I see GFH have released a new statement saying from the beginning of this deal, upto now, there sole aim is to own ER, TA, LUFC and to invest (and i quote) "HEAVILY" in the club to take us back to the promised land by the end of next seadon at the latest.
Sounds good to me

It doesn't say anywhere about owning ER, TA, LUFC and to invest (HEAVILY) on the team, so your reading of what they actually stated (from NewsNow) is rather strange. I noticed that you didn't state that they had praised Bates for the way he has run the club since taking it over.
Agree0
Disagree0
From my previous reply, the word "heavily" is only used by The Scratching Shed and NOT GFH. Having an 'understanding' is not gospel truth, it's we think this might happen, but if it doesn't then we didn't say it would.

You can assume that heavily could be the key with their ambitions. Otherwise their ambitions won't come to fruition. MOT

Beckford signed on loan till December for CleckHuddersFax, that's the end of that rumour then. Would have made a difference but I personally think kenwyn Jones would be a better player to make an impact. Robbo 77

This must be our lucky week!
Beat Forest & Everton, Bates leaving and the icing on the cake non return of 1 goal in 5 atemps Beckford.
Things can only get better.

He left us to and be a bit part player at eveton(perhaps didnt get a fair amount of starts)But thats bcus of his limitations at that level. He then was sold to leicester(everton needed the money)and clearly wasnt happy about that(see his record and the fact leicester fans are happy to get shut!)Also he was offered to us twice last season kb,and more importantly WARNOCK!said no.I wish becks all the best,(but not against us obviously)KEA

That FA Cup winning goal at Old Trafford ruined Beckford.Only my opinion mind tho

(1) 3pts against an unbeaten Forrest,
(2) We knock an in form Everton out the cup (and deservedly so).
(3) The takeover confirmed
(4) In Warnock we trust,
Add that the fact that most players returning to a former club fail to live up to what they were before and I for one would be happy to keep the Beckford era at Leeds as was that way he remains a Leeds hero - come on you WHITES

Has anybody thought that mr.warnock may not want jb?

Stop living in league one. He's not even proved himself at championship level. Get over it
Agree1

I too am bitterly disappointed that we missed out on Beckford but also have to agree with the previous post about Warnock not moving for him. As much as I have wanted Becks to come home I've always felt Warnock has had somebody else in mind.

Wiil he make a difference NO he's a good div 1 player only not Championship quality at best a bench sitter Kenwyn Jones far better player if we could land him

Beckford has joined The Udders on loan, think we've missed out on a good signing , he would have been a good boost to the squad and it would have been great to see him back in a Leeds shirt.

Read most other posts mate. His goal scoring record at Leeds was excellent and McCormack is injured, also getting loan players in of his quality at this stage of the season is very unlikely.

I hope this is true as he scored 20 goals in 23 games whilst being on loan at Feyenoord last season {Ed020's Note - he's a goal machine!!!}
Agree0
Disagree0
Wonderful if true! But hard to see NW calling HIM a squad player? Potential to score in every match at this level - just look what he did in Holland!
Agree0
Disagree0
This guy is a good player. But i don't believe you can trust peoples scoring record from the holland league. Look at kuyt, alfonso alves, suarez all amazing goal records over there but then cant score in the english league. All good players but the Dutch defences make them look better than they are. {Ed020's Note - we are in the championship tho which is a major differance}

Where has he said the loan striker is a squad player

Add kezman to the 'flops from the Dutch league' list. Although I agree with ed, there's a huge gulf in the prem to the champ. I think guidetti would be a quality add to the squad!

Well we can make sure we keep Austin - just dont give him the Captains armband and Norwich will be gone!!
PeteMOT
Agree0

Austin is a new signing and can't go anywhere, and Diouf wouldn't get near the spurs first team.
Agree0
Disagree0
None of the clubs stated have shown any interest in Austin and would not do so anyway as he is a contracted player and would command a large fee. Made up post by someone, perhaps the same person who uses 'i' all the time and makes up as much as they can.
Agree0
Disagree0
This is tripe, rudy has just signed and would easily go for 3 million. Diouf likes living up north and loves leeds!
Agree1

Another person trying to stir, even now that leeds will no longer be a selling club. maybe we can send scouts to the clubs mentioned, tho i doubt any of their players will be good enough

Neil Warnock was awaiting an answer today after lodging a bid for a loan striker ahead of Leeds United's clash with Bristol City.Warnock made his approach for the unnamed forward earlier this week and is looking to complete the signing in time for tomorrow's Championship game at Ashton Gate.
The United manager has been searching for additional strikers since the Football League's emergency loan window opened on September 8 and he has been linked with several players in the past fortnight despite the lack of transfer cash at Leeds and his recent claim that "most of my targets have already gone."
Reading's Simon Church and Stoke City pair Cameron Jerome and Kenwyne Jones have all been named as possible targets, and former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford could also be available with his Leicester City career in serious doubt.

Whoever it is being called 'just a squad player' b4 he's even signed hardly does anyhting for his confidence if he does sign or encourages him to sign in the first place. I wonder about NW sometimes, could choose his words more carefully.

That's quite a large amount for the january window when the current team doesn't really need more than around 4/5 million spending on it to be competitive. -DB
