the Warlock has said he wants to leave Leeds with something to build on when he goes, so that would indicate that loanees are likely to be few and far between.
I await your reply to clarify what for me is a vague post, or was it made up?

Many Leicester fans reckon a swap deal involving Beckford and Clayton may well be on the cards.

What a deal that would be for us! Yes please!

Believable27 Unbelievable11

We cannot afford his wages. He would have to cut his wages by over half to satisfy bates, can't see that happening

Leicester sign Vardy from Fleetwood for a fee in excess of £1m.
Beckford will bw allowed to return to Leeds.

Believable27 Unbelievable23

One problem with your Beckford plan - Leeds have not expressed an interest in taking him back and would not match his wages anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would of rather taken a punt on vardy !! mot nicky bee

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to remember that you dont have to match his current wage which is around 35k as he will have to take a pay cut to 20k to comply with the fair play rules. Im not saying Kenneth will pay that either mind.

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see it happening, Beckford turned down 10K per week to stay at Leeds, cant see uncle now turning round and saying oh well we will pay you it now!

Believable23 Unbelievable25

I really hope so, I see he just got released by norwrich, he was brilliant there and at Millwall.

Unoted looking to RAID watfords youngsters with Tommie Hoban and Sean murray looking to come for a combined fee of £400,000. Very talented, could be great for the future of whites!
MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable28

Brilliant -get the impression NW wants to leave a legacy, not just a bunch of hard-to-shift long-in-the-tooth one season wonders: hence please no Derrys, Smiths, Owens etc. One Brown is enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous comment. Neil Warnock has stated his intention to get Leeds promoted within ONE year, why would he waste valuable transfer money on players who won't play til he's left?

Agree0 Disagree0

Know a couple of Watford fans and there is no way they will let him go for 400,000 on his own, let alone with another player transfer fee included in that

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2012 16:54:26
Zak Whitbread has been released by Norwich. Deffo worth a punt. A back four of Pearce, Whitbread, Ward and Halford would be one of the best in the Championship

Believable40 Unbelievable7

Ssn say witbread is in talks with boro so looks like we might of missed out

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely Tom Lees has got to be in there somewhere. Definitely a player for next season, thought he was class the season. Really stepped up to the mark!

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom Lees is a good prospect, but he's no first team regular. If Warnock gets his main targets, then Lees will be a good sub to bring on, & to cover injuries/suspensions. The boy will grow into the role, but it's unfair to throw him in at the deepens like Grayson did.

Was he not only on loan at City in the first place?

SKY SPORTS WEB PAGE...NW is an admirer of clint hill, who according to NW is one of several players on a bosman...he said hill is the man that has kept qpr together this season, and would like to have him. there are another one or two to arrive in the next week. hill would do us with proud with the new singning pearce. what you think ed. {Ed013's Note - I think he will be a good signing for a season. We have to see if he is offered a new contract at QPR first}

Believable31 Unbelievable3

Throught we were after young hungry players is hill not 33 {Ed013's Note - hungry with a combination of experience. Why can't someone still be hungry at 33! some players play til nearly 40}

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if he's offered a new deal at QPR, he isn't guaranteed to sign it. He won't get many games for them and I can't see him being happy sat on the bench all the time at his age. {Ed013's Note - Agreed}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thomas Brollin was hungry... too f****ng hungry, but I wouldn't want him to sign.

He couldn't tell me who they were but they agreed terms and just have to pass medicals.

i recon they are Paul Green and Ivan Klasnic!

Believable15 Unbelievable33

Joel Ward and Paul Green

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, this is an "ask Ed", Ed, did Paul Green make Traps final squad for the Euros?
I was thinking that he may try to shop window himself during the tournament, as a lot of players do, before making up his mind on a move.

tRip {Ed013's Note - I haven't seen the final 23, but he was on the standby list}

Agree0 Disagree0

Green wants his future sorted before the euro's. so no need to worry on that score mate, it was all in the post about it. mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Green made the stand-by list. So at present, no he isn't going to the Euros.

Expect any of these players to sign before the start of the season:

Joel Ward
Greg Halford
Tommy Smith
Jason Puncheon
Jermaine Beckford
Joe Mattock
Clint Hill
Sasa Papac
Paul Green
Sol Bamba
Neil Danns
Richie Wellens
Anthony Gerrard
Mark Hudson

JordLUFC

Believable30 Unbelievable19

4-5 of those and I'll personally be very happy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ward halford smith mattock green and hudson could all happen the rest are unlikely either due to wages, fee or joining are joining other clubs as gerrard has all but signed for ipswich and hill is likely to stay on at qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here, I can honestly see some kind of swap deal with Leicester for Adam Clayton but god knows which player we would get? Hopefully Beckford to be honest and could drop wages slightly to come back to us rather than another championship club mainly becuase of the fair play rules.

Jason Puncheon is definately a target as Warnock snole him from under our noses to take him to QPR and we do need someone on the left hand side, most likely to replace White.

And Hudson or Luke Chambers would be good alongside Pearce.

JordLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Dream on do you think we leeds utd will get anyway near the quality youve mentioned with bates in charge. I have no doubt that NW can do a job but bates will not and i say will not give a wad of cash a few little signing here and there again lacks ambition from bates. You will see deals falling through as the weeks enfold same ol same old im afraid MOT bates out

Leeds looking to bolster there defensive prospects next season, to ensure this Leeds look towards out of favour leicester CB Sol Bamba. Bamba ,27, has been out of the leicester squad now for a while and is said to be unsettled at the club. Bamba would be a great addition to the Leeds defense and would certainly get a first team place alongside Jason Pearce. MOT! {Ed037's Note - He played against Leeds for the full game if i remember rightly, therefore he's not really been out of the Leicester team for a while}

Believable18 Unbelievable11

Agree with. he was on of their best players when we played them last game of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unlikely to get him, but he is really good. Against Leicester he was the best player on the pitch by miles.

And he played just in front of the back 4. Would be a good signing as he is versatile, big and strong

Neils going to quit Leeds because the limited transfer budget, "Bates your a laugh, this sum is for a league one team!"

my source says that Bates plan B, is to give Neil Redfearn a go for next season if he cannot get Barnsleys manager Hill.

You heard it here first!

Believable7 Unbelievable61

Warnock was live on Sky earlier, he sounded quite pleased with the progress being made with potential transfers in mind. And commented that he expected two more in the next 7 days. Why Barnsley fans would post on here is beyond me lol, keep your League 1 Manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody knows how much as been offered for these players and wages , think we should just calm down abit and be patient, and hill from barnsley haha, they would have gone down if pompy had not gone in to admin

Agree0 Disagree0

Your chatting about thing you have no idea about and your source is an idiot,Neil knows there isn't millions and is on a tight budget, just shut up moaning and get behind the club or go follow man city,

Agree0 Disagree0

So the interviews NW did with SKY Sports, the YEP and picked up by the BBC saying that he was happy with his lot at Leeds, couldn't wait to get started, had no issues with Bates and was comfortable and realistic with the budget he has been given to work with are all complete rubbish then? According to your source of course!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whos your source?,must be mad Jack Macmad,if this is the best you can post,go post crap on another site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously a Villa fan who thinks NW would be a better bet than Mick Macarthy and thinks he can destabalise the team that will replace them in the EPL in 2013. Dream on, NW is here to stay and I for one am more than happy about that. Slingsby White

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this guys needs to get of the source!

Neil is not a quitter and would not have taken the job if the budget was an issue.

Some people need to grow up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock's already said he's happy with the budget and knows what he has to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would bates do that to warnock surely he knew the situation before he signed. bates had the chance to give redfearn the job but appointed warnock even bates isnt that daft.

Believable7 Unbelievable40

1 word. wages. pretty sure hes on about 40k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

To correct you......he's on nothing at the moment at all other than the interest on his bank balance as his contract has been terminated. I think he'd be great in the championship....played well against us last season i seem to remember

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a leeds fan and would love to see this happen, but unfortunately OWEN himself has said.....

The 32-year-old said he would "contemplate his next move" during a short holiday, but was not ready to give up his top-flight playing career.

"The Championship is not an option," he said. "I'd like to think I haven't lost the ability to score goals at the highest level.

"I may look further afield."

Joel ward is very interested in signing for Burnley. He is impressed with their style of play and the ambition they are showing in signing young players with bags of potential such as charlie austin, Kieran Trippier and current target adam clayton. He is thought to be unimpressed with warnocks decision to sell clayton and keep brown.

And I can tell you something he's not the only one.

Believable12 Unbelievable30

Why would anyone be impressed with Burnley? We shall see who signs Ward won't we. I think Burnley fans posting on Leeds sites, shows the desperation to be included in a real fans forum. Clayton is available though for 1 million lol

Agree0 Disagree0

''And I can tell you something he's not the only one''. the tag line says it all.... you are making it up to promote your inconsequential opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

His decision wont be based on keeping brown and not clayton. silly post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bundles highest payed player in prem was less than what clayton is asking for per week so he would not be going there and burnleys traing facility's are like a public park compare to thorp arch so can not see ward liking that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I genuinely find that very hard to take seriously. People are looking for reasons for Ward's delay in signing -stop fretting, these things take a while sometimes!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see us sneaking this Ward guy ahead of Burnley. Can't understand why Warnock is letting go of Clayton and keeping Brown. For me Clayton was player of the season, really proved himself and deserves a better contract, albeit not 45K a week or whatever it was. Brown is total rubbish, old, slow and too over the top with tackles, he broke someones leg this season! Shows exactly what he is about! Keep Clayton and get rid of Brown.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are Burnley even big enough to have a rumours page? Maybe that's why their fans want to use ours. Bless.

I'll throw this out there before everyone else does the same... Michael Owen released by Man United - potential 'shout' considering the impact Kevin Phillips has made at Blackpool this season?

Believable10 Unbelievable27

Incredible if true but where would the money come from? Pay as you play would be good for getting the likes of Owen and Hargreaves as it would indicate ambition, persuade the better players to stay and possibly attract a higher quality of new recruit for the next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael owen on skysports this morning stated that if he couldn't join a prem club he would look elsewhere but not the championship-FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen has stated he won't drop a division. He wants to remain in the Premiership.
Source Sky Sports

Whether he gets any offers remains to be seen, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few clubs would take a punt on him.

Steveo

Agree0 Disagree0

What a ridiculous idea! As with Smith, we'd be paying a fortune for another player who played his best football a decade ago. Hasn't done much at any level since leaving Liverpool -and that was in 2004! England only kept picking him for a bit after that because of sentiment -nostalgia for his best England moment -and that was in 1998! Wake up, it's 2012 -and stop this obsession with 'famous names' -this is a football club, not a Panini album!

Beckford will return to Leeds on Friday For a straight swap for McCormack, apparently Beckford has fallen out with Nigel Pearson and he wants shut. Leicester will also pay 3k per week towards his wages for the first 12 months.

Believable19 Unbelievable19

Can't really see this happening, especially with Leicester paying towards his wages. I would love it if it happened though. McCormack has done well for Leeds but lacks pace which has cost us goals at times this year. Beckford has massees of pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack has had the most shots on target in the championship this year, unlucky not to have converted more. Would rather have both than one or the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford has masses of pace but requires about 10 chances to score

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love it........but not in my lifetime im afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this isnt true. I like Rossco. He may not be the quickest but he is very good technically. Still want Beckford to :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure Beckford is the one, he hasn't done much since he left LEEDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Has master bates been on the whacky baky? More chance of ayrton senna riding shergar at wembley on saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

MCormack has better finishing and I for one would not trade. Beckford didnt deliver, despite pace at Everton and didnt deliver either at Leicester. He ended up being a bit of a donkey just before he left us and whilst I like what he did for us, I also remember how he failed to deliver on numerous occassions

Agree0 Disagree0

Too lazy for NW he wants hungry players who want to die for the team.... he's had is time!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicester will have to contribute a lot more the 3k/week to make it work......Beckford is on 35k/week.
Interesting the Pearson is falling out with their highest earners in Beckford & Mills

Agree0 Disagree0

I would bite their hands off! Beckford is the real deal, whereas McCormack, though he has good ball skills, has been a difficult player to integrate wherever he has been. He isn't big enough, and doesn't hold up the ball well enough, to be a target man, and he's not really quick enough to play off one. Lack of pace also makes it difficult to play him on the wing. I would trade while his stock is high.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack is better than Beckford, so this would be a bad deal.

heard we have missed out on WARD,GREEN and HILL
here we go again

Believable23 Unbelievable19

Heard directly from a legitimate source or heard from rumours?
By the way if Hill resigns for QPR we haven't missed out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wil change at leeds until bates as gone when will u fan understand that bates is only at leeds for your money and dom:t give a fuk about leeds utd its will be the same s**t as last year we misses this player and that player bulls**t bate out

Agree0 Disagree0

Sick of people complaining and being so negative its only 17th May season starts 3rd week in AUGUST stop whining! they dont want and come play for leeds their loss, as of yet we havent missed out on anyone! I trust Warnock will get what he needs out of bates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates bashers are usually illiterate and have no cogent arguement, as highlighted by the last remark. Wind your neck in and wait and see what happens. No one on here has a clue what is really happening. By definition rumours are not a statement of fact. Having said that I read this site from time to time as it makes me laugh. It also gives my self esteem a lift because i realise that i am not as stupid as i thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can he not give a S*** and only be there for the money? Money from the club comes from success, or a decent sale of the club. He wont get that if we don't perform.

Stop talking nonsense, and get behind the club. This is a time for optimism, not pessimism or petty hate campaigns.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, whoever wrote that last post is either drunk or an small child.

Nice to see unity from the Mighty whites fans, I'm also sick to death of hearing how we've missed out on so and so and so and so wants more wages than we can afford. Just have a bit of patience and wait and see what unfolds through the summer. I for one did not want Warnock but he has completely won me round with his honesty and straight talking, exactly what we need and as for all the rumours as to who we are signing just trust Colin to sought us out and get behind Leeds instead of constantly criticising things that haven't even happened yet

Alan smith is NOT coming back to Leeds, he was interested but spoke to Batty about his experience when he returned, he said he enjoyed it but didn't feel the same, it was like going back to an ex girlfriend, just enjoy the memories he has.

Believable23 Unbelievable17

Yep, sounds about right, he wouldn't be good enough and it be dissapointing, just don't smithy.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a pity, I wouldn't of minded him coming back, nobody would wear the shirt with more pride, even for a season the go into coaching within the youth but I've heard Newcastle want him to do that

Agree0 Disagree0

He will retire after what happened the other night...

Agree0 Disagree0

Good. One of the most overated 'strikers' ever to wear the shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

You do know that you're just quoting the interview from Fenners that was done back in February, that view is widely known anyway, not that he's going back, not saying he is, but all you are doing is paraphrasing that, just saying

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said this was recent, I'm just stating the facts, hopefully shut the rumour mill up

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank goodness, would only end in tears -and very expensive ones at that. We need the Smithy of 2000 -yes, it was that long ago- and he ain't coming back! Let's show a bit more imagination, and look for a youngster as hungry and driven as Smithy was way back then -hopefully one with the speed and skill that Smithy lacked, which is precisely why his star sadly waned very quickly once that first flush of youthful energy was extinguished by injuries. Would be a disaster.

More like his experience or ability wouldnt be the same......damage control

According to Phil Hay, the team that are in for Clayton are Burnley, although they haven't as of yet made an official offer

Believable19 Unbelievable3

I just wonder if the rumours of 600K are accurate or not. I kinda feel he's worth at least a cool million. We shall see. We'll never find out the true amount anyway as Papa Smurf will not disclose details.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd never get a million for him. Not that he's not a decent player but he's only had one year first team experience, one year left on his contract, and we are actively looking to sell. Half a mil maybe a bit more is about right given the circumdtances.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if we gonna let him he go that cheap id rather keep him for our promotion chase and let him go on free or if we get promoted let him decide if he wanna stay i rekon we could use him till jan and get 500k for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Burnley are really going for the young squad, but I thought they might have gone in for Joel Ward.

I think we can push the price up from 600k , if a few more clubs become interested then think we might squeeze 1m out of a club.

Hopefully moneybags Leicester will pay over the odds for him.

(Mickey1992)

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd only be able to push the price up if someone bids and we reject it. If we acept for example half a mil from burnley then let clayts speak to them, anyone else only had to match that figure not better it to speak to him as well. I just think realistically in championship terms we will not get near to a million quid for clayton nor do I think we expect to.
