I'm not one for posting crap but heard from a reliable source that Leeds did have the funds for Ward and terms had been agreed the stumbling block was his girlfriend didn't want to move North due to family commitments, he has even dropped 2k in wages from what Leeds offered to stay down south

FACT

Believable24 Unbelievable5

Big Mistake!! I think he may regret that didn't join us

Agree0 Disagree0

He should have left her there and found a classer bird in leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Who gives a f**k, not good enough for leeds anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree Ward is a fantastic player, and is good enough for Leeds.

If it was actually true, then I would have a lot of respect for Ward. Too many players move because the money is better elsewhere, and it is great to see a player consider his personal life.

I honestly thought that Ward went to Palace, because neither Leeds nor Ipswich could raise the funds, and when Palace offered, Ward had a move that would satisfy him and Portsmouth.

Would have love to have seen him at Leeds, but best of luck to him.

(Mickey1992)

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is true, we know who wears the pants in their relationship. Decent player, petty he couldn't grow a pair and join the mighty whites!

Agree0 Disagree0

If money was the issue, dont you think we'd've heard more from Warnock about not being backed?

If we didn't have the money, why would we get to those stages of negotiation?

This sounds pretty plausible to me.

club estimated value between 35 and 55 million would now expect due diligence to take place over the next 2 weeks only stubbling block i see is ken bates wants to remain on board,

Clingon lol! bet he hasn't been called that since his playground days!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not been funny but i can garante that half of that team will not be at leeds this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Uless bates admits he owns the stadium the clus is not worg 35 million our value is on playing staff only

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot to include michael duberry, He's lookign for a return to leeds and as far as im concerned he would fit in well nd sure up the defence! FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

If we did get some investment why would we spend it on past it injury prone ex scummers?

Agree0 Disagree0

On 21 January 2012, Micheal Duberry scored a hat-trick which included two own goals followed by a last-minute equaliser as Oxford drew 2–2 with Hereford United. Duberry scored once with his left foot, once with his right, and once with a header—usually regarded as a 'perfect' hat-trick.[16

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same Owen who wont play in the Championship?

Paddy Kenny & Lee Peltier set to sign for Leeds in the next three week with a takeover from chicago buisnessmen willing to invest a lot of money into the team.
ConnorMOT!

Believable32 Unbelievable27

How do we know this then... Please post some solid source or proof that we have defo bin taken over... becos its all speculation at the minute

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want Peltier if Leicester don't?..Pearson obviously doesn't rate him if he is willing to let him go

Agree0 Disagree0

Think about Pearson has took leicester in the wrong direction, buying the wrong players, falling out with them ect. We have Warnock who can make any player he wants to buy or keep a totally different player, Peltier is a proven championship player.

Just heard that to raise more money that the naming rights for Elland Road have been sold and is now gonna be known as the Macron Arena. You heard it here first... {Ed013's Note - Either way, we will always call it Elland Road. If it brings money in to gain promotion then so be it. They can call it what they want, but the fans will never change}

Believable17 Unbelievable26

Well more investment on way because people being talkes are north american and macron are an italian company

Agree0 Disagree0

Objections:

-Why would any company buy the naming rights for a Championship stadium, associated with Ken Bates?

- Macron don't have that sort of cash;

- The stadium doesn't belong to Leeds to sell its naming rights.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt matter elland road is only called elland road on where it built

Agree0 Disagree0

Happend to Newcastle and now look at them. Bring on the Macron Arena!

Agree0 Disagree0

This rumour was started as a joke on another site, you'll also see KY Jelly Bowl, Durex Staduim and The Saga Stadium mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmm sounds a bit fishy to me-are you
sure its not Mackerel arena?

Agree0 Disagree0

Man City dont own their own stadium and Etihad sponsored for 450 mil to get around the fair play rules

Agree0 Disagree0

Only place you just heard that is in your head, what a load of dribble,

Agree0 Disagree0

They won't do it. There would.be questions asked about the owners of the stadium who would have to have agreed to the naming rights. Bates will go out of his way not to disclose that he owns both ER and Thorpe Arch. Otherwise we would have SD the naming rights long ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 'Macron Stadium' would be about right. Cheap design and larger than needed! MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not dribblle, its on the bates out twitter feed. look if you dont believe me

that Fawaz al-Hasawi has no financial clout to buy a club in the UK...

All I know is that it will be a takeover NOT an investment and NW isn't going anywhere. Come from a good source and it will be completed in 2 weeks time.

Believable20 Unbelievable11

I see you did your twitter research don't bs your own fans

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to back these comments with facts other wise it all a load of rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Note: This site is called Leeds RUMOURS not Leeds FACTS therefore there is no need to back these comments with facts as it is a rumour site! P.S. I didn't write the OP but am astounded at the amount of people that moan on here about having no facts when it is clearly a rumour site for rumours.

It's interesting to see a lot of the BATES OUT mob suddenly become his biggest fan now he might have decided to sell.

Believable16 Unbelievable11

What do you expect they want him out...right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well isn't that the obvious point that most wanted?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its also interesting to see that the reason they might like him is the fact that he is going? Doesn't take a genius to see the link

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been a big change from BATES OUT to.... He's been brilliant in his time at Leeds and saved our club thank you mr bates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard a Bates in mob. Of course we want him out. It's time for progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates has done an excellent job for Leeds. If he is now getting out by selling to an owner who will take the club up to the next levels he has done a brilliant job. A word of caution re any takeover - sometimes it is better the devil you know and Bates is no Ridsdale. We might be stuck in the Championship but we have a club.

Agree0 Disagree0

No i still hate him, for all those who think he has been brilliant i will remind you that our saviour put us into administration and he is also the reason we started with -15 points

Agree0 Disagree0

And what about the fans who paid good hard earned money to watch sometimes dour performances. Think they should take most of the credit too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Non of the anti bates like him or thank him, all want him to sell and go, good riddance, no interest in football or how the team performs on the pitch with no investment, aslong as he is getting his piggy bank money, who ever takes over the club will show more interest in the club than colonel sanders does,

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates is a very difficult old man, hopefully he will not cock up the sale of our club, whoever buys it

Who do you dislike/hate the most
Bates Or Risdale ?

Believable13 Unbelievable24

This is a one sided question, Ridsdale decimated our club, Bates rescued it.

No matter what you think of Bates he has never inflicted the damage that Ridsdale managed....

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair buddie I've never hated bates fair enough he is a stingy old man but how many clubs can say they make a profit every year, altho it would be nice to see some of that money reinvested but it's better than a chairman who blows money left right and centre and you end up like Portsmouth
JK

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting you say that, who you hate the most. I woke up in a cold sweat last night with the news that Bates had sold.... to Ridsdale!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid question, Ridsdale almost ruined this club forever and has since almost inflicted the same on Cardiff - sure Bates is tight with his cash but at least we still have a club to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Risdale was a deluded fan with a need for the limelight surrounded by a load of yes men.
Bates is a self serving owner with little care for the fans. Bates is the worst but you won't want any in charge of your club. Bates must sell or put in big money (which he doesn't have) so hopefully is is going. For the record he didn't save our club there were other parties willing to take us on but he succeeded in becoming owner by some rather surprising decisions from KPMG and a large creditor

Agree0 Disagree0

To me they are Davros and his evil twin...one could not stop spending money he didn´t have and the other makes scrooge look like a squanderer

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridsdale hands down, he was wreckless and cost people money! At least Ken is careful!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridsdale almost destroyed our club Bates brought it back from the brink. I dont hate Bates at all Yes he should never speak in public and is a tiny bit shifty but he has us in profit. Now we need a bigger push so hopefully the takeover goes through and I will be thanking Bates for what he has done for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the profit fans have moaned about its about the way he as done with his pathetic pricing policy and selling players to make that profit.

Agree0 Disagree0

If risdale had guided leeds to premier league, champions league etc it would be a different story. he tried to elavate leeds to be the biggest club in england and it back fired but at least he tried. whereas bates bought the club for nothing got us relegated the put is back in admin and bought the cub for a penny in the pound and screwed investors out of the club as he hadnt finished ad then sells our best players to make a profit?? yeah brought us back from the brink only to slowly take us apart bit by bit until leeds united has no clout in transfer market while other teams laugh at us? all hail bates? not a chance. quicker he sells the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liesdale all the way, truly in a league of his own that bloke

Agree0 Disagree0

Risdale, Bates is the lesser of two evils lol hard decision

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate Risdale, no contest. I dislike Bates but I respect the kind of business model he tried, though ultimately failed, to build.

If this fawaz Arab guy has got so much money why doesn't he buy Leeds and forest?;) haha {Ed020's Note - ruling i think is your not allowed to own over 27% of two clubs in the same league, or something along them lines}

Believable9 Unbelievable3

They say that you cant own two because you may become bias towards one club making unfair

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you want that one club might get more money than the other its just wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Let this fawaz arab guy take over forest thay r just a very small club what need the help so good luck to them

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2012 14:39:15
To people who say the deal is gonna be an investment only and can't believe that it's going to be a takeover. Correct me if i'm wrong but these people who are saying this must be in the know, because if they buy less than than 50% it isn't a takeover, if they buy 51% or more this is deemed a takeover as majority shareholder? 31 May 2012 14:32:52
Just read with interest that the guy who is supposed to be buying forrest CLAIMS NW is going to be their manager?

Is NW about to walk out?

Is the guy that is buying forest is really buying Leeds?

Why hasnt Uncle ken said anything yet?

Who, What, When and How.....Who really cares!

The Sun Newspaper are just reading the same Tweets, Blogs looking at the same sites we are all are. some say Kuwait are looking at Nottingham some same Leeds, some say Canada, Chicago ever Texas now. Basically no one knows for certain, we won't till the OS announces it. Just wait and see.

Believable14 Unbelievable0

31 May 2012 12:07:03
Just been on yorkshire radio ken bates has said he isn't asking for 80 million and he hasn't spoken to any Canadians . so who does that leave

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Can't believe anything Uncle Ken tells us lol

Agree0 Disagree0

The investors are meant to be from Chicago...Thats not in Canada.

Agree0 Disagree0

It leaves about 166 other countries.

Bit economical with the news, Uncle Ken.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Americans who he has been talking too all the time.Just in case you did not know Chicago is in the USA.MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The main interested party are from CHICAGO according to most reports and that is in AMERICA so I'd be worried if he had talked to Canadians instead of the people involved with the Chicago bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Americans that everyone's been on about for the last few days?

Agree0 Disagree0

I do wish you wouldn't keep doing KB a dis-service. When he says he will look for the best deal for Leeds I happen to believe him. He went out on a limb to save us from Krasner & Co who couldn't manage a good bowel evacuation. So what KB makes money and he winds a few mouth breathers up. The cynical side of me thinks that the ones making the most noise are the ones that KB ousted out of the cheap seats and concession seats and made them pay their full whack. And they accuse him of being tight, when "our club" was struggling. I would imagine right about now "Our club" is in a lot healthier position than it has been for years before KB turned up. Incidentally I am not an apologist for "Norman" Bates. I just happen to think if it weren't for him we could be like them person b**tards in Glasgow and had a chairman like Craig Whyte. Perish that thought. "Hasta la victoria siempre" as they say in West Yorkshire.
Jedburgh White

Agree0 Disagree0

The American Chicago group? The other linked US group? Or the group with links to Dubai and London? Take your pick. The Chicago one being the only one so far to have progressed at all. Reportedly

Agree0 Disagree0

The chicago based consortium is looking favourites !

Agree0 Disagree0

The YEP seems to have some idea. It looks as if Ken is talking to some Americans

Agree0 Disagree0

He is probably correct in what he has said. What he hasnt said is that he is asking for £79m and he is in discussion with Americans.

Wibsey White

Agree0 Disagree0

I got told sometime back that Bates had been told to get his affairs in order due to health so he might just want a sale at the best price and no matter what you think of him why shouldnt he we would

Agree0 Disagree0

Ermmmm The Americans which it has been all along.....

Agree0 Disagree0

What exactly would Bates be selling? It's not as if he owns the ground, or the training ground, oh no, absolutely not... We have no players assets to speak of. £80 is nearer the mark than 80 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did he mention if it was any more than a simple investment though? that's the important matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

He wouldn't comment on it anyway it would jeopordise a potential deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even though i dont like the man and think he is stuck in the 80's I am sure you will agree that if he wants to sell then it is good business sense to do what is right as an individual and for the club and its future. As several posters have pointed out we are solvent and make money and why shouldn't a business man make a profit because that is why you go into business in the first place and take the risks in doing so because your aim should be to secure a good retirement package and good living whilst doing it , lets not forget that is what he is , a business man at the end of the day and he doesnt reside in Monaco for nothing!

Agree0 Disagree0

My thoughts are that i believe Old Ken wants to leave the club in the best hands for the future as he wants to be remembered fondly. I heard that he had taken a fall and isnt well

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all Bates is confirming what most saw as lazy journalism from the Daily Mail - regurgitating and combining to separate stories from a few years back.
Secondly this is a very unusual comment from Bates at this time, he wouldn't usually comment on such inaccuracies

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read the BBC gossip column and came across this link saying that nottingham forrest are more likely than us. Don't shoot the messenger, I still have no idea what the hell is going to happen!

http://www.sport360.com/article/nottingham-forest-favourites-edge-leeds-kuwaiti-takeover

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Nobody has any idea what is happening, everybody is just guessing. Just gonna have to wait and see!

Agree0 Disagree0

The Kuwait bid is for Forest from all accounts, the Chicago based one is for Leeds!

Agree0 Disagree0

This is because one "influential blogger" from kuwait says so. I'd be wary of this.

Agree0 Disagree0

For the last time, this has been dismissed by Forest in the YEP as absolute nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could also be just a load of s**t from bates trying to get poeple to buy season tickets wouldnt put it past him hes one sneaky cratfty old t**t but hope im wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

It was lust that first announced anything to do with a take over nothing to do with bates. The club only made their statement after speculation ran wild.

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is this could force bids from other sources anyway. the kuwait guy has said it is a championship club with history which doesnt just mean leeds and forest what about sheff wed , derby , birmingham etc he isnt from this country so might not look at history the same as us lets face it Blackpool go way back. Id rather have no investment though if going to be same outcome as Liverpool , Villa and Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Press statement from forest we the board are able to confirm that we are unable to confirmrecent media media speculation about the sale of the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea, i'd rather be stuck in championship than finish 3rd and have champs lge football, NOT .

Agree0 Disagree0

3rd in the league might sound good but have we a manager that can find young kids like Wenger? Dont think so myself and lets face it Arsenal , Villa , Liverpool and Man U aint spending the money like Chelsea and City? If we go with the Americans we might still not think big and still be taken for a ride look at the price of tickets at old trafford now , things got that bad supporters started a new club

Hi guys. The situation is that talks with Mr Bates, the club Chairman, are at an advanced stage and it is hoped that a press release will be made after the holidays. The reason that their appears to be so many rumours out there is down to both parties wishing to keep talks confidential as is the norm in circumstances like this. I can say that the prospective new owner is excited about your clubs future. If all goes well this club can look forward to a great future and realize its true potential. Watch the press early next week guys

Believable25 Unbelievable7

Could be American, spells 'realize; with a 'Z' !

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting post from somebody who wishes to appear in the know. Formal referencing of 'Mr Bates' might suggest a person who is part of the legal negotiations. The use of 'Hi guys' and the spelling of 'realize' may indicate an American author. Alternatively of course, errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation suggest that this person may just be out for a laugh, and not the involved party they seem at first glance. Anyway, in the know or not, I hope he or she is right. :0)

Agree0 Disagree0

Cubs owner Thomas S Ricketts is another name in the frame, and intriguingly, as of last night was the only Chicago sports club owner linked to Leeds not to have publically denied an interest.

Ricketts, 49, is an investment banker whose family is worth $1b. He purchased the Cubs – one of the most famous names in baseball – in October 2009 for $900m. He is currently one of four major shareholders of Derby County and whether he wants to branch out alone and explore an interest in Leeds remains to be seen.

Another name to emerge last night was Neil Bluhm, a Chicago-based real-estate and casino magnate.

The 74-year-old is worth $2b and is believed to be keen to expand his sports portfolio. He has already held stakes in the Bulls and the White Sox.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, can't and won't believe the story of a take over, investment maybe.
If Bates does go it will be like x-mas come early, but not trying to get my hopes up.
Just can't see bates letting us go.
hope i'm wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Regarding rickets as being a major shareholder in county he would have to sell his shares before buying leeds and also as he pait 900 million dollars for the cubs makes you wonder how he will fund the leeds takeover will he a do a glaziers and borrow against the club to buy the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not all forget papa smurf is now 80 years (December 4, 1931)
maybe enough is enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another thing that could indicate Americans is the use of the word holidays lets hope its true then we can wave papa smurf or captain birds eye a big bye bye with a big hand

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, agree with the last post
I believe this may well be a tactic by Bates to delay buying players. All the so called buyouy or even investment will delay signing players and 1 or 2 weeks before the season starts, we will not have signed anyone. Good excuse being, "We were delayed by the buyout/investment". Bates using this as an excuse NOT to buy anyone of quality, but get a load of freebies in last minute, who have not ben signed by any other clubs. Hope I am wrong, just being pessimistic, then not disappointed when its true.
Leeds Yorkshire white forever!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Also put their instead of there, ive been a leeds supporter for 25 years and history has bound me to be sceptical, i hope a takeover does happen, but i wont allow myself to get excited. Too many times in the past it has appeared that great things are on the horizon only to crash and burn
